Jo wakes up from the sun shining on her face and opens her eyes slightly. She finds Dart staring at her body, kissed by the sunlight. She smiles slightly and stretches her arms up, feeling Dart's eyes move to her chest. She rolls onto her stomach and hears him mumbling. She turns her head to look at him through her hair and sees he's still staring at her body. He stretches his arm out and touches the skin of her back lightly. It sends a shiver down her spine and he chuckles softly.

 Jo lifts her head and looks at him. He blushes slightly and looks into her eyes. She smiles at him and says: "Good morning. Enjoying the view?" 

He smiles wide and says: "Oh yes. The view is amazing from here." 

Jo moves over to his side of the bed and rolls over, with her back turned to him. "Hmm, I don't see what's so special about it." 

Dart chuckles against her neck and wraps his arm around her as he says: "Yeah, I can't see it any more either." He kisses her neck and Jo closes her eyes. 

"Hmm. Dart, what time is it?" 

Dart says: "Don't freak out, but it's almost ten. Jake said it was okay if you came in late." The second she hears it's almost ten, she does freak out slightly, but relaxes when she hears Dart say Jake knows about it. Dart draws circles with his finger on her tummy and asks: "How would you feel about Kane marrying us on the beach?" 

Jo asks: "Kane? Why him?" 

Dart says: "He has done it before. He got ordained a couple of years ago and sometimes people hire him to do their weddings. I've seen him marry both of his brothers. He is really good at it and I thought it would be nice to have someone we know." 

Jo says: "I agree. I would love to keep everything a friends and family affair." Jo can feel Dart smile against her shoulder. She rolls onto her back and looks at him. "We're exactly on the same page for this wedding, aren't we?" 

He leans over to her and asks: "Aren't we on everything though?" 

Jo pretends to think about it for a long time and Dart pokes her side. Jo laughs and asks: "I think it's time we fight, don't you?" 

Dart looks shocked and asks: "Why?" 

"I don't know. To make up after?" 

Dart smiles and says: "Oh, making up sounds fun. Fighting doesn't though." 

Jo lays her hand against his cheek and looks into his eyes. "I think we both have been through enough drama for a lifetime. I can't see us fighting about anything." She kisses him softly and wraps her arms around him. 

Dart says: "Me neither love. It's going to be smooth sailing for the rest of our lives." Dart kisses her, before getting up. He gets dressed and Jo stares at him for a bit, before getting up herself and putting the little black dress with spider lace details on. She wears the spiked sneakers under it and gives up on fixing her hair. She puts on a lot of mascara for the spider leg effect and wears spider earrings. Dart pulls a curl and graces her with his signature smile. 

Jo looks at his outfit and says: "Let's take a selfie together this morning. I love seeing myself more than once in one picture." Dart agrees and holds out her phone, kissing her cheek. Jo smiles wide and winks at the camera. Jo posts it on social media and adds the text: Running a bit late today. Was distracted by a very handsome man, wearing an amazing shirt. ;) She smiles when she sees the first reactions come in. People are asking if a shirt like that is also sold at the boutique. 

Dart looks over her shoulder and says: "Send them to the gym, if they ask you about it." They walk out of the house together and Dart buys them both a cheese croissant at the bakery. He hugs her warmly and says: "I'm late. I have to go to the gym now." 

Jo holds onto him and says: "I'll miss you today. Have a good day at work." They kiss, before going their separate ways. 

Dart yells over his shoulder: "I love you!" Jo smiles, before walking over to the cafe, eating her croissant on the way.

She walks in and sees Nikki serve coffee in a similar dress she is wearing. Nikki's dress is red and has sleeves, but the spiderweb- lace details are the same. Nikki looks at Jo's dress and smiles. "Good morning Jo. That dress looks good on you." 

Jo smiles and says: "Good morning Nikki. You look beautiful today." Jo walks up to the bar and hugs Jake. 

Jake asks: "Did you sleep well, little sis?" 

Jo nods and says: "I slept very well. Thanks for letting me come to work late." 

Jake smiles and says: "You're welcome. I did have my own reasons for it though, secret reasons." 

Jo looks at him and says: "I will drop it, before I start. Because I can tell by the look in your eyes that you're not going to tell me anything." 

Jake laughs and says: "You've got that right, sis. I will be off to pick up some supplies. I'll be back in an hour or so. Keep an eye on the cafe for me." He kisses her cheek and walks out quickly. 

