Chapter 57 - Near Perfect Escape

"YOUR telling me that this is the girl that we have been trying to get for the last four months?"  You heard someone saw in a really deep voice.  "She's nothing by a child."

"I can assure you Emperor  Legolas, she is more than just a child." You heard Caligo say as he stood not to far from you as you were kneeling on the ground. "This girl has the same warping gift as Noctis himself."

You slightly opened your eyes so that you could see where you where. As you slightly moved your eyes, you could see through the soldiers, what looked to be a huge machine to your left. Off to  your right was more soldiers. Then there was a throne type seat in front of you with someone in white seated there. You figured that must be the Legolas guy that Caligo just mentioned. Than your heart stopped for a moment.

Emperor Legolas? Could that be thee, Emperor Ledolas Aldercapt who rules over all of Nifelheim? This isn't good. You thought to yourself as you whole body went tense. I have to get out of here.

"She is what we need to test out our machine."  You heard  a deep male voice growl.

"She has also proven to be very resourceful and had been very well protected by the royal family until last night." You heard a young female voice say. "She may prove to be very useful your excellency."

Immediately your heart started racing. HOLY SHIT! I really have to get out of here. Before they try to use me against Noctis. You though as you now knew why they really wanted you.

It wasn't only to get your parents to talk about the secrets that they had on the empire. No, they had a deeper reason and for you it was more personal. They were trying to get to Noctis, King Regis, and all of Insomnia through you. If this machine that they were talking about had a means to take away their power, then all of Lucis was in trouble.

Damn it! You shouted at yourself. How could I be so stupid?! I have to get myself and everyone else in those cells out of here. I won't let them get hurt. And I can't let the empire learn anything else.

"So young lady, what secrets do you have for me?" You heard Legolas' silky voice say to you.

You sat there and didn't move as you felt your hands start to shake as you tried to figure out how to get out of the rope that were holding you. If only you could get a blade, then you could cut your way out. You closed your eyes again as you tried to think. Is it possible to only summon an arrow without the bow? There was only one way to find out. You thought as you concentrated on only an arrow in your hand. You could picture the slim metal shaft with it's razer blade tip and featherly tail.

Your breath caught when you felt the metal shaft in you right hand.  Quickly you started using the tip to cut through the ropes holding your wrists.  You knew that you only had a few seconds before someone saw what you were doing.  You felt the first two strains brake apart and the tension loosen up on your wrists.

"Is she asleep or something?" Legolas asked when you didn't respond.

While still cutting the rope, you slightly glance to your right as saw that Caligo had a ID card of some sort hanging from his uniform. If you could get that, it might be the ticket to getting you the access to the system. Perhaps it might even open all of the doors. You had to get that ID card. Once you had that, then you should be able to get everyone out.

"Well someone please get her up?" Legolas said with impatience.

Calgio sneered then grabbed the back of your head by your hair and yanked it back so that you had to look up. But right as he did that you cut through the last threats of the rope. So you opened your eyes up at him with daggers. He was stunned for a moment as he looked at you. You quickly rocked forward then backwards onto your toes. As you did, you leaned back against his hand hard which, unintentionally, helped you stand up. You then reached over and grabbed his ID card off of him and shoved him off to the side.

The motion caused him to stumble into the soldier that was standing near him. You quickly turned around and stared straight at a stunned girl with white hair and dressed in black and red armor. You noticed her tall red boats and what looked to be the hilt of a dagger sticking out of the boat. You dove for her legs and did a double leg takedown on her. The motion caught her off guard and she came down hard and slammed her head against the ground.

You reached in her boot and grabbed her dagger, then quickly rolled over and sliced through the rope holding your ankles. By now the room was starting to figure out what was really happening which meant you had to leave and now. So you quickly got to your feet and started shoving your way out of the room as you put the ID card in your bra by your left breast. You knew that no one would look there. Not unless they wanted to pull away a broken hand that is.

You were almost to the door when you heard Legolas yell from behind you. "GET HER YOU IDIOTS!"

