Daisies

I just want to be able to lay on the grass with
the daisies beside me for company and relax.

Because lately I've been made of
hammering hearts,
bruised rib cages,
suffocating lungs and
melancholy thoughts.

As I am laying there I could imagine my sadness
seeping out of me into the grass sprouting more of
the daisies that could finally be freed from my clutches.

I just want to watch them as they
gently sway in the breeze that kisses
my cheeks and takes away my pain.

And I'd whisper a soft,
"thank you."