Shaun comes in from the kitchen and looks her over. "Looking good Jo! Good morning!" 

Jo smiles and says: "Good morning Shaun! Thanks for the compliment." Jo pours herself a cup of coffee and leans against the cabinets behind the bar, looking at the guests eating their breakfast. Shaun and Nikki work together perfectly and Jo watches them with a loving look in her eyes. She looks at the door and sees Kane come in with his nephew. 

He smiles at her and says: "I brought your number one fan with me." Jo walks around the bar and Kane lifts the boy up on a stool. The boy almost jumps from the stool to hug her and Jo laughs. 

"It's good to see you too." He lets go of her and looks around the cafe nervously. 

Kane chuckles and says: "Her boyfriend is not here. Don't worry." 

Jo hugs Kane too and says: "It's good to see you too of course." 

Kane smiles and says: "Likewise. I am here to check if Dart was pulling my leg or not. And since I'm watching this monster today, I figured I'd take him with me to see you." 

Jo says: "I'm guessing it's about our wedding and I can tell you he wasn't pulling your leg." 

Kane stares at her with his mouth open, before snapping out of it and asking: "You want me to marry you two?" 

Jo nods and says: "Yes, I do." 

Kane says: "Oookay. I was positive he was joking." 

Jo asks: "Do you want some breakfast or something to drink?" 

Kane sits down with his nephew on his lap and says: "I would like a coffee and a croissant for the monster." 

The little boy grumbles and says: "Stop it! Not monster!" 

Kane grins and Jo asks: "What is your name mister?" 

The boy looks at her all proud and says: "Ben." 

Jo smiles at him and says: "Nice to meet you Ben. Would you like a croissant?" Ben nods and sticks his tongue out towards Kane. Jo pours a coffee for Kane and puts a croissant on a plate for Ben. Kane sips his coffee, keeping an arm around Ben as he nibbles at his croissant. 

Kane asks: "Where are you guys getting married? Do I have to fly to Europe? Or some tropic island?" 

Jo shakes her head and says: "No. We're getting married on the beach, here. Where it all began." Jo pours herself another coffee and takes a sip. 

Kane says: "It will be my first beach wedding! I like that. That suits you two."

Jo gets called over by Shaun and she excuses herself. She reaches Shaun and he says: "This girl would like to take a picture with you. She was just too scared to ask." 

Jo smiles at the girl and says: "Don't be scared. Do you want it to be a selfie?" The girl nods and Jo kneels down, putting her head on the same level as the girl and smiles wide for the picture. The girl stutters a thank you and Jo says: "You're welcome! Have a nice breakfast!" 

Jo quickly drinks her coffee behind the bar, before it goes cold again. She turns to Kane and says: "Yes, beach wedding. And we're trying to keep it small and intimate. The reception will be here, Jake will be giving me away, Dirk will be the photographer and Pierre, Dart's childhood friend made the art for the invitations. So it's a friends and family affair." 

Kane smiles and says: "That sounds great. A loving group of people, making your wedding day possible. That also suits you two. I would love to be part of it." 

Jo smiles and says: "I'm glad. You should come over to our house, when we have figured most of it out. We need to discuss the date with Jake and our European family and friends. But I will keep you posted." 

Kane nods and says: "Yeah. I want to talk to you two in private. Get a feel for what you want."

 Ben asks: "Stay?" 

Kane shakes his head and says: "No boy, we're not staying. Jo has to work and we have to tease Dart at the gym." 

Ben shakes his head and yells: "Stay!" 

Kane thinks for a second and says: "You know what we'll do? I'll take a picture of you and Jo. And we will show it to Dart to tease him." 

The boy smiles wide and Jo says: "Oh, suddenly it's all okay. He's definitely related to you." 

Kane laughs and says: "Come on Jo. Pose with Ben." Jo walks to their side of the bar and puts an arm around Ben. 

Ben cuddles up to her and says: "Pretty." Jo blushes slightly and Kane takes the picture. 

Kane picks up Ben and says: "Bye Jo. I'll see you soon!" 

Jo says: "Bye Kane and Ben! Don't tease Dart too much! I love him!" Ben sticks out his tongue and Jo laughs. 

