C H A P T E R S I X
THIS time, Mark didn't feel coldness around his body waking up. He didn't open his eyes to see a empty spot next to him, and he inhaled a smokey yet vanilla smell.
Instead, Mark felt arms wrapped around him, holding him close to a bold chest. Mark opened his eyes slowly to see sun kissed skin in front of him. He felt his cheeks heat up slowly, feeling the arms low on his waist, and snug around his curves. Mark then jolts when he hears a voice speak above him.
"Good morning." A hoarse voice says, and Mark is flustered at how low it is.
"Morning." He whispers softly, hiding his face in the others chest. He hears the other chuckle lowly as it vibrates through his ears.
"Hey, we have a meet up today. We gotta get up." Haechan says, and hosts himself up to his elbow. Mark groans as the feeling of warmth is gone, and slowly stretches. Haechan cooes as he watches the other.
A small smirk then makes way to Haechan's lips.
"What?" Mark asks, noticing the change in the air.
Haechan says nothing, instead he moves to his knees, and suddenly starts attacking Mark by his sides. Mark instantly yells in shock, but a smile makes way to his face.
"S-stop! Haechan!" Mark yells as he laughs. Haechan finally stops as he looks down at the other with a wide smile, putting both hands on either side of the other as he hovers over him.
Haechan's eyes go soft as he takes in the other. Mark is panting as he has a tired smile on his face, fluffy hair covering his forehead and some his right eye.
Haechan lifts a hand as he brushes it out of his face, tucking it behind the others ear. He then slowly slides it across the others cheek, and rest his thumb on Mark's bottom lip. Mark's breath shallows the slightest as the other leans down slowly.
Their lips brush up against one another's, before connecting into a deep kiss. Mark wraps his arms around the others neck slowly, feeling soft lips on his own. The kiss deepens itself, and suddenly their fighting for dominance. Their bodies press against each other's, and Haechan pulls the blanket away from them. Is hand slithers it's way under Mark's shirt, and caresses the soft skin underneath. Haechan runs his and up and down the others side, feeling the curves and squeezing it lightly here and there.
They pull away for air, Mark gasping as he feels the hand run over his chest. Haechan kisses his jaw, and leans closer to his neck. Mark feels kisses being placed across it, and Haechan travels lower as he gets to his exposed collarbone. Mark gasps as he feels teeth sink into his skin, and gives a light breathy moan.
Haechan pulls away slowly, and looks up at Mark.
"I would take you right here, right now doll." Haechan whispers lowly, and Mark wanted nothing else more in the world for him to.
"But I won't, because I already promised Taeyong I'd be there. He'd kill me if I didn't show up." Haechan mumbled the last part, and Mark gave a huff.
"Then why would you tease me." Mark whined.
"Because, it's fun." Haechan admitted, and got off of Mark.
"I hate you." Mark said flatly, watching the other walk to the bathroom.
"That's a lie, and you and I both know so." Haechan said, closing the door to the bathroom.
Mark only huffed, but couldn't help a small smile find its way to his face.
He then scrunched his nose in embarrassment as he hid his face in the pillow.
Mark was holding onto Haechan as they rode to the hang out spot, which was actually at a bar. The building was medium sized, and even though the colors were faded it was all covered by some graffiti. Mark thought it was a perfect place for a bunch of motorcyclist.
Haechan rode up to the building, parking beside many other motorcycles. They both got off, and Mark followed the other in. Mark was familiar with most of the other motorcyclist now, and was great friends with boys Jeno and Chenle.
When they walked inside, Mark's eye caught them sitting with their boyfriends. The rest of the gang was at one table, and Mark gave a small smile as they walked over. He proceeds to sit with them, and they talk.
Haechan, on the other hand, called the others over and they all clotted by the bar. There they sat down, and Haechan watched Mark laugh and talk with the others.
"I heard what happened, he's lucky he got outta there." Jaemin said, looking over at Haechan as he followed his gaze.
"Yea, but I'm still angered." Haechan admitted as he rubbed a hand on his nape, giving a sigh.
"Why?" Jaemin asked while his eyes were caught on a smiley faced boy who just happened to be his boyfriend.
"Because, Mark told me that Seung told him something." Haechan said, "He said that he told him to remember his name, he'll be hearing it often."
"That's weird." Jaemin said, raising his eyebrow. "So, you and Mark dating yet?"
"I honestly don't know." Haechan said with a eyebrow raise.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Jaemin asks sassily.
