The rest of the evening was a bit nerve racking for you as you tried to forget what had happened in the kitchen.  Because even though you could still feel the electricity from the exchange.  Neither you nor Noctis said anything to each other about it.  In fact he acted like nothing had happened.  You followed suit since you weren't even sure what to say anyway.  But you could tell that he was struggling with it as much as you were. Since both of you were too nervous to even sit next to each other the rest of the night.

You were almost relieved when he headed home for the night.  You felt bad about wanting him to leave.  But the thought of kissing him when you are with Ignis, bothered you even more.  You felt your heart break as you thought about it. You had cheated on him.  And not with just anyone.  But with Noctis himself.  So now even Luna was being affected and their promise that they had made to each other.

Perhaps this is why retainers are the same gender as their charge. You thought to yourself later on that night as you laid in your bed.

You couldn't seemed to fall asleep as you were curled up in your blankets as you thought about it. It brought tears to your eyes as  your heart felt crushed that you had done that to Ignis.  You never wanted to hurt him like that.  Even if it had practically been an accident, it had still happened.  And to make matters worse, you had actually really liked it at the time.  But as you laid there thinking about it, all you felt was your betrayal to Ignis. Which made you feel lower than dirt as your heart was breaking as you thought about his reaction when he found out.

Then as you laid there, your phone went off.  You grabbed it off of your night stand and saw that it was Noctis. You hung up and put the phone back down.  You really didn't want to talk to him right now.  He was one of the main reasons that you felt so bad. 

But then shortly after you hung it up, he texted you.  You picked up the phone and looked at the screen.

I'm sorry it's late.  But I can't sleep.  Are you awake?

You slightly sighed as you texted him back.  Yeah.

Can you call me so that we can talk?

I don't know.  You replied.

Please?  I don't want this in a text message.

You dropped your head for a moment as you looked at the message.  Then you sighed as you pressed the call button.  You had to agree with him on that one.  You really didn't want to talk about it through a text message either.

"Hey."  He quietly answered as he quickly picked up the phone.

"Hey."  You quietly returned.

"About tonight..."  He started to say.

"I know.  It didn't happened."  You slowly said as you felt your mouth go dry as you could feel the pain of pushing him away.  "And it can never happen again."

Noctis closed his eyes as he tried to fight off the real emotions that he was feeling.  He knew that that should have never happened and why you had said that.  But he couldn't help but feel his heart get crushed from hearing the words coming from you.  Long had he dreamed of kissing you.  But never had he imagined that it would end up this way.  But then again, could it truly end any other way?

"Yeah."  He said in a steady voice, which was in major contrast to his throat as it was tightening up to the point that it was making it difficult to breath, let alone speak.

"And we can never speak of it again."  You said as you felt your heart shatter at the very words coming out of your mouth. 

But you knew you had to say them.  You had to hear them yourself as you told him.  That was the only way to get it through to both of you.  This love could never be.  No matter how much each of you wanted it.  This love was the one true forbidden love that could never be allowed to happen.  For it was the one that would destroy several people in the process.

"If that is what you wish."  He choked out.  "Then that is what it will be."

"It's not what I wish." You said back in a shaky voice. "But it's what it has to be. I care a lot about you Noctis. Perhaps more than I should. But you and I both know that this can't happen. You have Luna and I have Ignis. Both of which would do everything and anything for you. As will I. But they would be the ones that we would be hurting. And I don't want to hurt either of them, especially Ignis. Not after everything that he's done for me."

"I have no intention of hurting either of them." Noctis quietly said as he fought to talk in a calm voice. "But I also don't want you anywhere but by my side. I may not be able to have you personally. But I also won't have you anywhere else. Please tell me that you won't leave me?"

"I will stay by your side for as long as you will have me." You quietly responded as the tears poured down your cheeks.

"Thank you." Noctis quietly said.