Instantly the whole room quickly started after you. You put your hand off to the side and summoned your bow. The soldiers right beside you, stopped for a moment as the motion stunned them. You slightly smiled then quickly turned to the closest one and kicked him hard in the side. The hit threw them off balance and they bumped into the two other soldiers beside them. You then turned around and drew back your bow and shot several arrows at the approaching soldiers. You were afraid to really hurt them. For all you wanted to do was slow them down. So you aimed for their legs for the most part so that you could stop them from getting to you.

After taking out the ones right near you, you took off running out of the round dome room that you had been in. Once you were outside you saw the control panel off to the side. You quickly hit the red button which closed the door. You then summoned an arrow in your hand and slammed it into the control panel which caused several sparks to fly and the panel to go dead.

You then turned around and looked at the rest of the room. You heart almost completely stopped as suddenly the red lights the covered the wall in the room started turning green and magitek soldiers started coming at you from every direction.

"Oh shit." You said to yourself, then you turned back to the dome room and ran around behind it and saw a walkway that lead to a door. You quickly ran across the walkway as you heard the soldiers starting to break through the glass that was surrounding the doom room. You quickly pulled out the card and swiped it through the scan slit for the door. Much to your relief the door opened up. You quickly ran in and looked at the hallway that stood before you.

Once inside, you once again dismantled the door lock with another arrow. Then you saw all of the boxes by the door and decided to drag a few of them out an into their path to help slow them down. You had gotten three of the moved when you heard someone trying to break the door down. You quickly left the door and ran down the hallway. You soon came across a room that was empty with the exception of instrumental panels. You closed the door and dismantled the door lock before turning to the instrument panels that lined the walls.

It looked like most the panels were off or out of order. You stood back up and looked around and saw a room that was adjacent to where you were. You walked over and saw a few panels up against the back wall. But these were behind a fence of some sort. Probable not what you wanted, but it might be a good place to hide or stash someone.

You were starting to walk away when you heard voices drifting down the hallway that led off the room. So you quietly peeked around the corner and saw another room at the end. So you took the dagger that you had gotten off the girl in red and threw it down the hallway and got it to stick in a wooden crate that was near the end. You then warped to the dagger.

You slightly smiled to yourself as you silently thanked Noctis for working with you on warping. You knew that it would be handy. But you didn't think that you would be using it so soon. You also thanked Ignis for showing you how to throw daggers. It just showed that all of that training was now paying off. You thought as you smiled to yourself as you briefly remembered the training sessions with each of them. You slowly rocked the blade out of the crate as you looked around the room and saw that there were several people in the room all looking at the panels and screens that were on.

You slightly dropped your head. You didn't want to hurt anyone, but you had to get them out of there. Perhaps it would be best to trap these guys in that separate room. But first things first, you had to get them there and you didn't have much time to waste. So with that you slowly slide out from behind the crate and summoned your bow. Then you pulled the string back and aimed for one of the monitors on the opposite wall.

Then you took a deep breath as you refocused, then let the arrow fly. It flew across the room and hit one of the screens on the other side of the room. The whole room froze as they looked at the arrow sticking out of the now sparking monitor. Then you slowly started walking into the room with your bow to the ready. The people closest to the door quickly backed away from you.

"Unless you want that to you be your head, I would suggest that you do what I tell you." You said with a more confident voice then it felt as you heart was slamming against your chest as you slowly entered the room.

"I want everyone to leave this room and head down the hallway. There's a room on the right. I want everyone in there." You said as you slowly started aiming the arrow at each and everyone's head to make your point.

They all stood transfixed in place as if held by fear. "GO!" You shouted, which caused a few to jump. "NOW!" You shouted as you shot another arrow at another screen that was right behind a young lady's head.

She screamed then ran for the hallway followed by everyone else in the room. As they ran out you noticed another room that was off to the side that looked to be a meeting room with a blue image coming from the center table. You walked in there and saw that there were a couple people standing behind the wall. The first person tried to lunge at you in an attempt to grab you. You quickly shot him in the leg. The girl that was with him screamed as he fell to the ground as he grabbed his leg.

"Get him out of here." You told her as you searched the rest of the room.

