Chapter 97 - Revealing the Truth

You sat there on the chair by the desk with your knees to your chest as you had your arms wrapped around your legs. The room was quiet for a while after you told them everything that had happened all the way up to the security trip. Minus the visions and the magic use of course. They might not be as understanding as the guys if they where to found out.

"Dear six. I had no idea." Angie said quietly as she sat on the bed with her knees to her chest. "I don't think that I would be sane if all of that happened to me."

"It sounds like something out of a murder mystery movie or something." Becky said as she practically strangled the pillow that she was afraid to let go of now.

"More like a horror film." Chrissy quietly added as she had her head down as she grasped her ankles. "I can't imagine how scare you had to of been as you watched Gwen get hit like that. And all those times that they tried to grab you. I would be terrified to leave my house."

"It does explain a lot though." Nicole quietly said as she sat on the edge of the bed and watched you. "But why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I couldn't." You quietly said before you looked up and meet her eyes. "It might have put you in danger as well. It was bad enough that the guys were involved. And sure, their being trained for this and all. But its still isn't a good feeling knowing that you put someone else's life on the line because of you."

"No." She said as she dropped her gaze. "No, I suppose it's not."

Suddenly everyone jumped as there was a knock on the door followed by Gladio's loud voice. "Hey? Are you ladies ready to go? We should be heading downstairs."

"Oh shit." You said as you looked at your watch. "I didn't even realize what time is was. You still have to grab something to eat Nicole. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to keep you so long."

Nicole looked up at you and gave you a sad smile. "It's fine. Really."

"No its not." You said as you stood up. "Your joining us for dinner. On me. Okay?"

"It should be us buying for you." Angie said as she looked at you.

"No." You said as you smiled back at them. "Look. I didn't tell you all of that so that you would feel sorry for me. In a way I'm glad it happened. Well, everything but loosing my mom that is. Because if it hadn't happened, I wouldn't have learned everything that I have."

"But still. All those secrets. All those lies." Nicole said as she looked away for a moment. "And I still can't get over that both of your parents are secret agents. They just seemed so normal to me, you know."

"And that's why their ranked as being two of the best in their fields." You said as you beamed at the floor. "I know that they lied to me. And I was angry with them for not telling me their secret. But after I was captured, I finally understood. They didn't want anyone to use me as a means of getting to them."

Suddenly there was a knock on the door again followed by Ignis' voice this time. "Is everything alright?"

"We're coming!" You said really loud towards the door before you looked back at your friends in front of you. "I think the guys are hungry. We better go before Noctis knocks next."

"I'm surprised he wasn't the first one." Nicole smiled.

"Yeah right." You smiled as everyone got up, grabbed their stuff and headed out the door.

When you walked out of the room you saw all four of the guys waiting outside your room.  Noctis looked impatient.  While Prompto was more confused then anything.  Gladio and Ignis simply looked relieve to see you come out.

"What took you so long?" Noctis said with an impatient tone. "And what happened to you coming to our room? We were waiting for you. But you never showed up."

"Yeah sorry about that." You said as you dropped your head and rubbing your hands together. "We got to talking and lost track of time."

"Really?" Ignis asked as he gave you a stunned look. "And what in the world took that long to talk about?"

"Well......you see..." You began to explain as you rubbed your hands harder.

"Well, we know now why she hangs around you guys so much." Angie said as she looked at Prompto. "She just told what happened over the past few years with all of you."

"And also the truth about her mom." Nicole said as she gave you a serious look. "And her dad."

"So you know about the training at the farm house?" Gladio asked as he gave you a concerned look.

"I told them about the training and about being attacked on our way home." You said to him. "At least what I can remember about it anyway."

"You guys are totally awesome for everything that you have done for her." Chrissy said as she beamed at the guys. "And I'm not going to lie. I'm actually a bit jealous. I just want one protective boyfriend. She has all of you."

