BACKSTORY

melody was born in a little town in england to a single woman, maggie thorn. growing up, she recalls being raised by her grandparents along with her mother, but unfortunately, her grandparents died when the girl was just 7 years old. she attended school, but she always felt different.

her mother started noticing weird things happening ever since melody was a child. once, the woman would take the girl's teething toy away for the night, and in the morning she'd find it in melody's mouth. she would be left astounded as she wouldn't know how the toddler could have got it.

when melody was 8, she got so mad while doing her math homework that the book flewe across the room. her mother thought that she had thrown it and she had got into trouble for it, but the little 8 year old was sure she hadn't been the one to throw it. another time, she was in school, and she couldn't see the board clearly from where she sat and the teacher kept asking her to read, ignoring the girl's comments about not being able to see clearly. the teacher had left school that day with bright red hair, and nobody knew how it got that way.

when melody got her hogwarts letter, it seemed as if everything fit. everything finally made sense to the little girl. she wasn't odd and there was nothing wrong with her. she had magic. professor mcgonagall had taken the girl to diagon alley in order to get her school things and it was there that she got her wand, as well as her pet cat, frost.

on the hogwarts express, the girl met two redhead twins with whom she immediately connected as they were quite the sociable, humerous pair. upon her sorting, she was a bit upset about not being with her newfound friends, but she quickly made more friends, cedric diggory and hannah abott.

harry potter started school during the girl's third year, and she feels bad that the boy has to endure so much. during her fourth year, she is the one to find one of her muggle born friend's body lying, petrified on the floor near the hufflepuff common room entrance and it leaves her quite scared for days.

during her fifth year, remus lupin came to teach and she loved his teaching methods, however, he seemed to recognize her. it is later revealed that he was her father. luckily, she did not inherit his lycanthropy (full story once you get to know her). they attempt to bond and the girl quickly takes a liking to having a father figure in her life.

during her sixth year, she tried to enter the triwizard tournament in hopes that her dear friend, cedric, would not be chosen, but her attempt was in vain. cedric's death takes a toll on her, both mentally and physically as she refuses to come out of her dorms for days after his passing.

during her seventh year, she joined the da along with most of her friends. she despised umbridge and got detention once for speaking out against her. she also joined the rest in the battle in the department of mysteries.

she fought with the order during the war and stuck with her boyfriend, fred during most of the war. when the explosion happened, she is with him and they both survive (he ain't dying here). after the war, they both go live in the flat above the shop with george. they get married about 2 years after the war.
