Chapter 2 - New Challengers
ONCE again you watched as heads were all turning and staring at you as Noctis drove through campus as he headed for the Admissions office parking lot. And sure there may not have been as many heads turning around this time. But it was still a bit unnerving to be looked at like a circus animal or something. And that was only because some were surprised and smiling at the car. While others actually frowned at it, like it left a bad taste in their mouth.
"I was hoping for a better reception then this." Noctis said as he pulled into the parking lot. "But I guess it doesn't matter where we go. It'll always be the same."
"What do you mean?" You asked him as he parked the car and turned off the engine.
"Not everyone reacts the same way to someone with power and money like you do." Noctis said as he turned and looked at you. "In fact, I don't think any of it has ever really bothered you."
"I wouldn't go quite that far." You said right as you heard Jason's car come pulling up.
Both of you turned and looked, and saw Jason and Brady climb out of the car. Noctis gave them a once over as they stood there in only jeans and t-shirts looking totally relaxed. Jason ran his hand through his hair as he scanned the parking lot. Brady simply grabbed their bags out of the trunk and walked over to Jason and handed him his bag.
"Is that them?" Noctis asked without taking his eyes off of them as they leaned up against Jason's car while they looked around for you.
"It is." You said with a smile at them before you grabbed Noctis' hand. "Let me introduce you to them."
Noctis looked back at you with a nervous glance. "I'm only suppose to drop you off. Remember?"
"Right." You said with a slight frown. "Maybe next time?"
"Maybe." Noctis replied with a frown as he could feel your disappointment.
Then you leaned over and gave him a peck on the cheek. Immediately his heart skipped a beat. He closed his eyes as your gently scent filled his senses.
"Thanks for the ride." You said as you grabbed your bag before you climbed out. "I'll see you this afternoon."
Noctis then slightly jumped as the car door snapped him out of his thoughts. He opened his eyes and followed you as you walked around the car and up to Jason and Brady. Jason gave you his dazzling smile as he grabbed your hand and gave it a kiss. Then he pulled you closer and kissed each of your cheeks in turn. You stood there in shock as your cheeks heated up to a deep red.
Noctis clamped his jaw and tightly grabbed his steering wheel as he felt his temper starting to take over. He quickly started his car so that he could leave before he flew out of the car and hit this unknown blonde. He then quickly backed up. And with one last glance at you, he shifted gears, and slammed on the gas. You slightly jumped as he peeled out of the parking lot, leaving behind two black tire tracks in his wake.
You felt your heart sink as you watched Noctis fly out of the parking lot and through campus as he left. The roar of his engine shattered the quiet morning as it changed pitch with each shift of the gears. There was no doubt in your mind that he was pissed. And based on the royal black car trying desperately to catch up with him, you knew that you would hear about it when you saw him later.
"Seems like your ride was in a bit of a rush. Doesn't it?" Jason asked as he watched Noctis' car flying past everyone.
"No. That's not quite it." You quietly replied in a low tone.
"Well I hope that everything is okay."
"Me to." You replied as you watched Noctis' car leave until all you heard was the usual campus noise.
Well, there's not much we can do about it at the moment. But we do need to head to class." Jason said as he pulled you towards the sidewalk.
"Right." You replied as you let him drag you away from the parking lot.
After going to your Computer Technology class in the building you went to the day before. You found yourself walking up to the campus library. Jason and Brady were walking on either side of you. Which made you feel a bit better, considering that everyone you walked past seemed to be staring at you again.
"Our class is just in the next building." Jason was saying as they stopped just in front of the door. "We'll come get you when we're done so that we can go grab some lunch."
"You don't have to do that." You said as you moved your hair behind your ear. "You must have better things to do than worry about me."
"Are you kidding?" Jason asked with a smile as he stepped forward and grabbed your hand. "You have been a breath of fresh air for both of us. We wouldn't want to eat without you now."
"Um." You replied as you felt your heart starting to race from him being so forward with you.
"Down, Jay." Brady said as he came up and placed his hand on Jason's shoulder and slightly pulled him back. "You know the rules."
"How can I forget." Jason said in a disgruntled tone as he took a step back from you and released your hand.
"And I don't think you want me to challenge you again." Brady said with a smirk. "Unless you want to lose again?"
"No." He quietly replied as he racked his fingers through his hair and rolled his head to one side.
