Chapter 5 - Old Friends Reunite
YOU weren't sure what was worse. The fact that you had a major throbbing headache, or the knowledge that you had been at the hospital for about four hours already. From the moment that you had arrived, they had you going through several tests to determine the severity of your concussion. Then after waiting, for what seemed like hours, the final decision was made that you would only have to stay overnight at the hospital for observation.
This was more of a push from your parents then from the doctors though. For all you wanted to do was sleep in your own bed so that your head would stop hurting. But after they saw a small skull fracture from where you hit the concrete, they had decided that they didn't want to take any chances at home and had pushed to have you stay overnight.
This left you by yourself for a while since your parents had stepped out to get your overnight items and a bite to eat. You had already eaten, if you want to call hospital food, food that is. Which is what left you laying down on the hospital bed with only the bedside light on the other side of the room on.
The low lighting was so that the bright lights wouldn't stimulate your eyes any more than necessary. For the moment you were only wearing a hospital gown while you waited for your parents to return with your pajamas. Your school uniform clothes were folded up neatly on the chair by the window with your backpack leaning against the wall by the chair.
This has officially been one of the worst days of my life. You thought to yourself as you further curled up in a ball under the covers.
I'll never be able to show my face in school again. Looks like I'll be an outcast for the next three years. You thought as you lowered your gaze to stare at the cold tiled floor of your hospital room.
So much for a new start at a new school. It looks like I'm just destined to be a loner. You thought as tears started to rise up in your eyes again.
Your thoughts were interrupted though by a soft knock on the door.
What now? You thought as you cringed with uncertainty to the next impeded blow from the dark cloud that seemed to be following you.
"(y/n)?" Came a soft familiar voice from the door.
Your eyes opened up wide in disbelief and your head started spinning.
Is that who I think that is? You thought as your heart started to race.
No, it can't be. You thought as you very slightly shook your head and closed your eyes again. I must have cracked my head harder than I thought. Now I'm hearing things.
"(y/n)? Are you awake?" The voice came again and this time the door slightly opened up. "It's me, Noctis. Can I come in?"
"That's not funny Gwendolyn. " You almost shouted.
"Haven't you done enough already?" You said then groaned and gritted your teeth as your head started throbbing again.
You pulled the covers over your head in an attempt to shut out the pain. Noctis paused as he felt his heart drop at the tone of your voice.
Well she's awake at least. He thought to himself as he tried to steady himself. Well, I've come this far. I have to go in. I have to tell her the truth.
After a slight pause at the door, and a few deep breaths, he opened the door the rest of the way and entered the room.
"That's not very nice of you to say." He said in his regular voice as he slowly entered the room. "You might give the impression that you're angry with someone."
As he entered the room, he glanced around. The room had a wall on the right and two beds next to each other on the left side of the room. But only the one was occupied, and that was by you. The curtain was slightly drawn around yours in an attempt to darken the room more for you. As he walked over, he slightly pulled the curtain open so that he could better see you without getting closer then he figured that you were comfortable with. After all, he still wasn't even sure if you even wanted to see him or not at this point. But he wanted to make sure that you were ok.
You laid there for a few minutes as you heard him walk in and towards your bed. Then you slowly pushed yourself up into a sitting position. You stared at him for a few minutes as if you were looking at a ghost. He stood there in his usual black t-shirt, black cargo shorts, and black leather jacket.
His face was slimmer then you last remembered and he was taller as he stood there with one hand on the curtain and the other in the side pocket of his shorts. His jet black hair was still laying in all different directions, but was now down to his shoulders. You couldn't see the deep blue in his eyes since the room was dark, but you knew it was there.
"Noctis?" You said almost in a whisper.
Then you looked down and away from his gaze as you straighten the covers around you on the bed.
"What, what are you doing here?" You stammered as you tried to hold back the tears and embarrassment of being seen like this.
You had never wanted him to see you when you were weak and vulnerable. Both of which you were at the moment. This both embarrassed you and angered you. Why now of all times had he decided to see you? Why now when you couldn't do anything? Where had he been before when all you wanted was to just see him and talk? Why hadn't he even bothered to try and talk to you last year? All of these questions and more started to race through you head.
Noctis watched you as you nervously straighten out the bed. He had never seen you so out of sorts. From the hospital gown that barely covered your slim body to your (h/c) hair as it was frizzing out in the back from laying down in the bed. As he watched he couldn't believe how much that you had changed since he last saw you. The pig tails had been replaced with a long ponytail. Your face was slimmer and was starting to show a more grown up appearance. Even your body was starting to show some of the changes. He could just make out the top of your breasts under the gown. He quickly looked away when he realized that he was starting to stare.
