I opened my eyes to see paws where my hands use to be. I started to freak out a little, hoping this was a dream, but that idea shattered when drops of water hit the paws. I felt it. It was a glass of water that fell to the floor.

"I'm sorry we kept this a secret from you son..." My father told me.

"W-why are y-you so c-calm?" I asked him with my broken voice. I guess the transformation also changed that too.

"............." He didn't give me an answer. I try to stand but with the new placement of the bones, it was hard to keep balance very long. While I was figuring out how to stand and walk, my mother left the living room for the kitchen for some reason. I guess she didn't want to see her only child infected by a virus that was her job to cure.

I managed to regain my balance after a few attempts. I just realized that I had a tail. I looked back to see a long semi fluffy tail. I gasped in surprise and felt up and down my body. I was covered in fur. I was a wolf. I wasn't just a wolf, I was a navy blue wolf. I sat down on the couch and accidentally sat on my tail. I yipped and moved my tail to the side.

My father got up and joined my mother in the kitchen. It seems she's cooking. I can smell the meat cooking, the peppers, lettuce, tomato, and other ingredients. My mother was making steak sandwiches.

Alexa smelled the meat too since she woke up from her nap. "Is that-" she didn't get to finish her sentience since her stomach growled questionably loud. "S-sorry!" She apologized.

She looked me over, examining my newly formed body, and then she looked away a little worried. "Uh....um...cough...you should put clothes on..." She told me.

I tilted my head and widen my eyes when i realized that my clothes ripped off while my body changed. I felt my cheeks redden in embarrassment as I ran to my room to put clothes on.

After searching through all my dressers and looking in my closet, I couldn't find any pants or shorts or even underwear that were comfortable to wear. It was the tail and the fur that was the problem! I huffed in frustration and looked in my closet once more. I found a robe that had a rip where the tail would go. I smiled slightly. This would have to do.

Alexa was now sitting at the table with my parents waiting for me so we can eat. The robe I wore was grey and was very comfortable. It also looked like it was used by mages in those fantasy movies.

Mother was still wiping small tears away while father looked depressed. I went and sat next to Alexa, who was now eating, and started to eat my food. Thirty minutes later, there was a knock at the door. Both my parents flinched. "This is Captain Vern of the extermination unit. Open up now!" A deep sinister voice roared. Alexa froze in place as if she saw something traumatizing.

"Elena take him and the girl to the room." Dad whispered to mom. Mother nods her head and picks Alexa up. I follow her to my room.

I could hear yelling and things breaking from my closet. Mom left me and Alexa in the closet so she can go help dad.

"Why are you here?!" I hear my father yell. "You have no business to be here!"

"Oh but we do." The sinister voice said. "We have reports that a fox and a wolf were living here."

I froze in place like Alexa as I felt chills up my spine. She wasn't even blinking anymore when she heard that. Our fur were standing up as we thought of what they'll do to us. I heard a gasp from my mother and a frustrated grunt from my father. 'T-they're here for us! They're here for us!' I start panicking.

"We also know they're in your son's room." A rush of fear was sent to us as we start to sweat from the tension. "We'll be retrieving our targets now."

I took Alexa's paw and ran out of the closet. I'm blinded by fear that I ran into the hallway instead of making way for my window. I ran down the hall towards the living room to escape the doomed future that awaited us.

We were in the living now, everyone looking right at us. I saw the bloodlust in their eyes which sent chills again. "Ah this must be them." That man with the sinister voice stated as he looked back at my parents. "You lied to me." After he said that, one of his henchman brought up their gun and shot both of them.

I watched in horror as my parents screamed and fell to the ground, their blood spraying everywhere. By the time the shooting stopped, I was already on my knees with tears running down my face.

"Aww look at him. He's enjoying the show!" The sinister man laughed. His henchmen laughed with him. "Cage them." I saw Alexa being roughly picked up and thrown into a steel cage. Her body curled up into a ball as she started to cry. Next I was picked up, more roughly than Alexa, and had some kind of collar put around my neck. I started to thrash when I felt a huge amount of pain come from the collar. It was a shock collar.

"S...s.on.." I hear my father's dying word. "S...ur..vive." I started crying over my mother's dying word. I got shocked by the collar again, but it was more painful. I blacked out from the third shock.

I woke up in a very dim room. I wanted to hold my head for the massive headache I have but chains on my arms didn't let me. There were also chains on my legs too.

All of the chains were short, meant to keep me in one place. The room was large enough to extend the chains by maybe 3ft?

I decided not too move to much since it'll just hurt me. Looking throughout the room, I found that there was 1 door, 1 camera, and 1 vent. I made a choice to call out for Alexa to see if she was nearby.

"Alexa?" I somewhat yelled. Well it was more of a whisper.

"Alexa!" I actually yelled this time. I waited a few minutes with no response.

I start to tear up when I remember what happened before I blacked out. "It sniff it can't be true..." I try to convince myself that it didn't happen. "It..ca-" I let my tear flow as I cried out loud for the lost of my parents.

In command center

Normal POV

The captain of the extermination team, Vern, has successfully captured two infected children and brutally murdered one of the infected children's parents. "Sir! Wolf 043 has awaken sir!" Vern's underling, Phil, reported as live footage played on the screen. The screen showed Wolf 043 crying and trying to curl up into a ball.

"Perfect. Shock him." Vern replied as Wolf 043 screams in agony on the screen.

"Sir! Fox 078 is escaping Sir!" Vern's underling, Bob, said with great importance.

"Shock her too!" Fox 078 fell out of the vent and shrieked with pain.

"Sir! We have a breach!" Both Phil and Bob yelled. "What?!?!?!" Vern turned his attention to the entrance monitor.
