The Mistake

He was meant for Athena.

But the snow-white mist that veiled her thread signified the purity she had sworn to keep.

Lakhesis looked at it guiltily.

"What do we do now Mother, this affair between Ares and Aphrodite may just tear apart this world by the seams if allowed to continue."

At this, Klotho readily agreed.

"Is there not something that can be done? Hephaestus may not turn a blind eye forever, Zeus already loathes that blasted son and lusts for Aphrodite, and, of the three newer threads of the offspring of this affair, only one does not glow with colors of hatred or fear, what will come of this if they all realize that he had been wrongly fated?"

Nyx seemingly ignored the younger two and motioned at Atropos. "What do you think should be done?"

Atropos shrugged. "How should I know? Should not Ananke be the one asked this question?" The mother of night could not fight off the smirk that spread over her lips, nor the gleam in her crystal blue eyes.

"Since you have said so, I have a message from Ananke as to this dilemma that clouds your thoughts."

The three Moiraie sat straighter at that, anxiously awaiting what was to be said.

Nyx smiled mischievously.

"Fate the Divine with another."

Lakhesis frowned, not expecting such an answer that had not settled her mind. "How? Once fated one will-."

Atropos cut the youngest off with a sigh. "Just explain how...please?"

Nyx sauntered closer to the loom, running her fingers through the mass of mortal threads.

"How did she say it again? Ah, a twin of Athena to be born among mortals, with the wisdom of hers, the character of hers, and her chastity. She would be dawned as the fated of the Lord of War."

Klotho gasped. "A mortal, one exactly like Athena? But how?" Once again, Atropos interjected.

"Weave, just weave Klotho. When the time comes, we'll ask the questions, or maybe even find the answers without asking them...but anything will be better than what we have now."

Nyx briefly stared at the eldest with hidden pride, the cutter had taken on the personality of her mother.

Klotho resigned to do what her elder sister said, glancing doubtfully at the threads on the loom. Then Nyx's gaze shifted to her and she read her thoughts through her expressions, heading for the opening of the cave.

"Do not worry Klotho my dear, you will know the thread once you weave it, and then the answers will come. Don't worry, alright?"

With that, the mother of night disappeared.
