Buggy Breakup (Jade/Luke)
While Shane was heading upstairs, Luke Chanson's blue hair and teal-black jacket and pants drifted in the wind while playing his guitar. With this being the year most of them had to get their grades together, a lot of them started to focus more on studying, music was something he knew could continue doing as a career. But getting to college was a good start at the very worst.
But his rhythm lowered to somber and inconsistent as his focus was on Jade Chance, a modelesque teen of a pastry shop with dark-teal hair, and her unique fashion sense of a ladybug, the symbol of luck. Eating some macarons from her parents' pastry shop, her eyes leered toward her screen.
Luke's fingers responded to the excitement in her face as Salvaje Pagano, a teen model who rivaled Harry Styles in popularity, had announced he was going on break from his career to further his education.
"He's probably going to end up going to school in Paris."
She grinned and shook her head, pointing to herself.
"No way, here?"
One nod was all he needed. Then the concern about rich celebrities in such a smaller town housed a lot of potential requiems he wasn't too pleased about dealing with. Sal usually kept a good face about it, but even he could tell the media and his father's chains made him miserable.
"We'll," averting his gaze, "you'll finally get your chance to be together."
Jade stopped sowing. "But we're dating, aren't we?"
Luke's serpent gaze dropped her mood.
"I think we should break up."
Jade temporarily shut down and rebooted. "But I never, did you-"
"You did nothing wrong. But I don't want to stop you from finding the person in your heart."
"Luke, that's not true. You're in my heart."
He took their phones. She swooned over a picture of them together, and heart melted with one of her and Sal.
He laughed while she stuttered around to explain herself.
"It's okay, I know you didn't do anything wrong."
Jade sighed. "I like you Luke. You are the melody that plays in my heart. Sal and I have this connection for sure, but that doesn't mean I care about you any less," exploding passion with each word.
"Then how about a throuple?"
Her family gleamed. "Really?"
His next laughter nearly caused heartburn. "You barely even focus on our relationship, you're not exactly ready for a throuple."
She tripped over as many words as dates she postponed. He quelled her pain.
"I won't hold you back from your sonnet. But it's been about four years. It's about time that you tell him."
Her tears dropped. The year they were together led to some of the more fun memories and Salvaje's schedule was too complicated before, not helped since they lived in two different continents. But this break was more than just an opportunity. One look at her clothes and another at him. Not only were the passionate flames in her hearts, the dream of her designs on his body was too good to pass up.
"Okay," giving Luke one last kiss on the lips. "Friends?"
"Friends."
The two hugged but a vibration on her leg and a phone unlock led her to rush out.
"Music connects everyone together," accepting the dripping of his watery eyes.
"And yet I still lose everyone to it."
Shane had stared at the heart card his friend borrowed to ask their crush out. Then he realized he didn't know what the spade card meant, thinking to ask Luke about that and advice with a certain girl.
And overhearing Luke and Jade's breakup was the last thing he expected as she ran out and he caught the most mellow person he knew sobbing.
