[ 1 MONTH LATER ]

I slid down the door.

A newspaper wrinkled in me hand.

Tears cascaded my face,

I should've known the signs.

And I....I neglected those.

I was so naive.....

I should've known when everything was calm... for the past month....

Even today morning.... the climate was bad...

There was a storm.

Zay went to New York, to the company's headquarters.

Eliza said that their actual home is in New York and they came here just so Zay could finish High School.

Eliza and Zach went with Zay, so he could get practical knowledge of his work along with college.

So basically I'm here with Elena, Zera and Rachel.

I noticed for the past few days, Elena and Zera were not their usual self...

Not only that, I've seen Liya and Soph having secret conversation with them... And they abruptly stops when I come into view.

"What are they hiding?" Rachel asks me, a day ago.

I ate my breakfast and was cleaning the house, when I heard the security say out that the newspaper has come.

Yes, I'm a nerd who reads the paper everyday.

I never regretted reading newspaper before, but that day was the day I regretted it... so badly.

The first thing I saw in the paper broke me down.

The cover had a picture of Zay and...... Annalise...... holding hands.

The headline read, "ZAY THOMAS AND ANNALISE MARTIN IS OFFICIALLY ENGAGED."

But I didn't believe it.

I switched on the TV, to a news channel and there it was...

It was official.

It was true.

Right in front of me was an interview with Zay, who confessed the news to be true.

And next to him was Annalise.

My heart broke when he leaned forward to give her a peck.... on her lips.

"Scar.......let-"

I turn to see the shocked Rachel.

"RUN AND SWITCH OFF THE TV." I heard Elena scream as she and Zera ran down from the stairs, to stop in front of me.

Behind them was Liya and Soph.

"L-Listen Scarle-" Soph starts but I stop her.

"Did you all know about this...." I ask, my voice wavering.

They were quiet.

"So I heard you will be going back Ohio." The interviewer asks.

"Yes, we are." Zay says holding her hands.

"So I guess, it was only us who didn't know about it." Rachel says.

I slowly leaves the hall, followed by Rachel.

Thankfully, Rachel knew that I want to be left alone.

I closed the door, tears poured down.

Betrayal...

An utter betrayal...

When I woke up, Rachel was packing my bag.

With the dress that she bought... nothing else.

And I was happy for that.

There is someone who understands me.

"Lets go.... back home." Rachel says, when she saw me awake.

Yes, I fell asleep.

I heard the front door open and the butler welcome them.

"Lets go." Rachel says.

I nod.

We descend the stairs and my eyes meet his.

I look away.

I know for sure my eyes will be red from all the crying.

"Come Scarlet." Rachel says.

"Scarlet.... Please listen to me.... I-" Zay starts

"Scarlet, darling. Where are you going?" His mother asks simultaneously.

"How.... How long did you know about this?" I ask Zay, tears I held so tightly, now pouring out.

"The beginning of this month...." He answers.

"Lets go Rachel." I wipe away my tears.

"Please.... Scarlet listen-...."

"Scarlet......" Everyone calls me.

"It is Keira..... for all of you. And thank you... Zay, for everything.... The past few months are something I will never forget. Happy married life... And please don't invite me." I say, saying goodbye to the Thomas mansion.

It has been two days since I left Zay's home....

Of course, my phone was bombarded with their missed calls and messages... Most of them were from Zay.

The school group chat also were discussing about the same.

"I thought Zay was gonna end up with Keira... " One said.

"Wasn't Annalise the girl who Zay pushed away...." Said the other.

After that Rachel took my phone and threw it away... literally.

It hit the wall and smashed into pieces.

"I'll buy you a new one..." She said.

I sigh.

These days I feel tired....sick.

Food was the last thing on my list.

I spend my days crying...... doing nothing else.

I was thinking of the past few months.... when I felt the happiest.

"You okay?" Rachel asked, snapping me from the thoughts.

"Scarlet.... you gotta eat something..... What's wrong?" She says, her forehead wrinkled, showing worry.

"Noth-" And that when I felt it..... The need to vomit.

I ran to the attached bathroom.... vomiting out the tea I drank a few minutes earlier.

Rachel hot on heels.

My eyes blurred...

"Hey, hey Scarlet.. Look at me...." I felt her slapping my cheeks.

I could see her speaking, but I couldn't hear her...

I felt slowly slipping... into the darkness...

A place I didn't wanna go again.

I open my eyes to see a familiar white ceiling.

I turn my head to see a silhouette of Rachel.

I see it get up and scream for the doctor.

Rachel helped me sit up, when I finally got back my vision.

"Hey dear, are you okay?" The doctor asks me.

