"Mein kyu tere sath nahi aa sakta.. jab humne academy sath join ki thi to ab tu akela kyu jayega.. mujhe field experience nahi chahiye kya.. tere chakkar mein meine KMA me hi apni posting karai or ab tu hi hawa ho raha hai mujhe yaha akela chhod kar" Alekh interrogates him.

"Tu akela kaha hai, tera mann lagaye rakhne ke liye tere pass teri Nasheeli Nisha hai na", he joked.

"Tujhe sab mazak lag raha hai" alekh asks seriously not in mood of joke "Why Rajveer, ye plan me sudden change kyu?".

Rajveer sighs "dekh alekh, me tujhe sath leke jana chahta hu lekin fir.. fir meine socha ki Naina yaha akeli hogi.. to.. koi to hona chahiye na uske pas jo uska dhyan rakh sake... Khas kar ke tab jab Abhimanyu bhi isi academy mein hai". Rajveer lied to his best friend for the first time in his life.

Alekh looks at him suspiciously "Naina ka dhyan rakhne ke liye uska saga bhai idhar hi hai.. nahi bhi hota to Naina apna khud ka khayal rakhne ke liye kafi hai... Tu Naina ko bewakoof bana sakta hai magar mujhe...mein tujhe bachpan se janta hu... Bol kya wajah hai tere iss jhol ki" he asks not buying his excuses.

Rajveer thought it's all vain to hide things from him.. now or later he will find out the reason of his sudden departure. "I slept with Nandini" Rajveer told him the entire thing. Making his eyes and mouth go wide in the shape of saucer as he tells him the further details.

"Navv...wait what?? He knows!!!" It was again another shocker for him, he checks Rajveer if he got any injury.

"Kya kar raha hai tu...pagal ho gaya kya" he almost screamed at him when he touched him unnecessarily.

"Chot dhund raha hu.. ladki ke bhai ko bata ke aya hai that I cheated on your sister... Pitai to pakka hui hogi na" alekh said.

"You think it's funny?" Rajveer said controlling his anger.

"Lag to waisa hi raha hai" alekh said sarcastically. "Tum dono ke dono nut case ho... Naina fass gayi hai tum dono ke beech" he said pitying her.

Rajveer sighed "look Alekh, captain is mature and understands that..  jo uss raat hua bhale hi galati meri rahi ho.. magar.. it wasn't my intention to....." Guilt started to build inside him "to cheat her..." He masked his emotions "meine faisla kar liya hai.. naina ki training khatam hote hi..mein usey sab sach bata dunga.. fir chahe wo jo faisla le..mujhe manzoor hoga" he said with heavy heart.

Alekh keeps his hand on his shoulder in assurance "kuch bhi ho jaye.. mein tere sath hu...... Hamesha" Rajveer looks at him in gratitude. Alekh wonderes, How many tests his friend needs to give, how many hurdles he needs to cross, why can't his life be simple and straight.. why God never shows mercy on him and let him live his life peacefully.

"Chal ab zyada senti mat ho... Pass out prade ka time ho gaya... Or Abhimanyu ka chehra bhi to dekhna hai... Jab BC mujhe best cadet announce karenge". Rajveer jokes to lighten the mood. Alekh nodded chuckling a little.

"Aye yedi..muhh kaiko sada rahi hai, dekh khush hoja..ab to tere chikne ko best cadet pass out ka tag mil gaya" alekh tries to cheer her up.

Naina forced a smile "hmm... am happy for him".

"Dikh raha hai... Majnu ki judai ka gham laila ko khaye ja raha hai... Ja jake mil le uss se.. do ghante me nikal jayega wo...ja jaldi" he sends her forcefully "room me hai wo apne..bhaag fatafat".

"Rajveer why are you doing this..sab sahi chal raha hai.. stop punishing yourself, tumhari galati nahi thi... We were drunk that night" Nandini tries to make him understand.

"Nahi Nandini..bhale hi hum hosh me nahi the magar..jo hua uss raat wo thik nahi tha..paap tha. And I can never forgive myself for that mistake". He said with plain face looking outside.

Her heart pained when he said it mistake. No matter how much she wants to forget it and take it as moment of weakness but it was the most beautiful and memorable part of her life which she wants to cherish all her life. But again, like always she wants his hapiness and she is ready to make amendments for him only.

"Naina ko kuch pata nahi hai.. ab bhi mauka hai Rajveer. Change your mind and..... Yahi raho...uske sath. You need her.. she needs you." she pleads.

"Naina ko kuch nahi pata... Magar mujhe to pata hai" he turns to look at her "uss se chupa lunga..lekin khud se kaise chipaunga apni sacchai.. nazre kaise mila paunga uss se... I needs to be away from her for some time". He again turns to look outside.

"Ek baar fir sochlo Rajveer...ab bhi kuch nahi bigda hai" she tries for one last time.

"My decision is final" he said making his decision firm.

She enters inside and saw him keeping his bags packed aside, he noticed her presence in room. They had an eye lock, Rajveer gazes her with longing and guilt while Naina saw him with love and yearning. She runs in his arms as he hugs her back tightly.