The next morning found you nervously waiting in the parking garage for the citadel as everyone waited for Korn and Paul to finalize the lay out for the driving test. You and Noctis were sitting on the curb while Ignis was marking off the track based on the measurements that he had figured out. Neither of you had really said anything to each other after you got off of the phone the night before. You were still a bit too nervous to make him upset and you were still trying to push past it yourself. You had both tried to play it off that you were both tired when Ignis asked if everything was okay. But he didn't look too convinced when he had walked away though.

"Alright, I think we have an idea of where we want everything."  Your dad said as he walked over to you and Noctis.  "So let's get started with setting this up."

Both you and Noctis nodded then stood up to help get everything in place.  Ignis watched both of you as you were setting up the street cones and the modified street signs.  He couldn't get over the change that he noticed in both of you. For neither of you really spoke to the other.  Which was very odd since you both were usually chatting or picking on each other.  But today he noticed that you both seemed to be trying to almost avoid the other.  

The whole thing had him confused since he wasn't sure what had happened the day before since he couldn't seem to get either of you to talk about it.  And Nyx and Pelna said nothing strange happened.  But then they did both admitted that they weren't really paying attention either.  They were enjoying the video game after all.

After everything was set up your dad had Ignis bring over one of the royal cars as well as Noctis' car.  He already had his car parked there as well.  He then explained that he would have each of you drive the royal car separately as Ignis  would run you through the course.  But while waiting for the other to finish, the person waiting, would be driving the car that you were actually going to be driving on a regular bases so that you could learn how to handle it correctly.  That part was to be handled by your dad as he would show you how to handle a standard transmission compared to the automatic one that you would being testing in.  Then if all went well, he would show you a few more invasive moves that you might need in order to escape any threat that you might come across.  

You couldn't help but to smile at your dad as you were starting to get excited again about being able to finally take your driving test.  Let alone that he was finally going to show you how to drive his car.  Which was something that he had promised long before returning to Insomnia.  But it was never able to happen until today due to everything else that had happened.

"So let's start off with Ignis and (Y/n) running through the course."  Your dad said you to and to Ignis.

Both of you nodded and smiled at each other.  You had hoped to start with Ignis.  You wanted to make sure that you were calm when you got into the car with your dad.

"Which means your with me your highness."  Paul said to Noctis, who was glancing over at you and Ignis.

 "Yeah."  He quietly said then walked over to his car.

You couldn't help but watch as your dad climbed into the driver's seat of Noctis' car while Noctis got into the passenger seat.  He looked out of it as he got in.  Then as you started to get into the driver's seat of the royal car, all you saw was your dad chatting with him as he started up the car.  The sound of the engine seemed to fill the garage as it roared to life.  Then after you closed your door and put on your seat belt, you watched your dad drive off with Noctis as they headed for one of the lower floors.

"So let's see how much you remember from everything that I have shown you so far."  Ignis said as he looked at you with a smile after putting on his seatbelt and getting comfortable in the seat.

You gave him a nervous but determined smile back as you nodded at him.  "Yeah."

Most of the course you did really well with.  Come to find out, that Ignis had actually been showing you how to do everything for the test the entire time that you had been driving with him.  The only one that was tricky was the parallel parking.  But this was because most of the areas that you had had to park in didn't require you to parallel park.  But Ignis had been very patient with you on this part and had had you do it several times.  By time you moved onto the next section, you very comfortable with it and had only minor issues with it, like not being close enough or too close to the curb.  Which, he explained, would get better the more you did it.

Once Ignis had taken you through the different areas, he had you head back to the beginning of the course so that you could run through the entire thing as if you were being tested.  He had you run through it slow at first so that he could get out when needed to see how the car was positioned after you executed the action.  Then the next time, he had you run through it at a normal pace so that you could show that you were ready to do the test.  Lastly he wanted to see how smoothly that you could do the test.  So he placed a cup of water on the dash before you started going through the course.  Then he sat back and gave you a very serious look.

