"AND you said somehow, someone, got into your bedroom?" Noctis asked in a flat tone.

"Yeah. Or at least I think so." You said as you gave him a side glance.

But he didn't look at you as he stared at the fire. He was sitting beside you with one arm on his right leg that was propped up. While his other hand was holding himself up as his other leg was folded up beside him. He had been sitting like that the whole time you talked.

This made you nervous since he hadn't looked at you once as you talked. In fact he hadn't done anything but sit there. The last question had been the only time that he had said anything for the last two hours. And as you watched him, you were starting to get concerned that he might freak out on you in a really bad way.

Ignis had told you once about how Noctis had flown off the handle at him after he had told King Regis about the doors leading to the city park. Apparently the blow out was so bad that Noctis hadn't talked to him for three months. King Regis had even had a hard time getting Noctis to even talk to him. Ignis mentioned that the only way he got over himself was Gladio literally kicking his ass.

You hoped that it wouldn't lead to that again as you looked at him. But it was hard to tell with the way that he was behaving. He could easily go either way. And it was that uncertainty that made you nervously grab your legs and pull them close to your chest.

''But I'm not one hundred percent sure about any of it." You said as you tightened your grip on your legs as you lazily watched the last bits of the firewood burning.

"Then how do you know that something happened?" He quietly asked in a low tone.

"Because there's no way that I would be able to smell that cologne if there hadn't been someone in the room. No one and nothing in my house has  that scent." You quietly replied as you recalled the faint hint of the all to familiar spicy cologne.

And as you thought about it, you could once again feel their lips on your skin as they hungrily kissed down your neck before they continued on down to your chest. You slightly gasped as you anticipated their hands moving in to massage one breast before their mouth went to capture the other again.

But before they touched you, you felt a hand touch your upper back before it slid down. Instantly you jumped and moved away. Only to turn and see a stunned look from Noctis. Then you watched his eyes get hard as he stared at you.

Then you felt your heart start to race as he clenched his hands. But he didn't say anything. Instead he just turned back to the fire and stared at it in silence.

Damnit! It happened again and I wasn't there. When she needed me the most. I wasn't fucking there! Noctis angrily thought as he could feel the fury starting to build up in him as he shut his eyes and clutched his fists more.

But then he tensed up as he looked back at the fire with a new conviction. Well it won't happen again. Not while I'm around.

"Noct?" You asked as you reached over and placed your hand on his. "Are you okay? Your not upset that I told you that are you?"

Noctis slowly looked over at you and searched your face. You slightly smiled at him as he looked at you. Then you saw his face start to slowly soften as he looked back at you. Which made you smile even bigger at him.

"Yeah." He said as he reached up and moved your hair behind your ear. "Yeah I'm okay. And I'm glad that you told me."

You smiled back as you scooted over to him and wrapped your arms around his waist as you hugged him. "I'm glad too."

Noctis smiled back down at you and wrapped his arm around your waist. Then he pulled you close to him and gave you a kiss on your head. He didn't say anything after that. But then again, he didn't have to. You could practically feel everything that he was trying to say through his embrace.

He slowly rubbed your back as he held you close to his chest. You let relief wash over you as you both sat there silently by the fire for a while. And after a few minutes, you both turned in for the night.

The rest of the trip went smoothly. The last two fishing trips gave you enough fish to finish feeding everyone two very hearty fish dinners for the last two nights. And included Noctis finally catching almost as many fish as you and your dad. Which he was super proud of.

Even the morning fighting practice had really been fun. Your dad had added in the chocobos so that you had to hit things as you rode past them. Which proved to be way more difficult then you had originally thought it would be. But you still had a blast with it. And so did Prince

The best part about the rest of the trip though, was the fact that you hadn't seen hide or hair of the behemoth after you raced away from him in the field. Much to your relief. There wasn't even any strange sounds in the woods the last two nights. Well none except for Gladio's snoring.

Unfortunately you didn't feel the same happiness as you stood there in front of Prince, who was standing in his stall. Your heart felt like it was being torn out as you were trying to say goodbye. But even with your mind and heart being ripped apart, you still faintly heard your dad telling Wiz about the behemoth threat in the woods nearby. Which made you feel a bit better as you scratched under Prince's chin as he deeply rumbled in his throat.

Now you had known that you were going to have to leave Prince behind when it was time to leave. So it wasn't like it was a surprise or anything. Because let's face it, you couldn't really have a chocobo in the city. Let alone at your house. There simply wasn't enough room in your backyard for a stable or anything else that he would need.

