Chapter 11
A/N: Two updates in one day? You lucky weirdos, you.
[Fear's POV]
The moment Time left, I let the smile fall from my face. Time never worried without reason, but it wasn't that that bothered me.
It was the uncertainty in her eyes.
The caution.
It had been millennia since I had seen her that cautious look. Not since the first day we met.
I walked into what looked like an office, curious yet cautious. It was white, like any other office, except for the girl in the chair.
She looked a mere seven-years-old, with long golden hair and a plain white dress that reached down to her ankles, paired with dainty white sandals.
She looked like she belonged in a wild meadow, with the wind blowing her hair to the side while she spent her time making flower crowns, not in some office.
I watched as the scary man who had brought me here defer to her, motion to me and then walk out.
She looked at me with caution, as if she had no idea what to make of me. I flushed when she stood up and instinctively stepped back, tripping over a dustbin and falling to the floor.
When I heard a chuckle, I closed my eyes to try and stop the tears, but one escaped. Curving my spine outward, I started to curl into myself, hiding from her.
I was nearly a ball when I felt two hands gently grasping me under my arms. Slowly, she pulled me straight, so I was standing at my full height, my head still lowered.
She curled a finger under my chin and lifted my head so she could look me in the eye.
There was no mocking in her eyes. No anger or hate or even disgust.
Her eyes showed understanding.
She had understood that I was scared, that I had no idea who or where I was. Not even what I was. She knew it and understood it.
Slowly, she tilted her head up and kissed me on my forehead. It said,"It's okay. I'll be here for you. You will never be alone or lost again. I will never leave you"
We've been partners ever since.
I leisurely strolled to where Marcus was, perfectly aware that he had seen me and Time talking. Knowing him, he will hold his tongue unless I was in danger.
He'd be a great immortallite (the term we use for people who are turned into an immortal). He never judged, never questioned unless something felt off, and took everything in stride.
That being said, I still haven't told him that I was the one and only Fear itself. Imagine that conversation. It would definitely involve some fainting and a whole load of freaking out every time I walked into the room.
I smiled at Marcus and hopped into the car.

"Hey Nichy-boy! We're coming over in about an hour or two, so get ready!"
I bite my tongue before I shout something inappropriate or accidentally sass-back them. Not again! I groan as I roll over on my bed, thinking about what I was going to reply with, when I realised that he had hung up on me.
I wish Time would be here, I thought to myself. It would be nice to have another sane person here.
Before I could even realise what I was doing, I sent Time a text asking her to come over. I waited for a while, terrified of her reply, until she said that her mother knew my family and was coming over, also reminding me to try to avoid an incident like last time. I started cackling (yes, I laugh like an evil witch. I can't help it, but I do try toning it down a bit).
This will be really interesting.
A/N: Like I said, next week is when all of the action will begin.
I also felt a little guilty for dropping everything like the way I did and forgot to update for a week, so this is my recovery from my guilt trip.
Do not send those giant armies of yours after me, please. Also, leave all weapons and poisons at the door, one: I'm immune. Two: I am not in the mood to go through torture again.
:3
Denograde out ;)
