Ch. 2: Mom
Synthia's P.O.V.:
I was 6 when my mom passed. It was a tragic thing that shouldn't have happened... My mom loved when people remembered her for the good, she did and would always do great first impressions. But this isn't about her personality. It's about what happened that day. More will be told but for now let's get into this story.
"So, a bright sunny day my mom, dad, and I were coming from the carnival. Best place should go sometime. There was an ice cream truck parked at the curb, and I let go of both my parents' hands and ran from between them begging and pleading to go! Mom agreed so we all went. We all got a chocolate scoop with a cookie on the side. We get into the car and ere off to home land." Every time we went on a ride, I loved it! Mom and dad would always sing and make funny jokes! But....this time it was silent and awkward... "I didn't know what had happened then but, I was confused, nobody seemed focused. It was knowing so I pointed it out saying 'Mom look! You like know!' I remember her smiling and me thinking 'I did something good! Quick something else!' I got out of my seat and went to turn on the radio. I had said 'Lets sing now mommy!' Mom looked at me for a little while and I smiled so she would too. But it was the wrong moment..."
In Synthia's head: Maybe I should have just let it be..."
"So, what happened?" the lady said. "That same moment we were passing a 2-way intersection on a hill side. Dad yelled and mom slammed her foot down on the brakes. Dad grabbed me tightly as a car hit us from behind and moms' side. I screamed her name and grabbed her arm. People were getting out of their cars calling the police!" As bad as our luck was it would stop there right? Nope. "A stupid truck was coming from moms' same side, and not even stopping or honking their horn they slammed right into us! Luckily mom didn't get hurt since she was leaning into the middle area. Dad goes to take off his seat belt but, right when you hear -click- the people outside start to scream, and the car starts to tilt. My life flashed before my eyes too quickly! I remember thinking 'I'm too young for this. We need to be together!'"
I took a little water break then got back to the story.
"The car kept tilting. Dad put his seat belt on buckling me in with him. He and mom held onto the top handles of the car as I hoped and prayed to our Lord. All I remember was my mom saying, "We are okay. It's going to be okay my little Beanie Boo! Just hold on." So, I did just that. I held on to the seat belt and dads' arm and closed my eyes so tight I didn't realize something was happening...