But even knowing this fact, it still didn't make leaving him behind any easier. Because you already knew that you would be thinking about him the whole time that you were gone. And you would be worried about him being hurt by the baby behemoth if they were to ever run across each other. And that was something that you prayed would never happen.

"You know that you can come see him whenever you want." You heard Wiz say as he moved up to you. "I'm certain that he would really like that. And I'm sure that your dad could make arrangements for you to come see him over the weekends. "

"I know." You said as you put your forehead to Prince's and closed your eyes as you continued to scratch his chin. "But it won't be the same."

"Perhaps we could look into him being brought to the royal stables after this summer is over." You heard your dad say.

Wait? Really? You thought as you froze for a moment before you slowly turned and looked at him in shock. "Are you serious? You would do that?"

Your dad gave you a smile as he walked up and placed his hand on your back. "Of course."

Then he turned to Prince and started to scratch his neck. "This guy will miss you terribly otherwise. And I think he's starting to grow on me."

Prince gave him a soft coo and leaned more towards his hand so that your dad could scratch his neck more. You dad beamed back at him and started to scratch his neck more. Watching them made you smile. It seemed that they had bonded after all.

Which made your heart soar as you squealed in delight as you quickly turned to your dad and threw your arms around his neck. "Ooooh, thank you dad."

Your dad chuckled as he wrapped his arm around your waist as you reached up and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Okay. I get it."

You then beamed at him as you bounced on the balls of you feet in excitement.

"But for now," he continued as he gave you a slight smile, "can we head home? I have a pregnant wife who could really use our help right now."

"Of course." You beamed back as you gave him one last kiss on the cheek before you turned to Prince. "I'll see you later boy."

Kweh! Prince said before he nudged your chest for one last scratch, which you gladly gave.

Then after everyone thanked Wiz, everyone climbed into the truck and headed back to Insomnia.

"Hey gorgeous." Paul beamed as he opened up the driver's door to the truck.

"Hey to you too." Tracy beamed back as she watched Paul climbed out of the truck after he had parked it in front of the citadel's front stairs. "So how was the trip?"

"Ehh. You know." He said in a lower tone as he closed his door before he turned to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. "Lonely and cold without you."

Tracy giggled as he pulled her close to him and buried his nose in her neck and started peppering her with tiny tinkling kisses on her neck. It was her favorite kisses that he gave her. They were both sweet and playful. Which were two of his traits that he only shared with one other person and that was you.

"Get a room you two." You teased them as you poked your head out the back of the truck.

Your dad smirked at you before he fully embraced Tracy as he lifted up her chin and kissed her. You rolled your eyes at them before turning your attention back to the supplies and gear in the truck. You knew they had been talking each night. But of course there was nothing better than having that person in your arms.

You slightly sighed as Noctis joined the guys on the ground. And since you wanted to give your dad a private moment with Tracy, you quietly started to pull the gear out of the backend of the truck . And just like before, the guys took turns grabbing the items from you. Except this time, instead of the items going into the different tents, they were put into the different awaiting cars.

Gladio's stuff went into his truck, Prompto's into the royal car that was going to take him home. And of course your dad's and your gear into your dad's car. The rest of the gear that belonged to Noctis and King Regis, simply stayed in the truck. The only thing that they would have to grab was their overnight bags. Which even those were quickly whisked away by the valets.

"So will I see you sometime this week?" Noctis asked as the valets ran off with his bag as you tossed yours into the trunk of your dad's car.

"I don't know." You said as you closed the lid of the now full trunk. "Are you going to stop by the café?"

Noctis dropped his head as shoved his hands into his pockets. "Only if you want me to."

You gave him a slight smile before you reached over and touched his arm. "Of course I want you to. Just not all the time. I'm sure that Nyx and Tredd have more important things to do then hang out at the café."

Noctis looked up at you and propped one foot up behind the other as he cocked his head at you. "I don't need them there if your there. They would just get in the way anyway."

You smiled back at him as you shook your head. You knew that he was only slightly joking with you. Considering that he had been doing everything over the last two days to stay as close to you as possible. And you knew that it was because of what you had told him. But you didn't want him taking unnecessary risks. It simply wasn't worth it.

"That may be true." You said with a smile back at him. "But I do have Brian there you know. And I'm sure he would love to see you again. But only if you can do so safely."

Noctis stepped up to you and cupped your chin. "It's not my safety that I'm worried about."

