Spring
A resounding chirp
Wakes the eyes of dawn
Yellow light filters through
The trees with a yawn
Tiny buds poking out
Little creatures all about
A greener world all around
And all the flowers start to sprout
Wildflowers in full bloom
Paintbrushes color the grasses
Plucked for a flower crown
Fitting well with sunglasses
Plums and peaches all about
With peas and figs blooming soon
Squirrels stealing all the fruit
Leaving none after noon
Mating calls fill the trees
And butterflies glint a wing
While bumblebees pollinate
To bloom all of spring