A group of costumers walk over to the bar to pay for their breakfast and Jo helps them with a smile. Jo helps Nikki and Shaun clean up, when the last guest has left and says: "Sit down you two. Want to eat or drink something?" Shaun and Nikki sit down at the bar and both grab a croissant and ask for orange juice. Jo fills two glasses and places them in front of them. Jo says: "Stay put and rest for a bit." She clears the buffet trays off the bar and carries them to the kitchen and quickly fills the dishwasher and gets it started. She walks back into the bar and drinks a glass of water. "You two work very well together." 

Nikki smiles and Shaun says: "Yeah. We all work together well here though." 

Jo says: "That's true. We work well in every combination possible. I love working with you guys."

 Nikki says: "Same here!" 

Jo smiles and sees her phone light up under the bar. She picks it up and sees a message from Dart. 

You just can't behave, can you?
Yesterday you kissed Nikki and went to dinner with Tyler.
(don't look online by the way, they came up with some insane stories)
And now I find out you've been hugging Ben. 

Jo smiles at her phone and then sees a picture of Ben, lifting a barbell with a big smile. She laughs and hears Jake come in, whistling happily. He winks at her and says: "The place didn't burn down I see. Good, I guess I can go out more often." 

Jo says: "We did fine without you. But let's be honest here, it's not like you do much when you are here." Shaun almost chokes on his juice and Nikki giggles. 

Jake says: "Have you forgotten how strong I am Jo? I could just carry you out of here and toss you in the ocean." 

Jo grins and says: "And piss off Maria for ruining this dress? I don't think so." 

Jake grumbles: "I hate it when your brain works fast like that!" 

Jo laughs and says: "You know I love you big brother!" She kisses his cheek and walks out to greet the group of people that just sat down on the terrace. One of the women asks her where she got the dress and Jo tells her about Maria's boutique. Jo writes down their orders and goes back inside to prepare them. She walks out a bit later, with her arms full of plates, serving them their baguettes and sandwiches with a smile.

She walks back inside and catches Jake, Nikki and Shaun whispering. Jo walks into the kitchen and rinses some dishes, waiting for the dishwasher to beep. She looks in the fridge and sees a container with vegetable soup and takes it out. She heats up the soup and hears the dishwasher beep. She opens the dishwasher and puts the heated soup in a bowl. She sits down and browses her Instagram. She sees that her picture with Dart has a lot of replies, mostly people asking where Dart got his shirt. She smiles and looks at some more pictures, while eating her soup.

Jake walks into the kitchen and smiles when he sees her eat. He sits down across from her and says: "I'm glad you're eating. And thanks for giving us a moment. It's all wedding secrets from now on." 

Jo smiles and says: "I thought that was it. It's okay. Feel free to tell me to stay away though. I don't want to ruin any surprises." 

Jake smiles and says: "I should have known you would be this cool about it. Oh and before I forget, Maria said you should come over to the boutique after work." 

Jo's eyes sparkle as she says: "Okay. I'll do that." She finishes her soup and texts Dart that she has something to do after work and that he should go home from the gym. 

She gets up and Jake says: "I'll go eat something now." Jo smiles and nods, walking into the cafe again. Shaun and Nikki are already back at work and Jo cleans up behind the bar. The afternoon goes by fast, with a steady flow of costumers, keeping them all on their toes. Jo walks into the kitchen with her arms full of dirty plates and puts them on the counter next to the sink. Jake walks in and says: "Go to Maria, Jo. You've done enough for today. And Maria is impatient." Jo laughs and hugs Jake and Ronnell goodbye. She walks into the cafe and waves at Nikki and Shaun, skipping over to the boutique. 

Maria is waiting for her in front of the door and hugs her warmly. "Hi sweetie. Your dress has arrived." Jo jumps up and down and Maria laughs. "Come with me." She walks into the boutique and locks the door behind Jo. She walks upstairs and Jo follows her. Maria opens a clothing bag hanging on the door and pulls out the dress carefully. Jo stares at it with tears in her eyes. Maria smiles and asks: "It's amazing isn't it?" 

Jo nods and Maria hugs her tight. "I still can't believe I get to wear it and marry Dart." 

Maria says: "I think it will have to be the actual wedding for it to really sink in." 

Jo touches the dress and says: "I think you might be right about that. Please take good care of it for me." 

Maria says: "I will Jo. I will keep it safe and I will make sure it's in your old bedroom at Jake's when you have to get dressed." 

