ⅩⅩⅩⅠⅠ
A week later, Taehyung and Jungkook stood at the doorway, their suitcases neatly lined up beside them. Jungkook clutched the handle of his bag nervously, his excitement mingled with a tinge of apprehension. Taehyung, on the other hand, exuded a calm confidence, though his eyes betrayed a flicker of anticipation.
"Take care of each other," Taehyung's father said warmly, giving them both a firm pat on the shoulder. "And enjoy every moment."
Grandmother smiled brightly. "Don't forget to send pictures. Especially from the Eiffel Tower! And Jungkook, make sure Taehyung doesn't just eat croissants the entire time."
Jungkook chuckled, his nerves easing a bit. "I'll make sure he tries other things."
Beomgyu, leaning casually against the doorframe, couldn't resist one last tease. "Don't get too lost in all the romance, okay? And remember, we expect a souvenir—something cool, not a keychain or fridge magnet."
"Noted," Taehyung replied, rolling his eyes but smiling nonetheless. "I'll make sure to bring you back something very Parisian."
Beomgyu smirked. "And hey, don't come back with news that I'll be an uncle, alright?"
Jungkook turned beet red at the comment, avoiding everyone's gaze, while Taehyung simply laughed, throwing an arm around Jungkook's shoulders. "We'll try to keep things PG, Beomgyu. Don't worry."
As everyone shared their final goodbyes, Jungkook couldn't help but glance back at the house, a warmth spreading through him. This place had become his home in more ways than one, and the thought of returning after this trip with Taehyung by his side filled him with a quiet happiness.
At the Airport
At the airport, Jungkook was wide-eyed, taking in the hustle and bustle around him. Taehyung took the lead, handling their tickets and passports with ease, while Jungkook trailed slightly behind, still adjusting to the idea of traveling abroad.
"Have you flown internationally before?" Taehyung asked, noticing Jungkook's curious glances at every sign and terminal.
Jungkook shook his head. "No, this is my first time."
Taehyung smiled, reaching for Jungkook's hand to give it a reassuring squeeze. "Don't worry. I'll take care of everything."
As they settled into their seats on the plane, Jungkook leaned against the window, watching as the plane taxied down the runway. Taehyung leaned closer, his voice soft. "By the time we land, we'll be in Paris."
Jungkook turned to him, his eyes shining with excitement. "I can't believe this is really happening."
Taehyung grinned, brushing a stray strand of hair from Jungkook's face. "It's just the beginning, Kook. Wait until you see the city."
jungkook smiled and turned back to the window, watching take off excitedly. As the plane took off, Jungkook pressed his face to the window, his wide eyes taking in the view of the clouds.
Taehyung watched him with a fond smile, leaning back in his seat. "You're adorable when you're excited, you know that?"
Jungkook turned to him, his cheeks flushed. "I'm just... I've never been this far from home before. It feels... unreal."
Taehyung smiled, " we're gonna have a lot of fun..."
Jungkook asked, " how long is the flight?"
Taehyung glanced at his watch before turning back to Jungkook. "About twelve hours. Long enough for you to get some rest, watch a few movies, and dream about all the croissants you'll eat in Paris." He chuckled, his teasing tone lighthearted.
Jungkook's lips curved into a small pout. "Twelve hours? That's so long..."
"It'll fly by," Taehyung reassured, reaching over to adjust Jungkook's blanket. "Besides, I'm here to keep you company. We can even share earbuds and watch something together."
Jungkook perked up at that idea, the pout fading from his lips. "Okay, but you're not allowed to fall asleep halfway through like last time."
Taehyung smirked. "Hey, that movie was boring. Pick something good, and I promise I'll stay awake."
Jungkook giggled softly, pulling out his tablet to browse through the in-flight entertainment. He settled on a romantic comedy, nudging Taehyung playfully. "This one. It's cute and funny, just like you."
Taehyung rolled his eyes but smiled, leaning closer so they could watch together. As the movie played, their heads drifted closer, their shoulders brushing.
Halfway through, Taehyung noticed Jungkook's eyelids starting to droop. His focus on the movie was waning, replaced by the subtle signs of sleepiness. Taehyung noticed and paused the movie. "Come here," he murmured, wrapping an arm around Jungkook's shoulders.
Jungkook hesitated for a moment before leaning into Taehyung, his cheek resting against Taehyung's chest. "This is nice," he whispered, his voice drowsy.
Taehyung pressed a soft kiss to the top of Jungkook's head. "Get some rest, Jungkook. We'll be in Paris before you know it."
Jungkook smiled against him, his eyes fluttering shut. "Okay... but wake me up if something exciting happens."
Taehyung chuckled softly, holding him close as the world outside the window faded into darkness, and their new adventure drew closer with every passing mile.
--
A few hours later, Jungkook stirred awake to see Taehyung fast asleep, his head resting on top of Jungkook's head. He stayed still and smiled, not wanting to disturb taehyung's sleep.
When Taehyung finally stirred, blinking his eyes open groggily, he realized where his head had been resting. He froze for a moment, his face heating up as he glanced at Jungkook, who was pretending to be focused on the clouds outside but was very clearly awake.
"Were you... awake this whole time?" Taehyung asked, his voice still heavy with sleep.
Jungkook turned to him, his lips curving into a soft smile. "Not the whole time. But long enough to know you snore a little."
"I do not snore," Taehyung said indignantly, sitting up and running a hand through his hair.
Jungkook laughed quietly, the sound light and melodic. "You don't. I'm just teasing." He paused, his gaze softening. "You looked really peaceful."
Taehyung's ears turned red, but he didn't look away. Instead, he reached out to ruffle Jungkook's hair playfully. "Well, get used to it. Next time, I'm stealing your shoulder."
Jungkook's laughter filled the quiet cabin as Taehyung stretched and sat back, their conversation falling into a comfortable rhythm once more. Both of them knew, without saying it aloud, that moments like these—small, intimate, and unspoken—were what made this journey so special.
As the flight attendants began serving meals, Taehyung nudged Jungkook. "Hungry?"
Jungkook shrugged. "A little. Airplane food isn't exactly gourmet, though."
Taehyung laughed, peeling back the cover of his tray. "Well, consider this practice for all the fancy French food you're about to try. Croissants, macarons, escargot..."
"Escargot?" Jungkook asked, wrinkling his nose. "That's snails, right?"
Taehyung grinned mischievously. "Oh, definitely. And you're trying it."
Jungkook shook his head vehemently. "No way! I'll stick to the croissants and macarons, thanks."
Taehyung chuckled, reaching over to steal a piece of Jungkook's bread roll. "Fine, but you owe me a dance under the Eiffel Tower in exchange."
Jungkook's lips parted in surprise, then curved into a soft smile. "Deal."