"Ignis told me what happened at the school today." Noctis said as he dropped his gaze in an attempt to break his attention. "So I just wanted to stop by and.."
"And what?" You interrupted as you could feel you anger start to win the battle over the embarrassment and excitement that you were feeling.
"See me when I'm hurt? Now you want to see me? Is that what it takes to get your attention? Or is it only when no one is looking that you finally want to talk to me? Are you embarrassed to be seen with a commoner like me? Which is it Noct?" You almost shouted as you felt the pain starting to rise, as well as your temper.
"Wouldn't you rather be hanging out with your rich friends? You seemed to be really close to them last year." You stated as your voice started to crack as tears started to form in your eyes.
"No. That's not it." He stated as he felt his heart rate starting to rise as well as his own temper.
"Look I just wanted to make sure that you were okay." He almost shouted back as his hands started to shake.
"Well I'm fine." You tried to say without reacting to the pain as it was intensifying.
But the words came out strained as you clinched your teeth.
"Clearly you aren't." He softly said as he watched you gritted your teeth as you prayed that the pain would subside.
"And why would you care?" You said as you dropped your head so that he couldn't see the pain starting to overcome you again.
"You didn't seem to care at all after school started last year. But of course why would you, when you could just hang out with the popular kids? Who would want to be friends with a reject anyway? Right?" You said as you glared in his direction.
You couldn't quite make out his face anymore since your vision was getting a bit blurry from the tears as they started to grow.
"Now that's not fair." He tried to argue back, not really realizing the can of worms that he just opened up.
"Fair! How dare you talk about being fair!" You started to shout.
But you had to stop because you head was throbbing so hard that you couldn't see. You let out a loud groan as you dropped your head. You stayed with your head down for few minutes while you waited for the pain to die down some.
Noctis stood there clutching his fists out of anger and frustration.
Damn it! He thought out of frustration. If only she would stop so that I could explain. I hate seeing her in pain, especially because of me.
He dropped his gaze and stared at the floor tiles as he tried to calm himself down.
I don't want to fight with her. I know she has every right to be angry with me. I know that I would be, if it was me. He thought to himself as he felt his temper starting to die down, only to be replaced with guilt.
"Why now?" You asked at almost a whisper, after the pain subsided enough for you to start to see again.
"Why now all of a sudden did you come to see me?" You asked as you wiped away some of the tears that had been caused by the pain.
Noctis stood there for a minute as he tried to come up with an answer that wouldn't throw you over the top again.
"I came cause I wanted to make sure that you are alright." He said in a calm quiet voice as he slowly raised his eyes towards you. "I hate the idea that someone has hurt you. So, I came to see if I could help you."
"I want to believe you." You said in a low voice as you dropped your head. "But the fact still remains that none of you so much as talked to me last year."
"Not once. did any of you even bother to come to my aid. All year I was being laughed at, picked on and pushed around. But not once did you come to stop it. You all acted like I didn't even exist!" You started out softy, only to finish with you shouting at him.
Then you had to tightly close your eyes as the shear pain spiked as it was taking over again. You hissed and gritted your teeth as you dropped your head down again. But this time Noctis quickly moved over to you and wrapped his arms around you as he pulled you into his embrace. He held you tightly as he hoped that it might help to relieve some of the pain.
"I know and I'm sorry." He quietly said as he sat on the edge of the bed so that he could better support you as you leaned up against him.
He started rubbing your back as he put your head up against his chest. You could feel his heart racing while he tried to calm you down.
"I wanted to help. I hated not being able to do anything but watch." He said as he pulled you closer to him as if he was afraid that you might disappear.
You could feel his firm chest and his strong arms as he held you tight. You hadn't quite realized how much bigger he had gotten until then. He was only slightly taller than you by maybe an inch. But his arms and body had seemed to have gotten a lot stronger. You could feel the solidness of him as he embraced you. The soothing touch of his hands on your back left your skin tingling. You never realized how thin hospital gowns were until then.
"I had no control over what happened last year." He quietly said.
"Nor do I have any real way of making it up to you." He said as he slightly squeezed.
"All I can do is ask for you to forgive me." You could hear his voice slightly shake.
"I never meant to hurt you." He said as you could feel him slightly tremble.
Your mind started to whirl around as his words started to sink in.
