“Is he alright?” Panther worriedly asked the chief doctor.

“He got too lucky to not seriously injured in an hour, he'll be alright to leave in a few hours. Just swelling is remaining which subside on its own” the doctor replied in a mechanical tone.

“Cheetah should have been more careful, you have a great mission ahead” Panther spoke with concern.

“I have faced the worst storms, this little mishap won't affect me much” Randhir replied with a straight face.

“Maa, I have reached safely don't worry” Sanyukta assured on the phone.

Sanyukta then sat on her room's bed, she drank water and took deep breaths to feel better.

The outside view looked magnificent through the balcony of the room. Sanyukta plunged into the open air of the balcony.

The sun was setting behind the mountains and the sky glittering with hues of gold and pink.

Sanyukta observed the nature beauty around her, mountains always calmed her senses. This time too, it worked.

“Kaustu, yes I am fine, dear” Sanyukta spoke out.

“Sanyukta, take care of yourself, don't think about him at all” Kaustuki stated.

“Yeah, why would I think of that man who died long ago, his memories too died that day” Sanyukta spoke out with damp eyes.

“Sanyukta you still can't lie properly to me. Never mind take care of yourself” Kaustuki spoke before ending the call.

Sanyukta the dinner with Sarita and other students. At night, when she decided to sleep, the room felt cold and strange. The loneliness made it difficult for her to sleep.

The thought to sit in the balcony for a while, sleep took over her.

“Sir, just give us another chance, we won't disappoint you” Randhir and Sanyukta pleaded together to a man.

The man scrunched his nose in anger. He signed a paper and ordered the security to throw Sandhir out before snatching their identity cards.

Then some bouncer guards threw Randhir and Sanyukta mercilessly on the road, the winter fog, the helplessness, and insult stung hard on both of them.

Randhir quickly up Sanyukta,he removed the road pebbles which got nested in her soft arms, piercing her gentle skin.

A cold wind blew over Sanyukta making her shudder, Randhir placed his jacket over her shoulder. The latter cried in his arms.

Sanyukta got up from her sleep, she looked here and there,Randhir was not there, the place was empty.

The cold wind is still blowing but, tonight, neither Randhir is there nor his jacket. This mere thought brought tears back,Sanyukta cried to sleep on her bed with no one to soothe her heart's ache.

Randhir packed his bag, his eyes shinning with hope.

“Finally, you got recruitment. Congratulations, Cheetah” Panther wished best wishes to Randhir.

The latter felt the pride of success in his heart, he thanked Panther with a warm hug.

Randhir sat in a helicopter, within a few minutes he saw familiar mountains, the same landscape that he had once explored with his one and only.

His heart skipped beats as he thought of Sanyukta. Her hazel eyes, that beautiful smile and her silky hair again occupied Randhir's mind as he closed his eyes.

She looked at him with so much love, the wind blew her hair over her face, he quickly moved his finger to her face to remove those strands of hair.

“Panther, we are ready. Get down now” a voice interrupted Randhir.

It was just a dream reflecting his past, Randhir realized as his eyes snapped open. The reality hit him hard, his heartfelt empty again.

Quickly Randhir made way to the camp of Ladakh, with each step he felt his heart beating fast.

A cool breeze run over his head making sweat beads disappear like his love placed a kiss over his forehead.

With each step on this soil, he remembered those beautiful days of his honeymoon, Sanyukta's imagine flashing in his mind. He slept on this bed, which was harder than the one he slept on earlier.

Slowly, different layers of pasts are showing up, throwing light on the scattered past. When nothing is possible anything is possible, to know more stay tuned.
