Meanwhile.................

"You know, when you first mentioned taking a nap.  I never thought that you were actually planning on laying down and falling asleep."  Cathy said as she looked over at Paul as they laid down on the only double bed in his room.  

Paul was on his side as he laid next to her.  His eyes were closed as he rested his head on the pillow while facing Cathy as she laid on her back next to him.  She couldn't help but to watch him.  Especially since he didn't seem to be awake and they had only been laying down for a few minutes.

She sighed as she rolled over so that she could get a better look at him as he slept.  He really was the most handsome man that she had ever seen and been able to spend time with.  Apart from Korn that is.  But he was obviously taken. 

But Cathy couldn't seem to figure out Paul.  What was his deal anyway?  Why did he invite her to his room, if he was only going to fall asleep on her?  Or was that it?  Was he really here only to sleep?

She dropped her eyes as she curled up more.  Perhaps she had been right from the beginning when she didn't think that he was really interested in her.  She then sighed and rolled over to lay on her other side so that she was facing away from him.  But maybe it was all for the best.

Cathy slowly dropped her head as she looked away from him.  "Oh.  I see."

Suddenly she felt his hand on her chin again as she was once more turned to face him.  "But after my work is done tonight, I had planned on taking care of both of our needs in that area."

"But for now, I just want a brief nap."  Paul said in a deep tone before he gave her a quick kiss and releasing her as he laid down on his back and closed his eyes again.

Holy shit!  He's serious!  I can't believe he's serious about that.  Cathy thought as she stayed still as if she was afraid to move and wake up from the dream that she positive that she was having.

She then slightly jumped as she heard a soft snore from behind her.  She glanced over at him and saw that his eyes were closed again as he laid back on the pillow.  She watched as his chest slowly rose and felt with each breath.  She couldn't believe it, he had actually fallen asleep already as he laid beside her. 

She gave him a slight smile before she rolled back over on her side and beamed at the floor.  Did this mean that he really liked her?  He certainly seemed to trust her if he could fall asleep that easily as he laid beside her.  Was this what love really was when it first started?

Cathy sighed with a slight smile as she closed her eyes.  Dear gods I hope so.

Later that night........

After a very filling and enjoyable dinner, everyone found themselves relaxing back in their rooms again. You were in Ignis' and Gladio's room talking to Gladio, Monica and Ignis as you played with Talcott.  Noctis and Prompto were playing a video game in their room. So their room was way to loud to talk in.

But you didn't mind.  You were having way to much fun playing with Talcott on the floor as he played with his toys.    Ignis was sitting on the floor with you as he sat with his back up against the foot-board of the bed. You were sitting right in between his legs and Talcott was right in front of you.

Gladio and Monica were also on the floor.  Gladio was leaning up against the other bed and had Monica wrapped up in his arms as she sat in between his legs.  She had her head against his chest and her legs up in front of herself as Gladio held her as they watched you playing with Talcott.  Monica smiled at you as you had Talcott giggling up a storm as you made his favorite stuffed Chocobo toy dance around as if he was playing.  Gladio tightened up his grip on Monica as he closed his eyes for a moment as he gave her a kiss on her head.

You couldn't help but to smile at them as you glanced up at them for a moment as they seemed to finally be enjoying themselves.  It was very rare for them to really just enjoy the others company as they were at the moment.  What with Jared and Clarus keeping a close eye on the two of them.  Which made this one of those rare times that they could act the way they wanted to.

Talcott squeak a laugh at you as you let him grab his Chocobo and start to hug it.  You smiled back at Talcott before you looked back at Ignis.  He gave you a quiet but reserved smile as he seemed to be studying everything about you as he silently watched you.  You sat back up as Talcott seemed to be preoccupied with his toy to notice that you moved away form him. 

"What's that look for?"  You asked as you glanced at him with your head tilted to the side.

Ignis smiled and slightly shook his head.  "It's nothing."

You sat up more and tilted your head to the other side.  "That look isn't nothing."

Ignis did a muffed half laugh as he slightly dropped his head before he looked back up at you.  "It never is for you is it?"

"Fine."  Ignis continued as he reached up and moved you hair behind your ear.  "Then I shall tell you."

His tender touch left your skin tingling from such a gentle touch.  But his hands seemed to always be able to do that.  Didn't they.  It was as if his fingers were silky feathers as they brushed against your skin.

"I was just admiring how natural you seemed to be with children."  Ignis said with a smile.  "Your going to be a great mother one day."

Instantly your cheeks got red, which made you nervously drop your gaze again.  "Thank you.  But I wouldn't go that far.  I'm just doing what my mom did with me when I was little."

"Well it shows that she taught you very well then."  Ignis said as he raised up your chin.  "And anyone would be blessed to have you as their wife someday."

Your breath seemed to catch as you saw his eyes grow intense as he smiled at you.  You knew that he was talking about his promise to you as he sat there admiring you.  You dropped your head and blushed again as you smiled.  You had already been secretly praying that he would be the one that you would marry when you got old enough.  And the promise ring that he had given you during the holiday dance was all you needed to tell you that he felt the same way.

But there was no rush.  There was still a lot that needed to be completely before that could happen for the two of you.  So for now, you would just enjoy the here and now with each moment that you could spend with him.  And perhaps one day, when you were both ready, he would ask you for real. 

"Speaking of wives."  Monica said as she glanced at Ignis.  "The buzz around the citadel is that your uncle's wedding will be held there this summer.  Is it true?"

Ignis turned to Monica and nodded with a smile.  "Indeed it is.  They had asked his majesty a while back if it would be okay to use one of the banquet halls for their wedding reception after having the ceremony in the garden."

"Wow!   Really?"  You asked as you beamed at him.  "That's awesome."

"Indeed."  Ignis said as he pushed his glasses further up on his nose with his middle finger.  "And Mary has been putting everything together with the assistance of Marge and Jared.  I expect it to be a grand event just based on what I've hear so far."

"But wait a minute?"  You asked in a slightly stunned tone.  "Won't you be getting set up at the college this summer?  Your uncle mentioned something about you heading out as soon as the school year ends so that you can get settled into the new school."

Ignis looked down for a moment before he looked back up.  She would remember that conversation now wouldn't she.  "My uncle has already  made the arrangements for me to come home for a a few days for it."

"Really?"  You asked as you beamed at him.  "That's awesome.  I can't wait to hear what you think about the city when you come back for the wedding.  I think that your going to like it.  I know I enjoyed walking around it."

Ignis smiled back at you as you beamed at him.  He was glad that you still had a good attitude about the college thing.  It had been a shock at first when you had first found out.  But when you got accepted to his current college as a high school student, you seemed to understand it more.  He just hoped that the distance wouldn't drive a wedge between the two of you.

Okay, so this one took a bit longer to get out then I had hoped.  But I kept getting distracted with how I wanted it to go.  Plus I had to read a few chapter back to remember exactly what I had written.  I knew the plot, but the spoken words always seemed to blend together after writing for this long.