"Challenge?" You asked as you gave Brady a curious look as Jason slightly turned away from you. "What kind of challenge?"
"Jay and I have a deal." Brady started to explain as he turned to face you as Jason grunted and turned completely around. "That every time he tries to hit on you or anyone for that matter, he has to beat me on the 10-foot platform dive off before he can ask them out on a date."
"Really?" You asked as you slightly smiled. "And what happens if he loses?"
"Jay?" Brady asked as he turned and looked at Jason with a sinister grin. "Would you mind explain what happens if you lose?"
Jason groaned before he dropped his head as he slowly turned around and looked back at you. "I have to spar with Brady in kickboxing for a hour in the gym."
You couldn't help but to stare at Jason in shock as your jaw slowly dropped. You have got to be fucking kidding me.
"Are you serious?" You finally asked.
"As a heart attack." Jason said with a slight smile.
"I take it that you haven't beaten him yet?" You asked as you watched Jason shift his feet.
Brady snorted beside you.
"Hey!" Jason said as if he was offended. "I've beaten you."
"Really?" You asked as you looked at him. "How many times?"
"In diving? Once." Jason quietly said as he looked away.
Brady snorted again. "Barely."
"Shut up!" Jason yelled at Brady.
Suddenly Brady's phone went off. He pulled it out of his back pocket. You watched his face drop a bit before he turned and looked back at Jason.
"We can talk about this as we walk to class." He said before he looked at you. "We'll see you in about an hour or so."
"Okay." You replied with a slight smile. These two have got to meet the guys. They would get along great with all of them.
Then before Jason could say another word, Brady started to drag him off. You couldn't help but smile and wave at them as Jason was protesting to Brady as he dragging him away by his arm. They certainly were an interesting pair. Especially after learning about their love for diving and their skills in kickboxing. It helped you understand why Ignis trusted these two.
Leave it to you Iggy to find the only two guys on a huge college campus who have almost everything in common with the rest of the group. You thought to yourself as you headed into the library.
After being blown away by how gorgeous the huge front foyer was as soon as you walked through the door. You found a nice quiet area to study that was up on the second floor by the periodicals. Which worked out perfectly, since you needed the history books that were also there that covered the theories related to the creation of the Ring of Lucis. Which was for one of your assignments from Korn.
You sat your bag down on one of the tables and walked over to the bookshelves as you tried to find what you were looking for. But once you spotted the books you needed, you couldn't help but to sigh. Because of course, all of the books you needed were on the top shelf. And when you looked around, you didn't see any of those step stools that the librarians used to reshelf the books.
Great. You thought as you stood up on your tiptoes and tried to reach the edge of the shelves.
But your heart dropped as your fingers were just short of grabbing the spine of the one that you really needed. You lightly grabbed the shelf as you tried to reach up higher by using it as a leverage. This almost worked as you could touch the spine. But as you tried to pull it down, your fingers kept slipping.
"Here." You heard a smooth, slightly accented voice say from behind you. "Let me get that for you."
Then before you could say anything, you felt someone lightly press up against you as they reached up to your hand. That was when you caught the faint hint of a spicy cologne that made your heart stop. But before you could move, they had the book in their hand as they backed up from you. You swallowed as you took a shallow breath and slowly turned around.
When you did, you were greeted by a short-blonde, dark green eyed, guy who didn't look much older than Ignis. He was wearing blue jeans and a completely undone, dark-blue button up shirt, with a white t-shirt underneath. He gave you a gentle smile as he stood in front of you, holding out the book to you. Then he slightly narrowed his eyes and did a full scan of you with his eyes.
You couldn't seem to move as you stared at him. Because he somehow seemed familiar to you. Although you couldn't seem to place from where. Let alone from when.
"This was the book you needed. Right?" He asked as he scanned your face.
"Yes....thank you." You quietly said as you took the book from him. "Have we met before?"
"I don't think so." He replied with a slight smile as his eyes slowly scanned over your body. "I would certainly remember meeting someone as gorgeous as you."
You turned away from him as you tried to hide the heat rising up in your cheeks. "Oh. Thank you. But I guess I was thinking of someone else."
"That's a shame." He replied as he gave you a half smile. "I was kinda hoping that you were thinking of me."
"Sorry, but no." You replied as you moved your hair behind your ear as you started to turn away from him. "I should really get to studying."
"Here to." He said as he stood still for a moment and watched you move away from him. "Perhaps I'll see you around campus sometime."
