I was shocked to know that our school doesn't provide training for the race. So I decided to train myself and that is what I did.

And at that exact time, we were told that our school will be closing for a week to practice and to arrange for the game.

What the hell, they have practice for the game and cheerleading but not the race.

Waking up in the morning without fussing about going to school ... is the best feeling a student will ever get.

The first thing I did after I woke up was search for clothes appropriate for my training. I had to check my mother's clothes to find it 'cause the only clothing I had in my cupboard were pairs of black jeans, white shirt and large black hoodies.

Finally I found it. It was a long black leggings and a gray camisole. I even found shoes. I wore it and found that it was a perfect fit.

I guess my mom used to run too.

My eyes teared up remembering her.

I wore a black sports bra. Wore the clothes, tied my hair in a ponytail, wore the shoes and was about to leave my room when I saw my hoodie on the chair.

I stood there for a good five minutes debating if I should wear it or not.

I looked out the window and saw that there were no soul outside even though it was six AM.

I then decided against wearing the hoodie 'cause no one's around and I'm gonna sweat a lot.

I then go down the stairs to find Rachel sitting in the sofa with her phone. She looks at me when I fake cough to catch her attention.

"I...umm... I'm going for a run. I'm not gonna run away." I say too her. She nods and replies, "I heard your participating in the race." This time I nod and leave.

I walk around to find a good spot for the run. Living my life in the house without going outside made me unfamiliar of the place I lived ever since I was born.

So I went to Granny Holmes to ask her about a park or any other area for practicing.

"There is a park down the road... I used to walk Tuck there. it is good for exercise." She told me.

I thank her and leave.

"Keira dear,..." She calls me when I reach her gate. "Practice well." she says and I smile at her.

This small gesture made my heart and mind swell with confidence .

I reach the park.

Seeing it made my mind start filling itself with memories.

I used to come here with mom....

Even when it is almost seven in the morning, not a single soul was there.

Just when I'm about to start running my phone vibrates. My phone, a very old model was actually Rachel's. She was about to throw it out when she bought new phone. I asked her if she could give it to me and she gladly agreed.

That was the only time she ever agreed to me.

I checked the caller id to find 'Soph' written in bold letters.

"Hey Soph, what's up in the morning." I ask her.

"So basically,........ We wont be able to meet each other for sometime. My granny got sick and me, Liya and our family are gonna go to her." She says, sadness clear in her tone.

"Oh," I say sadly. "I will pray for your granny."

"So Keira, are you practicing." Liya asks me.... The phone clearly on speaker.

"Well, I was about to start when you called." I tell them.

"Oh, So sorry, we didn't know you will get up and practice so early. We will call you everyday at 7 PM okay." Soph says.

"Kay , kay, bye.... I'm gonna practice now ...kay" I say and we end the call.

I tighten my shoe laces and does a warm up exercise and I start running, not before I start an app which shows the distance I ran and the time taken to run that much.

Even though I started I could feel myself becoming faster gradually.

It was an amazing sensation. The wind caressing my hair and hugging my body. The pain on my back slowly fading. I find my lip curve upwards to give out a smile.

This is the best feeling ever...

I stop running to catch my breath and check out the timing. I then keep a note typing the date, the distance and the time taken, so i could compare them next time.

I then check the time. Its almost nine.

I decided to have a short run before I go back.

It is when I started running I started reminiscing about me and mom, when I saw the places we used to play around at.

Still running, my eyes started to blur with tears, thinking about those moments that i could never relive in my life ever again.

"Fu*k" I heard someone curse when I knocked someone and fell down.... 'I' fell down.

"HEY, CAN'T YOU WATCH WHERE YOUR G-" I hear the other person yell but stops abruptly.

'Someone' whose voice I found so familiar.

Suddenly my mind starts replaying the events from the hospital.

"Who did this? It seems your friends knows exactly who did it.".........

Keira..

"Who.....".....

Keira..

"Sleep"......

Its the same voice as...

KEIRA.

I was bought back to reality by the Greek god. His workout clothes wet from sweat. Some of his hair lumped up as his hair too was sweaty.

To summarize, that was a mouthwatering creature standing in front of me. But looks can be deceiving 'cause the one standing i  front of me is not a god  but a devil.

*sigh*

"What do you want..... Zay ?"

I see him staring at me....completely.

That's when I realized.

Sh*t.... I should've brought my hoodie with me...
