Chapter 60 - Lunafreya

******SPOILER ALERT******

IF YOU HAVE NOT REACHED ALTISSIA IN THE GAME YET AND YOU ARE PLANNING ON IT. DON'T WATCH THE VIDEO. I would hate to SPOIL it for you. :)

***************************

You watched the images as if you were viewing them through the safety of your tv at house. Except it felt like an endless broadcast, as the images seemed to play over and over before your eyes. You weren't sure what any of it meant. But your past had already told you, that it was a real vision. The events were going to happen.

Now when and how it was going to take place? That was a different story since you had no idea. All you could tell was that it would be sometime in the future.  And this was based on how old Luna and Noctis appeared to be.  Now whether they would be okay, or if they were going to be hurt, or possibility killed, was the thought that seemed to wake you up.

Well, that and the fact that you felt your body being lifted up off the floor. Even though you were only stirred enough for you to be aware that you could smell your dad's cologne as you felt his arms wrap around you. Because after that, you fell unconscious again as he started to move you. Which seemed to be at a fast pace as you felt your hair move across your face as everything blacked out again.

You weren't sure what time it was when you slowly started to back wake up completely.  All you knew was that you could hear your dad talking.  You slowly opened up your eyes and saw him talking with the doctor. Then you felt your heart almost stop as you saw what looked like your mom standing beside him. The woman that was standing next to your dad, was dressed like your mom would be in her usual skirt and blouse as she clutched her purse in front of her. You tried to see her face, but she had her back mostly to you as they talked.

"She looks to be okay." The doctor was saying. "At least nothing serious enough that a good rest won't cure."

"Do we know what happened?" Your dad asked.

"No.  We haven't been able to figure it out." Doc said as he shook his head. "We'll just have to wait until she wakes up and we can ask her in person."

"I'm fine dad." You said as you looked down as you slowly pushed yourself up to sit up on the edge of the bed.

You kept your eyes down as you sat up.  You were too afraid to look at the woman anymore as you knew that it couldn't possible be your mom.  And you didn't need to tease yourself into thinking that it was.

Your dad quickly moved over to you and wrapped his arms around you. "Oh thank the six."

You slightly smiled as you let him hug you for a moment before he let go again. Then he dropped down to one knee and gave you a worried look. You smiled back at him as he reached up and ran his fingers across your cheek as he scanned your face.  He gave you a relieved look as he let out a deep breath.

"How are you feeling?" He asked as he watched you carefully. "Are you in any pain?"

"I'm just little tired is all." You said as you tried to sit up as straight as possible.

You didn't want your dad to worry about you. So you tried to relax as much as possible and make it look like you were perfectly fine. Even though you felt totally exhausted. Your whole body felt drained of all of your energy, as if it had been pulled right out of you.

"What happened?" He asked as he searched your face carefully.

"I'm not completely sure myself." You said as you dropped your gaze.  "All I remember was touching Luna on the shoulder as I tried to get her to stop. Then......."

You froze as you looked at the floor.  You could bring yourself to say anything else.  You were still too nervous to share with them any of the visions that you had seen. Especially now. You were afraid that they might admit you into the psych ward. And there was no way you were telling any of those doctors what was going on.

"Then?"  Your dad asked as he watched you.

You just slowly shook your head as you kept your head down. Your dad then reached up and ran his fingers through your hair as he moved it behind your ear. You hated keeping secrets from him. But you weren't exactly sure how to tell him about it all either.  Since it had felt like more then just visions this time.  No, there had been some magic involved this time.  You weren't sure which power.  But you had felt it just as sure as the electricity you had felt from before.

And sure your dad had seen you use magic before. But this was different.  This time it had seemed as if she had used your body as almost like a source for her powers.  As she looked straight into your thoughts as she did it.

"It's okay if you don't remember." Your dad said quietly as he looked at you. "I'm just glad that your not hurt."

"Me too." You quietly said before you gave him a quick glance.

Then as you glanced around, that was when you realized that you hadn't seen Luna. "Where's Luna?"

"She's still in the room with the family." Your dad quietly said.

"Is she okay?" You asked as you gave your dad a worried look as you sat up straight again.

"She's fine." Your dad said with a slight smile. "And so is someone else. And I have a feeling that you had a lot to do with that."

Your mouth slowly dropped open as you looked back at your dad in confusion. "I don't understand."

"How about I show you." He said with a smile. "It will make more sense if you see it for yourself."

