Chapter 25 - First day at High School

******Spoiler Alert - Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV - Episode 2: Dogged Runner"******

This is by far one of my favorite episodes from the brotherhood series that came out before the game was released. I highly recommend watching this on YouTube (https://youtu.be/cji-L0hu1Io) before reading this chapter. The ending of this chapter contains scenes from this episode as our fun loving new blonde haired friend comes into the story.

I do not own any of the rights for the Brotherhood series. I have added part of it for character reference only. All rights of the series belong to Square Enix.

I also do not know any right to the movie Elecktra. The movie has been indirectly referenced for character building only. No Copyright infringement is intended.

Enjoy! :)

You slowly opened up your eyes and looked around. Your heart leaped when you realized that you had fallen asleep in Ignis' bedroom. You hadn't meant to fall asleep like that. But as you looked around that was when you realized that you must have been out for awhile. For you saw that it was much darker in the room then when you first got there. It made you wonder just how long you had been out.

Suddenly you felt someone shift behind you. Followed by an arm coming over you as it wrapped around you. Then it pulled you closer to the person behind you, before they settled back down with you up against their solid frame. You slowly turned your head and saw the sleeping face of Ignis.

He was curled up with you as he had his arm over the covers as he had it wrapped around you and held you close. You smiled to yourself as you looked at his peaceful face as he laid right by your head. You quietly watched for a few moments as you heard his calm and smooth breathing as he quietly slept beside you. It looked like he had decided to join after all.

You turned back around and started to get comfortable again, when suddenly you realized that you had to pee. And like really pee. You rolled your eyes at your body's horrible timing. You didn't want to move right now. You wanted to stay wrapped up in his arms and sleep the afternoon away. So you closed your eyes again and tried to fall back to sleep as you tried to ignore it. But your body refused to let you rest as you were soon starting to squirm.

Damn it. You though as you could feel that you were on the verge of your bladder overflowing.

You opened up your eyes and quickly started scanning the room for your shirt that you knew had been on the floor before you passed out. But as you scanned the floor, you noticed that there wasn't anything on the floor. That was when you noticed that your bag was on the chase lounge chair and it looked to be full. Had he washed your clothes after all? Just how long had you been out?

But then just as you are trying to make sense of it, your body reminded you of what you were suppose to be doing. You quickly glanced back at Ignis. You hated to disturb him. Especially now, since it looked like he had been busy while you had been sleeping. Well that, and the last thing you wanted was to interrupt his nap.

You carefully grabbed his wrist and started to move it out of the way so that you could slip out without disturbing him too much. But as you moved his arm, he tightened it up and brought it back down to you and held you closer as he tightened up his grip. You smiled as you sighed. It was sweet that he didn't want to let you go. And normally you wouldn't even think about moving. But your body was now starting to scream at you that you really needed to get moving to the bathroom.

You shifted in the bed so that you were laying flat on your back. You glanced over at him and gave him a quick kiss on the lips before you started to slid out of the bed. First you slid your feet out, then your legs, followed by your hips, and lastly you slid under his arm as you slid your butt down to the ground so that you could get out of the bed without disturbing him.

Once you were out, you tiptoed over to your bag. You glanced in and saw that he had indeed put your clothes back into your bag for you. You reached in and grabbed your underwear and your t-shirt. But as you did, you noticed that it had a clean smell to it.

You paused as you brought the shirt to your face and breathed in the sweet scent that you had smelled on his clothes hundreds of times. You closed your eyes and smiled. Then you opening them back up as you dropped it from your face as you looked at it. He had washed your clothes like he said he would. You were really going to have to figure out how to make it up to him now.

But as you stood there thinking about it, your body reminded you, yet again, that you needed to take care of something else first. You then quickly put on your underwear and t-shirt. Then you tiptoed to the door and quietly opened it up and stepped out. Once you were out of the room, you pulled the door closed before running down the hallway and quickly entered the bathroom. Right after closing the door you quickly sat down on the commode and sighed with great relief that you had made it just in time.

