The Warning
"Hey! What was that for?" It yelled. I screamed and jumped onto my bed.
"I'm going crazy..." I whispered to myself. "There's not possible way that that thing is real. This isn't real. This is all a dream! Yes definitely a dream!" I thought out loud.
"This isn't a dream." It spoke again. I screamed again.
"Why do you keep screaming?" It asked me while covering its small ears.
I opened my mouth but closed it. After a short pause, I finally said breathlessly, "I mean, you startled me..."
It laughed. "Don't be afraid of me! I came from that thing over there," it pointed to the broken lava lamp. "Your deceased father gave it to you." I frowned at the mention of my father.
"Thanks for reminding me that I'm fatherless." I snarled sarcastically. I crossed my arms over my chest and sat down onto my bed.
"Well, he's not actually dead." It said suddenly. My eyes twinkled. But then I remembered, i was probably dreaming. The twinkle left my blue-green eyes.
"Yeah, you're absolutely right!" I rolled my eyes. "How could he possibly be dead when the police found his body in the lake?"
It frowned. "I'm being serious." It said. It glided closer to me.
I stared at it until it was right next to me. I was a teeny weeny bit afraid so I looked at my toes.
Another long pause, then I suddenly spoke, "Excuse me, but what exactly are you?"it blinked at me. "I'm not trying to be rude but-"
"I am a creature that your father has created and I am here to warn you about something that is crucial to your existence." It said. I blinked. To say that I was shocked was an understatement. I was floored. But then the shock turned into confusion. "I'm sorry, what?" I asked.
"Your father faked his death after he found out what your mother has been doing. Your father's death was a hoax, Scarlett." It explained patiently. "Your mother, she has been-"
"I'm home!" My mother's voice rang through the house. My eyes widened as the creature looked around. "I need to hide from her." It said calmly. I ran towards my closet and opened it. "Quick in here!" I said and it crawled inside. I covered it with towels and blankets until it was completely out of sight. I closed the doors and jumped onto my bed, just in time.
My mom put her head through the door and smiled. "Who are you talking to? I heard voices talking." She asked. "Why can't I talk to myself?" I answered, scowled at her. "Why is your lamp broken?" She questioned, frowning. I said coolly, "I accidentally knocked it over." She sighed and walked away. I huffed and closed my door. I locked it just incase. I opened my closet door and it flew out.
"Okay weird orange blob thing, you told me that you were here to warn me about something, what is that something?" I asked. "Wait no, hold on. How does my father know you?"
"Again, I was created by him. And I'm here to warn you about your mother. You need to get out of here. It won't be long before she realizes I'm here." It explained. "She can smell me, sense me."
I rolled my eyes. "How do I know you're not making this all up and that this isn't a dream?"
It walked right in front of my face and slapped me. Hard. I gasped at the stinging pain on my left cheek.
"You believe me now?" It asked. "A little..." I replied. "Would you like me to prove that you're not dreaming? I have many different functions in my body. I can transform my arm into a flamethrower and-"
"No, no it's fine!" I replied quickly. "How do I know that you're not just a robot playing a prank on me?"
"Go into your mother's room and unlock her phone while she's sleeping. Look at her photo albums. You should see pictures of dead babies, all killed by a different method but same killer." It told me plainly and I stared at it. "If you still don't believe me after that, check the basement. Then I'll answer every single question that you have. You should find many wailing babies inside a cage under a thick, wool blanket. I assume you've never been in the basement before?"
I nodded. "Mother never allowed me to..." I said and gasped. If this is true, istg I'm going to kms. I swore in my head.
"Alright, I'll check her photos because I can't trust you completely just yet." I planned.

A/n: hello my children! I mean, readers! Congrats, you've made it to, idk what chapter this is but, the next chapter won't be out so soon because I have this "disease" called, procrastination. I don't know if you've ever heard of it before but it's very serious and I'm trying to cope with it.
Incase you didn't know, that was all a joke but I do procrastinate a lot so don't expect 10 chapters in a month. Thanks for reading, ok bye.
