"Lalisa, I already gave a week extension, you need to pay this month rent or I will have to evict you." Mr. Kim tells me.

"I'm only short by 200,I just need three more days." I begged him.

He signed and bent his head over as if he was exhausted. "Lisa, this is the fifth month you been late and barely able to pay rent. Keep the money, you have till the end of this week to be out."

I knew Mr. Kim would get tired of my tardiness of rent. It was coming, I was just hoping to buy more time.

My dad warned me living in the city was not a easy living but I felt like the city had more opportunities for me as a dancer. So I decided to attend college here in the city while living with a roommate. But My roommate got pregnant and moved in with her boyfriend and led me to live on my own to double the money I needed.

I didn't tell my parents, they would have dragged me out the city with my ears. I tried my best, going to school, taught dance to little girls and waitress at a local dinner three times a week.

Is it exhausting, yes but I had to do what I had to make it.

Maybe this was a sign to find a new place, clean start you know.
I grabbed my bag and left Mr. Kim office. I had to get ready for my part time waitress job.
The dine was pretty busy on weekends and late night. We opened 24/7 and the money wasn't bad. I can make three hundred easy on those three days with my hourly paycheck.

I was running around making sure all my tables were good. I had five tables and one table was practically done. Since I had a moment to rest, I sat down in the employee lounge for a moment. Rose, a co worker of mine, was sitting down having a yogurt.
"Hey Lisa, are you okay?"
I took a deep breath before answering. "Yeah, just have a lot on my mind."
"What's going on?" Rose had sincere heart. I told her that I had to be out of my place and all. Her eyes showed that she was worry for me.
"Oh Lisa I'm sorry to hear about that. I wish there is-" she stopped mid sentence and was lost in thought.
"Umm Rose, are you okay?" She didn't replied but grabbed her phone and started to text someone.
It was like she forgot we were having a conversation. I didn't want to be rude but I had to go check on my table.
"Umm Rosie, I got to get back on the floor." I said awkwardly. I just slowly left the lounge.

Rose and I are really good friends and she's someone I trust very much. So for her to zone out like that was unusual. I hope she is okay.

I decided to focus on my tables and tonight was a good night. I made 115 dollars today.

But I was beat.

The night was basically over, I had to mop the floor and I was done.

I was almost done when Rose yelled my name in my ears. "Lisa! Oh my gosh. Guess what?"
I pulled away from her yelling.
"Rose! What is it?" I scowl at a her.
"Well... my cousin Yoongi, has a friend who needs a roommate." She tells me.
My face lit up. "What!"
"Yes. His friend just got a car and need help with rent or something like that." She explained.
"That's great! Wait where is it and how much?"
She stopped and gave me a cheeky smile. "I wouldn't have you about it if it was unreasonable silly. He lives about ten minutes from here." I was surprised, this neighborhood was a nice neighborhood but it worried me with the price. "He is only expecting 300 and half on utilities. So like 400." I dropped the mop from being speechless.
"Wait only four hundred a month?!?!"
She nods her head. "That sounds too good to be true." I tell her skeptically.
"Well his parents are rich and they pay most of it. So he pays half of the rent originally but since he is getting a car he needs helps to pay for it." She explained in detail.
It sounds like a dream come true. "And he said you could go over tomorrow and check it out. I'll go with you."
I gave Rose a big hug. "Thank you Rosie. This means so much to me."
"So your interested right?"

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"Well you will be living with a guy." She reminds me.

I didn't realized that one little detail. But at this point, I couldn't be picky. I needed to find a place. This place was in a nice neighborhood and affordable. I had to take it before someone else does.

"Well it's not the ideal but I can't let this great deal pass by especially when I 'm not the position to be picky." I tell her.

Rose helped me finish mopping and I walked to my place. I took my shoes off before fully entering my place. I sat down looking at my apartment. One things I hate doing is packing. Luckily I didn't have much. But it's still a pain in the ass.
