✧Yours Before Mine✧

Chapter Nine ✧ Yours Before Mine

In the few hours that I had been freaking out over the unexpected discovery I had made in my journal, Scott and Stiles had also gotten themselves into a mess. Donovan, the not-so-polite convict who had threaten Sheriff Stilinski last night, was apparently on the lose. And as if that couldn't possibly the worst part of it, the police transport and its other passengers that had all been traveling with Donovan had all been maimed or killed by an unknown creature, who may or may not be linked to an apparently troubled senior named Tracy. Because there obviously already weren't enough of those running around.

The only good thing about the latest Beacon Hills mayhem was the fact that it was keeping my mind off of my own problems; the fact that I'm either losing my mind, being haunted, or both. Of course a con to all this havoc is the fact that I don't want to tell anyone about it for the fear that I'll only further burden them. Then again, who would I tell. Liam, or Scott? Perhaps even Lydia?

I had no idea. A whole new world seemed to weighing down on me, and I was to scared to show it to anyone else. But it wasn't the fear that I had grown so used to feeling. I was nothing like when Isaac and I were growing up, terrified of our own shadows because we believed it would turn on us. No, it was like I was the one who had turned on my shadow, and that I was the one that was going to be doing all the damage.

The class bell rung, causing me to jerk in my seat. I'd walked into class in a daze, not paying much attention to what I was doing. I'd crumbled up the picture I had found last night almost immediately, but the image was still fresh in my mind. I was almost positive that if I picked up my pencil, I could start drawing an exact replica.

That was probably why I didn't pick up my pencil. I didn't trust myself to do the warm-up like a normal teenager could do with out thinking twice. Right now, I seemed to be farther from normal then I had ever been.

Movement out of the corner of my eye finally caught my attention. I looked up tentatively, only to see a frantic-looking Liam staring at me wide eyed. I felt myself nervous, as if somehow he'd been reading my thoughts and knew Something was wrong with me, then he began mouthing something.

It's her, His lips moved silently, but I still knew exactly what he was saying. Look, she's here.

I looked past Liam and, sure enough, there was Tracy, sitting calmly in a desk two rows over. She gripped the desk tightly, her eyes fiercely looking off into nothing, her bare feet brushing across the ground. A shiver ran down my spine as I stared at her, and I instinctively knew something was wrong.

Quickly, I turned back to Liam and mouthed, Get Scott

We had very little time to form a plan, mostly because we didn't no how much longer Tracy would just be sitting motionless in a desk. So we opted on pulling the fire alarm, and as most of the class filed out towards the nearest exit, Scott and Liam filed back in. I slowly got out of my seat, ready to approach Tracy when I saw somebody else had already beat me to doing so.

"Hey, are you okay?" Hayden Romero asked, which I had a feeling she was going to regret. I didn't know the girl very well other then the fact that her and Liam seemed to have a spotted history, but I was really hoping she would step back before Tracy could do something.

Hayden, unfortunately, didn't get so lucky.

Tracy reached out, locking her iron-like grip around Hayden wrist, making the innocent bystander gasp in pain. I cringed, already knowing this was going to be another incident that would suck to explain.

"Tracy, hey. Tracy." Scott said softly as he walked down the aisle towards Hayden and Tracey. Following his lead, I also moved closer to the two other girls.

"You're hurting me," whimpered Hayden. I could seen blood coming from the grip Tracy had on her.

"They're coming," Tracy mumbled, sounding eerily dazed. Surprisingly, she let go of Haydens arm. Her charcoal colored eyes were on Scott, but I had a creepy feeling that she wasn't actually looking at him. "They're coming for all of us."

Shortly after Tracy delivered what seemed to be a proclamation of death, she collapsed to the ground. Her eyes were still open, cloudy and not really looking at anything, but I had a feeling she was no longer with us. At least, not for now. Then, a silvery liquid seeped from her mouth, puddling around her and making my stomach churn.

"Scott, Is she..." I couldn't bring myself to finish the sentence, but I had a feeling Tracy wasn't dead anyways. But something was definitely beyond wrong with her. I pushed my problems aside as I dropped to my knees next to her, deciding that Tracy's definitely had priority over mine.

"We need to get her out of here." Scott decided, squatting down next to me. After a seconds hesitation, he decided to scoop her up in his arms and rush out of the classroom with Kira's father hot on his heels. Liam and I stumbled out of the class room after them, watching as they were intercepted by Malia and Stiles. The pair didn't stop to ask questions, and instead opened the doors to make running out with a unconscious girl slightly easier.

"She wasn't even supposed to be in our class." Hayden said, reminding me that she too was there. I turned around to see she was expectantly looking at me, like she thought that maybe I'd somehow have all the answers. "Where are they taking her."

Never being that good at lying under pressure --or really ever at all--  I quickly looked over to Liam in hopes that he'd be able to answer her.

"Uh, hospital, I guess." Liam stammered.

Even though Liam answered her question, Hayden didn't bother looking his way. Instead, she just looked down to her wrist.

"Do you need help getting to the nurse's office?" I asked awkwardly, hoping to get her mind off of what ever she was trying to figure out about Tracy.

Making it obvious that she was only going to be looking at me and not Liam, Hayden shook her head. "No. No, I'll be fine."

Once Hayden hurried around a corner, I looked over at Liam. My, well, Complicated Relationship, looked back at me expectantly. "What are we supposed to do now."

"How about find Lydia and Kira?" I questioned, but then I realized how unassertive I sounded and decided I didn't very much like it. "I mean, we need to find Lydia and Kira."

Liam gave me a quizzical look, before nodding. I began rushing down the hallway, noticing only when it was too late that Liam had been holding out his hand towards me and expected me to take it. My cheeks burned red but I kept moving with him now right on my heels. All I could do was keep my eyes peeled for Kira and Lydia and hope that Liam just thought that I hadn't noticed his hand, which was kind of true.

Evidently, Lydia and Kira had been looking for us too. Turning a corner, Liam and I nearly collided with the Banshee and the Kitsune.

Once we all caught our bearings Kira asked, "They're taking her to the animal clinic?"

Liam nodded. "Yeah, they think Deaton can find out what's wrong with her."

"What"s wrong with her is that she killed two people," Lydia said, which I had to agree with. "Her father and, according to Parrish, her psychiatrist."

"Isn't there anyone else we can talk to?" Kira questioned, her eyes flitting back and forth between all of us. "Does she still have her mom? Any family?"

"An alpha!" Lydia suddenly exclaimed.

"Right," I said, nodding in agreement. "If she's a werewolf then she has to have an alpha of some sort, right?"

"Does anybody know of a new alpha that's moved in to Beacon Hills?" Lydia asked.

"No, but there's an old one." Kira remembered. "One of the oldest, and we know her."

I immediately knew she was talking about Satomi, and I shared a look with Liam who did not seem pleased. I knew the reason for that, too. He was thinking of Brett, our somewhat 'frenemy'.

"And her pack." Liam muttered, frowning over towards me. He definitely disliked Brett much more then I did.

"Then let's split up." Lydia suggested. "We need to see if we can get any clues at Tracy's house, and track down Brett to see if he can lead us to Satomi."

"Alright, Let's go." I agreed, moving to follow Lydia and Kira. Then I realized I was leaving behind Liam and looked back at him with wide eyes. "I mean, is it okay if I help them try to figure out what's going on?"

Liam looked dazed for a second, but he slowly nodded his head. "Yeah, yeah of course. I can get Mason to help me. Just be careful."

"Yeah, you too." I murmured, putting a smile on my face as he stepped forward and kissed my cheek There was an awkward pause, but Lydia cleared her throat and we all split into our different directions.