"I mean I don't know! I mean— we've made out..." Haechan trails off, "He said he loved me."
"Did you say it back?" Jisung interferes.
"Of course!" Haechan says back in disbelief.
"Did you mean it?" Jaemin cuts off.
"Yes! Of course I meant it." Haechan says in a irritated voice.
"Wow, so Markhyuck is official." Jisung says.
"Markhyuck?" Haechan questions the new word.
"Chenle made it up, it's you and Mark's name together. 'A ship name' he calls it." Jisung states.
"Thats...interesting." Haechan says.
"Who tops?" Jaemin asks, eyes open in excitement.
"Jaemin shut—"
"Hey! We've got company!" A man yells as he burst through the door, and all heads turn towards him. Haechan stands up as he walks over to the doors, and Mark catches up as he follows close behind.
The rest of the people follow, and some stay to not get interference with chaos.
They step out, and that's when Mark feels his anger rise as he sees that familiar face again. He furrows his eyebrows, making eye contact with him.
"I can see I'm not very welcome here." Seung says, having a teasing smile towards Mark. Followed by a quick wink. Mark notices Seungs not alone either, there's a whole group behind him.
"What do you want?" Haechan spats, pulling out a cigarette as he lights it.
"I just have a friendly announcement." Seung says, giddy filled in his voice.
"Yea? What is it?" Jaemin yells.
"Well, it seems the outsiders have been watching us from afar. They seem to not like us, so their having a protest to get rid of us." Seung says.
"I don't see how this a friendly announcement." Haechan says, blowing smoke from his mouth.
"We haven't even gotten to the good part." Seung says, and then his face slowly flattens. Still a small smile rest.
"We have to work together to keep our turfs." Seung states, and everyone exchanges glances.
A moment of silence goes around, some whispers here and there but nothing to be shared out loud. Mark stares up at Haechan, and can recognize his thinking face. His distrustful aurora, and feels uneasy.
"So your telling me, if we work together, then we can keep our turf?" Haechan asks in disbelief.
"That's exactly what I'm saying." Seung says.
"How do you plan to do this?" Jaemin asks.
"By going to fight of course." Seung says casually.
"Fight? Who?" Jisung says with a confused face.
"The police, who else." It was more like a statement than a question.
"Why don't we just compromise?" Mark speaks up, and Seung looks right at him. Mark's blood runs cold at the look.
"Because sweet heart, they don't like us. They hate us to be exact. The only way to keep our land is to show whose boss." Seung says in a soft voice, evil hinted in it.
Mark looks away from his gaze, and looks up to Haechan for help. Haechan has a cigarette in his hand, held up to his lips, but not moving.
"Haechan?" Jaemin looks over, and Haechan finally looks up to make eye contact with Seung.
"Fine, we're in." Haechan says, defeat toned. Mark widened his eyes in shock.
"Well then, I guess we better start being good friends from now on." Seung jokes. "See you guys at the court house tomorrow!" Seung yells, before roaring his bike as he leads his gang away.
"Haechan, are you kidding me!?" Mark shoves Haechan the slightest to make him face him. Haechan shows no signs. Instead he throws down his cigarette and looks up to meet Mark's gaze.
"We have to Mark—" He tries to explain calmly.
"No we don't! There's no need for violence Haechan!" Mark argues.
"Mark we cant lose our turf!" Haechan explains, furrowing his eyebrows as he stares at the other.
"I know but we don't have to fight! We can compromise!" Mark disagrees, his heart bursting with plead and anger.
"He was right Mark! Nobody likes us! It's just us against the world, and them!" Haechan raises his voice as he signals with his hand the other way.
The others have gone inside now, seeing the argument heat up.
"We don't have to use violence Haechan! Where will it get us? They won't just give up!" Mark gets closer, trying his best to explain. The plead in his voice expressed.
"It's not a choice Mark!" Haechan yells.
Mark stares at the other, his eyes watery. He feels his heart hurt, so bad to the point where it physically does.
"Violence is always a choice." Mark's voice is bitter and small, he walks closer to point a finger at Haechan's chest.
"It's yours." Mark whispers.
He then turns around swiftly and walks away, without turning back he keeps walking. Haechan is left with his head hanging down, his mind being pressured to just make a decision that he can't.
He wants to run to Mark, and stop him from leaving. He also wants to walk away as well though, and just turn his back on the world. He doesn't know anymore.
He looks up, in hope to see Mark still walking away. Instead he sees no one. Not a single shadow.
Mark was gone.