You glanced around as you tried to sort this out in your head. "Yeah.  Okay."

Your dad then helped you to get back onto your feet. Then with a smile, he turned and lead you back into the other room again. You still felt tired as you walked, but at least you could still walk and stand on your own. Which was already better. Doc seemed to be right when he said that some rest was all you needed. Because even that small bit of rest, seemed to have recharged you a bit.

Of course if you thought that brief rest was what was going to recharge you completely, you couldn't have been further from the truth. Because the minute that you walked back into the room, you felt drained again as you came face-to-face with a room full of people. Each of them were excitedly talking in somewhat loud voices. You couldn't seem to hear one conversation over the others.

But then as you entered the room completely, there seemed to be a shift in the room as everyone stopped and looked at you.  You stopped in your tracks as the room fell silent.  The silence to you was very unsettling.  Especially since everyone was smiling at you.

You were started to feel a bit creeped out as you stood there.  Especially since you had no idea what was going on.  But then the girl's parents came walking up to you with tears in their eyes and huge grins that stretched from ear to ear. You gave them a stunned look as they both reached out and gave you a huge hug each, as they thanked you.

"Thank you so much for helping our daughter." The mom said as she hugged you with tears pouring from her eyes.

"How can we ever repay?"  Her dad asked.

"I would say, 'Your welcome.' "  You said in a confused voice.  "But I'm not sure what you're thanking me for."

"Their thanking you, because of me."  Said a sweet little voice that sounded like it was coming from the bed.

That was when you looked over at the bed and saw that the little girl was sitting up in the bed like she had just woken up from a nap.  Your jaw dropped when you saw that she was bandage free and was smiling back.  Then you saw Luna standing beside her with a lovely smile.  Luna gave you a smile as she looked at you and nodded.

"Apparently, because of the two of you, Luna was able to completely heal the girl of all of her injuries."  Your dad said quietly in your ear as he placed his hand on your shoulder.

You turned your head and gave your dad a stunning look.  "Really?"

Your dad looked down at you and gave you a gentle smile.  "Yeah."

"But how?"  You asked as you searched his face.

"You tell me."  He said as he searched your face.

"Well I don't know."  You said as slightly dropped your gaze as you became even more confused as to what had really happened.  "All I know was that I couldn't move."

"Well whatever you did.  It worked."  Your dad said as he slightly squeezed your shoulder.  "I just wish that I would have witnessed that."

"Me too."  You heard a familiar voice say form beside you.

You glanced over and saw Tracy walking up to the two of you.  "Traaaayyyy.....Hey Sara?  What are you doing here?"

"Your dad asked me to come so that I could keep an eye on Lady Lunafreya while he was in with you."  She said with a smile as she stopped right beside you,  "We do have a detail to cover afterall."

You dropped your head down as you became embarrassed as you realized that the woman with the skirt had been Tracy.  "I'm sorry.  I really blew my first assignment didn't I?"

"Considering that you were able to help save an innocent life," you heard another familiar voice say as they approached, "I think that I can overlook this one.  But only this time.  I don't want you to make a habit of it like your dad was known to do."

"Don't start."  Your dad said as he turned to face the voice.

You looked over and saw Korn and Ignis as they came walking over to you.  Both of them had a slight smile as they tried to hide the concern in their eyes.  You slightly smiled back at them as your dad dropped his hand as you walked over to Ignis.  Ignis stopped in his tracks as you walked up.

Then as soon as you came to a stop in front of him, he reached up cupped your cheek with one hand and moved your hair behind your ear with the other.  "Are you okay love?"

You reached up and wrapped your fingers around his as you spoke.  "I am now."

After what seemed like a hundred questions from the doctors and nurses that had seemed to swarm you until Luna said it was time to head out.  You had been very grateful for the opportunity to be able to leave the room.  And especially since Luna knew that she needed to get back, and now it was starting to get late.  She knew that her brother would be concerned about her if she didn't leave soon.  So after a few more grateful thank you's and hugs, the group was finally followed Luna as she walked out the door and headed for the elevators.

As you followed her down the hallway, you and Ignis held hands while Tracy and your dad handled the protection detail on opposite sides of Luna.  In light of what happened, it had been decided that Tracy would be traveling with you and your dad and be apart of Luna's protection detail.  No one thought that Luna was in any danger while she was within the city walls.  But at the sametime, you weren't in any condition to help your dad even if there was.