Jo kisses her cheek and says: "Thank you so much Maria! For being here for me through all of this." 

"It's my pleasure Jo. I've seen you grow into this wonderful woman and I'm proud to be part of your life." 

Jo stares at her dress one more time and says: "I'm going home to my future husband. I missed him today!" 

Maria says: "I'll go and see my favorite man too." They walk downstairs and outside together. Jo waits till Maria locks the door and hugs her, before running home to Dart.

She runs into the garden and sees Kane sitting on the porch with a beer. He lifts the bottle up and says: "Hey Jo. Long time no see." Jo laughs and greets him happily. 

She runs into the house and finds Dart in the kitchen. He turns around to her and spreads his arms out. Jo steps into them and sighs happily, snuggling up to him. "Welcome home, love. I missed you." 

Jo lifts her head up to him and kisses him. "I missed you too." 

Dart says: "I invited Kane over for dinner. I'll grill some meat. I hope that's okay?" 

Jo says: "Of course it is." 

Dart lifts her chin up and stares into her eyes. "Did something happen today? Your eyes seem to sparkle more than usual." 

Jo takes a step back and says: "Maybe. Not telling you." Dart pouts and Jo says: "It won't work this time. I'm going to shower quickly and put something a bit more comfy on. I feel sticky." Jo walks into the bedroom and grabs some underwear, shorts and her favorite T-shirt, with the text: Born to be a dart player on it. She walks over to the bathroom and showers quickly.

She walks out onto the porch, braiding her hair. Dart has set the table outside and is grilling meat, while Kane leans against the wall, talking about the wedding. Kane looks at her and smiles when he sees her shirt. Jo sits down on a chair and pulls a second one close to put her feet up. Kane walks inside and comes back with a cold beer and holds it out to her. Jo smiles and thanks him. She takes a sip and closes her eyes. 

Dart turns around to her and watches her with a loving smile and Kane observes them. Jo opens her eyes, knowing Dart is looking at her and smiles at him. Dart puts the meat on the table and sits down across from Jo, while Kane sits down next to Dart. Dart gives them all a piece of meat and Jo eats it happily. 

Kane says: "You never disappoint Dart. This tastes great." Dart smiles and raises his beer as a thank you. Jo is full and leans back in her chair, looking at the two men across from her still eating meat. 

Dart looks up from his plate and says: "We need to discuss this Ben situation. I gave him permission to hold Jo's hand, but hugging is taking it to far." 

Kane laughs and says: "You should have heard him on the way over to the cafe. He sang Pretty Jo for the entire drive." They laugh together and Kane asks: "But seriously, are you guys jealous?" 

Jo says: "I was very jealous. But I think that came from my own insecurities. Nowadays I don't really care any more. I'm the one he comes home to and shares the bed with. I am very sure of our love for each other, so that makes it a lot less hard to see girls drool over him." 

Dart says: "I'm trying to be better. But I hate it when others touch her or stare at her. I never knew what it was like to love someone that much and then having to share her with others. I still get very possessive when too many people claim her attention. I just want to pick her up and run home. Even though I know she's mine forever, the teenage nerd in me still doesn't believe it."

 Kane smiles and says: "I think that's going to be the theme of your relationship. Jo being the strong, mature one and Dart being the nerdy, scared boy. So what about a story from your childhood?" 

Dart gets up and says: "I'll be right back. I'll show you an awesome picture and I will bring back three more beers." When he comes back, he puts the beers on the table and hands Kane a framed picture. 

Kane looks at it and says: "Ah, look at how proud she is of herself." Dart chuckles and tells him the story behind the picture. Jo sips her beer, watching Dart tell the story. Kane bursts out into laughter and says: "That is so awesome. So you were always this strong willed, Jo." 

Jo shrugs and says: "I just love puddles. They are meant to be jumped in." 

Kane asks: "Even nowadays?" 

Jo looks away and mumbles: "Maybe." 

Dart chuckles and Jo says: "To be honest, when I see a puddle, all I can think of for the first few seconds, is to jump into it. Then I realize I am an adult now and it would ruin my outfit. So I walk trough it slowly, imagining myself jumping into it." 

Kane says: "I love people who still remember the child in them. Thanks for being so honest Jo." 

