Pas de Deux
"No, no no no that is a BAD IDEA!" Ruby screamed out. "We're NOT doing that!"
"Ruby, we have to. She knows where we are, she knows we're the last ones alive, she KNOWS how to GET TO US DAMMIT!"
Ruby shuddered slightly, looking back towards the others. Bubble and Ice Cube were inside of the van, trying to console Pencil, who was curled up in the back corner. Her eyes were widened in horror; bags hung heavily under them as she was completely out of the zone.
Ruby looked back towards Book. "A-..Are you sure..I mean, we aren't- we're- we're weak, Book.." her eyes began to water. "Bubble's fragile, Ice Cube could be shattered, who knows if she has the strength to snap Pencil in half, a-and..and-"
"Ruby." Book placed her hands on her shoulders, tilting her head upwards a bit. "Listen to me. We can beat her. We know who Pin really is. We can work together, we can put an END to this! But we have to be brave. We can either live right now, and watch as each one of us falls under the edge of her trowel, or we can fight- avenge everyone we lost, and keep living ourselves.."
Ruby wiped her eyes shakily. "B-..But what are we gonna do if we beat her..?"
"We work. We free everyone from the TLC, and we find a way to fix up the recovery center. I'm sure GB had some notes and prints about it.."
Book then gently cupped her hands around Ruby's face, bringing them closer together..
"..but no matter what happens.. I promise, with all of my paged heart, that I'll protect you..okay..?"
Ruby hesitated, but slowly began to nod, letting her eyes close at Book's touch. She smiled, leaning in and giving her forehead a gentle kiss.
"Okay..now, all we have to do is-"
"Move."
The dull voice made Book jump, as all eyes turned towards the slouching figure, watching as she slowly began to make her way out of the van. Book rushed over towards the door.
"Woah woah woah, and where do you think you're going?" Book asked, sternly placing her arms in front of Pencil. Pencil's glance was still out of it all, as she slowly pushed Book's arms out of her way.
"Move, Book. I..I can't do it." She muttered. "I'm going to kill that bitch."
"Pencil, she could easily overpower you. I don't think-"
"SCREW WHATEVER YOU THINK. I'm going to END that bitch. She deserves to SUFFER after what she did to...to.." her gaze began to move upwards, as she began to space out once more.
Book crossed her arms. "Pencil, she's going to hurt you. We can do this together, okay?"
"SO WHAT?! She's killed off groups! Didn't you see how she took on Spongy?! Nickel?! BOMBY?! Even TB and GB, the smartest out of all of us!"
"I-..I know, Pencil, but if we work together, we can find-"
"We're not finding shit anymore." Pencil looked up. "Match..is gone...I..I LOVED her..."
"I-I know Pencil, and I'm so sorry-"
"I was forced...to watch her BURN in front of me...I-I can't just sit idly by and wait for Pin to pull another trick like that." She stepped out, slowly standing up straight..
"..I'm avenging Match. No matter what happens. I want her to pay."
The tone that she had spoke in made a shiver run down everyone's spine. Book reached out, but before she could say anything...
Pencil walked off.
"Pencil! Pencil, wait!" Ruby called out, beginning to rush after the taller figure. But, she stopped in her tracks after a hand gently gripped her shoulder.
"Ruby, just..let her go."
"Book, we have to get her! She's gonna-"
"She isn't going to listen. I can't imagine how hard it must be for her right now.." Book sighed out, looking towards the ground. Ruby hesitated, before she clasped her hands together nervously, watching her as she walked further and further away from the van.
"Oh..Pencil.." Ruby whispered. "Please...stay safe.."
Book looked towards the side.
I doubt it.
Pin sat in the lab, her eyes closed as she reminisced over all the events that had taken place earlier. Each murder was beginning to take a toll on her, and she simply needed some time to rest.
To breathe.
She had already done what she needed to do. The scientists limbs were in a small bag beside her, as well as Match's steaming arms that she had managed to rip off during the whole fiasco. All she had to do now was plant them in her garden; and then, she would be nearly complete.
Killing nearly the entire population of contestants in IDFB?
Incredible.
But she was becoming more dreary, more exhausted, more vulnerable to those cursed hallucinations.
