Ch98 Schedule-4
How have you been doing?
Great, I know!
So here's an update to make it greater!
************************************
WILLS' POV:
"Give me the schedule."
Boss walked to me steaming.
"Super boss, I-"
What to do now?
Should I..? What if father comes to know about it?
"I don't care. Hand it over, dog. I need to know if a severely drunk foolish ass can do it or not."
Drunk?
Who's drunk?
He did save my ass for the Chinese. And he will get his hands on the schedule anyways. Better to hand it over willingly.
Reading the schedule, his eyes bulge out. Yeah! A drunk man has no chance.
"Did you prepare the schedule?"
He asked me angrily.
And for once, I was glad I didn't.
"No, Super Boss. Instructor Kelly did."
"That man still loves to put his student on fire. By the way, nice job on that revenge. Fucker needed a lesson."
"Super boss- I- you- I don't know."
Does he know we destroyed his uniform?
"Cut it, Wills. You will not get in any trouble with me for that."
Why did I even doubt? He has his dog alive. Ofcourse he would've come to know about it even before we executed the plan.
I merely nod and say nothing. All my seniors wanted that man on fire.
He walks over to Instructor Kelly and my heart sinks low. Did that mean he could get me in trouble with Kelly?
I strain my ears while I look busy preparing for the schedule. If something is forgotten, my ass is going to be paying for it.
"Instructor, please" said Super Boss
I know - one more attempt, and he'll be on his knees begging Kelly.
"You know I can't do that, sir. Now get lost before I tell Colonel about it" said Kelly in a voice that meant business.
That ass knows what words to use to sting and shut us up all at once.
"My apologies, sir. Can I atleast monitor the schedule with you? I won't interfere I promise."
What's the big deal?
Why is he so worried?
Who's drunk? Oh wait. It's Roshesh? Oh boy! He has no chance of survival if he is pulled into this.
"No. Colonel may allow it but not me. And if you still don't get the meaning of 'no', take it up with him."
Super boss walks away muttering curses at Kelly.

Major Philip Martins POV:
I am freaked out to say the least.
This man here has a different aura altogether.
I never had imagined that I'll be doing this ever in my life. But here I am, at his training academy, about to get my ass kicked nice and hot.
I really need to complete this if I want to earn that rapport back.
That is as much important as me going back to Jane.
She is one woman driving me crazy.
I've worked out enough in Gym all these years, thanks to all the bones I need to move and replace in surgeries, I needed the strength.
After that conversation with Colonel, I understood that my preparations were far from enough.
Sweating three hours extra daily at the Gym for past one month, I thought I'll be close to what's needed.
But the moment you step in this place, you feel weaker than the first year Cadet who gets screwed for 18 hours a day. How can you even think you are better than him?
Am I really ready?
What if I fail today?
I had to literally beg Colonel to give me this chance. If I don't get this shot right, he won't let me meet Jane. And that is something I can't even imagine.
One month without seeing her has been so difficult, I don't know how I managed to survive. I need her with me at all cost.
But one look at Wills crushes all my determination.
One month back he was limping.
And look at him today - he is fit as a horse. Who got him back on track? Colonel James obviously.
His standards of physical activity are far far above mine.
No matter how good I do, I don't think I'll be able to earn my apology.
"Stop pushing yourself down, sir."
My thought was stopped on track by his voice.
Ah! He's still calling me sir!
"I- um..."
Should I say that I'm not prepared?
"You had one month to decide that. You can't back out now."
He said sternly.
How does he hear everything that I'm talking to myself?!!!
"Yes sir."
I said hesitantly.
"You know you have two things at stake here, right?"
"Yes sir."
"That's more than enough to give you fuel tonight. And as a father, I'd only let my daughter date a man of his words. You promised you'll prove yourself. You better do."
His words sound more of a challenge than warning.
I can do it. I will do it.
I'll win his trust back.
"Yes sir."
I replied confidently.
"That's what I wanted to hear."
He said with a small smile on his lips.
This man is freaking genius. It took only 2 minutes for him to turn me from hesitant to confident.
