Fight Night (20) Re-Edited
Savannah's P.O.V
I walk out of my last class of the day and head towards my locker where Ellie was waiting for me
"What did you say to Blaze yesterday? He came to my house grinning ear to ear." A smile was making an appearance on my face as well, he was smiling because I told him that I love him and that I never stopped.
"Nothing, I just said that we should put our differences aside for you and have a fresh start. I don't know why he was smiling, maybe the girl is back."
She looked at me confused "The girl from two years ago?"
I smiled at her "Maybe, maybe not. That you have to ask him not me."
She pulled out her phone and started texting him, but I noticed he was walking sad-looking around the corner towards us. He charged at us, grabbed me by the hair and pulled me into a closet. Ellie simply yelled behind us that she would wait in the car, not bothering to accompany us even though she knew she wouldn't prevail against him. "Blaze! What are you doing?"
"You need to stay away from me Savannah." His fingers were digging into my arms creating fresh bruises over top of the ones I had gotten a couple of days ago from my dad.
"Blaze we went over this yesterday, you are not pushing me away anymore. I won't let that happen not after finally finding out why you left me a year ago. All the questions are gone from my mind because everything adds up."
Blaze clenched his jaw "I am serious Savannah, it doesn't matter anymore. We shouldn't matter to you anymore because nothing can happen. Gio is catching on that I am getting distracted by you and he won't be so laid back about it this time. This time he might do something to hurt you as a warning to me and I won't... Can't let that happen."
I smirk "I'm distracting you?"
"Is that all you got from everything I just said."
"You know you being this protective of me is pretty hot" I whisper in his ear leaning in a bit leaving a kiss behind his ear "Actually its really sexy."
He groans leaning away from me "Why aren't you scared?"
Yanking him back against me and startling him in the process I say "I am not scared because I don't care what's in front of me ready to hurt myself because I know there's someone behind me ready to protect me under any circumstances."
"Where is this sudden trust in me coming from? Is it just because now you know that I was protecting you? Or is it because Ellie told you?"
I raised an eyebrow at him "It isn't sudden trust Blaze, do you think love comes without trust? Trust is what holds love together. Did you buy all the bullshit I was selling you?"
He yanked himself away from me back up against the wall opposite to mine "I saw the hate in your eyes Savy, you can't say that you didn't stop trusting me because you did."
"That wasn't hate that was anger, that was fear that you were going to leave after you came back."
"Savy, you have to understand what I'm trying to say, the only reason why I'm back is because of my career. The farther away I am from you the better for you."
"What are you hiding?"
"You already know everything, Ellie-"
"What Ellie told me is only half the truth, tell me what you are hiding from me."
He frantically started to look around anywhere but me "I-I don't know what you are talking about, what Ellie told you was all of it."
"Then why are you not happy that I know everything now? Why aren't you happy seeing the 'hate' replaced by love again, the 'distrust' replaced by trust again and why aren't you looking at me when you are talking?"
I grab his face from moving around and stare directly in his eyes "We can't talk about this in the janitor's office. Let's go to my penthouse."
"Fine by me but what are we going to say to Ellie?"
"Don't worry, I have everything handled, Chance took her home a couple of minutes ago so let's go." I nodded starting to follow him out.
A Couple Of Minutes Later
As I sat down on the couch to wait for Blaze to emerge from the lavatory so we could resume our previous conversation, I noticed a picture frame and reached over to pick it up.
It was us, we looked so happy, so perfect.
. . . Flashback . . .
"Savy, can you please put the book down baby, and put some of your focus on me."
"Stop being a baby Cage, and let me finish this assignment from tomorrow you've distracted me enough."
He pulled the book away tucking it underneath his butt, looking at me with a pout. "I deserve a kiss now, it's been exactly two hours since you've given me any sort of affection Savy. Come on, it's not my fault I'm so attractive that I distract you."
I give him a bored look "Give me the book back Cage."
"Sav-"
"Book now."
He huffed like a little kid throwing the book back to me and walked away into the gaming room in his penthouse for a couple of minutes before coming back and sitting right behind me with his legs on either side of side me.
"What are you doing?" I said cautiously putting my book down and turning around to look at him but he didn't let me tuck his head into the crook of my neck.
"Nothing," He mumbled into my neck sending a shiver down my spine "Just trying to remind you how good I can make you feel."
Trapping my hands down against my sides he began kissing down my neck tugging my hair to the other side with one hand biting in places making me hiss in pain but immediately soothing the sting with his tongue. "T-This i-s what I mean about mean about distracting me, Charming."
"There's my name, Cage doesn't sound good coming from your mouth babe how many times do I have to tell you that."
Snapping out of his trance I elbow him and turn around in his lap with a huge smile on my face matching his "You are so stupid Charming."
"I love you too Savy."
. . . Present . . .
What happened to us is fucked up, we both gave up on each other but we found our way back, the distance between us is just to see how far our love will travel, and how long it will survive. A test to see if we will overcome and we did hopefully I can somehow make him see that.
"You finally noticed that picture huh?" Blaze said from behind me, standing in nothing but a towel
"God, Blaze will you please put on some clothes, before you come out of the bathroom."
"You know that picture was there when you came here last time too, to make my cake. But you never noticed it." He continued completely ignoring what I just said
"I was trying to respect your privacy Blaze, so I didn't look around but just did what I was told but then I kind of got caught up with you," I said blushing to look away from him and focused on the picture more than his face.
He sighed sitting down on the sofa and lifting my face gently "After you left that night Gio called me and threatened your safety again because someone told him that you were in my penthouse and that I was late to the fight even though that was far from the truth. I knew I needed to push you away again so I said..."
"Not like I want to touch you anyways, I've had better."
"I didn't mean a word of it Savy, I swear. After you, I never looked at another girl because nothing could have compared to you, the feeling you gave me, the love you gave me no one, and I mean no one could match that."
"So ever cruel thing you have said to me or about me was under Gio's pressure? Why didn't you tell me before?"
"Because he knew he owed everything to me and he still does isn't that right Cage Charming Levi? Oops or should I say, Blaze Cage Zander."
Both of us froze not wanting to turn around because both of us knew exactly who that voice belonged to.
