BACKSTORY (some of it may be altered, according to her crush)

mia was born to muggle parents macy and michael and the young parents loved their child. at 4, strange things started to happen around the child. keys would disappear when it was time for michael to go to work, and they would be found in her hands. her favourite teddy bear would be up on a high shelf one minute, and the following minute it would be in her hand.

this is why when professor flitwick had appeared in front of their door, explaining all about magic, and the wizarding world, mia did not feel scared, or confused. she felt relieved. relieved that she would be normal when she attended hogwarts, surrounded by people who were just like her.

she fell in love with magic before she ever got on the hogwarts express, but the months leading up to her first year, she noticed her parents would fight more, mostly about her. she hated being the cause for her parents fighting, and even hoped that things would get better when she left.

however, the young witch was mistaken as when she went back home for christmas, she found only her father waiting for her. he told her that her mother had left them, too scared by what she could not understand about her own child. she just up and left. this left the girl sad and feeling guiltier than ever, but her father promised her that it was not her fault, and that he loved her so much.

this made mia work extra hard in school to get her father to be proud of her, so it was no surprise when she graduated with all her O.W.Ls and 10 N.E.W.Ts, being one of the students who ended up at the top of the classes and coming first in charms.

at 11, she met lily, alice and mary, whom she roomed with and clicked instantly with her fellow female gryffindors. it wasn't until third year that she made friends with the marauders when she came upon them learning to become animagi, and upon learning the reason, decided to join them and help them.

 she saw james potter as more of an annoying older brother whilst sirius black was an enigma, confusing the girl to no end with his constant need for dramatics and mood swings. remus lupin was the sweetest male she knew and peter pettigrew... she could not put a finger on why she did not like him. however she still tolerated him because of the other three. eventually, they became like family to her, even after hogwarts.

in fact, when james and lily died, alice and frank were sent to st.mungo's, sirius was sent to azkaban and peter was 'killed', she found herself lost, not knowing what to do with herself. she had tried to grieve with remus, but the werewolf pushed the girl away. dumbledore would not even give her harry, even though she had a right to him, insisting he'd be safer in some muggle home than with her. she ended up spending the first few months in a constant cycle between drinking and mourning. mourning her friends who died. mourning her friends who could not remember her anymore. mourning her friend who would not let her in. and finally, mourning the child of her two best friends who had not died, but whom she was not allowed to see.

then, she started a job at the ministry of magic, where she met arthur weasley. the man and his wife, along with their children, brought some light back into her world. she worked her way up in the ministy, in the department for the regulation and control of magical creatures, where she did her best to make remus' life easier by pushing for fairer werewolf legislations.
