Abandoned Investigations

"How are you gonna get her out of there? It's merely impossible!" Ice Cube exclaimed, walking around the large, metal container. Pencil rubbed her chin in thought, before she looked back towards the rest of the alliance.

"How long has it been since we used the wall teleporter?"

Gasps of shock suddenly erupted from the group, as Bubble began to shake her head.

"No way!" She exclaimed, walking towards the taller figure. "We will not touch GB's teleporter; she'll get angry! And I don't think I'd loike to make her mad..."

"Bubble, Bubble.." Pencil patted her head, before shoving her towards the side. "You have to understand that this is for Icey's sake; you wouldn't want to make your alliance member sad, hmm?"

Bubble stumbled back, trying her hardest to not collide with anything that could make her pop. A small yelp escaped her lips, as she suddenly lost her balance and slammed her hands onto the wall. Pencil giggled.

"Come on, Bubble. Strengthen up; we can't screw this up for Icey now, can we?"

"I HATE YOU!"

The sudden exclamation made Pencil freeze. Bubble jumped; the voice coming from behind her. Which meant that it was from...

"What did you say?" Pencil gritted through her teeth, crossing her arms angrily. Bubble shook her hands towards her, a sudden nervousness beginning to weigh her down.

"I-I didn't say Oinything Pencil! I-"

"I! HATE! YOU!"

Pencil clenched her fists, as she began to stomp towards the trembling figure. Bubble cried out in fear, before suddenly cowering down in fear and shielding herself from Pencil's tactics. That is, until Pencil slammed her fist against the cold metal, the echo of the impact shaking Bubble to the very core.

"AND WHO, said that?" A angered grin slowly grew amongst Pencil's face. The voice inside of the box chuckled a bit, before they spoke.

"Why would you want to know? There's no way you can figure out who I am."

"Is this Ringy?!" She crosses her arms, beginning to tap her foot impatiently.

"No!"

"DID SOMEONE SAY MY NAME?!" Sudden footsteps quickly bursted through, before a small knock was heard from the other side of the wall. "ICY?!"

"Bracelety!" Ice Cube smiles warmly as she began to make her way towards the spot where Bracelety was knocking. Pencil rolled her eyes, before leaning closer towards the wall, directing herself towards the voice that had snapped towards her before.

"We'll continue this little dispute later, Alright." She muttered.

"I don't care, now go away. You're voice is gross enough to give me a headache."

Pencil couldn't see it, but she could tell that the object speaking had a taunting smirk on their face. She rolled her eyes; no longer giving a crap about whoever spoke back to her. Besides, they were stuck inside of that prison, while she was out here, being bold and free as she could be. She walked over to where the others stood, passing by Bubble who sat quietly with her arms wrapped around her body. She stayed in that position, until...

"You gone, already?" The voice asked. Bubble jumped, and turned towards the blue wall behind her.

"S-She's goine..." she whispered, fearful that the voice would begin to tease her next. She didn't know why she was afraid; she was already used to being teased and made fun of by Pencil and Match...

"Are you okay." The stern voice cut Bubble's train of thought, as she was shocked to hear the tone of slight compassion coming from inside.

"Wh-What?"

"I said, are you okay."

"Yeah.."

"...Who was she." The voice asked, noticing Bubble's nervousness and quieting down a bit to make her feel less intimidated. Bubble sighed.

"That was Pencil...the leader of us Freesmarters..."

"I hate her."

Bubble gasped in shock. "D-Don't say that! She'll hear you!"

"So? It's not like she can do anything to hurt me."

"Y-Yes, but she can still hurt you!"

"And how would you know? Are you on her team, sweetheart?"

The sudden name made a light blush glow on Bubble's cheeks, but she quickly shook it off as she cleared her throat. "W-Well, yes, but-"

"Then I hate her team! I hate you!"

"But whoiy? Whoiy do you hate me? You haven't even seen me yet!"

"Because you're apart of a team that's leaded by a sad excuse for a team captain, that's why."

Bubble frowned. "That doesn't mean oinything though! It's not like we're all the same!"

"Are you sure about that?"

"Of course! She's my leader, I hoive to respect her! Or else she-" Bubble suddenly slapped a hand over her mouth, her eyes widened in realization. She didn't want to tell this stranger what Pencil's tactics were, otherwise they'd-

"...Or else she what." The voice sternly asked. Bubble shook her head.

"N-Nothing! Nothing, it's ok!" She laughed out nervously.

"You're stuttering."

"N-No I'm not!"

"Yes you are."

"No!"

"BUBBLE."

