Vanitas opened his eyes alarmed, looking around finding shackles on him. "Hello!" A winged girl with fiery orange hair hovered there, a warm smile on her face. "Brought you food!" She set down a plate of cut up steak, smiling wide at him. "Eat up! Yum, yum, yum!"She beamed. "Who are you?"Vanitas demands. "I'm Carnelian! My stepdad knocked you out using a tranquilizer, I protested but he doesn't listen to me! Always says it's for MY safety that guests or prisoners be knocked out upon arrival." Vanitas stared at her, surprised when he saw the smoke coming from her wings. "Oh I'm a Phoenix, an experimental one! I can very much control it though, don't worry"Carnelian smiled landing beside him, looking satisfied with herself. "Can you free me?"Vanitas asks. "I suppose I could, but my Dad would be LIVID!"Carnelian says.

She flew around him, beating her wings. "Well, I could if you promise me one thing"Carnelian bargains. "What"Vanitas frowned. "You take me with you! That way you can escape and I won't get in trouble!"Carnelian beamed. Vanitas stared at her, weighting the pros and cons of bringing her to the others. On one hand, she'd make pretty good protection, but on another he was pretty sure whoever her stepdad was he'd come after them to possibly get her back, but on a third hand, if Carnelian freed him, she could go her own way and nobody would get hurt, but then on a fourth hand, Carnelian wouldn't have anywhere to go and she'd be wondering around until someone with possibly bad intentions found her and earned her trust. "Alright, you can come with"Vanitas nodded.

Carnelian beamed and flew closer, her hand raised. "Carnelian!!" She stopped, looking back at a black haired man. "Shoot, that's my Dad! He'll see you escape!"Carnelian gasped. She tapped her chin, then smiled at him. "I'll come back tonight or early in the morning! I'll free you then and we can get out of here!"Carnelian beams. "You'll keep your word and free me?"Vanitas asks. "I never lie, I'll free you, promise!"Carnelian beamed. She flew down, landing beside the man and walking inside. Vanitas stared, then spotted white hair, a smile appearing when he recognized the face of the figure coming closer towards the pillar he's shackled to.

Carnelian walked through the dark halls, checking every corner as she headed to free her new friend. She pushed the front door open, quietly closing it and lifted into the air. "Vanitas!"Carnelian smiled. Vanitas opened his eyes, looking at her in surprise. "I promised didn't I!"Carnelian beamed. She grabbed his shackles, burning them until they were nothing but metal puddles. She grabbed his hand, flying down to the grass below. "My acquaintance is here, come on follow me"Vanitas informs. "No you go ahead"Carnelian smiled flicking her wings back. He looked at her, Carnelian looking away. "I'm gonna explore the world a little, then I'll come find you"Carnelian says looking at him. "Are you sure?"Vanitas demands alarmed. She smiled again and nodded.

"I'm sure, I wanna see what's out there, and choose for myself who I wanna be now"Carnelian explains looking towards the moon. "Vanitas, come on!" He looked towards the voice then back at Carnelian. "Maybe be safe out there and be more cautious of people, they're not as nice as me"Vanitas advises. She smiled at him and spread her wings out, lifting back into the air. Vanitas grabbed her hand, stopping her. "Come find me when you're done"Vanitas orders. She laughed, smiling at him. "I will!"Carnelian beamed. He slowly let go of her hand, watching her fly away towards the moon. "Coming Noè!"Vanitas says quickly vanishing into the greenery. He looked back towards Carnelian, following Noè, a small smile on his face.