Jo gets up and says: "I'll go grab something to show you too. I'll be right back." She comes back out with a frame and a canvas hands them to Kane. 

Kane looks at it and says: "Wow, did your friend draw this, Dart?" 

Dart says: "Yes all three of them. Even though the first and oldest drawing is technically not Jo." 

Kane looks at it and says: "What do yo mean it's not Jo? It's a strong, pretty, curly redhead." Jo laughs softly and Dart explains how that is a drawing of his dream girl, made when he was a young boy. Kane stares at Dart and asks: "And you're sure you're not pulling my leg?" 

Jo says: "I found it when we were visiting Dart's mother in France. It was hidden in a stack of comic books. I couldn't believe what I saw and when I translated the text I was even more stunned." 

Kane asks: "What does the text next to it say?" 

Dart says: "1. curly hair, 2. glasses, 3. small boobs, 4. soft body and 5. strong." 

Kane looks Jo over and says: "That is just... I can't believe it... How is that even possible?" 

Jo and Dart say in unison: "It's probably our dads." Jo smiles and Dart says: "They must have something to do with it. They somehow brought us together looking down from heaven." 

Kane looks at them in silence and says after a while: "You seriously are meant to be together. You can't come up with stuff like this, even if you tried." Kane asks them a few more general questions and says: "I think I've gotten to know you two pretty well. I might talk to Jake and Maria too and I know some embarrassing stories about Dart myself that I can use." 

Dart coughs and says: "You better keep those to yourself!" 

Kane laughs and says: "I'm really honored you asked me for this. Let me know when you've decided on a date."

Jo stares at Dart and sips her beer. She is starting to feel lonely, even though he is right across from her. Normally they spend their evenings in each other's arms and she needs those arms around her. Dart catches her staring at him and smiles at her, searching her eyes to see what's wrong. Jo tries to look away and hide her feelings, but Dart has already seen it. Kane looks at their wordless communication and says: "If you want me to go home, just say so." 

Jo shakes her head and says: "No. You don't have to go." 

Dart gets up and says: "Let's go inside and get more comfortable then." He walks over to Jo and holds out his hand to her. She looks up at him and smiles, putting her hand in his. Just holding his hand already makes her feel better. They go inside and Dart sits down on the couch and pulls her onto his lap, wrapping his arms around her. Jo sighs happily and snuggles up to him. 

Kane sits down across from them and smiles slightly. "So that was it, Jo? It wasn't me?" 

Jo blushes and says: "Yeah. I missed his arms around me." 

Dart kisses her softly and says: "I was starting to feel bad myself. Totally addicted to this woman." Jo smiles and closes her eyes as she listens to his heartbeat. Dart takes in the smell of her hair, with a happy look on his face. Kane watches them in silence, sipping his beer.

Kane asks: "Can I ask you about previous relationships? Or is that a no go area?" Dart gets a little tense and looks into Jo's eyes to see how she feels about it. 

Jo says: "It's fine. I don't mind talking about it. There's not much to talk about though." 

Kane asks: "What do you mean?" 

Jo smiles and says: "I had a boyfriend at 14, but I am sure I scared him. I was very violent back then. Kicked guys' asses if they touched girls that didn't want to be touched and I wasn't afraid of anything. I was very independent and not really interested in boys. I was convinced I could do everything myself and better than any boy could. An older boy tried to kiss me once and I was very unimpressed. Kissed a few girls, but that never turned into anything serious and then my dad died. I lost myself and all I did was work and sleep. That's when I met Mark. And you know how that went. So Dart is the first real relationship I've ever been in." 

Kane stares at her and says: "I was positive that someone with your looks would have had tons of ex lovers." 

Jo shrugs and says: "Dart is the only one I would ever call my lover. He showed me what making love is supposed to be like. I only associated it with pain and hate before him." It goes very silent in the room and Jo says softly: "Sorry. I didn't want to bring you guys down." Dart hugs her warmly and kisses her temple.

 Kane says: "I am sorry for asking. Looking at you now and seeing the gorgeous, confident woman you are, it's really hard to imagine the life you had with that bastard of an ex." 

Jo gives him a grateful look and says: "It's all thanks to Jake and Dart though. I don't think I would have found myself again, without their help. I am just glad I found enough strength in me to run away that night and not go for the other option I considered. Or I wouldn't have been here with Dart now."