She sat on a chair, pondering about how she would handle the remaining survivors of the city. Each one of them were incredibly unique in one way or another, and so she had to plan out how she could succeed in ending their lives in the most ruthless, yet satisfying way possible.
But yet, as she continued to ponder through her hellish thoughts, something continued to slither back into her mind...
Those...ghosts.
She didn't want to call those fuckers ghosts, they appeared out of nowhere, and...depending on who it was, they'd either stare, or...attempt to attack.
Pin abhorred it all. It made her realize that she was becoming vulnerable to all, and that her mental state was rapidly deteriorating. So, she had no choice but to take a break.
But this didn't stop her from planning.
She brushed her fingers against the edges of the bloodied saw, continuing to doze off in her mind...
Pin.
Her eyes widened. She took a deep breath, and rubbed her temples, mumbling out towards herself.
"There's no one there, Pin." She exclaimed. "It's all in your goddamn head. Just relax."
A few moments passed..
...nothing.
She loosened up, placing her head down onto the counter as she continued to ponder through her thoughts...
How about...melting?
No, no, too simple. Plus, haven't we already done that to someone?
Well, technically, she burned alive, but-
Yes..I did.
Pin slammed her fist against the table and looked up.
"Alright, who's doing it?! WHO THE HELL IS DOING IT?!" She screamed.
Nothing.
There was...nothing.
Pin clenched her fists angrily and sat back down, slowly trying to get back to planning, yet seeing if it would happen again.
"...How about dismemberment?"
You've already been doing that.
Oh my Pin Factory, are you serious right now?! I thought you were BETTER than this, Pin.
"I AM." She hissed out. "I just...I just need some time to figure this all-"
You have all the time in the world...now that most of us are dead.
"STOP!" Pin jumped up, grabbing the saw and frantically waving it around.
"...Do it again...I d a r e you-"
Wow. Such a threat. We thought you were...smarter.
Smarter than me...smarter than TB..
Are you becoming...weak...?
"I'm not becoming SHIT." She growled, holding the saw close.
"The fuck are you all doing this for?! Just GO. You're DEAD, be at PEACE or-"
Be at...peace.
You expect us to "be at peace"?
You...burned me alive.
She poisoned me.
...she slaughtered me.
We all suffered in the most brutal way imaginable, each outcome being different to each one of us, and what will finally make all of us "be at peace", is when you suffer as equally as we did.
Pin rolled her eyes. "Uh, Yeah, good luck with that."
Are you...questioning our ability?
"I'm questioning your ability to shut up and get the hell out of here." She snapped.
It all went silent, simply for a moment, until the saw was yanked out from Pin's grip, and tossed across the room. It fell with a loud clangor, ringing within Pin's head.
We've been waiting for this day...
A l l of us..
Pin tried to make a dash towards the door, but it quickly slammed shut, locking her inside of the room. She frantically tried to pry it open, but it simply wouldn't budge.
Suddenly, something yanked her away from the door, causing her to yelp. She quickly scrambled back towards the table, and looked around, panting heavily in fear.
"St-..Stay AWAY FROM ME!"
Funny...
A cold force began to grip at her head, slamming her against the glass table and beginning to put pressure on her head. Pin winced, her eyes beginning to sting with tears as she could feel the table beginning to crack from the pressure being put down upon it. She gritted her teeth, as her eyes began to sting with tears...
You feel this...right?
You're heart...pounding so fast, you feel like it could burst at any moment...
"S-STOP...." She gasped out.
You know...we were so much like you...
We wanted to escape the frigid hands of death..
And yet..you merely shoved us deeply into the palms...tossing us away as if we were a joke to you...
Cracks began to permeate through the glass, as Pin could feel her head at the brink of bursting. She tried reaching out for the saw...
But what use would that make?
We've waited...we've planned..
And now...you're coming down with us..
Not even with us. You'll be coming down, of course...down into the hottest flames of hell.
Pin shut her eyes..
Pencil held the crowbar tightly within her hands. She began to observe her surroundings, slowly opening the door towards the lab.
She wasn't stupid.
She could see the bloodied trail that Pin had left behind..that blood..
Match's blood...
