Its Raining, Its Pouring...
"I MANAGED TO MAKE A HOLE!"
"You did?!"
"Well....its a bit, small-"
Angry grunts filled the metal box, as the objects glumly collapsed back into their spots, the remaining hope that they had quickly disintegrating. Saw huffed, as she looked up at the hole she had managed to cut through, after months and months of doing so.
It was tiny. Tiny enough to let Firey Jr. Pass through, but...
"FINALLY! I'M FREE!"
The sudden voice made everyone jump, as they looked up. They noticed the figure quickly squeezing out of the small hole, and soon, everyone began to speak at once.
"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOUR GOING?!"
"COME BACK HERE!"
"HELP US OUT!"
The object turned around, and panicked as everyone began to gather around and try to stop them from leaving. But...this didn't stop them from squeezing out of the small hole, happily stretching and zooming around.
"I'm...free! I'M FREE!" They cried out happily, as they began to make their way back towards...
Wait, towards where?
They paused and looked around, trying to absorb the surrounding areas. Rain was pouring down onto the earth, but this didn't stop them; they had to find their way back to the other contestants.
After looking around, they saw...a city?
City, means civilization. And that means...
They quickly dashed upwards, and flew out of the area, leaving the disgruntled and angry shouts of the others behind them.
"Page 234: Yoyle-Insects." Ruby read out loud, as they walked through the forest. She kept Book open, as she held her in her arms. Book, on the other hand, was feeling the world around her shift and spin quickly; she wasn't used to being opened for a long period of time like this. But, she managed, just so she could help the team out.
Umbrellas were raised in the air, as the rain continued to pelt down onto the ground and the umbrellas. They had decided to search for the bugs quickly; they didn't want to waste another minute. Otherwise, someone...
No. No more deaths, no more murders.
They could do this.
"Okay, so it says here that the bugs can be found by the clearing over...there!" Ruby pointed towards a small clearing, which also had the....
"The TLC?"
"Oh man, I feel bad for them already. Well...not so much, because they can't go in there..." Gelatin shivered at the thought.
Ruby flipped through the pages, until a small piece of paper slipped out of her, and collapsed onto the ground. Ruby tilted her head in confusion.
What was that doing inside of her?
Ruby gently put Book down, and gave her the umbrella to help shield her from the rain. She leaned in, and gave her a tiny kiss on her forehead, caressing her arm gently.
"Stay here, ok? We'll get the bugs, we'll be okay.." she whispered. Book giggled a bit; ditzy and out-of-it from being opened for longer than she expected. Ruby smiled a bit, before she turned back around to face the others.
"Alright, do you guys have everything ready?" She asked, looking around. The others held out small buckets with lids, and Ruby nodded.
"Good, good. Remember, we only need one of each. So...two is good for now."
"Well, let's hurry up and do this! It seems like the longer we stand out here, the heavier this rain is gonna get!" Gelatin whined. Ruby sighed, and waved her hand towards them, making them scatter around and beginning to look. Ruby quickly picked up the small piece of paper, before she began to scan the area around Book; just to keep her safe from any kind of unexpected critters that would bring her harm.
The paper was now crumbled up; Ruby held onto it, curiously twirling it in her fingers.
What was on it?
Meanwhile, Ice Cube was wandering around the TLC. She held the small pail with her mouth, as she looked in between small rocks and patches of grass that were around the corners of the small box.
Nothing.
She frowned, as she began to dig at the mud with her foot. They could...possibly be underground...
She continued to dig, until she moved forward, causing her to slip on the wet mud. This sent her slamming against the hard metal wall, as she slid down, wincing. That was definitely gonna leave a mark.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!"
The sudden voice made Ice Cube jump. She looked around, cautiously standing up and keeping an eye out for anything...suspicious.
It spoke again.
"HELLO?! WHO'S OUTSIDE???"
"Is that HER?! YOU BETTER LET US OUT OF HERE!"
Ice Cube turned, and was shocked to realize that the voices...
Were coming from the TLC.
She pressed her foot against the cold, slippery wall, as she gently kicked it.
"Uh...hello?" Her frail voice echoed.
