Chapter 6: Lost
"Tim, breakfast is ready!" I heard my mother shout from the kitchen. I slowly got up from bed and realized that I'm back in my room. Looking in my mirror, I could see that I'm still human. No navy blue fur, tail, or anything that resembles a wolf on me. I breath in deep and out again.
"Must of been a nightmare." I told my reflection. I entered the kitchen to see my mother and father alive and waiting at the table. A small tear ran down my cheek with a smile on my face. "Good morning mom and dad."
"Good morning son, come eat with us." My father invited me. I sat down across from them. I stared at my plate to see my favorite dish. Bacon and cheese omelette with waffles. "It's a big day for you so I made your favorite." My mother said with a gentle smile.
'That's right, today is the tournament at school.' I finished my food and got dressed. I wore blue jeans with a white T-shirt.
I walked towards my parents who waited for me at the entrance. "I'm so glad I have you as my parents." I hug them both. "We're glad that you are our son." They returned the hug.
"Promise me that you'll be here when I get back?" I asked them. I waited for a response but they stayed silent. Their grip around me loosen and they seem to go limp.
I looked up to see their faces blank and pale. They were cold and stiff. "No." I whisper. "No." I could feel tears runing down my cheeks as my vision blurred. "No no no no no!" I sobbed into my deceased parents clothes hoping that their warmth would return to sooth my thoughts and tell me that this is all a bad dream.
I tighten my grip around them to kept them close. To try and revive them. But I was to tight and they both crumbled to chunks then to dust.
I woke up to painful coughs and a fever. "That's right, I'm in a hole in a cave." I remember the events that led up to this. "I need to get back." I slowly climb out of the hole and continued my descent to the cave floor.
The cave was dimly lit with a small stream flowing through. There was traces of foot prints in the mud that looked rather old. Following them could lead to a exit or even food. But there is the chance of a dead end. I sat down to think my choices over carefully.
I decided to follow the prints. They followed the flow of the stream till I came across a problem. The path split into four corridors. The prints that I was following faded away to nothing.
"Which path to chose?" I looked at each one trying to see if there was light at the end. Each one was completely dark. There were no sounds coming from them either. I decided to take the first path.
After a few minutes of fumbling in the pitch black dark of the hallway, I slam into a wall. "Damn it, a dead end." I turned around to make my way back. Half way through I came across another fork in the road. Not knowing which one I came through, I went through the left one. This continued on till I was lost going through several wrong turns.
"Damn it! What I'm I going to do now!" I shout. I slide to the floor and wait for either a idea or help to arrive. Which ever comes first I suppose.
To be continued
Author Note:
Hi, I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
I wonder how this will turn out in the next chapter. May a certain dragon boy and fox girl comes to the rescue, or it could be someone else. Who knows.
Anyway, I decided to update this story every Saturday. Try to get on a schedule to be more efficient.
Well that's about it for now.
Cya!
