Curing Wounds, Switching Classes

Reiji's fatigue on top of Olivia's weight was a bit too much for him to handle on his way to the doctor's office, trying his hardest not to drop her body when the scream of a young woman in front of him stopped him.

"What are you doing with this girl? Something indecent?"

"No, um, she got hurt in the gym and I'm trying to get to the doctor's office."

"Oh well in that case," asking him to put her standing so she could slide under one of her arms, "hold her up by her arms. Granted my physical acumen isn't on par, but it won't hurt as much for you," immediately pressed, but lifted her up with his help. He followed her instructions pretty well, getting a good look at her, a dark brunette with lighter green dye, professional clothing despite the open dress code, and a figure that resembled Olivia in skin, but a tougher build and cadence.

As they almost got there, the young lady's body was getting tired, but she was determined to get her there.

"June, that's where you went," said the sound of a more bubbly, yet upbeat voice of a male figure with red hair and a more stylish outfit. "The substitute teacher was asking for you, there's a bit of a fight going on."

"What? Hold on Micah." However, he lifted Olivia's body up by the legs, forcing them to move faster. He pounded on the door rapidly until the doctor opened up with an annoyed state.

"It's only the second week, what's-oh crap. Bring her here quick," she claimed, setting everything aside for the three to rest the body there. She did quick work analyzing and using the supplies, confirming she was alive. Reiji's explanation of what happened made sense, and she placed an ice pack

"She's okay, just needs some ice therapy. You all can head back to class."

"Can I stay," Reiji asked. "And I can write a report for later."

"I will too," June claimed. "Any reprehensible behavior should be reprimanded properly. As a member of the social broadcasting club, we have to ensure the worst of the school is on display to remind the students to be better!"

Micah awkwardly tapped her on the shoulder. "We have a problem. Um Ms. Jones is having trouble, there's a fight upstairs."

"WHAT? Why did you tell me sooner?"

"You were so cute trying to help, it kinda slipped my mind."

June's rage and flustering feelings mixed into one as she apologized to Reiji and rushed off. Before he left, Micah gave a confused Reiji some context.

"She's super serious about everything, but that's what makes her so cool. You got someone like that you just want to tease?"

"Well not tease," staring down at Olivia, "but I could say that about someone one day."

"Nice mood," giving him a thumbs up. "If you need some smooth sophomores, you know who to call."

Later on, Olivia woke up to the sight of the doctor checking her head.

"What happened?"

"You had some hyperthermia issues. That punch and Orchid working you to the bone must've done numbers for your body. Thankfully your friend got here in time."

Olivia put two and two together, twirling her hair and thinking she had to thank him for later. However, when she met up with the others, she had a statement.

"I want to transfer classes," revealing that they were some of the ones responsible for how she was treated before the ones before high school.

"I spent my summer trying to forget all of that. And I won't let them ruin my school experience," brimming with confidence before reverting back to shaking and anxious waves of her palms. "Um, it's like I want you all to come with me," rather quickly, "but," running out of breath.

"Sure. I don't mind."

His words stopped the shaking. "You mean that?"

"Why not? Misery builds character, but a foundation built on misery will always crumble," speaking with wisdom. "Or so I heard."

I'm in, screw this pricks, Gira typed. And Basile nodded.

She brought them all in for a hug, thanking them. They all went to the guidance counselor and the deans about what to do. Pyrite laughed, calling them soft, when Vival disagreed.

"I'll give that class a talk too, but it's brave of you to find a switch. I hope your experience in the next class will be much more enduring."

The next day, the quartet arrived at their new class, where the teacher introduced them with the annoyance of introducing five new people to the roster.

Um, there's four of us.

"No using your phone in class," only for Gira to show her a picture that made him retract that statement.

"Lilith Crane?"

A young woman with shaggy, untrimmed hair, unfocused gaze, and the "I clearly don't want to be here" movement walking back and forth between choosing to enter when one of the guys started spinning his hands back to himself.

"It's Lilly. My mom had a twisted sense of humor when she named me."

"More like dark," one snickered with various comments about her lack of a fashion sense.

"Ignore them," said the guy rolling his hands. "They're still stuck in their 'we're so cool but wonder why girls won't date us' attitude."

"You wanna fight an alpha male, Jalecki?"

Jalecki got up and side stepped him. When he was about to strike him, a loud dog barking frightened the guy and caused him to trip. Jalecki thanked his pet outside and jumped over him, cartwheeling over to the new students.

"Good to see you again Lilly. Staying this time?"

"Yeah," hiding her expression under the scarf. "I'll think about it."

He brought over to her seat and invited the others to join. "We got some bad apples, but even rotten fruit can be recycled."

"You're a class president, not a pastor, wolf boy."

"Don't be mad because I'm right."

The teacher sighed. "Can you five promise you'll make this semester a bit more tolerable?"

Reiji was the only one with a bright response and Olivia nodded.

"We'll transform it from tolerable to terrific!"

"One can only hope. Alright, take your seat."
