Chapter 3

"Sanyukta make sure that all students of your class reaches the auditorium for guest lecture" Sarita Devi instructed Sanyukta.

Sanyukta nodded her head like an obedient disciple, she entered Class 12 D, the most notorious class of senior year and unfortunately Sanyukta's responsibility is to be their class teacher.

"Class, move towards auditorium silently. There is a guest lecture for twelfth standard students" Sanyukta announced in the class.

Students of the class started going towards the auditorium, only Shreyas and his friend kept sitting in the back benches.

"Shreyas and others go to the auditorium" Sanyukta pointed out.

"Madam ji we are bunking the guest lecture" Shreyas spoke as if he was talking about winning a medal in Olympics.

"No excuses, go to the auditorium asap" Sanyukta spoke in stern voice.

"Is some Bollywood celebrity coming around that I should go" Shreyas spoke, raising his one eyebrow.

"Don't know about the celebrity coming, but definitely your parents will be called tomorrow for bunking, make your choice" Sanyukta smirked folding her arms.

"Hey, let's play something," Shreyas hissed while sitting in the last row of the auditorium.

"Let's hit our target," the boy next to Sheryas suggested.

The troop then picked up the pens, paper and small rubber bands to make catapult (gulel in hindi). This gang never made good grades in class, but when it came to make something for their mischief they become mad scientist with creative tools to annoy people.

Then they hit their target with paper balls. The target glared them at first, but then they kept attacking the latter with paper whenever they got the chance to aim.

"Sheryas enough is enough, behave and stop throwing paper balls at me" Sanyukta scowled.

Sheryas made a face and sat straight. A few minutes passed, Sanyukta thought to sit next to Sarita Devi. She started climbing down the side stairs of the auditorium to reach the front of the chairs.

As stepped down a few steps, someone barged his leg literally in her path, poor Sanyukta tripped and fell flat on her face.

Some students got horrified while others laughed at Sanyukta.

"Madam first learn to walk on your feet then try to teach us"Shreyas jibbed at Sanyukta. The latter now very well knew Sheryas was the culprit.

Some staff teachers rushed to help Sanyukta. Another young recruited teacher helped Sanyukta with her saree.

The male teacher brought a first aid kit to put some dressing on Sanyukta's broken toe nail, which now started to bleed.

Sarita Devi asked Sanyukta to rest in the medical room or staff room, but the latter stated the ache in the toe was uncomfortable to walk with.

Sanyukta sat on the nearest chair to her, she hid her tears from her staff members and some students who looked at her with pity.

Pity is something with which everyone looked at Sanyukta whether her parents, friends, and even her landlord. Today her students and colleagues too are looking at her sympathy and pity, some might be mocking her in their minds as well.

Ignoring all the glares, Sanyukta sat there, waiting for the guest lecture to end. She didn't look up at the stage, her eyes were roaming here and there aimlessly as if her eyes and soul wanted to hide somewhere away from clutches of mockery and pity.

"Good Morning, everyone" the guest lecturer, spoke in the microphone.

Sanyukta instantly recognized the familiar voice, her heart beats increased. She looked up to see the man she admired so much.

"I know long speeches are boring and useless, I just say a few lines and then I will conclude my thoughts" the guest lecturer spoke adjusting his spectacles.

"How easy it would have meant to keep
moving foward
If those 10 directions were infront of our eyes
Instead of being scattered around us,
How easy it would have been if we kept walking and rest everyone stopped,

I have tried to think about this senseless world with ten heads and have tried to achieve it with 20 hands
I have made it very difficult for me

In the beginning, everyone wants to start
from the beginning
But lose the courage till they reach the end.
We don't care how a journey ends which started with a pomp, we loose interest about how a journey ends which started with great enthusiasm on our own will.

While accomplishing the difficult jungles and high mountains
When you will win the last peak.
When you feel there is no difference left between you and roughness of those stones

When you will bear the first storm of ice on your forehead, and you will not tremble then you will find that there is no difference in winning everything
And not losing hope till the end'.

When Vardhan paused, there remained  a pin drop silence in the auditorium and the hall erupted into applause, speechless by the poetry which Vardhan spoke out.

Shreyas too was clapping with his peers, a positive attitude and spirit of not giving up filled by the young students.

"Students these boards exams will check your pressure taking ability, don't crib if you get lesser marks than you expected because these marks are not determinant of your intelligence and true capabilities. Exams are part of life, not the whole life" Vardhan concluded his speech only to be appreciated by another round of applause.

Sanyukta looked at Vardhan with teary eyes, her heart got overwhelmed after she saw her favorite mentor again.

Sanyukta quickly thought to leave the auditorium before Vardhan could spot here because the questions Vardhan
might ask to Sanyukta could tear her apart again.

She moved towards the entrance limping, a pair of hand on her shoulder stopped her.

"Sanyukta sit here, don't hope here and there like a hopping Kangroo" Sarita Devi spoke with motherly affection.

"Hey, is that you?Sanyukta Aggarwal, Am I correct" Vardhan spoke from behind, making Sanyukta's feet turn cold.

"Yes she is our teacher Miss Sanyukta Aggarwal" Shreyas replied quickly.

Vardhan's facial expressions changed swiftly, he looked intently at Sanyukta waiting for her reply.

"She keeps scolding us, she can't even explain us topics, I really wish I had a teacher like your Sir" Shreyas whined like a kid disliking his mathematics teacher.

Vardhan spoke out,"Even I wish I could another student like your teacher, but Sanyukta is one of a kind".

"Omg!Kanya Kuwari (Virgin lass) was your student!" Shreyas exclaimed in utter shock. He got glares from Sarita, Sanyukta and Vardhan.

"I mean... Miss.Sanyukta was your student," Sheryas fumbled.

"Yeah one of my best and favorite student" Vardhan replied looking proudly at her.

Sanyukta reciprocated with a bright smile, after a long time a smile made a way on her lips which was pure and not a fake one.

"Kiddo never ever disrespect your teacher if you want to succeed in life," Vardhan advised Shreyas.

How will Sanyukta answer all those questions of Vardhan which she don't even want to face? Some questions and answers are pending to be answered stay tuned.