"Actually the role of protective boyfriend is being filled by only one of us." Gladio said as he slapped Ignis on the back, which almost knocked him down. "Isn't that right specs?"

"Umph. Indeed." Ignis said as he was lurched slightly forward from the blow.

"The rest of us are more like backup for him." Gladio continued as he crossed his arms across his chest.

"Speak for yourself." Noctis said as he gave Gladio a stern glance. "I've known her a lot longer than both of you."

"And that would be the overprotective best friend." Gladio continued before he turned to Noctis. "And a couple weeks doesn't really count."

"Hey man, can we cool it a bit." Prompto said to Gladio when he saw Noctis give Gladio a stern glance.

"And cue the annoying best friend of the best friend." Gladio said as he gestured to Prompto.

"Then what does that make you?" Nicole asked when she saw Prompto's jaw drop in shock as he stared at Gladio.

"That would make him the bully and bran of the group." You chimed in as you gave Gladio a stern look. "And he may be strong. But sometimes his strength gets in the way of his brain which leads to his foot ending up in his mouth every once in a while."

"And on that note, let's head downstairs shall we." Ignis said with a slight smile as he walked over to you and started to lead you to the elevator, leaving Gladio standing there stunned.

Noctis slightly smirked and started to follow. "That sounds like a great idea."

The group then all turned and headed towards the elevator. But just before everyone reached it, the bell chimed and the door opened. Everyone stopped as a large group come walking out. But when you saw who it was, you felt your heart leap.

Because you saw Nyx and Pelna come out first and look around. Then King Regis and Korn. Followed by Clarus and Iris. And last but not least, was Doc and your dad.

You were so excited that you couldn't help but to run up to your dad and give him a hug. "DAD!"

"Whoa!" Your dad said as he almost fell over as you leaped at him before he grabbed you around your waist and gave you a hug back. "Hey kiddo."

You pulled yourself close to him with a huge smile on your face before you released him enough to look at him. "I can't believe your here! I thought you had to work. What made you change your mind?"

"Well..." He started to say before he was interrupted.

"That would be due to me." King Regis said with a smile as he looked at the whole group.

"Your majesty?" You asked as you gave King Regis a curious look.

"Well, with all of you here, the Citadel was just simply to quiet. But as you all know, I can't very well step away and leave everyone else behind. So I decided to bring everyone with me so that we could all come and watch. Besides, its not everyday that a Prince gets to go to the Regionals swim meet. Now is it son?" King Regis said as he beamed at Noctis.

You glanced over at Noctis and saw him trying to hide the smile as he looked at his dad. "No. But this won't be the last."

"I hope not." Regis smiled back as he walking over to Noctis and placed his hand on his shoulder. "I'm rather fond of bragging about my son's accomplishments."

"So will you be staying on this floor with us?" You asked as you released your dad and looked at the adults as they stood there.

"Not quite." Your dad answered. "We're one floor up from here."

"Awesome." You said with a smile.

"But that doesn't mean that the lot of you can misbehave." Clarus said as he gave everyone a stern look.

That was when you looked over and saw the almost petrified looks of Angie, Chrissy and Becky as they stared at the adults standing in front of them. You couldn't help but to smile as you watched them as they tried to comprehend what they were seeing. Now you knew that they knew that Noctis was the Prince and all. But as you looked at them, you had a feeling that they hadn't really thought about it until that moment.

"Your majesty." You said as you walked over to your team. "It seems as if we have a few people here who have not be properly introduced to you."

King Regis looked over at the girls as they stood transfixed as they watched him. "I do believe your right."

"Your majesty, Mr. Scientia, Mr. Amicitia, Mr. Ulric, Mr. Khara, Doc, dad, I would like to introduce you to, Angelica Jones, Rebecca Tucker, and Christina Turner." You said as you gestured to each person in turn.

Each of The adults nodded in turn as their name was said. While the girls tried to curtesy as you introduced each of them. But you could tell that the girls were very nervous as they tried their best, but looked very awkward doing it. You gave them each a smile as you tried to encourage them. But it only seemed to make them more nervous.

