Chapter 1 - Home Sweet Home
Chapter 1 - Home Sweet Home
Kassidy's POV. -
Forks.
That was the town I'm moving to right now. Forks, Washington. From what I heard it's a small town within the rolling mountains and tall pine trees with a population I believe is three thousand people at the most.
And of course it rains alot.
A yawn left my lips as I lean my head against the window of the car, the cold temperature cooling my cheek.
Hmmm..I wonder how that town got its name. I thought to myself.
A silverware?
"We're here." Mom said. I peered out the window as the small town came into view through the thick swirling fog.
We drove past a sign that read.
‘The City of Forks Welcomes You’
As we drove through the town there really wasn't much there besides a small welcome center, a Carvers cafe, the police station and the hospital.
I don't know why we have to move here.
Like I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it since she remarried and I'm happy that she is happy to find someone that loves her and I don't mind the move but I don't see anything here that is thrilling and it rains a lot
Mom turned left on the intersection and continued down the road.
She pointed at a sign reading, 'Fork's High School: Home of the Spartans'
"See that school there Kassidy?" I nodded. "That's where you'll be starting Monday."
My stomach flipped. I wasn't ready to talk about school. All I said in response is, "Cool."
I felt her giving me a glance then went back to the road. "Sweetheart, I know the whole moving thing is hard to grasp but trust me things are going to be ok." I nodded again before deciding to rest my eyes a bit.
It hasn't even been five minutes (well to me anyways) when I felt the vehicle hit gravel.
"We're here." I heard mom sing. "Wake up sweetie."
I groaned before reopening my eyes to see us pulling up to a pretty single story light colored brick house with two garages. “Is this our house?”
“That’s right.” Mom responded before she opened the car door and slipped out. “C’mon lets go see the house.”
Joy.
Stepping out of the vehicle after undoing my seatbelt, I was struck by the pungent smell of rain and pine, which pervaded the air around me. It's beautiful here, I can say that.
The dense forest, and the mist fog clung to the ground like a protective veil. As I took a deep breath inhaling the cool air; letting it fill my lungs before exhaling. The sound of a distant stream added to the symphony of nature, making me feel quite at ease and less anxious from the long travel. I then climbed the brick porch steps and entered my now home sweet home.
(A/N: This is my first Twilight fanfic. Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas you'd like to see in the story!)