Her stuttering soon came to a halt, as she heard the object say her name; loud and clear. "H-How do you-"

"She said it earlier. Duh."

"Oh..." she clasped her hands together nervously, as she laid her back against the wall gently. "What's your noime..?"

"What?"

"What's your noime..?"

"My what?"

"Your noime!"

"What are you saying?"

"Your noime! NOIME!" Bubble cried out, frustration suddenly bursting in her tone. Her eyes widened. "O-Oh! I'm soirry, I didn't mean to yell, I-"

"Accent, huh." The voice replied, nonchalantly. Bubble sighed.

"Yeah..."

"...The name's Fanny. And don't sweat the accent." Fanny mumbled, laying against the cold, darkened wall. "It's...nice."

"Really? Everyone always tells me it's weird..."

"Well, it's a bit off, but it's suitable." She replied. A small smile lifted onto Bubble's face, as she carefully turned her body so it could face the wall.

"That's...The noicest thing anyone has ever said to me.."

"Well, don't get used to it. I'm not the... 'nice' type, per say."

"And whoiy is that?"

"...I hate everything. Cliché, I know." She began. "Everyone has noticeable and hidden flaws and they all refuse to recognize the fact that they, like the rest of us, are tainted. They live out their lives as if they are a plastic, shiny new doll and as if they are the star of the show; and then there's those who only attempt to improve their behavior because theirs is far from perfect, and, dare I say, worthy of hate."

Bubble sat in silence, her mind now bursting with realizations and thoughts from what Fanny has said.

"Wow.."

"It's not like I'm not worthy of hate either; I definitely am. Even I hate myself. But I don't care." Fanny shrugged slightly. "It a thing."

"Well...I don't hate you."

Fanny's eyes widened. "...What."

"I don't hate you..." Bubble smiled. "You speak the truth...and..although it's scary....it's a brave, brave thing of you to do.."

Fanny's cheeks began to glow, as she rolled her eyes.

"Wh-Whatever. I hate this."

Bubble giggled quietly. "It's okay.."

I don't hate you.

A week has passed, and the city was nearly...silent. No longer thriving with the lovely chatter that harmonized through the atmosphere, it stayed silent and eerie; a heavy feeling of sadness tugging down at those who remained.

Pin trudged back to her home, carrying a few bags of supplies she had found in an abandoned store nearby. It was silent for her; no longer arguing with herself, all that filled her head was a hollow, empty ringing.

And pain.

She had held off the killing for days. Something, had cut into her soul, deep enough to make her feel regret for what she had done. And that 'knife', was simply carrying her lover's dying body in her arms...all wounds inflicted by her own doing. Her eyes began to shine with tears at the remembrance of it all.

I love you.

She looked up, trying to prevent the flow of tears that would stain her frail, exhausted face.

I have always loved you.

"B-..But how.." Pin choked out quietly, suddenly feeling her heart stings tug violently in her chest. The tears soon followed; the warm liquid making its way down her cheeks.

There's nothing to be afraid of, Pin.
I promise.

"I-I'm Scared..." the supplies suddenly slipped out of her grasp, as she slowly slid down onto the pavement below her. She wrapped her arms around herself, as she began to sob heavily into her legs. Her body trembled and jolted with each weep and sob that erupted from her mouth; no longer caring about anyone who could hear.

"I-I want you back...I-I..I'm so scared..." Pin gasped out. "I'm- I'm sorry.."

The fear, the sadness and the anger that had bursted inside of her began to weigh her down, leaving a heavy emptiness to replace it all. The heaviness laid at the bottom; those being her negative emotions, of course.

She looked down at her arms tearfully, noticing how they were clean, soft, and abnormally cold...before she began to notice the blood that splattered an painted all over them. She shut her eyes, no longer wanting to see the hell that she had brought upon herself.

'Scarlet..'

"You're not real." Pin whispered out, her body suddenly running cold.

'Pin.'

"YOU'RE. NOT REAL." She mumbled, hugging herself tightly.

'I love you.'

"No..." Pin let her eyes snap open, the color now pale, and emotionless.
"You Don't."

...silence.

"How's the Recovery Center coming along TB?"

"It's going well! A few bugs here and there, but I'm so close to repairing it; I think we might have a chance to save ourselves and everyone!"

"A swell 83. 973% chance, might I add."

"Absolutely!"

The sudden tone crashed through Pin's darkened atmosphere, as she quickly scrambled out of view from the two who were approaching. They hadn't seen her; and that's how she wanted to keep things. The last time they had spoken, was after everything that had happened...only a few days ago.

"What happened to you?!"

"I don't know."

"Where is Coiny? Where's Fries?! Pin, did Leafy kill them?!"