"It's a pleasure to met each of you." King Regis said as he smiled at them. "I was very impressed with your race during districts and I'm looking forward to seeing you doing it again here. I'm sure that you will do your school proud."

"Tha tha.....thank you." They stumbled as tried to curtesy to him again.

Suddenly you realized that you were suppose to be downstairs with the rest of the team. "Oh crap. We're late."

"Late for What?" Your dad asked as he gave you a confused look.

"We were suppose to be meeting up with the rest of the team so that we can go to dinner." You said as you slightly shrugged your shoulders.

"That's actually why we're here." Korn said as he nodded at you. "We wanted to take you all out for dinner before the big meet starts tomorrow."

"Really?" You asked as everyone seemed to get excited.

"Now you should know better then to question his majesty when it comes to this." Korn said with a straight face.

"But what about the team?" Angie asked as she nervously looked at Korn.

"Don't worry Ms. Angelica. We already talked to your coaches. In fact they have already gone on ahead with the rest of the team and should be waiting for us at the restaurant." King Regis said as he smiled back in his relaxed stance.

"Then can we head out." Noctis said in a slightly bored tone. "I'm more than ready to eat right now."

"Yes. Let's." King Regis said as he turned back towards the elevator.

And with that, the whole group turned and climbed into the two elevators. You climbed onto the one that your dad got onto. Ignis saw this and followed you along with his uncle, Noctis and King Regis. Then once the door was close, you turned to your dad.

"I'm really glad that you came." You said to him as you dropped your head.

"So am I." Your dad said as he watched you.

"Would it be possible to talk to all of you tonight after dinner?" You asked as you grabbed his hand.

"Of course." Your dad said as he gave you a curious look. "What did you want to talk about?"

You paused for a moment as you took a breath before you spoke. And even then when you did, you slightly closed your eyes before opening them back up as you looked up at your dad. You knew that he needed to know what had happened on the Atlantis. You knew that without your testimony there was no guarantee that Keith would be charged with sexual assault.

And up until that point you had been too scared to think about It. Let alone tell anyone about what had happened that night. And this was perhaps because every time you did, you became completely lost in the memory and sensations of that night. And you couldn't help but to lose all concept of everything around you. But after talking with your team and your best friend about what had happened so far, you felt your confidence at a all time high.

Which to you, meant that if there was a time to tell anyone about it. It was now. And the more people that heard this time, the better. Because you weren't sure if you would be able to do it again after this. For tonight was the time to tell the whole story about what had happened that night. And lawyers or no lawyers, you had to tell your story so that no one else would have to fall victim to his abuse.

"Did you happen to bring your laptop with you?" You asked as tried to keep your nerves steady.

"Of course." Your dad asked as he moved your hair behind your ear. "But why?"

"I think it's time I told you about what happened. But I don't know if I'll be able to talk about it after this.  In fact I can't guarantee that I won't get all caught up in it." You said as you dropped your gaze. "So your going to want to record this.  You know, in case I can't talk about it after this."

"Wait a minute (y/n).  Are you sure?"  Noctis asked as he gave you a concerned look. "You freaked out pretty bad to me at districts.  I don't know if you really are ready to talk about it right now."

"I'm afraid that I'm going to have to agree with Noctis on this one." Ignis chimed in as he moved closer to you and put his hand on your back. "Even on the bus ride here you seemed to be taken over by it."

"I know." You replied as you grabbed Ignis' hand. "But I have to. I can't let that bastard get away what he did. Not this time or ever.  I can't bear the thought of him walking away from this with nothing.  Not when we're so close."

"I want him to burn in hell for what he did."  You tightened up your grip as you continued.  "I started working with all of you so that I could stand up and fight against shit bags like him.  Which is why I can't back down and hide from him.  I will stand up to him and show him that I'm not a victim anymore."

