Ok, so this is like a summary of the last chapter for anybody who couldn't read it because of their own personal reasons. If you read it, you can just skip this.

The chapter began with Brandon coming to Alex's room to talk to her for a bit. He started asking why she wouldn't let Rachel on the case, and tried to convince her to let Rachel on the case. Alex refused, and somehow the conversation turned to Brandon accusing Alex of cheating. Alex stood her ground until Brandon gave up, and Alex went to the gym to exercise away her frustrations.

Alex went to try to hash it out with Brandon, and overheard a conversation between Rachel, Rafe, and Brandon, during which they talked about certain horrible things they had done in the past and were planning to do in the future. Alex snuck up behind Brandon while the terrible trio was absorbed in their tiny delusional world and smacked him in the head with a tray. Unfortunately, Brandon's thick skull dented the poor metal tray, but he was knocked unconscious. Alex dumped Brandon and essentially told Rafe and Rachel to jump off a cliff.

After letting out her rage on the punching bag in the gym, Alex got the following notification on her phone:

Due to an incident in the mess hall, a new rule has been added.

Rule #101: No smacking people in the head with trays

Really, people. Is it that hard not to knock someone unconscious with a tray?

Unfortunately, Rafe ruined the good mood by sending her an email and trying to get her to give up the case. Alex caught on and replied:

Rafe, you coward. If you want me to give up without a fight, you're living in the wrong universe. Try Universe 9. Contact me never. Bye!

After that, Alex learned that another jewel had been stolen, this one was aquamarine.