The girl quickly grabbed him and helped him to his feet. Then they both stumbled as they quickly headed out of the room and down the hallway. After ensuring that the room was empty, you searched the first one as well. Then after seeing that everyone had did as told, you went down the hallway. You saw that they all had gotten into the room as you told them. So you closed the door on them and jammed an arrow into the panel before releasing your bow and making it disappear.

You then quickly ran back down the hallway and dismantled that lock. Once that was done you started to study the instrument panels and monitors. Your heart leaped when you saw that images of your parents and the other prisoners on one set of screens. You quickly studied the panels and released the lock on the door to the right.

You were greet by yet another hallway, which you quickly ran down. Then once you reached the end you saw the steel bars that you had been looking at the past few hours. You quickly swiped the access card again and opened up the doors. As the steel doors opened up you ran inside. You heard several people shuffling away from the door as you came in. You saw an older gentleman in the first open cell. He looked ready to fight until he saw it was you.

"But how...?" He said as he gave a you an astonished look.

"Later." You told him. "How many people are here beside my parents?"

"There's only one other couple besides me." He said in a stunned tone as if he can't believe what he's seeing. "All of the others have been taken away already. Are you with the Kingsglaives?"

You slowly shook your head as you smiled at him. "No." Then you rolled your eyes. "Well not yet anyway. But we don't have time for that. We're getting out of here. Gather up the others and head for the control room. We're leaving now."

He stood up and walked out of his cell as you ran down the hallway towards the other cells. You had to find your parents. But like he had said, most of the cells were empty. But then you came to a intersection. You looked down one and saw a couple standing there in shock to see you standing there in the hallway with no one around.

"Quick, head to the control room." You told them. "We're getting out of here."

You were very relieved when they just simply nodded, then quickly left their cell and ran down the hallway towards the control room. You then turned the other direction and looked down the last hallway. You saw two sets of arms coming out of the cell.

"(Y/n)?"  You heard your mom say.  "Is that you?"

With tears streaming down your cheeks you ran over to the cell. Both of your parents were by the door with huge stunned faces as they half laughed and half cried as they looked at you. You grabbed their hands really quick, then when about unlocking the cell. Once the door opened, both of your parents grabbed you and hugged you tight. You hugged them both back very hard before releasing them.

"We have to go. Did you text Ignis?" You asked them both as they stared at you with tears and pride in their eyes.

"I did, but the message still won't go through." You mom said as she handed you back your phone.

"Then let's make it go through." You said with determination.

Both of your parents smiled broadly at you, then the three of you left the cell and headed for the control room. Once they got there they both looked around as they scanned the area. Then your mom spotted the room with the blue image coming from the table. She quickly headed for the room. She then stopped by the table and quickly started typing on the control panel and had the image dancing as it broke down the building and the security within it.

She then was able to quickly break down through the security code and cause the jammer to turn off. You quickly looked at your phone and held your breath as you watched the message trying to send. Then your heart leaped as it showed sent. You smiled back at your mom.

"It sent." You quietly said as you almost cried as you smiled at your mom. She gave you a relieved smile back.

"Well now to get out of here." Your dad said.

"What is the quickest way out?" Your dad asked your mom.

"It looks like the best way is to go through the hanger bay." She said as she quickly typed and had the model dancing again as it show the escape route. "We'll leave by the door in the other room and take the elevator all the way to the hanger deck. From there we head to other side of the hanger and take that elevator to the ground floor which will lead us to the train station. Once we're there we can hop a train and head out of here. The trains here run all night and don't have a live person controlling them, so we won't be detected once we are onboard."

You stared at you mom in astonishment. How the hell did you miss how brilliant your mom was all this time? You thought to yourself as you looked from your mom over at your dad. Who smiled back at her.

"Then let's go." He said. Then everyone quickly headed for the door.

You swiped the card and had the door flying open, when you thought that you heard sounds coming from the other room. Everyone else quickly ran through the door as you paused by the door. Once everyone was through, you slammed an arrow in the panel just before it closed behind you. You then quickly followed your parents down the hallway.