You then looked up at them with fire in your eyes. "I'm a survivor. And I want to take him down. Before he does it to someone else."

Ignis smiled at you before pulling you into a tight embrace. You wrapped your arms around him and let him pull you hard against him.  You smiled at him as you laid your head on his shoulder and took comfort in his support. For you know that you were going to need his strength and support more than ever for this.

And as he held you, you knew that he wouldn't want it any other way. And his words solidified that for you as he spoke softly in your ear.

"That's the woman I know and love." Ignis said as he ran one hand up to your shoulder and the other down to your waist.

Then you felt a hand on your back along with Noctis' soft voice. "And we got your back. No matter what."

You slowly released Ignis and reached over and slowly wrapped your arms around Noctis' neck. He pulled you in just as hard as Ignis had. You hugged him just as hard back as you put your head on his shoulder. He tightened up more and slightly dropped his head.

"Just tell us what you need us to do." He quietly said. "We will do whatever you ask us to."

You then slowly released him. "Thanks guys. That means a lot."

"And don't worry. We'll take him down." Your dad said with a smirk. "And we'll take him down together."

You smiled at him as he reached over and pulled you into his arms. You closed your eyes and smiled as he held you just like the others. The strength that you had just felt from all three of them was exactly what you needed to know that you truly did have their support. You released your dad after a moment and smiled at all of them.

"We can talk in the executive suit after dinner this evening." King Regis said as he watched with a smile. "There should be enough room in there for everyone to be present. And we won't be interrupted there either."

You smiled over at King Regis. "Thank you.  Your majesty."

DING!

"Ahh. But in the meantime." King Regis said with a smile. "Let's go eat."

"Best words I've heard all night." Noctis said to his dad before they smiled at each other then turned to follow you and your dad out of the elevator.

(The Ritz-Carlton Presidential Suite, Kyoto (Japan)

After having a very filling dinner, that included a lot of food and laughs as everyone talked about the meet and the work that it took to get that far. Everyone found themselves walking into the Presidential suite on the top floor. Your jaw hit the floor as you looked around. You had heard of rooms like these. But you never thought that you would ever see one in person.

"Whooooaaaa." Angie said as she looked around. "This room is huge. I think I can fit my whole house in here."

"I hear ya." You said as you were just as stunned.

"But you should be use to this by now." Chrissy said as she looked at you.

You turned around and gave her a firm look. "Now why would you say that?"

"Well you are friends with the prince and all." She said as she crossed her arms.

"I may be his friend. But that doesn't mean that I get to stay in rooms like this when I travel." You said back. "Heck even Noctis is in a regular room."

"But you stayed at the citadel. Your room must have been huge." Becky chimed in.

"Yes. But I didn't choose the room. And I wouldn't have even been there if my parents hadn't been taken." You added as you turned and faced them as they all stared at you. "Why are you acting like this?"

"We're just saying that all of this should be a norm for you." Angie said as she gave you a hurt look.

"There is nothing normal about any of this. My family didn't ask for any of that to happen." You angrily back.

"But you yourself said that your glad it happened." Nicole said as she gave you a strained look.

"Only because I got to be with them!" You shouted at them as you gestured to the guys. "And they are the only reason I'm still here!"

Everyone stopped and looked at you as you were starting to loose it. Ignis watched you carefully as you stood there staring at your friends. He knew those looks that they were giving you all to well. He had been given those looks every time he tried to make friends with anyone outside the kids at the citadel. No one outside seemed to be understand that it wasn't all glitz and glamour. Because underneath all of that was a very harsh reality of pain and suffering.

"Do you honestly think that this was what I wanted to happen?" You spat at them. "Are you going to stand there and try to say that I wanted my parents to be taken from me? And that I had a great time being targeted by some kidnappers and being thrown into the back end of a van during a concert.  Which, mind you, was because I was betrayed by a fellow classmate?"

"That's not what I meant." Nicole started to say as she dropped her head.