"WHO ARE YOU???" The voice was loud enough to nearly blow her ear drums out, but, she shook it off.
"Oh..uh...I'm Ice Cube..." she said out loud.
"I'm just looking for...uh..."
Should she even say what she was planning to do?
Well, the object who was speaking to her didn't mind.
"OH! WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?"
"...a bug."
"WHY?"
Ice Cube paused.
"...for..research.."
"WHOA!" The voice gasped, in awe at the small figure.
"YOU MUST BE REALLY SMART, LIKE A SCIENTIST!"
A small blush glowed on Ice Cube's cheeks, as she shyly shook her head.
"O-Oh no, the scientists are back in the city...I'm just..a plain old nobody." She laughed awkwardly.
"NO? I BET YOU'RE REALLY SMART! AND WHO CARES IF YOU'RE A LOSER! YOU'RE STILL YOU!"
"Really...?" Ice Cube felt a giggle bubble up in her throat.
"OH DEFINITELY! YOU SOUND VERY NICE AND SWEET, AND YOU SOUND LIKE YOU HAVE A BIG HEART!"
Ice Cube smiled, as she leaned against the metal walls that kept the two separated.
"Do I...?"
"OF COURSE! EVERYONE HAS A HEART, EVEN YOU! THATS WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL THINGS!"
"Oh..." Ice Cube looked to her side.
"Well...I don't really feel much..I don't think I'm allowed to-"
"WHY?!" The voice gasped in shock. Ice Cube shrugged, as she stared at the metal wall.
"WELL...YOU SHOULD FEEL! YOU CAN'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE! IT'S YOUR'S AND ONLY YOUR'S; AND YOU NEED TO FOLLOW IT! FOLLOW YOUR HEART!"
Ice Cube felt a smile slowly stretch across her face, as she giggled quietly.
"Well...I'll try to."
"GOOD!"
Silence. Just for a moment, until...
"OH! WHAT'S YOUR NAME AGAIN?"
"Ice Cube...how about you?"
"BRACELETY!"
"I found another one!" Gelatin raised the squirming insect in his hands. Ruby looked up from the paper in her hands, and nodded.
"Finally! Let's get out of here..." She quickly folded the paper, and slipped it back into Book. She kept her balance with the help of a tree, holding her head dizzily.
"Oh..uh..." Ice Cube stood up, shaking the water off of her. She looked back towards the chamber, smiling a bit.
"I have to go now...but, maybe I can come back tomorrow..?"
"THATS OK! I'LL BE HERE IF YOU NEED ME ICY!!"
Ice Cube giggled, as she said her goodbyes and caught up with the group. Ruby nodded towards her, before she looked towards the buckets in Gelatin's hands.
"Okay, now try to be careful...we can't let them loose, otherwise-"
"Oh, calm down you mineral." Gelatin snickered, swaying the buckets back and fourth.
"I totally got this."
"FRIES!"
"PUFFBALL?!"
Fries stumbled back in shock, as he saw the ball of fluff floating towards his direction. She happily collided with him, snuggling as close as he could to his body. He simply stayed quiet; he honestly didn't know how to respond to the situation.
Puffball snuggled closer to him, a rainbow aura surrounding her.
"I missed you so much!" Her melodic voice rang through the air. Fries patted her head, before gently pushing her off of him, separating the two.
"How did you..get out?" Fries asked. Puffball grinned nervously, and began to laugh.
"Um...well, you see...I-"
"Puffy!"
Coiny walked towards the two, as he rubbed the sleepiness out of his eyes.
Puffball's eyes darkened as she turned around, puffing up angrily.
"DON'T call me Puffy!"
Coiny rolled his eyes, as he looked towards Fries.
"Did you help her out?"
"What? No! I don't even know how she got here in the first place!" Fries shook his head nervously. Coiny snickered, as he looked back at Puffball, who floated besides him.
"So hotshot, how did you do it?"
Puffball sighed, as she looked back towards the woods, regret suddenly pressing onto her.
"Well...while trying to figure out how to escape, Saw made a hole..." she looked back at the two.
"It was big enough for me to shrink, and squeeze through, but I kinda feel bad..."
