Chaos

I stood outside my daughter's door, a bag held in one hand a few boxes balanced on my head.

If you're wondering why I don't just use my powers to have them hover or something...

Well this is just more fun.

I knocked lightly on the door, attempting to not drop the boxes.

Needless to say I failed.

But I did catch them with my powers.

Okay one more knock. Then I'll go in.

My daughter may be over five thousand years old but she's still a teenager.

And I know very well how guys are.

Knocking again I waited.

Okay. Okay. I warped inside, prepared for the worst.

Just to see Percy and Luke curled up in the bed.

But...Percy seemed to be in the midst of a nightmare.

Tossing around she softly cried out.

Dropping the stuff I knelt by the bed and gently ran a hand through her hair.

"Sh. Your safe. I'm safe. Not your fault. Nothing was your fault." I whispered in her ear.

Eyes flittering open she stared at me.

"Dad?" She yawned and tried to sit up.

Only to fail because of Luke's arms tightly wrapped around her waist.

"How come he didn't wake up?" I asked, looking at the son of Hermes.

Percy frowned slightly. "Wasn't getting good enough sleep. I took his nightmares for him."

I sighed. Of course. "You are too good for him."

She rolled her eyes. "You'd say that about any guy."

I smiled and kissed her forehead. "True."

"I thought you'd approve of him. After all you've known him for five thousand years." She said, lightly rubbing Luke's arm.

Moving so I was sitting on my heels, I folded a wing around myself.

My little daughter is growing up.

"Yeah. Well. It's a rule that dad's can't approve of their daughter's boyfriends. Cause then if we say we approve of one..."

"We'll most likely find a guy you don't approve of." Percy finished.

I nodded.

I really want to show her this stuff so...

I gestured my hand at Luke and he disappeared.

No. I did not just throw my daughter's boyfriend into oblivion.

I just put him in his own bed.

Percy sat up stretching.

"Is there a reason you came? Or is this just an overprotective dad thing?"

I rolled my eyes. "Yes actually. I brought you something for the dance you've been oh so looking forward to."

The bag was now in my hand along with the boxes. Standing I hung the bag over the changing partition.

"Really Dad?" She asked looking at it.

"What? It's classy."

"If I succumb to this torture will you leave me alone?" She asked.

"No."

"Great." With that she hopped off the bed.

"Come on. Please?" I threw out my most pleading expression.

"No."

"Pwease?"

"No."

"Pwetty pwease?"

"No. And stop you sound like you're two."

"Pwetty pwease with blue ice cream?"

"With blue sprinkles and it's a deal."

I smiled. Always works.

"Okay. Look at the dress first." I sat on her bed.

Walking over she picked it up off the partition and untied the bottom of the bag before sliding it off the dress.

She gasped and I immediately knew she liked it.

One way to tell?

She didn't make a fuss about wearing it.

"I-It's gorgeous." She stammered out staring at it.

The dress was blue. But not plain blue.

It was darker, royal blue at the top and slowly lightened to turquoise at the bottom.

Sparkles were scattered across it and in the center of the neckline was a rhinestone decoration.

And underneath that was a piece of the fabric that flowed down.

Honestly it reminded me of water.

Percy carefully hung it up before engulfing me in a hug.

"Thank you." She mumbled into my chest.

"You're welcome. Now how about you check out the other stuff?"

She pulled away and nodded.

I handed her the box with the shoes.

These were heels.

"Joy. What am I going to do if I need to fight?" She looked at me.

"You can fight just as well in heels as you can in converse." I said.

It's true. She once fought a major war in heels.

If you want to know what they looked like...

They were white and sat about where her socks do.

They also had mesh on the sides of them with an open toe.

And they were sparkly.

"And finally." I handed her the final box.

She tilted her head and opened it.

Looking up at me she met my eyes and I waited with batted breath.

"I love it." She breathed out.

"Let me." I gently took the new mask in my hands.

Placing it to her face I could feel the material shift slightly as it adapted to her.

I stepped back, taking in her appearance.

The blue mask glimmered and shone, bringing out her eyes.

"Beautiful. You are beautiful." I kissed her head.

"I believe you are supposed to say that after I'm in the dress."

Of course.

"Speaking of which...how long do I have to get ready?"

I checked my watch. Yes. A watch. "Four hours."

"What?! Dad! That's like nowhere near enough time!" She panicked.

"Sh. Calm down. Did you forget I can always pause time?"

She blushed. "Shut up."

Grabbing the dress she walked behind the partition.

"I swear Dad. You can be such a pain sometimes." She said.

I knew it. She was going to complain about the dress.

"Just hurry up. I want to see it on you."

"Fine fine."

After a minute she stepped out, the spaghetti strapped dress on her delicate figure.

Although I know for a fact she's not as delicate as she looks.

"Can you..." She moved her hair and turned around.

"Yeah." I zipped the back of the dress and hooked the clasp.

She turned. And...

"You look absolutely stunning." I said.

Her hair tumbled loosely down to her midback.

"Thanks. Now...what else am I freaking supposed to do?"

Me.

So totally me.

And the dress and shoes?

That's what I'm wearing to homecoming on Saturday.

So I'll probably post some pictures later.

I had a butt load of homework last night and ugh.

See yah guys.