You glanced back at him and gave him a gentle smile. "Perhaps. Thanks again."
He nodded at you, then turned around and walked away. You watched him walk to the end of the bookshelves before he turned and headed over to a table at the far end. That was when you noticed that it looked like his stuff was set up on the table. And as you walked back over to your bag, you saw him sit back down with a book in hand.
Did he have that book when he was by me? I don't remember seeing him with a book besides this one. But then again... You thought nervously as you took your seat. I wasn't really paying attention to his hands.
You then shook off the nervous feeling and got down to work. He wasn't anywhere near you now. And he looked like he was trying to study too. Which was what you had hoped to do yourself.
For lunch you found yourself inside the dining facilities this time since it looked like it was getting ready to rain outside. But you didn't mind. The inside was almost as pretty as the outside. Even though it was a lot busier and louder since everyone seemed to have the same idea.
But it didn't seem to dampen the conversation you were having with Jason and Brady about the next class. Come to find out, everyone had to take the intro class when they first started. It was a required class for all new students. And it was supposed to be as simple as you had hoped it would be.
"Don't sweat that class." Jason was saying as he finished eating his sub-sandwich. "You'll have more of a challenge with your other classes then with that one."
"Like the english class with you?" You asked with a smile as you relaxed after finishing off your food.
Brady gathered up everyone's trash and put it on the lunch tray.
"I can't be that bad." Jason said as Brady walked over to the garbage can that was right behind Jason.
"But I think the harder challenge will be you being on your best behavior around her." Brady said with a smirk as he came back over from dumping the tray.
"You should talk." Jason smirked back. "You're in the same boat."
"(Y/n)? Is that you?" You heard a familiar sassy voice say from beside you.
"Oh shit. You have got to be fucking kidding me." You heard another familiar voice say. "How the hell did they let you in here? Aren't you like still a sophmore in high school?"
You weren't as excited to hear the second voice as you were the first. And when you turned around, you felt your heart flip as you came face to face with Gwen and Trish. Gwen gave you a slight smile as her curly blonde hair seemed to cradle her face and add to the short blue jean mini skirt, thin white blouse and high heels. Trish had on a pair of blue skintight pants, white muscle shirt and a thin light green jacket. They looked dressed to kill, compared to you in your simple jeans and t-shirt combo.
"Whoa." Jason said as he looked at them with wide eyes. "You know (Y/n)?"
"We sure do sugar." Trish said as she winked at Jason.
Then you noticed Brady's attitude almost immediately changed from being surprised to ice cold. "I see."
You couldn't help but to feel a bit uncomfortable as you watched the two of them stare each other down. Jason on the other hand seemed to be a bit more relaxed about the whole thing. Plus, he was slightly smiling at Gwen as she shyly smiled back at him. Which made you uncomfortable in a completely different way. Especially since you could have sworn that Gwen was still with Prompto.
But after a few awkward moments, you finally couldn't stand it and decided to introduce everyone. "Jason, Brady, might I introduce you to Trish and Gwen. Trish, Gwen, this it Jason and Brady."
Each of them nodded or smiled as their names were said. But none of them looked at you as you said their names. Instead they kept their eyes fixed where they had been. Jason seemed to be enjoying the silent flirting with Gwen. Where Brady and Trish seemed to in a stare down to the death.
You slightly shook your head as you took a glance as your phone and saw that your next class would be starting soon. "Well now that introductions are out of the way. I should really get going. I'll leave you all here so that you can get acquainted. While I excuse myself and head to my next class."
But as you stood up and turned to leave. You were stopped in your tracks as Trish caught your arm. You immediately stopped and looked at her hand. Then you slowly looked up at her with a stern look.
"I don't think so." Trish said in a low tone.
"Would you mind removing your hand from my arm?" You said in a stern voice to match your eyes.
"But I'm not done talking to you yet." She continued with slight smirk.
Brady raised an eyebrow as he looked at you. But then he noticed your tension and stood up as well. Then he quickly moved up beside you and grabbed her wrist. Trish gave him a surprised look as he slightly squeezed her wrist enough to get her to release your arm. Then he released her hand completely when she pulled back.
"How about we keep our hands to ourselves. Shall we?" Brady said in a cold tone.
Trish slowly moved away from the two of you as she eyed him up and down while rubbing her wrist, as he stood firmly beside you. "Of course."