"What do you mean you had no control?" You quietly asked.
He's the prince, could it really be that hard? They can't possibly make it to where he doesn't have any say in what and who he gets to talk to? Could they? You thought for the first time.
"Well you see it all started with an unexpected visit from Gladio's sister." He started to explain as he continued to rub you back.
"She had apparently come to the citadel to see me. But while she was there, she got lost outside the Citadel grounds. She said that she had seen a cat in the garden and had decided to follow it. Well the cat led her down the way that we had been using to leave the compound.
"When I saw her in the interior garden, I had decided to follow her. But when I reached the park, I lost track of her and ended up walking around for a bit until I heard her. Of course, by time I found her again, it was really dark and had started to rain. She had gotten upset saying the Gladio would be mad at her, which he was.
"So I took the blame for her so that he wouldn't be upset with her and so she didn't get in trouble for wandering off. As a result, my father grounded me. Then somehow he found out how I had been getting out. So, he had all of the entrances inspected and all of the locks replaced.
"He even brought on more guards to ensure that no one else could get into, or out of the Citadel who shouldn't be there to begin with. All of this happened just before school started. Which is why I haven't been able to get to the park anymore. Ever since they found our route, they locked it up tight." He finished as he squeezed you tighter in his grasp.
"So you were... trapped?" You asked as you lifted your head up from against his chest.
You looked him in the eyes and could see the regret that he was feeling within those deep sapphire eyes of his.
"Yeah." He said as he lowered his eyes and head.
"Then to make matters worse, some of the neighboring countries have had some of their officials threaten by Niflheim. So my dad thought that it would be best that I attend a public school so that I could blend in with the general public. But that had proven to be difficult since there had to be a glaive with me at all times. I couldn't go anywhere without one of them following me.
"He has since eased up a bit for this year though, since it made me stand out more. But he'll still has security pretty tight around the school of course. But that's why I couldn't talk to you at school. I couldn't get away from them for anything. Trust me I tried. But you can't lose Cor the 'Immortal'." He said as he raised his eyes to meet yours again as if pleading with you to forgive him.
You could see the hurt and regret in his eyes. You never would have expected to see him like this. With him gazing at you like that, you had a hard time picturing him as a prince. And not just any prince, but thee Prince of Lucis.
"So why didn't you ever mention that you were the Prince of Lucis?" You calmly asked.
"Honestly?" He asked with a slight smile.
"Honestly." You confirmed. "Please."
He signed as he released his grip on you but still remained seated on the bed.
"I don't know why I didn't mention it at first. Perhaps it was that we had become friends so fast that I was afraid that you would turn on me. And I didn't want anything to mess up what we had going." He said as he rubbed the back of his head with his hand.
Then he dropped his gaze as he lowered his hand and gently grabbed both of your hands in his.
"That, and the fact that it felt great to be able to spend time with someone who actually wanted to spend time with me. It made me feel like I was just like everyone else and that I could play just like other kids." He said as he slowly rubbed the soft skin on the top of your hands as if lost in thought.
"You see, royalty doesn't usually get the luxury of making friends with people who are genuinely as nice as you. Usually people are just trying to be my friend so that they can get closer to the throne in hopes that one day the power would be theirs. Or their parents are rich and the parents are just trying to further their fortune by becoming friends with the royal family." He said as he continued to rub the back of your hands with his thumbs. His hands tingled as he admiring how soft that they felt.
"All of those kids last year fell into those categories. None of them actually cared about me. But you did, and hopefully still do. In fact you have more than proven to me that you are different than any of them in every way." Noctis stated as he raised his eyes up so that he could look you in the eyes.
"Not once have you ever treated me different. And you never seemed to be after anything other than my company, just so that we could spend time together. The fact is, you gave me the best summer of my life. I was excited to see you everyday and just hang out with you. Which is why it's so hard to figure out how I can make it up to you for what you had gone through last year. And I've been afraid that you will never forgive me." He said as he dropped his gaze and you could see him slightly shudder.
"But either way that you feel about me. I would still like to know if there is anything that I can do to make you feel better?" He said as he returned his gaze to you as tears started to form in his eyes.
Seeing his tears caused your own eyes to start to tear up, as you realized how sincere he was and how much he was hurting because of the events that had lead up to this moment.
"I am now.," You said as you smiled and wrapped your arms tightly around his neck.