Respect for him.

REN'S POV:
After dinner, I rushed to the med care and picked up the medical documents I've prepared for Wills, Kyra and Philip sir.
Just before I was about to enter Colonel's office, I saw Roshesh dancing his way to the office, too. He was clearly drunk. So much so that he was not able to walk straight.
Why is he here? To accompany and cheer his sister?
Kadner Sir and definitely Colonel won't entertain a drunk man as an audience for the schedule. And how did he manage to get this drunk in the first place?
Worst fears crossed my mind. He has been made to drink so much and he's here to join the guys.
Darn No!
I knocked and walked into the office before him to see Colonel and Kadner sir standing there.
I saluted him and then handed over the documents. That was the norm.
And everytime I do this, I feel a little honoured. He doesn't need any written permission from anyone to screw somebody. Still, he makes all of them go through me and if I say he is not fit, he won't touch him. That's the respect I have as a medic here, and that's the only reason I'm sticking with this profession.
"There's another addition to the list, Captain Renee."
He said casually and Kadner Sir's face turned pale.
"Officer Roshesh will be joining these three."
"Sir. He didn't report for his medical, sir."
I try to slide him out somehow.
"He wasn't supposed to. He'll be doing it without the medicals."
Colonel was still calm and I was losing my mind.
Just then Roshesh entered, trying to be sober and trying to maintain his posture like a sane man.
I looked at him with wide eyes, then looked back at Colonel.
"He.. Is not.. Fit to go through such a rigorous routine, Sir. Let me hydrate him first."
I requested him. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Kadner sir nodding. I knew he wanted his son out badly.
"He is here to prove that he can survive this no matter what. Things have been made worse for him intentionally. Don't worry, he'll be excused as soon as the purpose is served. You stay ready to manage him when he's brought to you."
Just like that?
So easily?
That boy is going all the way down to touch hell, and I'm sure he doesn't even know that.
God, help the poor child.
Colonel is not ready to change the decision. Only you can do something God.
"Keep two stretchers next to the football field."
Colonel ordered and what reply could I give other than 'Yes sir.'
I turned around and looked at Roshesh for the last time. He stood with his eyes on the floor, hands at the back and feet apart.
Anyone looking at him now can't say that mentally he's high up there. But I know that boy is going to be crying soon.
---------------------------------------------------------
KYRA'S POV:
Stretching, we all stand in line on the football field right in the middle of the ground waiting for Colonel to start the schedule. I have no idea what it entails but seeing the preparation before me, I feel like a well-fed goat about to be slaughtered. The football field looks ominous as it is. I can almost feel the curiosity of the entire KMA and yet there is not a soul in sight. No doubt, fear is their only motivator.
Right on time, Colonel walks in with a hiccuping Roshesh carrying three water canteens and a constipated looking Dad. What the hell went wrong now?
Roshesh puts his canteens down on the side and joins us. What the hell? Is he going to be joining us now? Why?
"Do you know what is AMRAPs, Cadet?"
"Yes, sir. In a given time, you do As Many Reps As Possible"
"You understand that Major Philips?"
"No, sir" Shit! I thought I was clear. But then again, he is not from the same background.
"Wills?"
"Instructor Kelly would list out exercises and counts of each exercise. The entire list is one set. Doing the entire set is Rep 1. Repeat it again and it is set 2(or Rep 2.). In the time given, we have to try and do as many repetitions as possible."
"Now, Major?"
"Understood, sir."
"Good. Major Wills step forward. Officer, step back. The entire schedule is AMRAPs. Instructor Kelly will give out the list and monitor the clock." He continued looking at me and Major Philips, "You may look at Major Wills in case you do not know a specific exercise. And Major Wills will be the reference." Oh thank God! There may be some exercises whose names may be different or I would have never done it. Atleast I won't be looking like a complete fool!
"Kyra, anything below 70% of the reference" he said pointing at Major Wills and then back to me "and you are out. Do not bother finishing the schedule."
And I'm dead!