"So what is your next class?" Jason asked as he stood up as he slowly smiled at Gwen as he moved up beside the two of you and placed his hand on Brady's shoulder.
"Essentials in Induction." Gwen replied with a smile to Jason.
"Both of you?" Brady asked without taking his eyes off of Trish.
"Yes." Trish said in a flat tone. "Do you have a problem with that?"
"Not at all." Jason replied as he slightly squeezed Brady's shoulder as a means of calming him back down.
"We were just getting ready to walk (Y/N) to that class." Jason replied with a smile directed straight at Gwen. "You're more than welcome to walk with us."
You felt all the color slowly start to drain out of your face as you pictured class with Trish. Your shitting me.
Brady quickly nudged Jason in the ribs when he saw your face turn almost pure white.
But Jason just brushed it off as he placed one hand on the small of your back and his other one on Gwen's. "Shall we head out ladies?"
This left Brady and Trish following behind as they continued their stare down. You tried to hide your cheeks as they heated up as the five of you walked through the crowded dining facilities and out the door as you headed to class. The whole room seemed to be staring at you as you walked past. And the whole time you could picture them all asking themselves, why were you, of all people, walking with four of the richest kids in school. Which of course made you wonder the same thing.
As you came into the huge courtyard outside of the building, you couldn't help but to marvel at the center structure as it dominated the scene with it's tall ivory pillars and solid stone benches. Jason glanced over at you and gave you a smile as you walked towards it. You walked up under the structure and looked straight up at the small round ceiling that barely protected the center of the circle. The circle was one huge solid rock that had been smoothed out and polished.
"Wow." You said as you slowly turned around.
"If you like that. Your going to love the inside." Jason said with a smile, as he moved his hand further around Gwen's waist.
Suddenly Brady grabbed Jason's wrist and pulled it away from Gwen. "Let's just show them inside before someone crosses the wrong line here."
"I think someone needs to mind their own business." Trish said as she grabbed Brady's hand and pulled him closer to her as a means of getting him away from Jason.
"I think someone needs to get a room." You said and walked away from all of them as you entered into the building.
You didn't look back at them as you walked inside and down the hallway that looked like it lead to the classrooms. Then you saw a display board outside a classroom that said 'Essentials in Induction'. And standing right beside it, was the same guy from the library. You slightly narrowed your eyes at him before he disappeared into the classroom.
"Here you go ladies." Jason said with his million dollar smile as everyone stopped just outside the room. "We'll try to be here when you get done."
"But there's no guarantee on that." Brady added quietly beside you.
"Why's that?" You asked as you gave them a puzzled look.
"Well, we have to head over to the pool for a bit. So if we're not here when your done, just swing by the Aquatics center. It's just a block away from here." Brady said as Trish and Gwen both said goodbye to Jason before they entered the classroom.
Then Jason walked up to you and stood in front of you. "Now that their out of the way."
"Are you going to be alright without us?" Jason asked in a serious tone as he looked at you. "You didn't seem to pleased to see them."
You dropped your head and slightly shook it. "I'll be alright. It's not like I haven't had to handle them before."
Then you looked back up at both of them. "I'm more concerned about you two now. Those two can be very persistent when it comes to guys that they are interested in. Or in this case, guys that I know."
They both gave you curious looks.
"What do you mean?" Brady asked with a slight frown.
"Gwen and Trish had both been after Ignis at one point. Gwen especially." You said as you slightly looked off to the side. "I've had to fight off both of them at one point."
Then you looked back up at them. "I just don't want you to go through the same thing"
"Are you worried about us?" Jason asked as he got a devilish grin on his face.
"When it comes to those two? Yes. And especially since they are both great swimmers and Trish is a very talented diver." You added as you watched them carefully.
But the reaction that you were expecting, was the total opposite of what they gave you. Because instead of them both getting excited about potential girlfriends on their team. They both gave you very firm looks. Which took you back as you looked at them.
"How talented?" Brady asked in a firm tone.
"Well, she was right up there with Ignis' scores for her dives at the high school Regionals." You answered honestly.
But when you saw their eyes narrow at you as they locked their jaws. You started to get nervous.
"But I don't think that they will be any competition for you two." You quickly said as you watched them tense up. "I mean, you both have been doing this in college for a couple years now. They both just graduated high school."
"That may be." Jason answered in a flat tone. "But I suppose we'll have to see how things pan out in the pool and on the boards."