Then the tears started to pour from your eyes. It was as if all of the pain from last year all came to a head as you cried on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms tightly around your waist and embraced you against him. You felt him tighten his grip on you as you felt him shaking as well. It was as if he was releasing his pain as well. You both sit there holding each other like no one else in the world mattered.
"I'm so sorry (y/n). I never wanted to hurt you. And I never intended any of this to happen. If I could change any of it, I would. I never wanted to hurt you in anyway." Noctis shakingly said after several long minutes.
"Do you think that you'll ever forgive me?" He asked as he slightly pulled away so that he could look into your eyes.
You could see him searching your face as if he was afraid of the answer. You looked back at him and could still see the pain in his eyes. You took your hands and gently wiped away the tears that were on his face.
"I'll forgive you." You said as your own voice was shaking.
"But only under one condition." You said as you dropped your hands and grasped his while you looked him in the eye.
He gave you a slightly relieved look.
"Anything." He said with a smile. "Just name it."
"Don't leave me in dark again." You said as you gently squeezed his hands. "Friends don't keep secrets from friends. Now I understand that sometimes things happen that are out of our control. But all I'm asking is that for you just let me know what is going on. Okay? I will understand, no matter what the situation. I will always be there for you. Just as long as I get my friend back."
Noctis gave you a huge smile and pulled you back into his embrace again.
"I'm back, and I will never leave you out of anything again." He said with his face buried in your hair.
"I promise you that." He said as he gave you a soft kiss on your cheek.
You could feel your face heat up and your heart race from his soft lips. You skin seemed to be on fire where his lips were. Your eyes shot wide open at first before they closed as you became engulfed in his touch. You both sat there embraced each other for a few minutes before you heard a soft knock on the door as it opened up again.
"Your highness?" Came a smooth accented voice.
Your heart started to race even faster as you recognized Ignis' voice. "Is everything ok?"
"Yeah Iggy." Noctis said as he pulled and wiped away the remaining tears from his eyes with his hands.
"You guys can come in." Noctis said as he released you and stood up beside you and turned to face the door.
You gave Noctis a surprised look as he smiled back at you before turning his attention towards the door as Ignis and Gladiolus walked into the room. You sat there in shock as they both walked in still wearing their school uniforms. They each came in with a smile and were each carrying a gift in their hands. Gladiolus came up first and handed you a 'Get Well Soon' bear.
Then Gladio wrapped his arms around you as he gave you a huge bear hug. You felt like he was going to crush you with the muscles that he had gotten over the last year. You knew he was strong. But nothing could have prepared you for the new found strength of his hugs.
"Hey princess." He said as he embraced you. "How are you feeling?"
"My head still hurts. But at least it is only a very mild concussion. The doctor said that I should be grateful that it wasn't worse. He told us it's only small hairline fracture and it should be fine in a few days." You stated as you returned his hug, even though it wasn't anywhere near as strong as his was to you. "This means that I should only have to stay here overnight."
"That's one good thing." He said as he released you. "Another thing is that Gwendolyn will won't be bother you again."
"What do you mean?" You asked as you stared at him. "Did something else happen after I left?"
"You might say that." Gladio said with a smile. "But for now let's just say that Gwendolyn now think twice before she messes with you again. In fact, I think the whole school will now." He stated as he released you and stood back up.
"Oh no." You responded in almost a whisper with your eyes wide and your jaw dropped. "What did you do?"
"Oh. It's not what I did." He smirked.
"It's what Iggy did." He smiled as he nodded towards Ignis.
You looked over at Ignis in shock and fear as to what could have possible happened.
"What happened Ignis?" You asked with fear of what the backlash was going to be when you returned. "What did you do?"
"Now isn't the time to explain." Ignis stated as he slowly walked up to you as he held a small bouquet of flowers in his hands. "Perhaps later, once your recovered."
Your heart skipped a beat as you saw that he had gotten you your favorite flowers. You looked into his emerald eyes as he walked towards you.
Does he know that those are my favorite flowers? You thought to yourself. No he wouldn't know. I haven't told any of them, but then again..........
"Right now our main concern is helping you feel better." He said as he handed you the flowers before he sat down on the edge of the bed.
He watched you as your eyes shined when you looked at the flowers that he had gotten for you. But he wasn't sure if you were reacting to the flowers that he was giving you or to him as he gave them to you. But he did take note of how you seemed to like them a lot.
You looked up at him and smiled. You had never been given flowers by anyone other than your mom and dad. And even then, it was usually just for your birthday. Your heart raced as you took the flowers and a deep breath of their beautiful fragrance.