Dart pushes her chin up and stares into her eyes, losing all the color from his face when he sees in her eyes what the other option was. Tears form in his eyes and he bites his lip. Jo holds his face in her hands and stares back into his eyes, trying to calm him down. Dart's voice is broken when he says: "You never told me that." 

Jo looks down and says: "I never wanted to tell anyone about that. It just came out." 

Kane gets up and mumbles: "Bathroom." 

Tears run down Dart's cheeks, the second Kane walks away. Jo wraps her arms around him and cries with him. He takes a deep breath and looks at her saying: "Just imagining you being in that much pain to consider that, breaks my heart. And knowing I thought about doing the same thing when I hit rock bottom... We would have never met if we did that." 

Jo kisses him softly and says: "We didn't do that though, because this was meant to be. Us, meeting and getting married soon... You already dreamed of me, before knowing me. And all those bad things we've been through, shaped us into the people we are today. Two people that fit together perfectly." 

Kane walks back in and sits down. "Yeah, it's really like all you've been through before meeting each other, was to make sure you fit together incredibly well today." 

Dart looks at him and says: "Yeah, it's sure starting to look that way, doesn't it? I am still baffled by all of that though. And I feel blessed for getting the chance to love her. Love her the right way." 

Jo smiles and says: "You sure do. Love me the right way."

Kane takes out his phone and says: "I love that expression. I need to save that on my phone." 

Jo gets up and says: "I need to pee. But don't talk about Dart's ex girlfriends, until I'm back."

 Kane laughs and says: "I promise, we'll make him uncomfortable together." Dart glares at Kane and Kane just laughs louder. Kane whispers: "How is she real? It's like you get to see a goddess in person and she's too pure and holy to look at. I feel honored just being in the same room with her." 

Dart smiles and nods: "I know. And she still doesn't get why people worship her. She doesn't see how amazing she really is." Jo walks back out and sits down next to Dart, turning to her side to face him. She looks amused and Dart sighs, mumbling: "Here we go." 

Kane chuckles and says: "Tell us about your first kiss Dart and we'll move on from there." 

Dart starts talking about Pierre's sister, a lot less ashamed this time around. He says: "I learned a lot of skills from her, that came in handy at work. I was in love with her, but it wasn't mutual at all. I'm grateful for the things I learned from her though." 

Kane says: "You were that late with your first kiss? You're just as surprising as Jo is to me. And I thought I knew you pretty well." 

Dart grins and says: "You do know me pretty well though. We go way back." 

Jo asks: "How did you guys meet?" 

Kane says: "During a party at a famous director's house. That guy always invited people from the adult entertainment industry to make it more interesting. Those parties were such a bore. But important for my career for networking purposes. I saw some guy being surrounded by basically every woman there. I watched the scene from a distance and wondered who he was. At some point a DJ started playing and the women all walked away from him to dance. I walked over to him with a beer and offered it to him." 

Dart smiles at the memory and says: "I wasn't used to guys treating me friendly back then. All I had to do was show up and all the women would flock to me. And guys basically hated me for it." 

Kane says: "It intrigued me and I wanted to see what kind of person he was behind the looks and his work persona. And I ended up liking him. He was funny and friendly and we trained at the gym together. We lived together too, that was an interesting time. Especially when Dylan joined us."

Jo looks from Kane to Dart and says: "The three of you lived together? Oh dear god, I can only imagine." 

Kane and Dart laugh and Dart says: "It's probably exactly what you imagine it to be. A lot of drinking and a lot of sex." 

Kane said:"Yeah, Dylan and I had no problems getting laid, with him as a room mate. He only managed so many girls at the same time. We were happy to help." Jo laughs and shakes her head. 

Dart chuckles and says: "I didn't teach us a damn thing about love though. But we were very satisfied back then." 

Kane says: "Yeah and Dylan and I were so jealous of him when he scored a new girlfriend. Until we started to realize that those girlfriends were always the girls he starred in a movie with. And that he was still bringing other girls home in his free time." 

Dart looks at the floor and says: "I didn't even think about it at the time. I just did what my bosses told me and had a lot of sex. And that was all I wanted back then. Train, drink and have sex." 

Kane says: "Yeah, it was a lot of fun. And then your father died." 

Dart goes silent and softly says: "Yeah, it turned into more drinking, drugs and making a lot of money doing whatever they wanted me to do. That was a very dark time. I didn't enjoy anything any more." 