"Umm... I don't know."

"So I've been told that you don't know anything about it." The doctor looks at Rachel, who looked dejected.

"Wha- what is it?" I ask her, my voice hoarse.

"You're a month pregnant....." The doctor said.

And my world crashed.

The doctor said to call her when I regain my composure as she had something important to tell me.

It has been almost an hour since the doctor left.

An hour since me and Rachel broke down.... weeping.

Like a banshee.

"God... doesn't want.... y-you to be ha- happy...." Rachel said in between her tears.

"Call the doctor....." I ask her, wiping my tears ad forcing myself to not cry.

She came within a few minutes.

"Miss Ross. I want you to listen closely. I've asked and came to know that you were malnourished. Well at least till a few months back. I wanted to say that you are currently malnourished. Well, the thing is...... Since you have been malnourished when the reproductive development takes place..... It seems your womb hasn't quite..... developed." She says.

I look at her, perplexed.

"It can affect the child... there are three chances....either you will lose the child.... or you will give birth to an underdeveloped child.... the lowest percentage is that you will give birth to a healthy baby."

"But from what I came to know.... the father is not in picture and you are suffering emotionally.... It can affect the child, dear.... Although emotions are not something we can control. Take care of yourself." She says.

I switch on the TV, to find an interview of him and Annalise at a party.

Here I am, carrying his child and he is getting married.... to someone else.

I am not wicked to kill this innocent little thing.

I will raise him or her.... different from its father...

"Rachel, could you give me your phone..... I want to call someone."

"Who?" She hands me her phone.

I tap the numbers and press the call button.

The person on the other side answers....

"бабушка.... it's me.... Could you arrange two tickets?" I ask her. (Grandma)

"да, дорогой, я узнал об этом." She answers, sadly, and for some reason I perfectly understood what she said. (Yes dear, I came to know about it).

"Pack your bags, Rachel..... We are leaving this hellhole.... forever."

Rachel smiles... sadly.

I know I messed up.

But I'm stuck.

Marrying Annalise is the only thing I can do now.

Or else I would lose him, my father.

That b*tch, I should've known that she wasn't innocent like she looks.

Even Rachel, who used to be a b*tch was not as cunning as her.

I punch, Scarlet's name on my phone.

"The person you are calling is not responding.... Please try again-"

For days the only thing I've been doing is messaging or calling her.

"Why don't you go to her house?" Mom says.

She has avoided everyone except Rachel ever since.

"I'll do that.... I will tell her the truth and...." My heart felt heavy.

I'll go there tomorrow....

I couldn't sleep.

When I close my eyes, I see her smile...

The first time I saw her.....

Her sweet kisses.

Her delicious taste.

It's driving me crazy.

It went from twelve AM to seven AM.

My eyes still wide open.

"You look like sh*t.." Jack says, when I came down for breakfast.

"You sound sh*t too." Ryan says.

I know... I seen the horrible dark circles....

"I'm gonna go to her house." I announced.

I saw Liya and Sophia come down.... Both looks like me.... I should say more horrible than me.

They were crying.

For sure.

I couldn't eat.

It's like my tastebuds stopped functioning.

"I'm gonna go...." I announce and leave my house.

I drove till I saw Rachel's and Scarlet's house.

I immediately got down from the car and ran to the door.

I rang the bell....

No answer.

I rang agin and again and again.

Still no answer.

I started to knock..... harder each time.

"Their not here." I heard a familiar voice.

"Mrs. Homes." She looks tired, not the energetic lady I know.

"They packed all their things and left." She says.

I felt someone pushing me down, a weight fell onto my shoulders.

"Wh-Where?"

"They didn't even tell me boy... You messed up... Poor girl.... poor thing." She say and leaves.

I drove back home.

"How did it go son?" Mom asked.

I was surrounded by everyone in a second.

"Hey, bro what happened." Elena asks, worried.

I guess I looked broken.

"Son, you're scaring me." Mom starts sobbing.

"Gone......" I whisper.

"She's gone."

I fell on my knees and cried out loud.

All the servants ran to us as they heard me.... screaming.... thrashing.

Sorrow filled their eyes.

My knuckles starts bleeding as I hit it hard on the floor, continuously.

Zera started to cry, scared .

"Ryan hold him." I heard Jack tell him.

They held me, to avoid me from hurting myself.

I bring my bloodied hands to my heart.

"Mom..... it hurts.." I cry.

"It hurts so bad....."

I lost her....

I lost my love...

And I don't think I will find her again.

The darkness hugged me as my eyes closed.

This will be the only place I could see her.

I love you, My Scarlet...