"But that's what your saying." You said angrily at her as tears started to form. "And you knew my mom and how much I loved her. Are you honestly going to stand there and say that I wanted to see her shot right in front of me?"

"Perhaps you girls should head back down to your rooms." Your dad said as he stepped in front of you as you started to break down. "We really need her to talk to us about something else. And this isn't helping right now."

"But...?" Nicole said as she gave him a hurt look.

"She'll be down once we're done." He continued as Ignis came up and wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you close to him as he walked you over to the couch.

"But we just got here." Becky argued back.

"We didn't mean anything bad with what we said." Angie tried to argue back.

"Then you shouldn't have said it." You heard your dad say as he started escorting them out of the room as Ignis had you sit down on the couch.

Ignis sat down on the couch right beside you and placed his arm across your shoulders. You curled up against him as you tried to calm back down. You didn't expect them to act like that after telling them about what had happened. You had told them everything as a means of explaining what had happened over the years and why you had had to disappear for three years.

But now as you brought your knees up to you chest as you leaned up against Ignis chest, you were starting to regret ever bringing it up to them to begin with. And now you were starting to see why the guys never made any friends outside of those within the citadel. Those on the outside just didn't seemed to understand. All they saw was the material possessions and appearances.

"I know why you guys don't trust that many people now." You quietly said as Ignis rubbed your arm as he had his arm wrapped around you.

"It is a tight circle that we keep." Ignis quietly said as your dad came back into the room after closing the door and posting Nyx and Pelna outside the door.

"Of course we've never seen anyone show their ugly side that soon after hearing the truth though." Gladio said as he sat down on another couch as Noctis sat down on your other side.

"Perhaps they will have a change of heart when we head back down."  Ignis said as he tried to look you in the face.

"Perhaps."  You said as you curled up a bit more.

"But in the meantime."  Your dad said as he walked up and sat his laptop down on the table in front of you. "Let's begin. The time is getting late and you do have a meet tomorrow."

"Right." You said as slowly released your legs and sat up straight as you got ready.

You knew you had to do this if you were to take down Keith and make him pay for hurting you. And with the support of the people who all sat around you, you knew that you had it. So after your dad started the recording and gave a brief synopsis of what the subject was to be. You took a deep breath and prepared yourself to answer everything that they asked. No matter what.

You weren't sure how long you sat there talking with you them about what had happened. All you knew was that your dad had been the one who had asked a lot of the questions. But you didn't make eye contact with him as you tried to focus on answering all of his questions honestly. Which at first was easy since he first was only asking about the beginning of the trip.

But then it changed once he started asking about that night and the night before. The whole atmosphere in the room seemed to change as he started asking about it. You couldn't even seem to focus on anyone in the room anymore as you fought to keep your focus on the questions and not on the memories as they tried to take over. Which was proving to be extremely difficult as you fought against your own senses as they kept telling you that Keith was right beside you.

"Tell us about what had happened during the self defense class the night before the attack." Your dad said in a flat tone as he had for all of the questions up to that point.

"That night during class my dad and I had decided that we were going to go over the escapes from the headlock maneuvers." You answered as you tried to stay calm.

"And what happened?" He asked.

"Well it started out fine. I was the aggressor and my dad was the victim. And we went through both the cross chest and the choke hold very slowly as he described each move as we showed the class." You explain. "And we thought we were good."

You then dropped your head more and slightly clinched your hands. "But then Keith wanted to see them again from the aggressor's point of view.  So my dad and I switched roles.  Only he went faster than I was expecting.  And before I knew it, I was starting to lock up again. Sure I got out of the cross chest. But the moment that his arm was around my neck for the choke hold I started to panic."

"How so?" You heard him ask as if in an echo while you tried to fight off the feeling of your old councilor as his hands started to move across your skin.

But even as you fought against it. You started to feel his breathing on your neck before he aggressively kissed it. You could even hear him practically panting in your ear. Your heart started to race at the realization that you were about to fall into his trap again. You tightly clutched your hands again as you desperately fought against it.