You searched his eyes and could see the concern in his eyes as he looked back at you.

"I can take care of myself you know." You tried to say with more conviction then you felt.

"Like you did against those sabertooth?" He asked with a firm tone as he dropped his hand.

"Let's go (y/n). Tracy has dinner waiting for us." You heard your dad say before either of you could say anything else.

"I'll talk to you tonight." You said dismissively as you turned around and walked away from him.

"But..." Noctis started to say as he took a half step forward.

But he stopped in his tracks and watched you walk away as his dad's words echoed in his head again. ....Is she really yours to protect?

Noctis then clenched his hands as he watched you climb into the back seat of your dad's car. ......She's Ignis' girlfriend for one.......and you have Luna.......I'm just concerned is all Noctis.

Noctis watched you look back at him through the back window and smile at him. Then he watched your dad pull away from him as he drove off. You smiled at him and waved before the car turned towards the main gate. And it seemed that the further the car got, the more his heart seemed to hurt.

You may be Ignis' girlfriend. But you were mine first. Noctis though as he tightened up his fists as he followed the car until it was completely out of sight. And I will always protect you. No matter what.

"I'm telling you the truth. I am honestly a Eagle Scott." Jason said as the three of you were eating lunch in the courtyard.

"Yeah right." You teased back as you ate a fry. "I'll believe that when I see it for myself."

"Fine." Jason said with force as he sat up and slapped his napkin back down. "That settles it. We'll go this weekend. We can even go to the same haven that you were at."

You shook your head as you smiled at him before you dropped your head. "I just got back. And I have a ton of stuff to catch up on. So I'm not going camping for a while."

"I can always help you get caught up." Jason said in a hopefully tone.

"Thanks." You said as you moved your hair behind your ear. "But I got it. I do appreciate it though."

Suddenly your phone went off. You quickly reached into your bag and pulled it up. That was when you saw your dad's name across the screen. You looked at his name nervously as you answered. He normally would never call you at school unless it was really important.

"Hey dad. What's up?" You nervously asked as you practically held your breath. Please tell me something hasn't happened to Tracy or the baby.

"Hey kiddo. I was wondering if you could swing by the citadel before work and help out Noctis with something."

"Well sure. But why are you asking? He knows that he can just call me himself and ask."

"Well that would be the issue. He doesn't seem to want to listen to anyone of us right now. But perhaps he'll talk to you. He seems to always listen to you."

Oh uh. Something is bothering him. You thought as you could instantly picture him flipping out on someone. "Wh...what are you trying to get him to do?"

"Apparently King Regis has been trying to get Noctis to decide on whether he wants to celebrate his birthday with a huge public festival event again or to perhaps just hold a ball this year instead."

"Really?" You asked with a stunned tone. "Noct doesn't want to say which one?"

"He's not saying anything right now. Not to anyone."

That's odd. "Not even King Regis can get him to talk?" You asked as you gave your dad a concerned tone.

"No. He has been in his room pretty much since we got back and doesn't seem to want to come out."

"That's not good." You quietly responded as you looked down.

"Will you stop by? King Regis could really use you help with this." You heard your dad ask as you tried to figure out what could possible be bothering Noctis.

"Yes. Of course." You replied as you sat back in your chair. "I'll leave as soon as class is over."

"Good girl. I knew we could count on you."

"Of course dad." You quietly replied as your head was spinning with thoughts of what could possible be bugging him this time.

"We'll see you tonight kiddo."

"Yeah. See you then." You replied out of habit before you hung up.

"Is something wrong? Do you need to leave now?" Jason asked as he gave you a concerned look.

"No. I can go after class. It's not that urgent." You replied as you put your phone away.

"What's it about then?" Brady asked as he sat up.

"Oh. It's just Noct. He's being.......well......himself." You said as you gave them both an exasperated look.

Brady slightly smiled and seemed to understand exactly what you were talking about. Where Jason seemed to be confused. He kept glancing back and forth between the two of you as he tried to figure out what you meant.

"I don't understand." Jason said as he now studied your face. "What's wrong with being yourself?"

Both you and Brady slightly laughed before Brady turned to Jason. "Don't worry about it man. It doesn't concern you anyway."

"But it does concern me when it involves our princess."

"Drop it Jay." Brady said as he stood up. "Now come on. We have to head to our next classes."

"No one has been able to get in?" You asked King Regis as you stood outside of Noctis' bedroom door.

