Chapter 5: The Glass Room of Video Games

After we finished up in Game Galaxy, we decided to tour around the mall for a little bit. We stopped by random shops just to see what was inside. I didn't really buy anything, except for a cool pair of sunglasses.

We were about to leave, when Grace decided that she had to use the restroom, so I figured that would be a perfect time to enter in Bailey's phone number real quick. Though I probably should have done it somewhere else, because me trying to hide it brought up the attention of the guys really quickly.

"Hey Ryan what are you doing over there!" They ran over to me, and I quickly shut off my phone and stuffed it in my pocket.

"Nothing, just uh checking my Clash of Clans!"

"Were you watching porn?" Jawan shot me a suspicious look.

"Nah Jawan he was checking his Coc." Matt winked at me.

"If you were checking your Clash of Clans," Jawan made air quotes. "then let me see your base."

"Nah I'm kinda bad-Hey!" Matt ran over and snatched the phone out of my pocket. I didn't have a passcode on it, because before today I felt like there wasn't a need for one.

"He's creating a contact for a girl named Bailey! Is that the girl we saw at the video game

store?"

"Probably!" Jawan grabbed the phone. "Let's send her a message!" Oh god. "To Bailey, I wanna fuck you so badly, signed Ryan, the kid you met at the gaming store!"

"No!" I shoved Jawan back and grabbed my phone. We are not doing that! And where the hell is Grace!?"

"Who knows what girls do in the bathroom." Matt shrugged. "Probably getting a masturbating or something."

"Oh."

"Hi!" Grace came out of the bathroom with a smile on her face.

"Told you. Once she finished she was a whole new person!" Matt shook his head. "You never know with girls."

"Uh yeah... Can we just go now?" I started to inch away from Matt.

"Yeah we're going to Jawan's house." Grace pulled out her phone. "I'll lead the way!" Once we were out of the mall, and the three of them got into a conversation about who knows what, I sent a text to Bailey.

-Me: Hi! This is the kid you met at the video game store! My name is Ryan btw

-Bailey: oh aloha! What's up?

-Me: Just heading over to my friends house

-Bailey: you have friends? Weird. Anyways, I know this might seem kinda weird, but me and some friends are heading over to the lake tomorrow. Would you wanna come? I mean you don't have to, since we just met, but still!

-Me: No it's fine! Can I bring my friends?

-Bailey: Sure ^-^

"Aha!" Grace grabbed my phone and smiled. "So you and mystery girl are going to the lake? Juicy."

"You guys are also coming, and it's not just her. She's bringing friends." I took my phone back. These people really need to work on their habit of taking other people's stuff.

"I can read smarty pants!"

"Yeah whatever." Jawan opened up the door to his house, "Now let's get our game on!"

*+*+*+*+*+*+*

"Hello there! What's your name?" A middle aged lady approached me. She looked like Jawan, so she was probably his mom.

"I'm Ryan! I just moved here." I reached out and shook her hand.

"That's great Ryan! Well I'm going to leave you to your business. Holler if you need me!" I nodded and we headed downstairs to where I was hoping had all the gaming stuff.

Jawan's house was actually very big, even though it didn't look that way from the outside. The set-up was kinda weird, with there being a upstairs for just bedrooms, a downstairs where the

living room was, then a lower downstairs where all the gaming stuff was.

The gaming room was... Amazing. They had a small bar area, but when I went to check out what they had, I only saw soda's and chips. There was a fridge that held tons of snacks, and even a soda machine. There was a small cabinet that was filled to the brim with snacks and more.

The gaming part was great. Bean bag chairs and those fancy gaming chairs. There was a large TV, and connected to it was about every gaming console. I looked for where the games would be, since the TV was mounted and I gasped. He had a small room just for games. It had a glass wall, and rows and rows of games, from Atari games, to Xbox one games.

"Yeah that's our collection." Jawan started rubbing the wall off the room. "This is where we put every game we have ever bought. Ever."

"I can tell."

"So," Matt jumped onto one of the couches. "Now what?"

"Ryan do you have a laptop?" Jawan headed over to the section where he had his computer. I didn't notice this before, but like everything else in this house, this was one of the best computers I have seen.

"Yeah, but it's nothing too fancy..."

"So? Go get it! I can log you onto my steam account and you can get all of my games!" Jawan grabbed one of his laptops and showed me the games he has. "I have everything from Advanced Warfare (<-- This game sucks. Never buy it) ((My editor said that ;-;))to GTA 5!"

"Fine." I took in a deep breath. "I'll be right back. And I'm not even sure if this is legal!" I headed back up the two flights of stairs and back to my house. It was finally getting dark out, and it was getting cold.

That's one thing I liked about California. It was nice and warm all the time. Though I'm hearing in the news that they are running out of water, so I'm kinda glad I'm here now. I like having water.

When I opened the door, I was hit with a blast of warm air, and the smell of vegetables hit me. I just realized this, but I hadn't eaten dinner yet. Maybe Jawan's mom will have something, and if not they have all those snacks.

I headed up to my room and started looking for my laptop. It was some Asus gaming laptop that my uncle got me for my birthday. He actually works with Asus, so he got a sweet deal.

When I couldn't find it, I decided to check the only other place it could be. With my parents. My mom and dad like to randomly take my stuff and use it like it's their own and it really bugs me. Don't touch my stuff!

"Mom! Did you take my laptop?"

"Why are you shouting through the house?! Come down here!"

I jogged down to my mom, and sure enough it was sitting there on the kitchen counter with some instructions open for some cooking thing open.

"Mom I'm gonna need this back. My friends have some cool things they need to put on it."

"I don't approve of that Ryan," My mom crossed her arms and have me a stern look. "They could be pirating things! That's illegal!"

"No, not like that! They'd be putting anti virus stuff on there," I did a quick nod in hopes that she would go with it.

"Fine, but you better make sure it's trusted. I don't want any Feds coming to our door."

"No mom that won't happen!" I grabbed my laptop and headed out of the room.

"It better not!"

*+*+*+*+*+*

My laptop is now amazing. It has every game I have ever wanted, as well as an improvement in the ram and graphics card. I didn't even know you could upgrade that type of stuff on a laptop, but Jawan knew how.

Eventually, i got a call from my mom saying it was time to come home. Oh and by the way, they did get me a cool antivirus/security program, so I didn't completely lie. Completely.

"So we'll see you tomorrow morning?" Jawan asked.

I just nodded.

"Got it! See ya Ryan!"