You slightly dropped your head again. Competition was healthy in swimming, and you knew that. But you also knew that in college it was a totally different world. In college the goal was to get picked up by a national team. That is, if you wanted to continue competing in the sport. Because just like with the other sports, you had to be the best if you wanted to compete at the national level.
"But hey, you don't need to worry about that." Jason said with a smile. "It's not like you swim or anything."
"Well....actually...." You started to say until you were interrupted.
"Gentleman? Shouldn't you be heading to the pool?" Said a familiar authoritative voice from behind you. "Your team needs you there. Now."
You turned around and saw a tall figure of an older man with brunette hair. His broad shoulders and firm crossed arms made him looked like he could bench press a bus. He was giving them a firm look that made even you back down as if you had done something wrong yourself. Which of course didn't make sense, since you didn't even know the guy.
"Yes, coach." They both quickly said and turned to walk away as the coach walked past you as he headed for the pool.
"Stop by the pool when your done." Jason said to you as he started towards the Aquatics Center. "Okay?"
"Perhaps another time." You replied. "I have plans for tonight."
"Plans?" Jason asked as he stopped in his tracks as he cocked his head to the side. "With who? Your driver from earlier?"
"Well, yes, actually." You replied with a smile.
"Hmm." Jason hummed as he grabbed his chin with one hand and support it with the other. "Will we get to meet this driver?"
"Perhaps." You replied with a slight smile. "But only when he's ready though. He's a bit reserved with it comes to people he doesn't know."
"He? Huh." Jason said as he looked to Brady. "Perhaps we should introduce ourselves."
"That only seems appropriate. Considering he knows her already." Brady replied with a knowing smile.
"Now wait a minute." You tried to interject as they smiled at each other and totally ignored you.
"But we better get to the pool first and quickly take care of what we need to. We certainly don't want to miss a chance to meet the mystery man in the black car." Jason said to Brady as they both turned away from you again and headed for the Aquatics Center.
"Now hold on!" You called after them. "I don't think that that's a good idea. He's really shy."
"You better get to class or you'll be late." Jason said as he waved his hand in the air as they kept walking away.
You groaned after them before you turned and headed into the classroom. Why don't they understand the meaning of 'no'?
Fuck, this isn't good. You thought as you walked into the classroom and felt your heart sink. Noctis is going to flip. He already didn't seem too pleased this morning with Jason's greeting.
"(Y/n)! Come sit by us." Gwen said with her soft smile. "I saved a seat for you."
You sighed as you gave her a gentle smile. Well at least I don't have to worry about them trying to go after Ignis this time. But do I really want them going after Jason and Brady like they had Ignis?
Not that it's any of my business. You thought as you sat down beside Gwen who happily started chatted with you like you were old friends as you got out your notebook and pencil. But still. Do I really want to be apart of any of it?
The professor then came in and started his introduction.
Although, it's not like I even have Ignis to talk to about it. You thought as you once again felt the sting of his absence. "I wish you were here, Ignis."
"Huh?" Gwen asked as she gave you a confused side glance.
"Oh, mm nothing." You said as you shook your head and looked back up at the professor with your pencil ready to go.
~~~~~~~~~~0~~~~~~~~~~
The class itself was exactly as Jason and Brady had described it. Simple and flat out boring. But it did give you a chance to observe the blonde guy as he sat off by himself and quietly took notes. You tried the whole time to place where you had seen him before. But nothing came to mind before the end of class.
"Shall we see if the guys are outside?" Gwen asked with a hopeful grin.
"Not that its any of my business, but aren't you still with Prompto?" You asked Gwen in a serious tone as you gathered up your stuff.
"I'm not going to do anything with Jason." Gwen said with a smirk as she put her notebook back in her messenger bag. "I'm just playing the same game that he is."
"And what game is that?" You asked as you stood up and pulled your own messenger bag over your shoulder.
"The game of tease of course." Trish said with a bored look as she started to lead everyone out of the classroom. "Are you sure that your smart enough to be in college already?"
You dropped your head as you felt your whole face turn bright red. "Yes. But they don't exactly teach you that game in school."
"Have you ever dating anyone? Other than Ignis I mean?" Gwen asked with a slight smile.
"Well....no." You quietly admitted as you walked out of the classroom and headed for the front door.
Trish just shook her head. "You have a lot to learn then, girlfriend."