"The gentleman who is going to be testing you is known for having an open cup of coffee with him for all of his tests.  If you can complete the entire test and not spill a single drop, you will pass his test with flying colors."  Ignis said as he searched your face as he saw you get nervous.

"Is that why everyone fails his test?"  You asked as you glanced from the cup to him.

"That would be one of the ways."  Ignis said as he saw that you were still just as determined.  "The other would be not being able to do a lot of the course."

You looked away from Ignis for a moment as you ran your fingers over the steering wheel.  That did explain why everyone would fail the first time.  But not you.  Not after everything that Ignis had done to get you ready for it.  No you had to pass the first time.  You couldn't disappoint Ignis like that.

"Ready?"  You heard him ask as you kept your eyes on the steering wheel.

"Yeah."  You said with a nod as you looked back at Ignis.

After a few minutes, you were pulling the car back up to the beginning again with a slight smile on your face.  You hadn't done the test quite as quick as you had hoped.  But at least you hadn't spilled a single drop of water.  And as you parked the car you could see that Ignis was very happy with you.

"How was that?"  You asked as you slowly looked over at him.

"That was perfect."  Ignis said as he smiled back at you.  "Now if you can do that for the test tomorrow, you will be all set."

You dropped your head as a huge grin spread across your face.  "Thank you Ignis."

"Your very welcome."  He quietly responded.  "Now you can show your dad what you have learned while he's showing how to handle his car."

"Yeah."  You said as you looked back up at him with a huge grin.

Then you leaned over to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.  As you sat back, you saw a curious look on his face as he searched your face.  You slightly smiled back at him as he seemed to be focused on your lips as he half closed his eyes.  Then he reached over and placed a hand on your cheek as he continued to search your face. 

You smiled back as you placed your hand on his.  Then he leaned over to you and gave you a sensual kiss on your lips.  You closed your eyes as you savored his gentleness.  It wasn't the electricity that you had felt with Noctis.  But more of the passionate love that you had grown to long for all of these years.  You couldn't help but want to feel more as your body start to warm up under his familiar touch.

But then just as you were about to deepen the kiss, you were interrupted by the sound of screeching tires, as Noctis' car came flying around the corner.  You both pulled away and looked over and watched as his car drifted across the concrete as it left behind a trail of white smoke and black tire tracks as the tires dug in and left behind several streaks of black rubber on the asphalt.  Then you and Ignis both stared as Noctis flew up to where you were parked and screeched to a perfect stop beside you.  You felt your heart in your throat until you saw your dad's huge smile on his face as he looked over at Noctis.

"Apparently you'll be going a lot faster with your dad then what I just had you doing."  Ignis said as he sat back in his seat.

"Apparently."  You said as you stared at them as they both climbed out of the car with huge grins on their faces.

"But," you started to say as you turned back to Ignis, "faster doesn't mean better."

Ignis slightly smiled at you as he glanced down for a moment before meeting your eyes again.  "No it does not."

Then you jumped when you heard someone knock on your window. 

 "Alright kiddo.  It's your turn."  You heard your dad say in a muffled voice through the window.

"Right."  You said back.  

"I'm coming."  You said then you started to undo your seat belt so that you could get out.

"Thank you again Ignis."  You said once the belt was  off.

"Any time."  He quietly said as he watched you.

"Good luck with Noctis."  You said with a smile as you opened up the door.

"Yeah.  Thanks."  He said as he watched Noctis walk over to the car.

You smiled back at Ignis as he was starting to get very serious again.  Then you leaned back over and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Here's to patience Iggy."  You said as you tried to get him to relax.

"You too."  He said as he returned with a quick kiss as well.  

Then with a smile, you climbed out of the car.  As you got out, Noctis was standing right by the door.  You gave him a nervous smile.  He smiled back and gave you a quick peck on the cheek.

"Have fun with your dad."  He said with a smile as he started to climb in the car.  "He's about to show you a few things that you'll never learn from anyone else."

"Really?"  You asked as you watched him get into the car with a smile.