He nodded at Instructor Kelly and with a smile, the Instructor said, "When I say "Go", you will start and when I say "Stop", I want to hear the reps you completed in order of Major Wills, Major Philips, Kyra and Officer Roshesh. Let's warm you up. 10 high knees, 10 jumping jacks, 10 push ups and 10 squats. Go"
It is a good exercise for the brain too. Remember the list in exact order and keep your count as well as look ahead at Major Reference.
By the time he said Stop- it was 5 minutes, and it was a true warm up. Sweat had already accumulated on our foreheads, armpits and back.
"11" "9" "9" "6" What? Roshesh is so behind. How is that possible?
"Let's start nice and easy - 5 Burpees, 10 Squats, 5 Burpees, 10 Situps, 5 Burpees and 10 Lungees. 15 minutes. Go."
Each rep made sure my breath was lodged in my throat and sweat was slowly racing down my back and across my face. This is neither nice nor easy.
"Stop"
"8" "6" "7" "4"
I'm so tempted to see if Roshesh is alright. But before I get the chance to sneak in a view, Roshesh runs to the side and empties his guts in a bucket. What the hell? This is not like him.
Oh shit? It smells like he puked his drink out. What the hell? Is he drunk?
"Drink up again, Officer. Half of that canteen and join them fast." Colonel says and Roshesh looks more sick if that is even possible. I hope that is water and not alcohol he is drinking.
"10 burpees; 20 pushups; 30 sit ups; 40 squats; 50 sec plank- 20 minutes. Go" Fan-fucking-tastic. By the end of this, that is to say I might make it to the end, my legs would be pure jelly shivering under my own weight. Why is he so hell bent on killing my poor legs?
"7" "4" "5"
I barely wheeze out and glare at Major before me. That asshole just had to do 7. If he goes slow, I can go a little slow. This tempo is right now killer. How are we to last the entire schedule if he keeps going at this speed?
"1" Roshesh says pressing his lips hard. Oh brother, I hope this is not being recorded somewhere.
There's a sign of worry on Dad's face. He kept looking at me and Roshesh in turns. That was not his usual 'I have an eye on you two, better perform your best' look. It felt like he was worried that some bomb might go off anytime.
"Suicides up and down the football field- 5 minutes" Finally, some relief. Thank you to whoever came up with this crazy schedule.
"7" "6" "7" "3"
"Kyra, get up and get out."

Prescott's POV:
I was shocked at the sudden burst of anger. Colonel looked angry enough to burst.
"Sir... She....?"
I looked at him, requesting him to atleast tell me what went wrong.
"Tell him what you did."
He looked at my poor girl.
"I said wrong counts."
She said with her eyes on floor.
I couldn't believe my ears. I was so focused on Roshesh that I didn't keep a count of her reps. But never in my dreams I thought she'll cheat.
It was indeed a stupid thing to do in front of Colonel.
"Are you out of your mind?"
I shouted at her, making her shudder a little.
"Kyra, he is not a perfectionist. Everyone has weaknesses."
Colonel said little calm creeping up his angry tone, and I had no clue what he meant.
"You all will repeat the counts and I don't want anyone to lie again. Start."
"7" "6" "8" "3"
As soon as she blurted the words out, my and dogs' neck jerked towards her.
Dog couldn't believe that she did better than him.
Oh boy his ass is dead.
That's my girl! Bravo!
And so mature of her to lie so that he doesn't fall in trouble. He owes her one! I'm sure he won't like it, specially now when he's been caught lagging behind.
Wills turned around and looked at Colonel in fear.
He raised one eyebrow and bent a little "Get ready to run eight miles extra from tomorrow. If she surpasses you again, you'll get weights added."
He gulped despite his dry throat.
Poor boy.
"Yes sir."
He said and got ready to bring out his reserves. If I were him, I would ensure that I spend every single one of my calorie to stay on top. If anyone outdoes Colonel's reference, it will be a direct ticket to hell. And Wills just got one of those tickets.
"Roshesh."
Ah now my poor son.
"Your pathetic state is doing nothing. Why don't you just go and puke and sleep off. You are ruining the tempo."
Colonel said irritated, intentionally getting on his nerves.
