The Guild of Wolves

Description

The keen-eyed WolfGuild wildcats are dependable and loyal. Don't mess with one—there'll be five more behind her.

• Wise

• Reserved

• Perceptive

They are friendly to each other, forming close bonds with their Guildmates. They value the strength of a good team, but can appreciate a self-reliant, 'loner' spirit.

WolfGuild cats are strong and have great endurance. They are lean, skilled hunters and fighters. They work best as a group, and form close bonds with their Guildmates. Many of them still retain the ancient bloodlines of the Mother-Cats, the great bobcats, and are large and powerful creatures.

They are independent and tend to keep to themselves, and the medicine cats are known to never use their rank's ability to travel through any Guild's territory.

They have respect and care for the forest and wildlife, doing various things to promote growth of foliage and health of animals, such as tending medicinal plants, pulling harmful vines off trees, clearing clogged streams, and never hunting nesting birds or eggs.

Territory

Their territory is a thick mixture of deciduous and coniferous forest, with streams running down from the Silent Mountains and thick, ferny undergrowth. The most common trees are poplars, elms, beeches, pines, and hemlocks.

Their territory's south border meets HawkGuild's and FoxGuild's, and is marked by a winding, frequently-travelled highway.

On the north the territory ends at Ninecrow valley, on the other side of which tower the Silent Mountain peaks, and on the east it is bordered by the wide cornfields, beyond which is a city. The west border ends at the top of a ridge overlooking the small town of Copper Creek.

The WolfGuild settlement is at the top of a ridge that descends from the mountains. The camp is in a hollow in the side of the ridge, filled with ferns. The Keeper's perch is a narrow rock that emerges from beneath the largest beech of all, and their den is in the tree's roots.

Notable places in the territory are the Blackberry Thickets, Deer Valley, Fading Sun Ridge, the Mudmarshes, Leaping Cat Branch, and Old Rabbit's cabin.
