━ Sienna Stuart is confident she's becoming exactly who she's always wanted to be. She's conquered both her undergrad and graduate education at NYU, and she's fully shed her insecure, naive midwestern persona (and even shed her real name, Mary, but don't tell anyone that). Sienna has carefully crafted herself to be the chic and successful New Yorker she imagined, and she's finally starting to settle in at her dream job at one of the city's best PR firms, Hudson Entertainment. Her first major account? Newly reformed metal band, The Green Inferno.

Frontman and lead singer Devon McCall is classically trained, musically gifted, and painfully sarcastic. He isn't keen on transitioning his band's music into something a little less hardcore and a little more mainstream (even though his vocal cord surgery has almost demanded it), and he's even less keen on Sienna hanging around and managing their PR and social media, despite the band's manager insisting upon it. Devon is only interested in finding his sound (and himself) again while navigating his estranged relationship with his family, and Sienna's presence begins to disrupt that.

When Sienna accompanies the band on a big New England tour as they open for a prominent rock band, her forced proximity with Devon's head-to-toe tattooed body isn't the only thing making her head spin. The more exposed she is to Devon's voice - gruff and pitchy but somehow ethereal at the same time - the more it feels like he's hitting all the high notes in her life, and slowly starting to crack the surface of who Sienna really is.

this story is really just born of my love for metal music. it shaped my teenage years, even when i thought i was just being a poser and trying to impress the guy i had a crush on who was the lead singer in a screamo band, and it continues to empower me in my 30s. (& some little callbacks to my old stranger things fic, love and miss u all the time)

& as always, pls pls pls no fandom references of any kind! this is a safe/positive space, and any comments that i feel violate that (either for myself or readers) will be called out, deleted & potentially blocked <3

additionally, this is a first draft, and i am not looking for constructive criticism at this time. we're just here to have fun.