Everyone understood that he's doing it intentionally, except the one drunk man he was talking to.
Stupid boy nodded in promise to perform better.
He has given his everything today - including his sanity to earn his apology from me. Little does he know he got it much before it all started.
---
Roshesh's POV:
My head is spinning from this stupid suicides. Oh, see- s-s- stupid-suicides. I could have been a literary genuis. But here I'm. With one small plate of Chinese in my stomach (which I think I already puked) floating around in beer, vodka and God knows what else pool. If Colonel had me eat more, I would have no space for all this alcohol in my stomach but atleast I wouldn't feel so dizzy. The less the food, the more drunk you feel. Shiiit! This man is as weak in maths as Dad!
I think a smile escaped me and that got Colonel irritated. Fuck! I'll have to try harder. Well, I'm no less drunk than I was a few hours before, or is it not hours? God knows!
I have puked but with 3 water canteens filled with alcohol, I'm drinking atleast some level to what I'm puking and sweating. The burning from the puke makes it so difficult to shove down more alcohol and the headache worsens with each puke. God, end this torture please! And take the whistle of this Kelly-man too. His Go and stop are only making it worse.
Next came abs. I don't know whether to be happy that I'm on my back atleast or cry because I'm going to puke way more now. Come on Dad! Please see, I really really didn't mean to do it. I would never harm them. I couldn't do it even if I wanted to.
---
WILL's POV:
8 extra miles is all I can think about. How the hell will I fit that in my already triple stretched schedule?
And too smart of him to not make it in kms, but almost 1.5 times of it. 8 miles sounds so easy, just that it equals fucking 13 kms! Everyday, I'm running that much and more already!
The number shall remind me of my weakness and cause maximum discomfort. Genius, father!
Nick brother, I need you back here stat. With evening sessions my responsibility, God knows when I'll see a bed properly at night.
If only I could lay my hands on that Bolt cheetah! The brains of her seem to be of a dying donkey! She tried to save my ass by lying!
I don't know whether to praise her or punch her.If she were a cadet here, I would have made her sleep as little as mine for starters!
But she is damn lucky! She is not a cadet here and she is Super Boss's daughter. She better hope our paths don't cross or else I'll find a good one for her.
The only good thing I'm waiting to hear is 'Break off.' The words are far far away but 'Break' would work just fine too. Afterall, the night has just started.
"Who scares you more? Your Dad or mine?" What?!
I look up to see Roshesh looking at me questioning! Oh God! This drunk idiot is going to get me killed with him.
What's up with the siblings? What have I done to them that they're taking revenge for?
"Keep your voice down. Better yet, shut up" I say in the lowest threatening tone I can manage. We have one break in this schedule. I wish to spend it getting rest, not rammed from all sides. Especially with them standing just a few feet away from us.
But it is like kicking a puppy. He looks hurt but shuts up. Thank you! I hope he never turns up as a Senior of mine. I would like to not pay for this comment or ever be in his state. The puking and re-drinking must have burned his throat and destroyed his tongue. Kudos father! You found a new way to get us to control our tongues!
"Officer Roshesh, you are dismissed." says Father in a voice I wish to be spoken with. It is a mixture of pride and astonishment. Congrats man, you made it to his fortified heart!
"Sir, I-"
What? Is this man deaf? Is he going to argue for more torture? Or dare to go against his orders?
"No, son. You are going to medcare with the Captain here." Superboss spoke and I could see the excitement and tears in Roshesh's eyes. He finally called him son. Thank god, he did before the drunk got the better of him and killed us all.
He rubbed his stuffy red nose with the back of his hand, nodded and walked away.
I felt happy for him, but not even an ounce jealous. Man drank litres of fire despite burning throat and crying body to hear the words I so want to hear right now.
Good for him. Good for us.
Time to get back to business.
************************************
So many POVs in one chapter!
Only Colonel and Kelly didn't have a say, rest everyone's voice was heard. I know right!
So this was the first half. Your dear Rosh is all free. Just pray for the three goats remaining on the field!
Till then, bye-bye!