"No." King Regis said as he went from looking at the door to turning and looking at you. "And short of us physically breaking down the door, I don't see how we are going to get him to willing open up his door."

"Hmmm. Okay." You said as you gave the door a quick glance.

Then you glanced down as you thought for a moment. Then something occurred to you. It was a crazy idea. And it just might work. But that would be your last and final option.

You pulled out your phone and dial his phone first. But after the third ring, it went to voicemail. You sighed to yourself. Then sent him a text message.

Can we talk? Please?

But after about 5 minutes, he didn't answer. So you put your ear to the door. You could hear his racing game. Perhaps he just couldn't hear his phone.

So you knocked really loud on his door. "Noct! It's me! (Y/N)! Can you open the door?!"

Then after a few minutes of no response, you knocked again. "Noct! This isn't funny! Open the door!"

And when he didn't answer again you were starting to get worried. He had never ignored you like this before. Perhaps something was wrong. Was he hurt and no one knew about it?

Shit! I have to get in there! You started to panic as you ran from that door and headed to the room right beside his.

"(Y/n)? Where are you going?" King Regis called after you.

"Balcony!" You shouted right as you yanked open the other door and raced inside.

The room was dark when you entered. You quickly felt around for the light switch and flicked it on. You glanced around and saw that it look almost exactly like the one that you had stayed in. Except that it looked like a mirror image of your old room, since everything was on the opposite side.

This would have normally fascinate you and caused you to further investigate the room. But the thought of Noctis being hurt drove all of those thoughts out of your head as you quickly headed to the balcony. Once you exited the room and out onto the balcony, you went up to the railing and looked over at his. And as always, his door was open and you could hear the music from his racing game drifting out of his room.

You then tried to judge just how far away it was. Which made you think that you might have to warp just to make sure that you made it. But as you looked at it, you knew that you had to watch how far you needed to go. Because you didn't want to over shot his balcony. Otherwise you would go flying straight down to the garden below.

I'm coming Noctis. You thought as you took a deep breath as you climbed onto the closet chair and onto the railing.

You picked a spot just on the other side of his railing. Then you held your breath and warped over to his balcony. You crouched to take the stress off of you legs as you landed hard on the concrete platform. Then you slowly stood up.

"(Y/N)!" You heard King Regis shout as you stood up.

Then you looked over at him and saw him standing on the other balcony in shock.

"I have to make sure he's okay." You said.

Then before he could argue with you, you dashed into Noctis' room.

"But...ahhh." King Regis said as he reached out his hand as if he could stop you. I have a key you know.

You glanced around his room after you ran in and didn't see him. The TV and game were on. But he was nowhere to be seen. You walked around and started looking on the floor for fear that he might have passed out and was laying on the ground unconscious.

But after looking all around the couches and chairs with no luck. You were feeling more of a panic starting to take over. You then looked around his bed and wardrobe and still nothing. Your heart was now starting to race as panic was starting to kick in.

Where is he? You thought to yourself as you quickly glanced around the room again as you got closer to his bathroom.

That was when you heard the faint sound of water running. You looked up and saw that the bathroom door was closed. Which made you pause for a moment. For the last time that you had walked into his bathroom, you had caught his going pee. Which had embarrassed both of you beyond belief.

But as you walked up to the door your nerves started to make you shake. Even though you knew that you had to check. Except this time you decided to knock on his door first. Oppose to just barging in.

"Noct? Are you okay?" You said as you put your ear to his door.

You could clearly hear the shower running now. But he still wasn't answering. Which was making you more nervous.

"Noctis, I'm coming in." You said as you turned the handle.

As you opened the door, the heat from the shower came pouring out the door and seemed to take away your breath away from how smothering it was. But then as you looked around, you felt the color draining from your face. Because laying there on the floor was Noctis, naked and unconscious. His body was laying half in and half out of the shower as water was pouring over him.

"Noctis!" You shouted and raced over to him.

You quickly turned off the water and grabbed a towel. Then you dropped to your knees and covered up his waist so that you wouldn't have to worry about embarrassing the two of you. Then you placed your head by his to see if he was still breathing. Your body slightly trembled as you felt a gentle breath brush across your cheek as you watched his chest slightly rise.

Oh thank the gods. You thought as you closed your eyes and gave him a gentle kiss on his forehead.

But that was when you realized what the problem was. He was burning up from a fever. You could feel the heat through your lips before you pulled away. Which now raised a greater concern on cooling him off.