You slightly smiled at them as they kept their eyes constantly moving as they watched everything as they walked.  You tried to do that same as you and Ignis followed behind them with Korn in the rear as he talked to the doctor.  Ignis was also looking around as he walked with you.  But he never let go of your hand.  In fact he kept your hand in an almost vice grip as if he was afraid to let go.

"Are you sure that your okay?"  You heard Ignis say from beside you.

You turned your head and looked up at his concerned gaze.  "I'm sure.  I'm just a bit tired is all."

"I can always try to make arrangements for you to stay at the citadel while their gone."  He said as he continued to watch you.

"Your sweet.  And I appreciate your concern."  You said as you slightly squeezed his hand.  "But I really need to go.  How else can I get things set up to study there after high school?  That was your idea I might add."

Ignis dropped his head for a moment and he slightly smiled.  "Your right."  He quietly said.

"We'll only be there for a couple days."  You said with a smile as you squeezed his hand.  "So we'll be back before you know it."

"I know."  He quietly said as he looked back up.

"I just don't like the idea of you being out of my sight again."  He said as he glanced back at you.

"How about I call you when we get there?  Then I show you where we are?"  You said as you looked at him.

"Perhaps just a text to say that you arrived."  He said as he gave you a half smile.  "You will be on protection detail after all.  So communication will have to be limited."

"Yeah."  You said as you dropped your head again.  "But at least I can do that."

Then you were both quiet as everyone entered the elevator to head back down.  Once you inside, you put your hand in your pocket and felt a small box.  You eyes shot open.  You had almost forgotten.  You then quickly pulled out the box and held it in front of you.

"What's that?"  Ignis asked as he glanced at you.

"Oh."   You said as you looked up and handed him the box.  "I had gotten you something for the Holiday.  I hope you like it."

Ignis gave you a curious look as he took the box from you.  "You didn't have to get me anything."

"Oh yes I did."  You smiled back at him.  "Of course it's not as pretty as the promise ring you gave me.  But I hope that you like it just as much"

Ignis gave you a slight smile as he took the box from you.  Then he released your hand so that he could open up the box.  You smiled at him as he removed the lid and relieved the black skull necklace.  He gave it a curious look as he lifted the necklace out of the box.

"This is for me?"  He asked as he curiously studied the necklace.

"Do you like it?"  You asked as you started to get nervous.

"I do."  He said with a slight smile  "But how did you......?"

"Noctis had helped me pick it out.   We were going to give it to you together. But it looks like time wasn't on our side this time."  You replied as the bell went off to let everyone know that the elevator had arrived on the bottom floor.

"That answers my question."  He said as he smiled at it as if in a dream state.

"How so?"  You asked as you gave him a curious look as everyone exited the elevator and headed out.

"It's rather kind of silly now.  But when Noctis and I were kids, we use to play pirates with his mom.  He of course was the captain and I was  his first mate."  He said with a sad smile.  "I think that was one our favorite games at the time.  His mom would read to us, then we would play it out.  At least when I had time to play I would."

Ignis then got a very serious look on his face.  "But that all seemed to change once I lost my mom.  That was also when I stopped playing with him like that."

"Why did you stop?"  You asked as you watched him carefully as you walked out of the hospital and headed for the car.

"Well to be honest, I was a bit jealous of him."  Ignis said as he slowly ran the chain through his fingers.  "He now had something that I could never have again.  I actually hated him for a while because of it."

You gave him a sad smile as you reached up and started to rub his back.  You could see the hurt in his body as he tensed up.  His eyes may not have shown that he was upset.  But his body was a different story.

"You can image how horrible I felt after hearing about his mom."  He said in a quiet tone   "That was when I put aside my own grief and started to take my role a little more seriously."

"I can see how that would change things." You said as you wrapped your arm around his waist as you walked.  "Perhaps this can be a happy reminder of those days."

Ignis then slowly looked back at you.  "Indeed. Thank you "

"Try it on." You said with a smile as you released him.

Ignis then gave you a small smile. Then you watched him with a slight smile as he put it around his neck. Once it was on, he ran his fingers over the skull with a small smile.

"It looks great on you." You said with a huge grin.

Ignis slightly smiled as he slowly looked at you.  "Thank you."

You then smiled absently at him as you reached up and started rubbing the pendant that he had gotten you a few years ago.  You watched him give you a slightly surprised look. Then he slightly smiled at you again.