You waited for a reply.  But all you got was a big grin from him as he closed his door and turned his attention to Ignis.

"Are you ready or what?"  You heard your dad say from the his car.  

"Coming."  You said then walked away as Noctis drove off to the first section of the test.

You couldn't help but to smile as you climbed into the car as you watched them start to go through the same thing that you had just done with Ignis.  Then with the roar of the engine your dad started up the car and pulled away as he headed to the floor below.  Then once you were on the next floor, you noticed the tire tracks that had been left all over the asphalt.  You looked up at your dad in surprise.

"Don't get excited yet."  You dad said as he looked at you.  "You have to learn how to handle a shifter before I can show you had to do any tricks."

"I was hoping that you were going to say that."  You said with a slight smile as you were getting nervous from seeing all of the tire marks.

Then, much to your relief, for the next few minutes he went over the difference between the two cars and how you to keep the car running by keep the clutch in.  And also what happened when you didn't.  Then once you thought that you got it.  He turned off the car and the two of you switched seats.  You felt a bit nervous as you climbed behind the wheel.  You knew how proud of the car that your dad was and the last thing you wanted to mess up it up.

"Alright kiddo."  Your dad said after your were both strapped back in again.  "Let's see if you got it."

"Okay."  You nervously said as you pushed in the clutch all the way.  Then you turned on the car.

"Good."  Your dad said as the car roared back to life.  "Now try moving forward.  But I don't want you to shift gears.  Not yet anyway.  We have to make sure that you can start from a dead stop."

"Okay."  You nervously said as you made sure that the car was in first gear.

But then as you stepped on the gas, you didn't let out the clutch and all the car did was reve.  Your dad gave you a curious look as the car engine roared.  You nervously smiled back as you slowly let out the clutch.  Which jerked the car forward before it died as you quickly lifted off of both the gas and the clutch from the jerking motion.

Your dad gave you a slightly stern look as you sat there panting from the sudden jerk.  You hadn't expected that.  But as you glanced over at your dad, you realized that he apparently did.  Because he just sat there and looked at you.

"Care to try that again?"  He asked as he sat back again.  "Only this time, as your lightly pressing the gas, lift your foot off of the clutch at the sametime and at the same speed.  So as one foot goes down, the other foot is coming up."

"Okay."  You said with a nervous tone.

Then you started the car back up again.  Then you tried to do exactly as he said.  Only this time you moved forward a bit before it died again.  But at least this time the jerk wasn't as bad.  You dad slightly nodded at you and had you try it again.

For the next several minutes your dad had you working on just started from first gear.  You were starting to get it after a bit.  But you had had no idea that it was that difficult to start the car off.  You had watched your dad do it for so many years that you had just thought that it would be a natural thing for you.  Wrong.  But after a few minutes and a few stops as the car almost overheated a few times.  You were starting to catch on to what he had been trying to show you from the beginning.

"So I think you have the gist of it now."  He was saying as you were both sitting on the curb by  the car as it was cooling off again.  "Next I'm going to show you a few things that hopefully you'll never need to do.  But just incase, I want you to be able to escape from someone who is chasing you.  So these next moves are only to be used in the case of an emergency.  At no other time are you do this on these streets.  Got it?"

"Yes sir."  You said in serious voice as you matched his tone.

"They will arrest you if the cops see you."  He was saying as he searched your face.  "But it could also be what you need to attract their attention to a bigger situation behind you.  So if you use it at the right time, it will help them help you."

"Okay."  You said as you shook your head as you could picture the screen in your head.

You had played enough racing games with Noctis and had watched enough action films to know what it might look like.  And you could see how it would attract a lot of attention.  Both good and bad.  You just hoped that you never had to use it in the city.  The last thing you wanted was to wreck.  Or worse yet, kill someone in the process.

First your dad showed you how to pull at sharp 90 degree turn in the car for a quick turn.  Then he showed you how to backup quickly and whip the car around completely so that it was heading the opposite direction.  Then lastly, which ended up being your favorite nerve racking part, he showed you how to drift around corners as a means of a quick corner while escaping.  Your heart was still pounding when you screeched to a stop right beside Noctis car when everything was done.