Ignis smiled as he watched as you seemed to be lost in the scent for just a moment as he smiled to himself. That was a reaction that he hadn't expected.
"I hate to ask this after the kind of day that you have had today." Ignis said as he straightened his glasses." But would you mind telling us what exactly happened to you today in school?"
"Which part?" You asked as you looked at him.
"This day was full of all kinds of fun." You answered sarcastically as you dropped your gaze.
"If you could start from when you first arrived at the school, it would be most helpful." Ignis stated as he watched you intently.
You took a deep breath and lowered your head. Then you told them everything that had happened. As you spoke, it felt like you were reliving every moment as you talked about them. Those were memories that you wished that you could forget. The worst part was that you could still feel the macaroni and cheese as it was being squished into you face.
You told them exactly what happened that led up you passing out in the bathroom. Minus the crying on the door part. You glanced around at them when you were done. You could see the anger in the eyes of your three friends as you finished the story.
Ignis then gently placed his hand on your chin and lifted it up and moved it from side to side so that he could look at you in the eyes and at your face. Your heart started to race as he gazed in your eyes and looked over your face.
He couldn't see anything physically out of the ordinary with your face. But he could see that there seemed to be something different with your eyes then when you were close to Gladiolus. But he wasn't sure what it was.
"I'm glad to see that she didn't cause any harm to your face." Ignis said as he removed his hand from your face.
"That does however confirm what I had seen earlier today though." Ignis stated as he looked down at his hands and clutched them into fists on his lap.
"I'm sorry that I wasn't there to stop it from happening." He said in a hushed voice.
"It's not your fault Ignis." You tried to reassure him as you reached over and gripped his hands tightly.
"I have a feeling that it would have happened either way. She seems like the jealous type when it comes to a certain person." You said as you felt your heart slightly drop as you remembered how upset she was that you had even been near Ignis.
"Yeah she does tend to be like that sometimes." He said quietly without looking up.
So he knows who I mean. You thought to yourself.
I wonder if that means that he has feelings for her. You thought for a moment as you felt your heart slightly drop.
This thought bothered you, but you weren't completely sure why. Everyone sat there for a few minutes in silence, each one lost in their own thoughts for a moment. But before anyone could say anything the door to your room opened up again.
"Ok honey. I think we got everything that you asked for." You heard your dad say as he came in carrying your favorite pillow and blanket, while pulling a small suitcase behind him.
He turned around to face you once he had set everything down on the chair. But then he froze in his tracks as he saw the three visitors by your bed. He looked over each person as if contemplating whether he should flip out or pass out.
"We didn't forget anything did we honey?" You mom asked as she entered the room while rummaging through her purse for something.
Then she saw your dad just standing there, and then turned herself to see what was going on.
Oh.......my......six. You thought to yourself as your heart started to race.
My parents are here. I hope they don't flip out. Please don't let them flip out. I mean they only said that boys can't be in my bedroom. But do hospital rooms count? You thought as you could feel the start of a panic attack coming on.
Ignis looked at you as your face turned white. He lightly squeezed your hands to get your attention again and then just smiled at you. You looked at him with your mouth open as if you were afraid to say something.
"Well I suppose we should be getting home." Ignis said as he got up from the bed.
"It is getting rather late." He said as he turned to Noctis.
"I suppose your right." Noctis replied.
"Mr. (l/n), Mrs. (l/n)." Noctis said as he addressed your parents. "We just wanted to stop by and make sure that (y/n) was ok. I hope you don't mind?"
"No, no not at all, your highness." Your dad stammered as he bowed to him with his right hand across his chest in a nervous manner. Your mom nervously followed suit. "We're grateful that you paid her a visit."
Well there is no doubt that they know who he is. You thought as you nervously smiled to yourself as you watched your parents.
It was going to take all of you awhile to get use to addressing Noctis correctly.
"Thank you." Noctis nodded at them with a smile.
"Yes. Thank you indeed." Came a calm commanding voice from the door as King Regis entered the room.
The whole room went quiet and watched as the king entered the room. Gladiolus and Ignis both turned and bowed smartly towards the King.
"Your Majesty." They both replied towards King Regis. Noctis did the same, just not as pronounced.
"Thank you for allowing my son a visit with your daughter." He said as he stopped just in front of your parents and within eye shot of the group.
"He had heard about what had happened at school. This made him quite worried about her you see. So I insisted that the school released the name of the hospital that you were at so that we could stop by and pay a visit. I hope you don't mind?" King Regis asked your parents.