Once you were done. You stood in front of the sink smiling as you washed your hands. You then glanced around the room and could once again feel the heat that he had brought out of you in that very room, only a short time ago. You smiled again as you also noticed that once again, everything had been cleaned up. Towels had been washed and returned to the shelf. And everything else was back where it started.

He truly is a neat freak isn't he? You though as you smiled while looking around the room. Well, there are worse things that he could be I suppose. And besides that, I like everything clean myself.

You smiled to yourself then headed out of the room after hanging back up the hand towel. You did one last glance at the room before you turned the light off and headed back down to his bedroom. You could feel your heart racing again as you remembered the passion that you had gotten from him. You had never expected it to be like that with him. He was passionate and tender, but then again he had a bit of fire in him when pushed far enough. You smiled broadly as you realized that you loved every one of those when they came from him.

You quietly opened back up the door to the bedroom and peeked inside and saw that it didn't look like he had moved a muscle. You smiled to yourself as you snuck back into the room and quietly closed the door behind yourself. You then prayed that you could sneak back into the bed without him realizing that you had even left. So you tiptoed back over to the bed and slowly lifted up the covers as you started to slip back under the sheets.

"Everything alright?" You heard a smooth voice ask from the bed before you even got one foot into the bed.

"Yes." You quietly said as you stood there holding up the covers. "I just needed to use the bathroom."

"You know that you didn't have to sneak out like that. You could have just let me know." Ignis said as he pushed himself up with one arm.

You stood still and looked up and saw Ignis looking at you with a smile on his face.

"I didn't want to wake you up." You quietly said as you looked at him with embarrassment.

Of course you hadn't expected him to be awake when you got back either.

"That, my dear, is inevitable. No one moves in this place without me knowing about it." He said with a smile as he started to heat up again as he stared at you as you stood there in only your t-shirt and underwear.

"It's part of my training that I have to have that constant awareness. You'll see what I mean later on when you start it yourself." He said as he cocked his head to one side. "Now, are you going to get back in or not?"

You shyly smiled as you slowly slipped back under the covers. He gracefully helped cover you back up as you settled back down on the bed with your back to him as you laid on your side. Once you were comfortable, he reached his arm back around your waist, but under the covers this time, and he pulled you close to him again. You sighed as you curled up to him as you felt his strong frame holding you close. Then you smiled as you felt him give you a tender kiss on your shoulder and within moments you were fast asleep, yet again.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

You slowly opened your eyes as you looked around to see where that alarm was coming from. You then felt a shift in the bed behind you. Then you saw an arm come over you and hit the snooze button on his phone. But as he tried to pull his arm back, you reached up and grabbed his arm and brought it down in front of you.

Ignis jumped from the initial shock of you surprising him. But as you snuggled down with his arm in front of you, he tightened up his arm on you and pulled you closer to him. He then fell back to sleep with a smile as he held you tight. He would stay there all day if he could. But he knew that when the alarm went off the next time, he would have to get up and so would you. For it would be time for you to head home. Something that he wasn't looking forward to. But in the meantime, he would enjoy these last few minutes with you as much as he could.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

You opened your eyes again as you felt him shift beside you as he once again reached over you and turned off the alarm. But this time instead of trying to lay back down, he gave you a kiss on your forehead as he stayed propped up on one elbow. You closed your eyes to the tender gesture as you rolled onto your back. He then pulled back and watched you slowly opened back up your eyes as you gave him a loving look.

"Time to get up love." He quietly said as he brought up his hand and ran his fingers across your face.

"Do we have to?" You quietly asked as your skin was left tingling under his gentle touch.

"I'm afraid so." He said as he moved your hair behind your ear. "We can't spend all day in bed. Besides, your dad will be excited to see you again."

"I suppose your right." You said with a hint of sadness. "I do need to head back and make sure that he eats dinner tonight."

"Huh?" Ignis said as he gave you a confused look. "Dinner? I think that you might be a bit early for that."

"What do you mean?" You asked as you gave him a curious look.