A sob suddenly escaped her lips. "I don't know."

"PIN, YOU'RE COVERED IN BLOOD. WHAT DID YOU DO?! DID YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM?? GODDAMMIT, SPEAK!"

Everything stayed quiet. Her eyes...dull. Until a loud, breaking sob escaped her lips.

"COINY!"

They stopped speaking to her since then. They only got the idea that Coiny and Fries were dead, and she was the only witness; and she wasn't in the place to speak up about it. Coiny was her lover, after all...

The duo came into sight, continuing to chatter about their calculations and findings of their latest goals.

"We recover everyone, and then we ask them what happened. It's a simple...yet effective, plan that could work." Tennis Ball explained. Golfball looked up.

"We have to be careful though, they could try to destroy the thing once again. And I don't have the patience to see dead bodies with missing hands anymore..." she muttered.

"Well...I'll find a way to make it indestructible."

"There's a good 3.152% chance you could make that possible."

"C'mon GB, we have to try! And if all else fails, we keep it...well, you know where."

Golfball sighed, turning away from the larger figure. "Fine."

The two walked past her spot, not noticing her in the view. Pin stared at them curiously, before it made her jump.

The museum.

Wow, you're still here.

I thought GB wasn't fond of that old place.

Why are you here? I thought-

Go along.

What?

Go.

"I'm still curious as to why you don't like the museum GB." He raised an eyebrow towards her. "You're usually into investigating the artifacts that were left behind in a place like that."

Golfball's expression changed at that moment; going from uninterested, to fearful and uncomfortable.

"Why do you want to know." She uttered. Tennis Ball's eyes widened at her sudden tone.

"Well, I care about you, for starters, and I have never seen you act-...well.."

"Emotional? I know." Golfball tutted. "But this isn't something I can...easily talk about. I'm not sure if, in my lifespan, I'll ever be comfortable enough to...explain everything that happened there. I just don't feel...ready?"

"How about strong?" Tennis Ball suggested.

"Yeah, strong; I don't know if I'll be..strong enough to talk about it."

"It's that rough, huh." Tennis Ball replied sympathetically. Golfball shrugged slightly, turning her head away from him. The two continued to walk, heading towards the science museum for their-

So...little Golfball is afraid of a abandoned museum? I'm...strangely fascinated, I must learn more...

Well, you aren't going to.

What? Why do you say that?

Pin slowly emerged from her hiding spot, quietly sneaking around and following the duo as they made their way towards the museum.

Pin.

The two stood in front of the ruined doors, feeling the heavy aura beginning to drag them down. Tennis Ball glanced over towards Golfball, noticing that her face was beginning to lose its color.

"Golfball.."

"We're going in TB. If we need more supplies for this, we need more supplies..." she looked up. "Even if it means..going in."

PIN.

"Alright.." Tennis Ball sighed out. "But if you don't feel okay...just let me know, okay?" Tennis Ball leaned down, and gave her a gentle kiss on her cheek. Golfball blinked, before she took a shaky breath.

"A-..Affection. It's affection." She mumbled towards herself, feeling her cheeks then pink. Tennis Ball chuckled a bit, before slowly walking inside of the deteriorated building.

WHAT ARE YOU PLAN-

"Shut it." Pin gritted through her teeth, as she carefully made her way inside. The sudden smell of mold and dust smacked against her, as she struggled to not let out a cough or sneeze. She ducked down behind a large pillar, as she began to listen.

"You head upstairs. I'll look down here."

"But GB-"

"The QUICKER we get to look, the quicker we can get out of here." She sighed out.

Tennis Ball nodded hesitantly, before he began to make his way up the stairs towards the next floor. Golfball let out a trembling sigh, as she looked around the abandoned scenery.

"I thought I had forgotten.." she whispered. "I never wanted to remember..."

She made her way towards a few glass cases, and began to investigate the few objects that laid collecting dust. She observed the rust and metal, observed the technology, and took mental notes; how could this help fix the Recovery Center?

Her eyes suddenly glanced over towards the large, potted plants that stood eerily against the wall. She noticed the small, broken pot that stood out from the middle...

Where are you, BOZO?!

"Just a memory, just a memory.." Golfball whispered, shutting her eyes tightly.

You need PUNISHMENT.

She turned towards a large display case, and noticed the array of smaller inventions that stood proudly within the walls. Her eyes gazed over towards her reflection.

You can't hide forever...

A figure stood behind her, a taunting grin spread widely amongst their face.

BOZO.

Golfball's face lost it's color, as she watched the figure come closer..

"Bozo-brain bossy bot, huh...?"
