shawn was exhausted. he'd been out taking photos for ten hours straight, only to find that his memory card was missing. he arrived home twenty minutes earlier than usual, so he stopped at topanga's for some coffee.

"hey, mrs. cory." he told topanga matthews, his best friend cory's wife and close childhood friend of the two.

"hey, mr. katy." she responded. "what can i get for you today?"

"well, i was hoping to stay a while for coffee, and maybe help maya with her homework." he explained to topanga.

"i'll get right on with the coffee, but maya will be a while. cory took his classes to the museum of natural history today." she laughed.

shawn sat down at one of the booths and turned on his phone.

"text katy." he said to siri, as he thought of something cute to say to his wife.

"hey, pops." shawn's step-daughter maya chuckled as she sat down next to him.

"oh, hi, maya. i was just about to text your mom, is there anything she needs to know?" he asked her.

"nope. nada. nothing at all." maya replied. "except for one tiny thing; i have a boyfriend." she whispered. "okay, see ya at home!" 

he grabbed her arm before she could slip away, and gave her a stern look.

"you have a what now?" he said, biting his lip.

"a nothing! i have a nothing. yeah, that's what i said, it sounds believable, so that's what i said." maya rambled, trying to get herself out of a mess.