"That there was the last lesson that I taught your brother."  You dad quietly said as he sat there sadly smiled at you.  "But I can honestly say that you picked up on it quicker then he did."

"You mean to tell me that he knew how to do all of that and he was still killed?"  You said as you gave him a stunned look as you turned off the car.

"Yes."  Paul said as he looked down.  

"For him it wasn't what he didn't know and it sure wasn't his car that was the issue.  They had trapped his car by piercing the car completely through and pinning it to the asphalt.  And they simply had him completely outnumbered.  Even I wouldn't have been able handle that many soldiers."  Paul said as he glanced out the front windshield as he clenched both hands into fists.

Your took in a rugged breath as you once again could see the sword come down through the roof of the royal car after the magitek troop had landed on top of the car that you had been riding in.  You had to close your eyes as you fought to stay calm as you recalled the screeching sound of the metal sword slicing through the metal of the car. You quickly looked up as you fought off the fear that was trying to take over again.  And you took in comfort that you had been with Nyx, Pelna, and Axis during that.  If it hadn't been for them and for your new warping skill that you discovered that you had gotten that night, you would have joined your brother.

You then dropped your head as you thought about the reports that you had seen on the incident.  Korn had had you write a paper on it as a means of showing you what your brother had been up against and what had happened that night.  You didn't understand at first why he died, if he was as well trained as you were now.  But after reading the reports and seeing the evidence, you now knew that there was a very slim chance of survival for him or for anyone who found themselves in that situation.  

As you sat there, you suddenly heard someone shouting.  You quickly got out of the car to see what was going on.  That was when you saw Ignis and Noctis standing outside of the car both facing each other.  You couldn't make out what they were saying, but you could tell by their posture that they were both very upset.  Then you stood in shock as you watched Ignis climb into the driver's' seat of the car and slam the door.  

"Iggy!"  You heard Noctis shout at the car as he started walking up to door.

But before he got there, you saw Ignis quickly pull away from him as he drove away.  You were frozen in place as you watched something that you never thought that you would see.  You could hardly breath as it was as all you could do was take a raspy breath as you watched Ignis drive away from Noctis as he headed for the exit.

"IGNIS!"  You heard Noctis shout at the top of his lungs.  "I'M SORRY!"

You felt your heart stop at the words.  Did he tell him?

Then as you watched Ignis drive out of the parking garage, you felt your heart shatter.  For you knew by Ignis not even looking at you as he left, that he had found out.  You felt your whole world get turned upside down as the car disappeared around the corner.  For you knew then that you had just hurt Ignis and may have lost him completely.

As you heard the last sounds of the car disappear in the distance, you couldn't help the tears as they threatened to fall.  You glanced over at Noctis as he stood there.  Then he looked over at you with concern in his eyes as he fought to control his own emotions.  But neither of you said a word as you looked at each other.  For you already knew what had happened, just based on Ignis' reaction.

What the hell?  I thought we had decided not to tell him was happen?  But now Ignis knows.  Fuck!  We just hurt the one person who had kept us together.  And now he is upset and I have no idea how to make it up to him.  You thought as tears started pouring from your eyes as looked over and Noctis.

I  can't lose him.  I have to go talk to him.  You thought as you stood there shaking.

Then you quickly got back into the car and started it up.  Your dad was surprised, but then quickly got back in.  Your dad had just barely gotten the door closed as you went tearing out of the parking lot as you headed for Ignis.  You had to talk to him.  You didn't want to lose him.  Not after everything.  Not even for Noctis.

"Whoa kiddo, just what do you think your doing?"  Your dad asked as he quickly clipped his seat belt as you headed for the exit.

