A Bad Liar
That stupid alarm. It kept beeping and I hated it. It hurt my ears. I sighed. "Peri!"
"Got it." Peri mumbled and to my relief, the terrible beeping stopped. I felt him pull me closer with his arms. Nice and strong. I felt so safe. "Morning."
Oh, right. After our talk and the watery view, Peri took me back to his room and we slept.
I nodded and mumbled something unintelligible. Peri chuckled as I glared at him. I laid my head back on his chest and inhaled his scent. Mmm. It was manly and sweet at the same time.
"Did you just smell me?" Peri's deep voice bore into me.
I sighed. "No!" I did though.
Peri chuckled. "You're a bad liar, Viper."
I nodded. "I know. You know it's my best quality."
Peri nodded. We still hadn't moved.
Peri's door opened and the guys were there again. Citron and Dr. Comet. Great. "Good morning, lovers."
Peri glared at them. "Shut up."
I smiled because Peri didn't deny it. We weren't lovers but I loved the sound of that.
"Are you guys getting up today?" Citron smirked.
Peri stretched. "Yes, now go away. We're practicing after breakfast."
I nodded and didn't move because I couldn't. Peri had a death grip on my back. His arm was wrapped around my back in such a way that stated that I couldn't move yet. I wasn't going anywhere.
"Sure." Dr. Comet smiled at us. "Take your time. Meet us in the cafeteria in an hour." He closed the door.
I yawned. "What time is it?"
Peri sighed and looked at his nightstand. "Four in the afternoon."
I rolled off Peri and sighed as I stretched my body. "Four. Right." Another yawn. "I didn't...thanks for last night, Peri."
Peri smiled. "Welcome, Fifty." I looked at him with confusion. Did he call me fifty and what did that mean? Peri rolled his eyes at me and kept talking. "In the last fight, my thoughts just moved to you. I thought... what if I didn't see you again?"
"It would be my loss." I sighed. I ignored the fifty comment. I didn't know what it meant and I would wait to ask... Later.
Peri rolled onto me. I was stunned. "Ready for some practice?" His yellow eyes were pale and sparkling as he gazed into mine.
I nodded as I stared into his yellow eyes. "You're quite beautiful." I shouldn't have said it.
Peri smiled down at me.
"Am I awake?" I smiled in a daze.
"Very." Peri answered with an actual smile.
I had better be awake. If this was a dream, I was talking to the gods, we were having a really long discussion. Peri's smile just filled my whole being with joy and peace.
His lips met mine and oh... I was goo again. I was always goo in his presence but he was touching me and kissing me and my brain couldn't comprehend this. My body melted and my mouth moaned. My lips wanted to sing his praise as the kiss heated up. Peri was kissing me and my body shivered with excitement. He was kissing me.
Me!
Holy shit!
Our lips moved with each other and I didn't fight him as he slid his tongue into my mouth. I was his for the taking. I'm pathetic, I'm aware. Peri moaned and I smiled. I couldn't help it.
Peri pulled away. "We're not making this a regular thing. I did this out of pity; Losing your memory and everything. It's just pity." He glared at me.
I smiled. "Okay!" Now who's the bad liar? I didn't care why it was happening. "I was turned into a vampire... just one more pity kiss?"
Peri chuckled but complied. His lips touched mine and I got greedy. I pulled him down as we both moaned. His lips were so soft and he tasted so great, so it wasn't my fault. His body was smashed into mine and my body melted into his. I wouldn't be able to do anything to get away at this point.
"Viper." Peri moaned my name, my name that he gave me.
My hands were in his hair and his hands were under my shirt, sliding up my body. His hands were so warm and amazing.
This was when I realized that his horns weren't a crown, they were attached to his head. They were part of him and...I couldn't care less. "Peri!" I don't know why I just thought they were an accessory? But they were part of him. How beautiful.
My exclamation was not my fault either because his hands began to roam all over my body. See, I had to moan his name.
When we came up for air, I sighed. "We have to eat. I heard your stomach growl."
Peri smiled at me. "You care?"
"Only because it's annoying!" I lied and he knew it too. I cared more about him than my own well being. He was mine and I wasn't letting him starve.
Peri laughed. "Viper, you're a trip. Let's go eat before you tear my throat out." I smiled at him as I laughed. I could never hurt him.
"I would never..." I wanted to reassure him.
"Fifty, I know.... Baby." And I was done for. Peri just sealed my feelings for him with his words. He called me Baby. His lips met mine again and I was gone for sure. I was his.
We walked to the cafeteria in silence. I got my food from my cooler as Peri got his meal. We sat together and I figured people would stare. We were never together. We would sit at the same table but I always sat with Citron across the table. Today, I was sitting beside Peri. I smiled at him. "People are staring at us!"
Peri glared. "So." He plopped his gun on the table and glared at everyone. I just chuckled.
I couldn't keep myself together. I was butter, soft and melted.
I drank my meal as Peri dug into his. We totally forgot that we were supposed to meet Dr. Comet and Citron. Oops. They showed up anyway making snarky comments the whole time. Citron was anyway.
We got away for a few minutes, just us before we practiced. We didn't really talk about making out or anything and maybe we didn't need to either. I was taking my cues from Peri.
"Should we talk, Fifty?" Peri watched me sit and stare at him.
"First, why are you calling me fifty? What is that?" I had to ask that first if he was in the mood to talk.
Peri blushed and I smiled as I watched. He was gorgeous when he blushed. "Fifty. You are my other half. Fifty percent of me. My fifty."
I was a mess. That was probably the sweetest thing anyone ever said to me. Of course my memory isn't that long. I was fifty; half of Peri. Aww.
I had no words.
"Did you know that when I touch you, at first you're cold and with prolonged touch, your body temperature adjusts to match mine?" Peri watched me.
"I'm still on the fifty thing!" I smiled at him. "Peri, you're just the sweetest... and I won't tell a soul!"
Peri chuckled. "Who would believe you?"
I nodded. "So, my temperature adjusts?"
"It does. Dr. Comet would love to experiment." Peri smiled at me.
"He would. I'm busy right now though." I smiled at my Peri. I was his fifty!
"Another thing, I can't shoot you. I tried the first day you were here and I can't pull the trigger." Peri admitted.
I stared at him. "You tried to shoot me!"
Peri chuckled. "I did, several times but I just couldn't do it. My finger wouldn't pull the trigger."
"Good. You're cursed too!" I smiled as I laid my head on Peri's shoulder. "I can't attack you or defend myself against you in a serious fight."
Peri took my hand in his and our fingers interlaced. I sighed as we just sat in our silent bubble.
"I can't hate you like I wanted to." Peri sighed. He sounded very disappointed and we both just chuckled. It echoed in the stairwell. I never thought that we would get to laugh together like this. I reveled in the thought that even our laughs got mixed together in that stairwell as they echoed.