"It's Sunday morning, love." He said and watched your shocked face. "We have our first day of school tomorrow."

Your jaw dropped as you heard his words. "Are you serious?"

"You were exhausted, my dear. So we let you sleep." He said as he watched your shocked reaction.

"What about my dad?" You asked as you gave Ignis a worried look.

Ignis smiled back at you. "He's fine. In fact he should be getting discharged from the hospital today."

"Really?" You asked in shock as you stared at Ignis with wide eyes.

"Yeah." He smiled back. "So come on. Let's grab some breakfast before we head to the hospital to pick him up."

"Yeah." You replied with a huge smile.

After a quick bite to eat at the condo, you and Ignis headed over to the hospital to pick up your dad. You felt your heart racing as you walked down the hall towards your dad's room. Being in the hospital always made you nervous. After sitting in the waiting room area for all of those hours waiting to hear about your dad's surgeries, had pretty much set that in stone for you.

All the staff were saying hi as you walked by. You smiled and greeted them in turn as the two of you continued walking. You appreciated their smiles and kind words, but you were more than ready to be done with the whole hospital scene. But then as you approached your dad's room you heard your dad's voice along with Korn's.

"We will get you all set up at the house to work from home for a bit. This way you won't be too far behind in your work. Plus you won't be doing any field work for a awhile. So I have some other projects that you will work on in the meantime. At least until you are found fit for full duty again." You heard Korn say as you walked into the room

Korn was standing by the bed in his work suit as he talked to your dad. You saw that your dad was sitting up on the edge of the bed. He was fully dressed in his street clothes that you had brought him from the house before he woke up. He had his leg brace on the outside of his jeans and his ear was uncovered now so that it could heal the rest of the way. You smiled to yourself as you looked at your dad. For it looked like your dad was just as anxious to get out of there as you were.

"I didn't go through all of that training to be a desk jockey." Paul said to Korn as he gave him a serious look.

"It's only until you are fully recovered." Korn tried to reassure him as he watch Paul shift uncomfortably on the bed. "I would have you at your normal office, but they don't have the right set-up for you yet. That and, apparently they still don't have the elevator working in the building yet. Even since the Founder's Day incident when the building was damaged from the fighting in the street, they have been fighting to get it up and running again. And you may be fine with one flight of stairs at the house, but I don't want you to have to fight with the stairs to get to your office on the tenth floor."

Paul dropped his head as he fought against remembering anything about that faithful day. "Fine."

"I would have you in my office like before, but I'll be using it this week." Korn said as he watched Paul carefully.

"No that's okay. I don't want to put you out anymore then you already have been." Paul said as he kept him head down.

"I personally would prefer you to be at home." You said after you walked over and stopped at the foot of his bed.

Your dad looked up and smiled back at you.

"Hey kiddo." He smiled back at you. "Glad to see you. I heard you'd been asleep this whole time. And here I was thinking that you might have taken up residency over there."

You shyly smiled as you looked down. "I'm sorry about that. I had no idea I was asleep that long until Ignis told me this morning."

"It's alright kiddo." Your dad as he gave you a fatherly smile. "You must have been more worn out than what we first thought. Although Sara had told me that you hadn't really been sleeping very well while you were here. So I'm glad you got some sleep. And perhaps now, we can get you back on your normal sleep schedule once we're back at the house."

"Yeah." You quietly said as you stood there in shock.

Sara told him that? Had she been watching me that closely?

"Well speaking of going home," you heard a smooth voice say from behind you, "I hear that there is a certain patient who is looking to leave this fine establishment."

You looked behind you and saw the doctor come walking in. You smiled at him as he walking in wearing his lab coat and carrying a chart while wearing his usual dark blue tie, blue button-up shirt, and black slacks. He had been the one and only constant medical staff the entire time that you had been there. Besides Ignis and Sara, he was the only other person that you really got to talk to while you had been at the hospital with your dad. You even had a feeling that he had been the reason why the other staff members even let you use the shower that one evening.