You clasped your hands in front of you as the three of you merged through the door and back outside. A lot to learn huh? But is it a lesson that I really want to learn?
"There you are." You heard a smooth voice of Jason say from in front of you. "We were beginning to think that you got lost."
You looked up and saw Brady and Jason both underneath the pearly marble structure. They both were narrowing their eyes at you as they gave you a smirk as they watched you approach them. Jason was sitting on the bench with his legs crossed, while Brady was leaning up against one of the pillars. Their looks seemed to be continuing from where they had left off from earlier. But was it really all just a game to them all?
"You made it back in time." Gwen said with a bright smile as she gave Jason a teasing gaze.
"We had to." Jason said as he stood up and walked up the group with Brady right besides him. "There are three beautiful ladies who need our protection."
You rolled your eyes as you continued to walk to the parking lot. Two out of three perhaps. But this girl certainly doesn't need it.
"Aww. You're too sweet." Gwen said as she wrapped her arm around Jason's as they followed you.
"And just what do you think we need protection from?" Trish asked with a side glance to Brady. "I thought the campus was a safe zone?"
"It may be from most outside threats due to security. But I can assure you. There are other threats beside those outside the campus." Brady said in a almost flat tone.
You tightened up your grip on your bag strap as you walked. Because you knew all too well exactly what he was talking about. It may be a college campus. But there is always the usual fear of something happening.
As you walked along you zoned out as you started to recall your dad's concerns about you being on campus without a security detail. He had tried to talk you into having at least one glaive with you the whole time. But after much debate and a few heated words, it was decided that it would make you stand out even more. And the suggestion was tossed aside. Of course having Jason and Brady there to walk you around the campus had really been in your favor. Since then your dad knew that at least you weren't alone.
"Oh..... my...... six?" You suddenly heard Gwen loudly pipe up. "Is that Prince Noctis? What's he doing here?"
You quickly looked up and saw Noctis leaning up against his car in his white t-shirt, blue jeans, and his black ball cap. He wasn't smiling as you came walking towards him. It appeared as if he was still pissed about that morning. And it made you wonder if he got an ear full for leaving his detail like he did.
But as you quickly looked around to see if you could spot them. You were relieved to see the royal car already by the curb as they waited for him to pull back out of the parking lot. And it looked like they were determined to not be left behind again. Which made you wonder how they were going to feel about hanging out at the arcade for the night. Which you were now only slightly excited about after Brian agreed to give you the night off via text message from earlier.
"Prince?" Jason asked in a stunned tone. "What a minute? That can't be thee Prince, as in Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum of Insomnia?"
"One in the same, sugar." Trish said as she batted her eyes at Noctis as we approached him.
"But why is he...?" Jason asked as he gave Gwen a confused look.
"Didn't (y/n) tell you?" She said with a smile as you walked up to Noctis. "She's his retainer."
Now it was Brady and Jason's turn to be shocked as they both turned and looked at you. But you tried to ignore the stares as you walked up to Noctis. and stood in front of him. He crossed his arms in front of himself and gave you a flat stare. Yeah he was more then a bit annoyed. Not that you could blame him. This wasn't exactly how you had pictured the afternoon ending either.
"I see that you have picked up a couple more people." Noctis said in a flat tone. "What are those two doing here?"
"Those two?" You quietly replied as you glanced back at Gwen and Trish before looking up at him. "Apparently they go here too."
"I thought that it was just going to be us today?" Noctis quietly said as he reached out and grabbed your hand.
"It is." You replied with a smile as you tightened up your grip on his hand. "I wouldn't even consider bringing them to an arcade."
"Are you sure?" Noctis asked as he looked up and searched your eyes.
"Of course. And besides, I don't think they would understand the thrill of it all." You replied back in a low teasing tone.
Noctis slightly laughed. "No. No I don't think they would."
"Are you going to introduced us or what?" You heard Jason asked in a low tone. "It's kind of rude to ignore us like this you know."
Noctis gave you a low grumble as he looked down. He wasn't really in the mood to talk to anyone but you at the moment. Luckily for him, you could already tell. Of course after one quick kiss to his cheek, he was more than willing to do anything you asked of him.
"You did say that you wanted to meet them." You quietly said in his ear.
"Fine." Noctis said as he gave you a kiss on your cheek as well before he stood up and tightened his grip on your hand. "But let's keep it quick."
"Of course." You beamed back at him before the two of you turned back to the rest of the group.