"You still have the pendant I gave you." He quietly said as he met your eyes again.

"Of course." You returned with a huge grin.

You then looked down at it as you continued to rub your fingers on it.  "I've had to replace the chain a couple times since you first gave it to me. But..."

But before you could say another word, he reached over and wrapped his arm around you and pulled you in close.  You were a bit surprised as he held you against his chest for a moment as everyone stood in the parking lot.  Then he gave you a gentle kiss on your head.   You smiled at him as you laid your head against his chest and wrapped your arms around his waist.  You couldn't help but to smile from his reaction.

"I thought that you had stopped wearing it by now."  He quietly said as he held you.

"Never."  You quietly replied.  I just don't wear it in the pool."  You quietly responded.  "I don't want the chlorine to damage it."

"A very wise decision."  He said as he slowly released you.  "I shall do the same with mine."

You smiled back at him with a big grin.  "Sounds good."

"Are you ready to head out?"  You heard your dad say from the other side of the car.

"Yeah."  You replied as you quickly looked at your dad.

Then you turned back to Ignis.  "I'll text you when we get there and when we are on our way back."

"That sounds good."  He said as he released you completely.

"Love you."  You said and gave him a quick kiss.

"Love you too."  He said as he opened up the door for you.  "Be safe."

"We will."  You said back to Ignis as you got in and sat down.

Then Ignis closed the door as your dad came around and got into his seat.  "Keep an eye on my place would yeah."

"Yes sir."  Ignis replied back as he kept his eyes on you.

"Don't worry Paul.  Your house is in good hands."  Paul replied with a smile.

"It better be."  Paul said with a joking smile back at Korn.  "I'll keep you informed if anything comes up."

"Yes, please do."  Korn responded.

Then with that, your dad climbed in and soon the car was in motion as he started to head for the light house.  You watched the scenery fly by as your dad drove out of Insomnia.  You had almost forgotten how beautiful the city was during the winter holiday time.  The lights lining the streets brought with it a magical atmosphere.  You couldn't help but to smile as the car drove past them. You tried to take in as much of it as possible since it would more than likely be gone by time you got back.

"So how long have you been using magic?" You heard Luna ask you as she sat beside you.

Your eyes flew wide open and your heart stopped at her words. How does she know that I can wield magic? I haven't told anyone. And the only other person here who has seen it and knows that that was what I did, is in the front seat. And I know that he hasn't said anything about it to anyone.

"What do you mean?"  You cautiously asked as you slowly turned to look at her.

"You used magic back there to help me out."  She said with a sweet smile.  "That's a skill that's not easily learned.  In fact, most people can't even control it."

"But I didn't control anything."  You corrected as you gave her a confused look.  "I passed out."

"You controlled it better then you think."  She said back with a smile.  "With a bit of guidance, you could be a powerful healer."

"Really?"  You asked as you gave her a stunned look.

"Really."  She said with a huge smile.  "I can show you a bit as we travel.  Then when we get to Tenebrae I can show you a few tricks to help you out."

You couldn't help but to smile.  You had wanted to learn more about the magic aspect of your skills ever since you first pulled the raw energy from the canisters.  The whole idea if it was nerveracking, but exciting at the same time.  And as you looked at Luna, you could see that she would be the best person to show you how to handle something as strong as raw magic.

"Okay."  You quietly responded.

Then you started to get excited.  "Yeah.  I would really like to learn more about it."

"Let's make a deal then.  I'll teach you magic and you can share with me some of the memories that you have with Noctis."  She said with a smile.

"Deal."  You said as you reached your hand out to her.

She smiled back as she took your hand once again.  But as her hand touched yours, you felt a jolt go through you again.  But unlike the last time, this one didn't take over completely.  Instead it felt more like a warm feeling that started in your fingers and ran through your body as if she was pouring warm water through your veins. You stared in awe as you watched a soft glow travel through you, as you felt your whole body regaining all of your energy again.

After a moment she released your hand.  You looked at your hands and arms as you watched the glow slowly die away as if it was absorbed into you.  You then looked at Luna and slightly smiled as you felt like you had when you had first picked her up that morning.  She gave you a gentle smile back as she relaxed in her seat again.

"How do you feel now?"  She asked as the last of the glow disappeared.

"I feel good again.  That was incredible."  You said as you looked over at her.  "How did yo do that?"

"I can show you."  Luna said as she smiled sweetly at you.