Kane says: "We just couldn't get through to him at all. It was really scary to see him like that. Eventually he didn't come home and we had no clue if he was still alive." 

Jo sees the pain in Kane's eyes and says: "I had no idea you guys were in his life around that time. I'm sorry. That must have been really hard. When did you see him again?" 

Dart says: "Ivette made me go to a clinic and swore that if I didn't stay there for treatment, she would never speak to me again and then I would have lost the last person who still cared about me. She also kept saying I had to get my act together for the woman of my dreams, who was still out there waiting for me. I thought she was insane of course, but every time she visited me, she kept repeating it. She always has, until I met you." 

He lifts up Jo's hand and kisses it. Jo sees the pain in his eyes and tries to keep her tears down. "When I was allowed to leave the clinic and asked Ivette to drive me over to the apartment where I used to live with the guys. I walked up to the front door with the weight of the world on my shoulders, thinking they would reject me."

Kane says: "We were so relieved when we saw him. We were convinced that he wasn't alive any more. We kept checking the newspapers to see if someone found him under a bridge or something. When he showed up, all we could do was hug him and cry like babies." 

Jo gets up and walks over to the kitchen, trying to get her own emotions under control, as she gets three more beers from the fridge. She walks back into the living room and hands a beer to Kane and Dart. They thank her absentmindedly, lost in their own memories. Jo sips her beer, waiting for the two men to come back to her. 

Kane is the first one to speak: "We changed our lives after that. Less drinking, less sex, more gym time and eating healthy. It did wonders for our careers. Especially Dylan's, he became the biggest star. I have always been too quiet to really sell myself. And you know Dylan, he never shuts up." 

Jo laughs and asks: "So what about your love lives?" 

Kane shakes his head and says: "We were useless. We only knew how to have sex with girls. Usually the very dumb, shallow kind. Because the smart and interesting ones weren't interested in us at all. They don't go by looks alone. And it only got worse when we became more famous. It brings the bimbo's further up front and pushes the nice girls way back." 

Dart says: "Yeah, nothing serious there. Ever really. I was already convinced love wasn't real by then." They talk about the moment they stopped living together. Dart and Dylan flew over the globe constantly for work and Kane lived in the apartment the longest. Dart eventually bought the house he lives in now, mostly because it was close to the beach. Their careers drove them apart, but they always stayed in touch.

Kane says: "And when Dart told us he was in love, we thought he was joking. There was no way that was true. Love wasn't in the cards for us and definitely not for him. My heart stopped when you got out of that limo. I was still convinced you were a model and you met him at work. That you were only there as his arm candy. Dylan even said that you were a pretty good actress." Kane laughs and says: "Dart was obviously in love though. And as the night went on, we started to believe you were in love with him too. And you were so... well you. We fell in love with you too." 

Dart beckons Jo to come closer and she snuggles up to him. He kisses her head and says: "And now you're here, preparing to marry us." 

Kane says: "Yeah, it's a beautiful story. Filled with love and hope for idiots like me." 

Jo smiles and says: "I'm pretty sure there's someone out there for you too. But you have to start believing it yourself. If you don't, you will keep your true self locked away and it will never happen. You're a really nice, good looking guy and you have an awesome nephew. Use that boy to talk to normal women out there." 

Kane stares at her and blushes: "Now I'm all flustered, thanks. This turned into a pretty emotional night. But I don't regret coming here tonight." Jo yawns and lays her head down against Dart's chest. Dart strokes her hair and smiles at Kane. Kane says: "I'm going home. I used up all of the time you usually spend together. Thanks for all of it though. You both are pretty amazing people and I am honored to call you my friends." 

Dart gets up carefully, putting a pillow under Jo's head. She mumbles a goodbye, but quickly slides into dreamland. Dart walks out with Kane and closes the door behind him. 

Kane says: "You've found her, your wife. She is exactly what you deserve and the other way around. I am convinced you two will make it, you put all the couples I ever married to shame. I'm truly happy for you." They hug and Kane says: "Go on! Carry her to bed and keep her safe. We'll talk soon. Love her the right way. For all of us!" 

Dart smiles and goes back inside, locking the door behind him. He picks Jo up and lays down on the bed with her. She snuggles up to him and he holds her close, looking at her red cheeks until he falls asleep himself.