"Well no offense Doc, but my house does have a much better television." Paul said with a smile.

"The may be true. But you should still be grateful." He said right as he stopped by the bed. "Usually patients don't get to be discharged on the weekend. But in your case we are making an exception."

"And we appreciate you doing this for us." Korn said as he turned to the doctor. "I'm not sure how else we would get him home otherwise. As it is, Ignis will have to be the one to drive his car home."

"If someone would let me take my driving test, that wouldn't be an issue." You quietly said.

"Perhaps we can do that this week. I won't be able to drive for a while and we will need to get around without having to rely on Ignis all the time." Paul said as he looked at his daughter.

"How about today?" You said with a determined tone as you crossed your arms.

Your dad laughed at you. But then gave you a big grin when you gave him the look of death for picking on you.

"Their not open today. So how about tomorrow instead?" He said with a more serious look. "We can go first thing after school. Once I get you registered again that is."

You gapped at him for a moment as his words sunk in. You had only been joking. You didn't think that he would take you seriously.

"Are you serious?" You half whispered.

"Well sure. Why not." He said with a smile. "Besides it's not like you and I hadn't already talked about it. And this looks to be the perfect time to get it. Besides, I can't really drive myself right now. At least not until I get this brace off of my leg. And even then, I will still have to go through a bit of rehab before I will be comfortable with driving a stick shift again."

You squealed with excitement as you ran over him as you threw your arms around his neck. "Thank you daddy!"

Paul laughed as he wrapped his arms around you. "Don't thank me just yet. You have to pass your written test first so that you can get your permit. Then you can start your driving lessons."

You released him and gave him a huge grin with tears in your eyes. "Right."

That night you and your dad enjoyed a quiet dinner and a movie that you had both been waiting to watch for a while. It was one of the many superhero movies that had come out several years ago. It was about a female warrior who had survived a near-death experience, only to become an assassin-for-hire. Her two latest targets was a single dad and his daughter. But during the course of her mission she befriended and ended up saving both of them.

You couldn't help but to put yourself within the movie as you could see a lot of yourself throughout the film. Well you and perhaps Sara a bit. Which at the same time made you a bit nervous about Sara. It made you start to wonder a bit more about her. Could she be an Elektra?

The next morning found you sitting in one of the a royal cars as you and your dad headed to the school. You had to head in with your dad first so that you could get registered. But after school you were going to get a ride home with Ignis. While your dad was going to have the driver take him back to the house once you were all settled at the school.

Your dad hadn't really been talking much that morning. He seemed to be a bit distracted with his own thoughts as the car headed for school. You kept glancing over at him, only to see him just staring out the window as if lost in thought. You weren't quite sure what was wrong, but you knew better then to press the issue. He would talk when he was ready.

Before you knew it you were standing in the guidance office of the high school as your dad was signing all of the paperwork for your registration. The room looked like any other school office. There was a long counter that separated the staff from the front lobby. The lobby had several chairs and a table to sit at while there were several offices that lined the outside walls. You figured that they had to belong to the guidance counselors and the principals for the school.

You glanced at the names that you saw on the walls, but only recognized one of them. Ms. Jones. She had been the counselor that you had talked to while you were in Altissia. You knew all about her, but you doubted that she would even remember who you were. Not with the way that your dad had had you as being anonymous the whole time that you were abroad. Plus your dad made it a point that they hardly knew anything about you for your own safety.

"Okay Mr. (l/n), it looks like everything is set. All me need now is to set her up with a username for the computer programs." The register was saying as she looked at the paperwork.

"But she already has one." Paul said as he gave her a serious look.

"She does?" She gave him a curious look.

"Yes." He said then he watched her very carefully. "It's Insom217."

She gave him a curious look. "Are you sure?"

"Positive." He said in a slightly stern voice as he watched her as she got slightly nervous.

"Can you wait here for a moment then? I need to consult her counselor." She said then walked away and entered Ms. Jones' office.