Her eyes began to water, as she looked around once more.
Find her, and end her. It's so goddamn simple..
then why was she shaking..
She was strong. She took out the entire cast of the show, in the span of a few months...
But she TOOK her. INTERROGATED HER.
WHY DID SHE FEEL SO GODDAMN TINY?!
SHE COULD TAKE HER DOWN, SHE COULD-..
...Match..
Ugh. Enough of this sappy crap. Just kill her.
She continued to walk down the steps of the lab, until a faint scream, and the shattering of glass echoed through out the facility. Pencil squinted, slowing down and cautiously looking around, making sure there was no unexpected jump scares...or traps...that Pin could have created.
As she moved forward, a metal door that was ajar caught her eye immediately. It clicked into her mind instantly, as she kicked open the door and brandished the crowbar. But when she looked around...
Nothing.
Well...a small table, with the glass broken and shards scattered everywhere..a small bag...a counter, with a bloodied saw-
Wait, bloodied saw?
But, wasn't that the one that...
"Shit." Pencil muttered, looking around and trying to find her in the room. She expected her to be hiding...she seemed to be shockingly clever, but...
No...
There she was...shards of glass jammed into her head, as she stood in front of a white board that Golfball had. A map of the entire city was spread on the board, notes scribbled in certain areas with a red marker. A few of the little houses on the map were crossed off heavily, some of the ink dripping down the page as Pencil observed closely.
One of the houses had a small, green patch that resembled a small garden. Pin stared blankly at the little house with the garden..and uncapped the marker, pressing the marker down on it and slowly scribbling it out of existence.
Fries's house.
Pencil winced, as she raised the crowbar into the air, approaching her..
"...It was all worth it."
What?
Pencil's eyebrows furrowed together, as she stepped closer towards her.
"My garden...it has never "thrived", before...no garden has ever." She continued to scribble on the map, scribbling out Gelatin's house.
"But..now, it thrives, and it has given me the will power to continue to move forward, and gather everything that I would need to make it possible. And, in this case, that would be..hands." She glanced towards Pencil, hovering the marker over the little drawing of the recovery center..
And beside that..?
A drawing of the freesmart van.
A heavy silence hung over the two as Pin slowly pressed the marker onto the paper, drawing a line that crossed over the drawing. She pressed harder and harder, watching Pencil's face morph into a expression of fear. This made her giggle.
Pencil shook her head, and raised the crowbar, gritting her teeth in fury.
"YOU AREN'T GOING TO HURT US!"
She brought the crowbar down, and Pin swiftly stepped out of the way, watching as the crowbar smash against the board. She looked towards Pencil, her face vacant...
Pencil, on the other hand, swung the crowbar madly, screaming in frustration as Pin swiftly and quickly stepped out of the way, avoiding each blow.
"STOP IT! STOP!" She raised the bar up, and swiftly brought it down...
But what made her heart stop, was when Pin simply grabbed the crowbar, staring intensely into Pencil's eyes. She quickly looked down, and kicked her in the stomach, sending her flying across the room. She crashed against the table, yelling in pain as she felt her back crack slightly.
Pin watched her writher in pain, before she slowly began to walk towards the counter. She looked down, and grabbed the saw, clenching it tightly as she was prepared for a fight.
"It's just the two of us." Pin mumbled, numbly. Pencil shook her head...grabbing the crowbar with a trembling hand.
"..pas de deux."
Pin raised her eyebrow. "What?"
"Pas de deux..." Pencil looked up.. "N-Not two...not two of us.."
Memories of Match began to flood through Pencil's mind, hearing those words on repeat, such as a broken record..
"Pas de deux!"
"Pas...de...duxe..?"
"Pas de deux! It means, like...not two of us..but one.." She smiled, taking Pencil's hands.
Pencil felt a flustered smile grow on her face, as she leaned in and gave her a soft peck on her cheek..
Her eyes snapped open.
Fury.
"...are you done." Pin whispered. "I have to-"
Her words were cut off, as Pencil slammed the crowbar against her head. She collapsed onto the ground, screaming slightly as she could feel her head gushing out blood..
Pencil stood over her, growling.
"PAS DE DEUX, BITCH!"