You tried to talk to your dad.  But you couldn't as you drifted out into the entrance way for the parking garage.  Your dad had to tightly grip the seat and door as the car peeled out as it slid across the asphalt before gripping again and launching the car towards the gate.  Luckily the guards saw the quickly approached car and recognized it as Paul's car.  For he then quickly opened it up for you.

"Where are you going?"  Your dad asked in a firmer tone as you pulled a quick 90 degree turn on the city street as you headed for Ignis' house.

 "I have to talk to Ignis."  You choked out as soon as you got the car steady as you flew to the condo.

"About what?"  He quickly asked as he tried to calm down as he watched you gently glide the car in and out of traffic as you quickly made you way through the traffic.

 "It's personal dad."  You quickly said as you passed another car.

"Personal or not, you are treading on thin ice right now young lady.  Slow down and talk to me before you get us pulled over."  He said in a firm voice that told you that he was starting to get upset with your behavior.

"I'm sorry dad."  You said as you brought the car back under control as you continued on your way.  "I just have to talk to him."

"I got that part."  He said as he started to calm back down himself.  "But what is so urgent that you have to see him in person and not talk to him over the phone?"

You slightly dropped your eyes as you came to a stop at the stop light.  "I cheated on Ignis dad."

"What?  But how?"  You dad asked as he gave you a puzzled look.  "I haven't even so much as seen you even look at anyone else."

You dropped your head lower.  "It was last night.  I kissed Noctis in the kitchen."

"What?"  He said in shock.  "Really?  But how...."

"It was a accident.  I think."  You said as you looked at the steering wheel.  "I was just trying to get the apple that Noctis had been tossing in the air when it happened.  I didn't intent to kiss him.  We just.........did."

"And you think that Ignis must have just found out."  Your dad said as he watched you start to move the car again as the light turned green.

"Why else would he fly off like that?"  You asked as kept your eyes on the road as you saw the condo building quickly approaching .

"But what are you going to tell him?"  He asked as he watched you turn the corner so that you could head to the condo's parking garage.

"The truth."  You quietly said as you turned into the garage.  "And that I'm sorry."

You felt your heart drop as you saw the royal car parked and no one near it. He was back already.  Then you saw him standing outside the elevator.  You quickly sped up and slid to a stop in front of the elevators.  Then you quickly climbed out and started running up to him.

"IGNIS..."  You called to him.

But all he did was give you a stern look as he climbed into the elevator.  You picked up your pace.  But right as you reached the elevator, the door closed right in front of you.

"IGNIS!  PLEASE!?  Let me explain....."  You yelled before you started banging on the closed doors.

"He's already headed up."  You heard your dad say as he came up behind you.

You quickly rounded on your dad.  "Where's the card?"

"What card?"  He asked as he gave you a curious look.

"You know what card dad."  You said sternly as you reached around him and tried to grab his wallet.

He quickly grabbed your wrist before you even touched it.  "Let him be for now."

"But.....?"  You half pleaded with him as you felt your whole body start to fall apart as you looked at him in almost a panic.

"Give him time to cool off."  Your dad said in calm voice.  "You will both say something that you might regret if you try to talk to him right now."

"But dad.........I.....I have to talk to him.........I can't leave it like this."  You choked out as you felt your entire body start to shake.

"Later."  He calmly said back.  "Right now you both need time to calm down and think before you talk."

Your dad then pulled you close to him and held you tight as he tried to calm you down.  You felt your heart shatter and your body collapse as the thought of never being able to talk to Ignis slapped you across the face.  You could feel the pain run through your entire body as you stood there shaking as the tears took over.  You wanted to talk to him, but you had a feeling that your dad was right.  All you could do was pray that he would call you later or stop by so that you could talk.

Okay, so this was a very difficult chapter to figure out.  I was going back and forth between him finding out now or later.  But it would seem more than likely that Ignis would figure it out rather quickly considering how he is.  

And now the question is, will he forgive them?  Or will he forever push you away.  Time will tell on this one.  So be sure to keep an eye out for the next chapter as we try to answer that question and will hopefully bring these two back together.