Within a moment she came out with who you could only presume was Ms. Jones. She had long pure blonde hair, blue eyes, beautiful face and an hourglass figure that seemed to be accented by her skin tight dress.  Which to you, seemed to be a bit too provocative to be worn at a high school.  She smiled broadly at your dad as soon as she saw him. You glanced at your dad, who still had a straight face as he watched them walking over.

You felt grateful that he didn't seemed to be fazed by her dress or sweet smile. You then looked back at her. She came up and held out her hand to Paul as she approached. Your dad slightly shifted so that he could stand with one crutch and shake her hand. She then gave him a slight flirty smile as she took his hand.

"Mr. (l/n)." She said in a sweet voice. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person this time. I never thought that I would ever get the pleasure to meet the brilliant man behind his brilliant daughter."

"The pleasure is all yours I can assure you." Paul said in a slightly cold voice.

"And you must be (y/n)?" She said as she looked at you as she kept holding your dad's hand.

"Yes ma'am." You politely said as you watched her.

She doesn't sound like the same person that I had talked to. You thought as you watched her clasp your dad's hand with both hands now.

"I can't tell you how excited I am to meet both of you. You are both a bit of a myth and a legend. Some of us thought that you couldn't be a real student.  Yet, here you are." She said with excitement.

"Thank you for your kind words." Your dad said in a flat voice. "Now if you don't mind Ms. Richards,  we would like to talk to Ms. Jones please? There are a few things that I would like to discuss with her "

You quickly turned to your dad and saw that he was giving her a serious look as he asked about Ms. Jones. He had a feeling that your dad had done his research about the staff. You knew he had looked into Ms. Jones, but you had no idea who else he had researched that worked at the high school. But now that you thought about it, you could almost guarantee that he did a background check on every single person in the school, to include the janitors.

"Ms. Jones?" Ms. Richards asked in a slightly louder tone as she dropped his hand.

Suddenly you heard a small squeak followed by crashing commotion coming from Ms. Jones' office. Then within a moment out came a short, petite, long-haired brunette with glasses. She nervously came out holding a notepad and pencil. She had her head down as she walked over. She was trying to straighten out her blue skirt that extended to her shins from under her white sweater jacket that covered up her white button up shirt.

"My apologies." She nervously said in her sweet voice. "I was on the phone with another parent. I didn't mean to keep you waiting."

You smiled back at her as you recognized that voice. She had definitely been the one that you had talked to for hours on the phone as you were trying to get everything set up for your different classes. And who you had gone over your grades with at the end of each class. You glanced over at your dad and saw that his face had soften as well.

"Not to worry." Your dad said in his usual charming voice.

"I appreciate you taking some time out to talk to us." He said as he held out his hand to her.

She still had her head down when she took his hand.

"Not at all." She said then looked up at your dad.

She froze after she saw his face. You don't think that she had ever meet him in person until that moment. For the look of shock and awe that she gave him told you that she was about to melt where she stood. You slightly smiled to yourself as you watched her. You kept forgetting the affect he had on women. Your mom was usually the one to deflect most of them. But now he was on his own.

"Might we talk in your office for a spell?" He asked as he tried to ignore the shocked look of Ms. Richards.

"Yeah. Yeah sure." She nervously stammered as she looked like she was about to pass out.

"This way." She said then she directed the way to her office.

"Thank you." Paul said then directed you to the office as he got both of his crutches back under his arms so that he could walk again.

"Thank you for your assistance Ms. Richards. But I think Ms. Jones can handle it from here." He said and walk away as he headed for the Ms. Jones office.

And with that you all entered Ms. Jones office, leaving the stunned Ms. Richards by herself. You slight smirked as you entered the office and sat down. You loved how your dad could always detect a kiss ass when he saw one. But he was also able to detect the people who actually did the work that they were suppose to do. As far as being able to detect the person with the best skills, your dad was one of the best that you had ever seen.

"Are you going to be alright in this chair? Would you like me to get you a bigger one?" She asked as she watched your dad fighting with his crutches and brace as he fought to take a seat.