"Your okay love."  You heard a sweet accented voice say before he gave your hand a simple kiss. "He's not here. It's just us."

You lightly gasped as you blinked your eyes and did a slow scan of the room as everything slowly came back into focus.  And as you looked around you saw everyone giving you an encouraging smile. You slightly smiled back as you felt your heart rate start to calm back down. He was right after all.

"What do you remember after that?" You heard Korn ask.

"Nothing." You answered as you looked at him before lowering your eyes again. "Except waking up in sickbay."

"And what did the doc say was wrong?" Korn asked.

"He didn't see anything physically wrong and suggested that I talk to the person who had helped me out with this issue in the past." You said before you looked slowly looked up at dad. "So my dad got it arranged for me to talk to my boyfriend."

"And did that help?" Korn asked as he watched you.

You dropped your head as Ignis slid his thumb slowly over the top of your hand. "Not that time. That night we ended up having a fight instead."

"Which didn't really help.  But I don't think anything would have helped that night."  You said as you interlaced your fingers with his and started rubbing his hand as you continued.  "Nothing I did seem to help me calm down.  At least not enough to sleep.  So instead of taking the chance of waking up the  Lady Lunafreya, I decided to go down to the galley to help out with midrats."

"That was when I saw Chris as he grabbed some bagged lunches for the navigation watch team." You said as you kept your head down. "We didn't say anything to each other though. Instead I left the galley and headed down to the fantail weather decks to get some fresh air instead.  I was hoping that the cool night air along with the quiet noise of the water would help me calm down."

"Why did you go there? Why didn't you just go to the bridge instead?" Korn asked.

"To be honest, I just wanted to be alone for a while so that I could try to calm down myself."  You tightened your grip on Ignis.  "I never thought that I would be attacked. Otherwise I would have chosen a different spot.

You felt Ignis tighten up his grip on you as he must of felt you tense up. For you could once again see the blue luminescence I'm the water, smell the cool salty breeze and feel the gentle vibration of the ship engines through your fingers as you gripped the railing. You tightened up your grasp on his hand as you tried to stay anchored to him. You didn't want to get lost in the sea of emotions like you had last time.

"Can you tell me what happened next?" Korn asked as the entire room practically froze as they we waited.

Suddenly you were back on Atlantis standing by the railing as you looked out over the water. "It was pitch black when I first stepped outside the door.  But after I pausing for a few minutes as I waited for my eyes to adjust, I was able to see well enough to walk over to the railing and look out over the water."

"The air felt cool that night as it mixed with the salty sea air. And the sea had a beautiful florescent blue light glimmered off of it. I was so immersed in thought as I looked out over the water that I didn't even hear him coming from behind me."  You said as if you were narrating.  "Not until...."

You then continued to describe the whole thing as your whole body seemed to be completely immersed in it once again.  It was as if your voice was separate from you as you described that horrible night.  The calm moment being turned into pure terror as he grabbed you.  But you kept talking and telling them about it.  You had to.  Keith wasn't going to win this time.

******Author Note******

Okay, so this one was a bit late coming out.  But I was having a hard time trying to figure out how to get to this point.  It's not really an easy topic to bring up, even as a character in a book

Well that and Persona 5 Royal has had my attention a lot lately.  (Great game by the way.  If you love FFXV as much as I do, I HIGHLY recommend playing Persona 5 Royal.  You won't be disappointed.)  I normally don't endorse other games while writing about another, but this one is REALLY good, if you looking for something to distract from our current situation.  Of course you could always play and beat FFXV again for the 10th time.....hmm.....perhaps....

Anyway, now that the story has finally been told, you start to feel that you have a bit more control over it.  But will it be enough to convince the courts of his crime.  Only time will tell.  In the meantime, it's time to race.

But wait a minute, what the hell's going on. Why can't you see?  What's going on?

Thanks for reading.  :)