She started showing kisses on his neck and face while he just feels her love for him, this was all which will keep him alive and sane for coming up months. The thought of distance between them in itself was scaring him off. For one last time he let his heart follow it's lead and let her do whatever she was doing.

She quickly unbuttons his shirt while he cups her face taking her lips in his sucking them urgently as if it was his oxygen on which he can survive. He lifts her up from waist and wraps her legs around his waist... He pasted her back against wall as she peels off his already undone shirt from his body.

"Lt. Shekhawat, apke liye KMA se phone hai.. Lt. Sharma ka" an orderly informs him.

"Alekh..iss waqt kyu phone kar raha hai" he saw time it was 2 P.M. and he never calls him in afternoon. "Kahi Naina ko kuch..." He paniks and runs to take the call "hello.." he said urgently.

"Arey wahh... Dost ke naam se itni jaldi agaye.. or me phone karti hu to busy hu.. kya dosti apki Lt. Shekhawat" said Naina from other said.

"Naina.." he was surprised "phone tumne kiya? To fir orderly ne Alekh ka naam?"

"Jhoot bola.. ya yun kahu ki apne bolne par majboor kar diya.. pichle teen mahine me sirf do bar baat ki hai apne.. wo bhi mushkil se 2 minute...lagta hai Ladakh ja kar aap mujhe bhul hi gaye hai... Koi aur pasand agayi hai kya" he can imagine her pouting in annoyance.

"Nahi..nahi Naina aisa nahi hai.. wo bas kam bahot hota hai.. junior officer hu na or sikhne ko bahot kuch hai, pressure zyada rehta hai". He tried to hide.

"Hmm... Lekin thoda time to nikal hi sakte ho na aap mere liye.. roz nahi to hafte me ek baar hi sahi.. captain Vidyut or Lt. Mona ko hi dekh lo.. captain ki Posting Kanyakumari hui hai.. magar dekho dono daily baat karte hai kam se kam ek ghante ke liye.. she is pregnant with his child now magar fir bhi pyaar kam nahi hua... or ye kam nahi the to Alekh aur Nisha apna PDA dikha dikha kar mere zakhmo par namak chidakte hai" she complained cutely.

He smiles sadly, imagining her innocent face "am sorry Naina, mein tumhe zyada time nahi de pata".

She was surprised "wow! Did I just heard you say sorry.. kamal hai. Lagta hai Ladakh ki Barf ne apke tapman ko kam kar diya hai" he smiled from other side. "It's good. Mera pahado pe ghar lene ka idea yani ki thik hi tha" she giggled as his smile vanished from his face.. remembering his deeds.

He can't keep her in delusion nor he can tell her the truth neither can entertain without feeling guilty. Hence he decided to keep some distance from her to prevent lying further more. "Naina... I wouldn't be able to contact you after this conversation" he said keeping stone on his heart.

"Kyu? Meine kuch galat kiya? Aap naraz ho" she panicked

"Nahi nahi..nahi naina.. you never did anything wrong and you can never do anything wrong ever... You are flawless... It's just" he bites his lips preparing himself for another lie "I am going on a undercover mission.. I wouldn't be able to contact you".

She stays silence for few seconds and asks in low tone "kab tak?"

"I don't know... It's my first mission and I can't take any risk. Magar jaise hi time milega.. I'll call you" he said not liking the disappointment in her voice.

"Hmm...take care and...I love you" she waited for his reply.

His heart skips  a beat whenever she says those magical words "..I ...love.." whenever he tries to convey his love the flashes of that night returns back to haunt him again.. "I need to go... My senior officer is calling me... Take care" he hung up the call quickly before she can say anything.

He shuts his eyes tightly cursing himself for hurting her intentionally "am sorry jaan... Magar me tumse or jhut ab nahi bol sakta..ab me tumse tab hi baat karunga jab.... Jab tumse sab kuch sach kahunga... " He was feeling heavy "how am going to survive without you...", Fear gripping him.

Two more months later

"Oye Rajveer... Waha tent me kaha chala.. idhar aa pehle do peg maar le.. fir so jana.. " his fellow officer said.

"Nahi, tum log piyo..mujhe nahi peena" he denied.

"Come on Lt. Itni kadakti sardi pad rahi hai, you need this to survive...warna subha tak tumhari kulfi ban jayegi" his senior said.

"Thankyou sir but I don't drink.." he politely denied again remembering the last incident when he got drunk "iss sharab ne.. meri zindagi ki Sabse keemti cheez ko mujhse alag kar dia hai". How badly he wishes to undo that night but alas! Who can change the past.

"Abe aa na Rajveer.. ladkio ki tarah kyu Sharma raha hai prince of Barmer... Saari nazakat yahi dikhayega kya.." his fellow officer joked.

If he would have been that same old Rajveer then this guy wouldn't be daring to pass such comment on him and have been laying on ground with blood dripping from his limbs by now but the guilt staying inside him changed him. He is more calmer than before, he started to think in rational way, he is less agressive and more calm now. That single night was enough to break his myth and he finally accepted... That he too is... Flawed.