"No I'll be alright. But I appreciate your concern." He said as he took a seat on the edge of the chair. "I just wanted to check to make sure that her schedule was as we had discussed from before. For we had talked about her taking more advanced classes this year since she was able to work ahead last year. I would hate for all of her hard work to go to waste."

"Everything should be good." Ms. Jones said in the sweet voice that you both knew very well.

She spoke as she walked behind her desk and sat down in her chair. "But let's go ahead and review where she is so that we can make sure that we aren't missing anything."

"Sounds good." You dad said as he smiled back at her.

You just sat back and smiled at the two of them, for now Ms. Jones was more relaxed as she started going over your schedule. She was very good at what she did. Just as long as she didn't get distracted by his handsome and sometimes overpowering presence.

Meanwhile........................

Where the hell is she? Noctis thought as he stood in the hallway as he waited for you. Just how long does it take to sign some papers?

Ignis and Gladio had already headed to their floor to get to class. Which left him waiting by himself for you come out of guidance. He knew that he should be heading to class. But he wanted to wait for you since you were both going to be on the same floor to get started. Noctis tried to act calm as he waited, but all he heard was people commenting as they stared at him as he stood there.

"Is that the Prince?"

"Duh! Wow, I can't believe we go to the same school!"

"Tst." Noctis said as he turned his head.

I can't keep waiting here. Their looking at me like a freak show. Noctis though as the stares were starting to get to him.

He didn't have all of the body guards this year since everyone was in the same school with him this year. But that didn't mean that he wanted everyone staring at him. All it was doing was reminding him of his first day in public elementary school again. Finally he gave up and pushed off of the wall

I'll just have to catch up to her later. He thought as he turned and started down the hallway.

The eyes and whispers seemed to follow him as he walked down the hallway.

"What should we do? Should we talk to him?" He heard some girls whisper as they stared at him like a zoo animal.

"No, I couldn't." He heard them say as he entered the open courtyard.

He figured that he would hear the voices echo less if there wasn't a ceiling for it to bounce off of. Much to his relief, this seemed to muffle the whispers. But then he heard someone jogging up behind him. Followed shortly buy someone smacking him on his left shoulder. He turned to the person and came face-to-face with a tall short blonde hair guy. He had his sleeves rolled up and a white and green wrist band on his right wrist.

"Hey there, Prince Noctis!" He said with a gentle smile.

"Huh?" Noctis returned as he gave the blonde a curious look.

"I'm Prompto! Nice to meet you!" He said with a smile.

Noctis gave his a slightly startled looked as he glanced up and down at him. Is this the same kid that was had been stocking me for the last few years? It looks like him. But I'm not sure.

"Don't I know you ?" Noctis asked as he watch Prompto's reaction.

Prompto nervously laughed as he brought his hand up to his head and started rubbing the back of his head.

Yep. That's him. Noctis thought as he smiled back at Prompto. I'm impressed. He's changed quite a bit. Well body wise. It looks like the rest is still the same though.

Noctis then smiled and lightly tapped Prompto on the shoulder as they both started to continue on their way to class. Noctis couldn't help by smile as he walked next to Prompto. He had been the only one who had ever come up and just wanted to talk, besides you of course. And he was glad that Prompto had finally decided to come forward and say hi.

"So what is your homeroom class number?" Prompto nervously asked as he looked at Noctis.

"117 I think." Noctis said as he kept walking.

"Really?" Prompto asked with surprise. "Here to. Want to sit next to each other?"

Noctis looked at Prompto with a smile. "I would like that alot."

For once. Someone else who seems to just wants to hang out. And if he is the same person as before, this could turn out to be a good turn of events. Noctis thought as he smiled at Prompto, who smiled broadly back at him.

"So what other classes do you have this year?" Prompto started to ask as they entered room 117 to start their day.

******Author Note******

I know, I know. LONG overdue for Prompto to finally make his appearance. But timing wise, it wouldn't have made any sense until now. But of course now that he is here, let the fun begin.