As you traveled to the light house, Luna started to explain about the different types of magic. She told you that there were 5 major ones. And from those it was possible to enhance by fusing them together. Or they could be slightly changed by combining the different types.

She also mentioned that it was possible to use various items to change them even further.  Since some items contained certain elemental properties. Those items could be added to fusion and could create a whole new spell.  And the more items added, the stronger the spell.

"How do you know so much about this?" You asked as you hung on every word she said.

"Well, every Oracle learns this during their training.". She said with a smile.

"Do you have to do a 'test' in a sense like the Kingsglaives have to?". You asked.

"In a way, yes."  She said as she slightly dropped her head.  "But for us, it's not a trial by the crystal. We have to go on a pilgrimage and leave behind something that will enhance the local area for many years to come.  I'm planning on doing my here by adding to the havens that are located all across Eoas.  I want to make sure that each one has a draw spot for the three major elements that are found in nature."

"Really?" You asked with surprise.  "Which ones are those?"
"Those would be the three largest elements, fire, ice, and electricity." She said as she looked back up at you.

"Just like the gods themselves." You almost whispered back.

"Preciesily." She said with a smile. "I want to bring the gods closer to humans. The idea is to have those draw locations near the havens so humans can safely use or store that magic.  It's kinda like a reminder to the gods of our truce.  But at the same time, it also serves to remind humans of our oath to the gods, to serve them well and to never use their magic to cause harm."

"But what if it gets into the wrong hands?"  You asked as you searched her face.

Unfortunately, it already has."  She said as she dropped her head.  "I'm just hoping that now I might be able to give to those who aren't.  You know, level the playing field if you will."

"I think that's a noble pilgrimage."  Your dad said to her.

She slowly looked up at him in surprise.  "Really?"

"Really."  He said back with a smile.

"When will you be starting your pilgrimage?". Tracy asked as she glanced back at Luna.

"It won't be for a couple more years."  She said as she looked around.  "I still have to finish up my schooling first."

"Really, what grade are you in?" You asked out of surprise.

"I'm, what you might consider to be a sophomore in high school." She said as she shifted in her seat.

"Your my age?" You asked with your jaw wide open.  "That's incredible."

"Luna is to be the youngest Oracle in history." Your dad said as he looked at you through the rearview mirror.  "She has a very heavy burden that she has chosen to take on by herself."

"I don't see it as a burden." Luna said as she looked down.  "But more like my calling.  BecauseI know that it will help out Noctis."

You gave a simple smile. "You really care a lot about him. Don't you?"

Luna quickly looked away from you. But not before you saw her cheeks turn bright red. You dropped your head as well as you felt your heart sink as you thought about the kiss that you had shared with Noctis.  It was bad enough to hurt Ignis.  But then as you looked at Luna and saw her response. You felt lower than dirt.  You never wanted to hurt her. And especially since she had no idea about the history between all of you.

"I like to think that we had grown very close when he was at Tenebrae all those years ago."  She quietly said as she looked down.  "We use to spend so much time together.  And a lot of it was spent in the garden outside. He was in a wheel chair while he was there, so I use to push him around as we talked.  Then if it was raining, we would just hang out in my room and talk.  We had so much fun together."

You watched her as she sat there with a slight smile on her face.  But then you saw her smile fade as she looked hard at the ground.

"That was until the Empire attacked." She said in a quiet voice.   "We had all been outside that day.  My family and his dad were all standing there waiting for us to come back from our walk. But they attacked right as we got close."

You watched her careful as you could see the pain start to come across her face as she started to remember that day.  She got really quiet and clasped her hands into tight fists.  You reached over and placed your hand on her's.  She slightly jumped as she looked back up at you.

"You want to know something interesting?" You asked as you tried to distract her.

She slowly looked back up at you with surprise. "Sure."

"Noctis and I met in a park." You said with a smile.

"Really?" She asked with a shocked look.

"Yeah." You returned with a smile.

"Would you tell me about it?" She asked with a slight smile again.

You dropped your hand as you sat back to relax. You smiled back at her as you saw her start to get excited about hearing about him.

"I would love to princess." You replied as you grinned back.

******Author Note******
I apologise for the late posting for this chapter. But it was proving to be very difficult to write.  It was hard to figure out how to get to the next stage of the story.

I just hope that you liked it and will continue with me as we make our way back to Tenebrae.

Thanks for reading.  :)