Once you reached the next room your dad was very pleased. He quickly looked around and started handing out weapons to everyone in the group. Only the other couple looked stunned.

"I don't know had to shot this." Gwen's mom said as she stood there holding a handgun as she tried to argue with your dad.

"It's easy. Aim at them and pull the trigger. The gun will do the rest." Your dad tried to say with a reassuring grin. "Just be sure that whatever you aim at, you intent to kill. Which means aim at them and not at us."

She stood there in shock as she stared at the gun in her hand before looked back at your dad as he walked away. Your mom slightly smiled as she readied the two handguns that she was loading up. The other gentleman seemed to really be getting into it as he had two fully-automatic rifles and a belt full of clips now. He had a smile on his face as he had one gun on his back and the other in his hand.

"Now that's more like it." He said with a grin. "Let's go kick some imperial ass."

The three of you couldn't help but to smile at him.  As you were grabbing a set of daggers, you noticed the canisters that were scattered throughout the cabinets. They seemed to glow with different colors and almost seemed to be full of some type of energy. Red looked like fire, blue like ice, and the yellow ones looked like solid electricity.

"What are these?" You asked as you looked at them.

"Those are energy containers for storing raw energy for spell casters." Your dad said as he glanced at them really quick.

You looked hard at them for a moment.

I wonder if I would be able to draw out the energy from these like I can draw myself to the daggers. You thought as you looked at the dagger in your hand.

Only one way to find out. You thought at you placed both daggers in one hand and reached out your other hand towards the canisters as you concentrated on the energy in front of you.

Then with a slight blue mist coming off of your hand you felt the electrifying power of the yellow container flow into your body as you seemed to absorb the raw energy into your body. After the glow in the canister disappeared as if to show that it was empty, you looked at your hand at it seemed to spark now. You then looked at the electrical panel for the door.

You clutched your hand as you concentrated the energy into a ball. Then you quickly threw your hand towards the panel like you were throwing a ball. You watched in astonishment as a ball of electricity went flying at the panel and shorted it out after it hit it. You then looked back at your hand as it still sparked. You slightly smiled as you watched the electricity dance on your hand. Then you turned and looked at the stunned adults who stood before you.

"When the hell did you learn how to do that?" The guy with the guns asked. "I thought that only glaives could do that."

You then realized that you may have forgotten to mention that part about the weapons to your parents. You thought as you stared at their stunned expressions. But then again that had been the day that they had been taken hostage and you had been attacked. In fact, most of that day still sent chills down your spin for it changed your life forever. So you don't really talk about it much.

"So you can....?" You dad started to say.

"Yeah." You quietly said as you gave them a hurt look. "I'm sorry I should have told you. But we linked up with Noctis the day that you got kidnapped. King Regis told Cor to have us link up because of what happened with you."

Your mom went to say something but nothing came out as she stood there with her mouth open. You dropped your gaze as they stared at you. You started to felt a bit like a freak now as they stared at you.

"Hey..." The guy with the guns quietly said to you as he slowly walked up to you.

"Can you teach me that trick?" He quietly asked you.

"I wish I could. But I'm not even sure how I do it." You said as you looked away from him and back at your parents.

"Noctis had to show me how to use it to warp. But we never tried it with raw energy like this before." You finished as you looked at your hands again as a bit of electricity went across the back of your hand.

Suddenly your phone rang. Everyone jumped at the sound. You then quickly grabbed your phone from the small pocket in your skirt. Your heart immediately leaped as you saw that it was Ignis calling you. You quickly answered the phone and put it on speaker.

"(Y/n)?" You heard a very stressed accented voice say over the phone.

"Are you there?" Your heart leaped up into your throat as you recognized Ignis' sweet voice.

"Yeah." You barely choked out. "I'm here."

"Oh thank the astrals. Are you alright?" You heard him say as his heart started to leave his throat.

"We're all fine." You tried to reassure him. "We are getting ready to make our way to the train station."

"Wait," he quickly started, "where are you?"

"We're at the Niflheim headquarters." You said as your dad gestured for everyone to make their way out of the room and towards the elevator. "I was able to find my parents and few other prisoners. But we will need help once we get out of here."

