I pulled Percy to my chest.
She shouldn't have come here.
I shouldn't have let her.
Burying my face in her hair, I gently stroked the feathers on her wing.
She never deserved this.
I do wonder what the Fates had in store for her before I intervened.
Would she have been happy with it?
Would Sally still be alive?
And I can't help but wonder if I on some level knew she was my child and directed fate to led her to me.
If so...then isn't everything that has happened to her my fault?
Then shouldn't I try to help?
I sighed. I should take her back to Chaon.
So she can rest.
Although she'd probably come straight back here the moment she wakes up.
And I don't just mean Earth.
I mean this cemetery.
She'd just keep coming back.
And I don't know how she'd be affected.
Sighing I stood up. Well.
I better get going.
Or should I say we?
Shaking my head I warped us to my bedroom.
Why not Percy's?
Well...she...
I just want her in here okay?
"I'm sorry. I should have paid more attention to you. Not even I know what could have happened if I didn't show up. And I frankly don't want to." Mumbling I laid her on my bed.
Then I smiled slightly.
This is a lot better than the last time I brought her in here.
That last time...I was so scared.
I don't want her to die.
I know that's kinda an occupational hazard but, still.
What parent says they want their kid to die?
"No...please. No!" She yelled out in her sleep.
Chaos!!!
What Luke?
Where's Percy?! I can't sense her!
She's safe Luke. We're on Chaon. There's just something we have to handle.
I could practically feel his relief. That's good.
Percy sobbed and I frowned.
"Baby?" I asked before face palming.
She's asleep. Duh.
How's she supposed to answer?
Sighing I shook her.
Might as well wake her up.
"Dad?" After a minute she looked up at me through half-lidded eyes.
"Yeah it's me baby." I gently brushed a hand across her cheek.
"Where are we?" She asked. Seriously?
Can't you look-
Not a word Chaos.
Not one word.
You know she's depressed. You don't need to question her mental process.
"My room." Was my gentle reply.
She nodded and nestled into the blankets.
"What were you dreaming about?"
She turned over, her wings to me. "Nothing important."
Grabbing her I flipped her back over. "Tell me."
"I don't want to."
"Percy..."
"I can handle it! I'm not two!"
"I'm your father! I want to know so I can help you!" I yelled.
Then I stood shocked.
I think that's the first time I've ever actually raised my voice at her.
She stared at me, eyes wide.
Then she finally responded. "I don't want to talk about it." She averted her gaze.
"Then show me." I said gently.
Sighing she sat up and reached out to me.
I picked her up and sat on my bed, her on my lap facing me.
"Please..." She started. "Please don't overreact or anything."
"No promises." I smiled gently.
I know this is going to be hard on her.
Showing people good dreams are hard enough.
That's like letting someone read your diary, and reading everything you've ever sent via text or email or whatever.
But it's so much more.
Cause dreams are a part of you. Not something you can control or write.
They exist whether you want them or not.
Makes me question why I chose to have Morpheus be allowed to exist.
Sometimes he does his job a little too well.
But considering he can't influence Percy anymore...
What exactly is causing her nightmares?
Percy leaned forward and pressed our foreheads together.
"It's okay Percy. Just let me see." I stared into her dark eyes.
Okay... She closed her eyes and I was pulled into the darkness.
Percy stood in the middle of a clearing, a small bouquet in her hand.
Then pillars sprung up from the ground around her.
Each had a single name carved in it.
Bianca.
Zoë.
Lee.
Castor.
Beckendorf.
Michael.
Silena.
Ethan.
Luke.
Each of the Army had a pillar.
And Percy approached them, laying on flower at the base of each.
But...
When she laid one at Luke's something happened.
Each of the pillars rippled, becoming the person it represented.
"How could you let me die! You promised Nico!" I watched in horror as Bianca shot Percy's leg.
"Thou should have perished! Thou could have saved thee!" Zoë stabbed Percy in the arm with a silver arrow.
"Where were you! You were my friend! You should have helped on border patrol!"
"My brother is suffering because of you! Why did I die and not you?! You are supposed to be loyal!"
"You should have stayed! Silena and I both died because of your cowardice!"
"You killed me! You collapsed the bridge with me on it!"
"Why didn't you do what I did?! We both know it would've been for the better! Just stab yourself!"
"I tried to help and you couldn't even try to save me! This is why I joined Kronos in the first place!"
As you could expect each of them attacked her in some way. Both Apollo boys shot her. Castor used vines. Beckendorf used Greek fire.
Silena...she made Percy hurt herself.
Ethan used his sword.
And Luke...
"I wasn't supposed to die! You were supposed to be the one who died because of everything! You could have easily prevented the prophecy by just killing yourself before you turned sixteen! So why didn't you?!"
He stabbed her through the gut, before starting to fade away.
"You're not a hero. You're a failure."
I was going to continue it but...
I figured you could wait a week.
Not to mention I rewrite this thing after I had six hundred words done.
But it turned out better so it was worth staring at a screen for two hours not even getting the chapter done until today.
So yeah...*yawn* I think I have a quiz today.
And a map quiz tomorrow.
In the same class
And I swear if we have a quiz in English I'm jumping out a window.
Also I have a Q/A going so ask away please
I kinda am going to do a YouTube channel and I figured that be a good way to get started.
So see yah.
