I'm Thinking About you

Instead of writing my own story I'm too busy looking at you
and watching your fingers posed over your own laptop.

By the time I get back to my own story the thoughts
of what is going to happen next has disappeared replaced
by thoughts of you and my writing is virtually non-existent.

I look up again and find you smiling at me as you ask,
"what are you thinking about?"

Instead of saying , "you,"
I say, "just story ideas,"