"The other people with you, is there another couple there about your parents age?"   You heard Korn ask over the phone as everyone climbed into the elevator and you hit the lowest button.

"Yeah," you started as you stared at the phone in disbelief. "but how did you...."

"That's Gwen's parents. They were taken hostage just like your parents were." He loudly said, which caused everyone to freeze as the door closed behind them and the elevator started to make its way to the hanger bay. "Gwen told us, in a roundabout way since she's being controlled by the Nif right now."

You watched as her mom caught her breath as she placed her hand on her face. Her husband wrapped his arm around her as he tried to fight back the tears as well. Your heart started to brake for them as you watched them. You could tell that they were not prepared to hear that.

"But not to worry. Now that they are found I can help her." Korn tried to reassure them. "In the meantime make your way to the train and we will meet you once you're outside the city limits. But sure to keep your phone on so that we can track you. Stay safe and keep together.  Otherwise we won't be able to get you.  We will only get one chance at this and there is no turning back for anyone who gets left behind."

"Right." You and your parents all answered.

"Then get going and we will meet you outside the city." Korn finished.

Right as he finished, the elevator chimed to indicate that it had reach its destination.

"Roger." You said then hung up the phone.

You tightly gripped the phone in your hand for a moment before you put it back in the secret pocket in your skirt. Now that they were on their way, all you had to do was get out of the building and onto the train. You took a deep breath then looked up at your parents. They both nodded at you. Then they gestured for everyone to leave the elevator once they were sure that it was safe.

They both became quiet as they used hand signals to tell everyone when to move and to where. Silently and quickly you were able to cross the hanger floor to the stairs that would take you to the other elevator. You thought you were in the clear when you came to a huge open area. All you had to do was cross it and you would be in the clear for the elevator.

Everyone started making a run for it when suddenly the floor seemed to rumble. You suddenly stopped and quickly turned around and saw a huge robot leap up and land in between you and your parents. It then turned and faced you as you stood there frozen, as all you could do was stare at the huge mechanical monster.  Your parents and the others stopped and turned around after they heard it land.

Gwen's mom screamed when she saw what it was. Your parents stared in horror when they realized that it was coming after you. You took a couple steps backwards as you tried to figure out a way around it.

"Now where do you think your going?" You heard Caligo's voice say as it was coming from what you could only assume was the robot in front of you. "I'm not about to let you get away that easily. And after that stunt, I owe you now."

"Fuck you!" You shouted back at him.

"I would rather die than let you near me again." You said then quickly looked around for a place to warp to.

"Well we wouldn't want that." He said as he moved the machine closer to you with it's guns aimed right at you. "Your pretty little body could teach us so much."

"Like I would ever let you touch me again." You said as you spotted a crate just behind him. "No soap in the world can cut through your greasy touch."

"Who said anything about me touching you?" He asked, then suddenly you heard several troops running up behind you.

Shit. You silently cursed. I don't know if this power is strong enough to really take him out. Well, worse case scenario, it will slow him down. You thought as you concentrated the energy in your hand again then you quickly threw the electric ball at the foot of the robot.

You could tell that your hit was true since the robot started jerking and all you heard was his screams from inside the machine as he was being electrified. You smiled to yourself as you stood up and slightly marveled at the site. Then you half laughed as you watched the machine jerking around. Suddenly the troops behind you caught your attention. You glanced back then quickly threw one of the daggers that you were holding at the crate and warped to it in a millisecond. This put you on the other side of the room by your parents.

"Did you see that?" You asked them with a huge smile try your face.

"Yes we did.  Now can we get going?"  Your mom asked as she tried to grab your hand.

You smiled back at her. But right as you grabbed her hand she quickly stopped in her tracks as a bullet hit her right in the forehead. You froze as a bit of her blood hit your face. You stood there in shook as your mom's body slowly fell down in a limp heap at your feet.

"LYYYYNNNNN!"  Your dad screamed as he ran back towards you and your mom.