"Kind of?" Coiny raised his eyebrow.
"Okay..a little."
Coiny facepalmed, while Fries let out an exasperated sigh.
"Okay, Well, let's go inside, shall we? I only came outside to get something from the garden." Fries shook his umbrella. Coiny nodded in agreement.
"I had to talk to you, Pin's back at the house sleeping. We...uh.." he laughed nervously, a small blush creeping onto his face.
"We had a moment."
"Well, FINALLY, you two are together. I thought you'd never notice." Puffball teased him, as Coiny crossed his arms, a blush burning his face.
"Alright, Alright, just get in." Fries muttered, as he held the door open. The two headed inside, while Fries carefully shut his umbrella, trying to keep his single fry protected from the water. He shook the water off of it, before shutting the door behind him.
"Is he gone?"
"I think so!"
"Okay, quickly, knock on the door!"
Gelatin carefully placed the two buckets down, before he knocked on the door. A few minutes passed after the knock, and he turned around to look back towards the group. He gave them a shrug, and Ruby waved towards him, as if she were telling him to try again.
He knocked once more, and once again, there was no response. He turned around.
"I don't think she's home!" He called out towards the group. They looked at each other, before Ruby began to look around.
If she were to go anywhere, she'd be at...
"Over there!" She pointed towards the house beside a small garden, a yellow glow coming from the windows. A silohuette was seen dashing back and fourth, a silohuette that nearly looked like...
Wait...
"FRIES, NO!"
Gelatin snatched the buckets up, as he began to sprint towards the house. Panic pumped through his veins, as he began to imagine what that monster could be doing to him. Tears stung his eyes, as he finally made it to the house, and kicked the door open. He uncovered the buckets, and looked up, a panicked expression painted clearly on his face.
"DON'T WORRY FRIES, I'LL SAVE YOU!"
"WHAT- GELATIN?!"
"NO!"
All hell broke loose.
The bugs suddenly darted out, a dangerous glow coming from their eyes. They raised their poisoned-arrows, as they crawled over to the objects nearest to them.
Puffball shrieked, as she quickly flew up from the ground. This sent her colliding with the ceiling, as she suddenly fell down, dizzy and disoriented from the sudden hit. One of the bugs quickly scuttled over towards her, raising its venomous arrows in the air. But before it could jab it's arrow into the object.
SMASH.
Fries held the shovel down, twisting and turning it as the hisses and crunches of the bug died down. He lifted it up; looking at the twitching legs that stuck onto the back of it, as well as a luminescent green slime sticking and dripping from the shovel as well.
Fries looked up at Gelatin, a death glare gleaming in his eyes. Gelatin simply stared in disbelief; he couldn't move, he couldn't think;
Because he saw one of the bugs, crawling over Fries's Fry..
It's arrow, poised into the air.
"FRIES!"
———————————————-
Clever, aren't they.
Trying to poison us, with those measly little creatures?
Pathetic.
Pin peeked from the window, carefully lifting up the shade that covered it. She watched as the Freesmarter's scrambled off; hearing screams of fear erupt from Fries's house. She slowly stood up, and winced at a sudden numbness that hit her legs.
What's your plan, Pinhead?
"I'm...not sure." Pin mumbled wearily.
"I'm still..feeling a bit weird..."
After...that? Seriously?
"Shut up. I just want to rest..."
So? Do something! It's time to put an end to all of these suspicions once and for all.
"But...how? If I do something to him, that makes me more guilty...
Grab some petals. Make some food.
Bring dinner over, and act. What happened here? Are you guys okay?
After everyone has settled down, lace his food.
Uh oh! What's this? BUG poison? Why, it must've gotten on his food!
"That doesn't make sense."
Pin, we must do something. Otherwise, WE'LL be on the chopping block.
"Can we Just do that instead...I'm-"
PIN. PAY ATTENTION.
WE MUST DO SOMETHING TO STOP THEM FROM ACCUSING US.
HOW Are we going to DO THIS.
"Listen, let's just check out what's going on..if I can even go over-"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
The scream echoed through the house, as Pin felt her heart drop.
Coiny...?