"Noct!" You shouted at him as you placed your wrist on his forehead.

The heat on your wrist instantly told you that he was in real trouble. But it also might explain why he was on the floor. The heat from the shower and from his fever must have been too much and caused him to pass out. Which explains why he hadn't heard anything.

"Come on. I have to get you out of this heat." You said as you did one quick glance at him to make sure that he hadn't hurt himself when he had fallen.

You then grabbed his arm and pulled him up enough for you to reach behind him. Then you got behind him and wrapped your arms across his chest. But then as you started to try and get up, you realized just what they meant by deadweight. Because you couldn't seem to pick him up any more than waist high as you fought to get to your feet.

"Fuck!" You shouted as you strained to stand up so that you could drag him out of the room.

"What the...?" You suddenly heard King Regis' voice say from the door. "Noctis?! What happened?!"

"He has a fever." You said through gritted teeth as King Regis came running over to the two of you. "I think he passed out while trying to take his shower."

Then suddenly Noctis felt a lot lighter to you as King Regis scooped him up in his arms. You stood back and gave King Regis a stunned look as he held Noctis in his arms and pulled him closer. Then he turned away from you and practically flew out of the room.

Holy shit. Do he just...? You thought as you stood there for a moment as it register what had just happened.

But then you quickly recovered as you glanced down and saw his towel on the floor. Oh shit!

You grabbed the towel and started to walk out when you saw his clothes just tossed on the floor in the bathroom, right beside his hamper. You rolled your eyes and quickly tossed his clothes in the hamper. Then you walked out of the room. As you entered his room again, you saw that King Regis had Noctis in his bed with his waist down covered up.

But as you walked over to the bed you could hear the concern in King Regis' tone as he talked on the phone. "Yes.......yes he was in the shower when (y/n) found him........no I don't know if he hit his head or not.......no it doesn't look like his neck was hurt..........yes.......yes we can do that..........yes please......we'll see you in a few Doc..... and thank you."

King Regis then hung up and looked at you. "I need you to go into my bathroom and grab the pain medicine. Doc is on his way, but he wants us to try and get his fever under control before he gets here."

"Right." You said as you started to head for the door before you turned back around. "Should I grab some ice packs as well?"

"No." King Regis said with a slight smile. "I've already asked the kitchen staff to bring some up."

"Okay." You replied and quickly left the room.

As soon as you enter the hallway, you took off at a full sprint and raced down the hallway to King Regis royal chambers. But as you did, you heard some of the staff members running towards Noctis room. Which made you speed up even more as your heart started to race. Had King Regis sent you away because Noctis was getting worse?

Your feet couldn't seem to carry you fast enough as you flew down the hallway and threw open the door to the royal chambers. Then you quickly enter the room and looked around. You were instantly blown away with how large and beautiful the room was. And the further you walked into it, the more impressed you were.

Then you looked around and quickly found his bathroom. Which was just as impressive. And it took your breath away as you walked in and looked around. But then you quickly got back to the task at hand when you found the drawers near the sinks. You then looked through them and found the pain medicine in the top drawer.

You grabbed the bottle and quickly dashed out of the room. Then you quickly exited the royal chambers and flew back down the hallway again. You could hear a few voices in the hallway. They were very faint at first. But they got louder as you reached Noctis' door.

You entered his room and saw Marge by the bed and Korn near King Regis as they talked. You slightly smiled as you walked in and over to King Regis. Korn smiled at you as you handed King Regis the pill bottle as you slowly brought your breathing back under control.

"Here you go, your majesty." Your said as he took the bottle from you. "Is he going to be okay?"

"He will dearly." You heard Marge said as she walked over to the two of you. "A couple pills and good checkup by Doc and he'll be right as rain before you know it."

"I'm glad." You sighed. "Is it okay if I stay with him for tonight? I hate the idea of leaving him like this."

"But what about your studies?" Korn asked as he looked at you.

"I will still work on that while he sleeps." You said with a smile. "I just want to be here in case he needs something is all."

"It's okay with me." King Regis said. "But clear it with your father before you get set up."

"Of course." You said with a smile.

Then there were voices coming from the hallway.

"He's right in here sir." You heard one of the maids say.

"Thank you." You heard Doc say right before he stepped into the room.

"Ahh. Thank you for coming." King Regis said as he greeted him.

"Think nothing of it your majesty." Doc said with a smile as he walked over to Noctis. "Now let's see what I can do to help him."