You slowly looked down as you felt your whole body go numb as you looked at the now empty eyes of your mom as she laid at your feet. Your dad quickly ran up and fell to his knees as he slid over to her. He quickly picked her up and cradled her.

"No, no, no, no, no...." Your dad cried as he ran his hands through her now blood soaked hair.

He held her for a few minutes as tears poured down from his face. Then he looked up with fury in his eyes as he stared at the machine in the center of the room. You looked back over and saw that the front of the machine was open. And in the opening stood Calgio with a gun in his hand and a sinister grin on his face.

"Get them to safety." Your dad growled to you. "I'm staying so that I can take out as many of these bastards as I can so that you can escape. It's up to you now to see that they get back to their daughter safely."

You stared at him with horror at his words. "But what about this daughter?"

He looked back over at you with all the love that a dad could have for a daughter. "My daughter will live and grow into a beautiful woman and will live out her dreams. I won't have him take those from you. Serve our future king well and know that your mother and I couldn't be prouder of you. And we're sorry that we never told you the truth until now."

You could hardly see as tears poured down your face at your dads words.

"Now go." He said as he gave you a determined look.

You were about to argue with him when you saw the troops coming up the stairs. You reached over and gave him a huge hug. "I love you dad."

"I love you too." He said back as you released him. "Now go before it's too late. I'll try to catch up."

You sadly nodded at him. You knew that he was right. But it was ripping you apart that you had to leave him behind. But with a heavy heart, that was exactly what you did. Your dad watched you run off. Then he turned to his wife's limp body and gave her a gentle kiss on her head before he laid her carefully down on the ground.

"Your going to regret that asshole." Paul said as he stood up.

"Now why would you say that?" Caligo asked as he gave him a cheeky grin.

Paul narrowed his eyes. Then in a flash, he flew across the floor as he warped up to where Caligo was standing and kicked him square in the chest. Caligo went flying away from the machine and landed on the floor in a heap. Your dad then turned back to where he had been standing and saw your stunned expression as you jogged to a stop near the others.

He gave you a huge smile then climbed into the machine. Your breath caught as you realized that he hadn't thought that you were some freak, but instead an equal. You took a deep breath then smiled as you watched him bring the machine to life and turn it towards the fast approaching troops. Your heart started pounded in your chest as you could feel the pride that he was talking about as you watched him start to take out the troops.

"Come on!" You said as you finally turned back towards the others. "We have to go."

With those words the others quickly started running for the main cargo door as it was starting to close. You made it through the door with no problems. As you were running through, you shot a ball of electricity at the door latch and shorted out the circuit board. You knew that you needed as much time as possible to get out of there.

When you turned around, you saw the center elevator that would take you to the ground floor so that you could get to the train station. Everyone quickly ran for the elevator and you hit the button. Only once the door closed did you let the reality of what just happened hit you. You had just lost your mom and even possible your dad. These bastards had once again taken everything from you.

You felt your frustration well up in you as you could feel your temper hit its breaking point. You turned and faced the wall of the elevator and repeatedly started punching the wall. And you didn't stop until Gwen's mom came over and pulled your hands down to your side. But you could still feel the blood starting to drip from your clenched hands as you could feel that the skin was now off of several knuckles.

"Save your strength for the rest of the fight." She said in a calmy motherly voice. "We can't have you lose it now when we're so close to getting out of here."

You took a deep breath as you tried to get back under control. Then with a ding and a slight shutter, the elevator came to a stop. Everyone looked out and was ready with their guns as the doors opened up to the storage room. You were a bit surprised that there wasn't anyone there. But that didn't mean that they weren't waiting somewhere else.

******Author Note******

I know, I know, 'their not out yet?'.  But I have a set limit on how long each chapter is and I have already gone over it. So this will continue into the next chapter. But not to worry, I'm working on it feverishly so that I can get it out shortly.

I do however, hope that you liked this chapter.  It was a fast one to write since to me action scenes go pretty fast.  It's all the filler and plot setup that takes the most time for me.   ;)

Be sure to keep an eye out for the next chapter to find out what happens next.  :)

Thanks for reading. :)