You noticed that his voice wasn't one of a demanding ruler. But more like a concerned parent. His words were genuine and his posture was relaxed. Despite the fact that he wore his royal attire of a black pin-striped suit, black shirt, and black and white striped tie. This was all finished off with his black leather shoes and gloves.
"No. Not at all your Majesty." You dad answered nervously as he bowed again at him.
"We are humbled that you stopped by for a visit." Your dad said as if in awe.
"And we're so grateful for your concern." Your mother chimed in as she bowed again herself.
"Thank you again." King Regis said to your parents before turning his attention towards you.
You sat frozen to your bed. Here you were in nothing but a hospital gown with the King Regis, Prince Noctis, and the others surrounding you. You suddenly felt like you weren't wearing anything at all.
I'm so underdressed for this. You thought in horror as you could feel your cheeks heating up as your face started to turn red.
This was not how you wanted to meet the King. King Regis looked at you with a friendly glow in his eyes and a gentle smile on his face. The calmness of him helped you to relax. It was as if you were looking at your dad, instead of the King of Lucis.
"So how are you feeling young lady?" He asked as he walked towards you and had a seat on the edge of the bed.
"My head still hurts. But I'll be alright soon enough." You said nervously as you gently touched the back of your head with your hand as you looked towards the ground.
Never in a million years had you ever imagined the King would be asking you if you were alright. You weren't quite sure how to react. So you dropped your hands to your lap and stared at your hands as you nervously wrung your hands together.
"I'm glad to hear it." He said as he placed his hand on yours in a effort to try and comfort you. "Noctis was very concerned for you. You must be a really good friend for him to worry like that."
You dropped your head as you felt embarrassed about yelled at him earlier.
He was worried about me. You thought as you took a short breath as you tried to keep the tears back.
"I'll tell you what." King Regis began. "How would you feel about coming to visit us at the Citadel once you are feeling better? I know that Noctis wouldn't mind having a guest over."
His last words made you look up and stare at the King.
Did I just hear him right? You thought as you glanced over at Noctis who smiled back at you in return.
For once, you were at a loss for words. Since it all seemed to be surreal.
"What do you say (y/n)? Do you want to stop by for a visit once you get out of this place?" Noctis asked with a smile.
"I can assure you the food taste a lot better there." Ignis ensured.
"And the rooms are a lot more spacious." Gladiolus said with a smile.
You weren't sure how to answer. So you looked at your parents, who also seemed to be at a loss for words.
"Your parents can come as well of course." The king added as he smiled at your parents. "I would be delighted to show them around the Citadel."
They smiled back at you and nodded.
You smiled at them then turned to the King. "It sounds wonderful your Majesty. We would love to come."
"It's settled then. I'll send a car for you and your family as soon as your better." He said as he gave your hand a squeeze.
"Just give Noctis a call when your out and settled back at home." And with that he stood up and placed a hand on Noctis' shoulder.
"I'll see you at home. Don't be too long" He told Noctis. "You do still have your studies and practice."
"Yeah yeah." Noctis smiled back to his dad. "We'll be along shortly."
"You see that you are." The king smiled as he patted his son on the shoulder.
"Ignis, Gladiolus, see that he keeps his word will you?" The King asked towards Noctis' brothers.
"As you wish your Majesty." Ignis replied.
"Do worry. We get him home soon." Gladio replied.
"I bid you all a good night." The King said as he walked out of the room.
And with that he was gone.
"Good evening your majesty." The group returned as they bowed towards the king.
"Well, shall we get going ourselves?" Ignis asked Gladio and Noct as they straighten back up.
"Yeah." Noct said to Ignis. "(y/n). Let me see your phone really quick."
"Oh. Sure." You said as you grabbed it from the night stand.
"Here." You said as you handed him your phone.
You watched as he put his number in your phone before handing it back to you.
"Call me as soon as you find out when your leaving. You got that?" He said as he handed your phone back.
"Don't worry I will." You said with a smile as you grabbed your phone back. "Your highness."
"Quit it." He joked back. "We are well beyond the formalities already." Your parents looked intently as him.
"But not that beyond Noct." Ignis said when he saw your parents reaction. "(y/n)? Do you mind if I stop by later to check on you?"
"Not at all." You smiled back. "I would love the company."
"Good. I'll bring back the work for the classes that you missed today." He said straighten his glasses and started following Noct to the door.
"Thank you Ignis." You smiled back.
