Author's POV:

It is 21st of June and Shubman along with the team arrived at Mumbai yesterday itself. Today Shubman, Varisa, Anushka, Virat, Rohit, Ritika, Shahneel, and Ishan are going for the engagement shopping.

Varisa got ready in a casual tank top and pair of blue denims. All of them settled in one car with Virat, Anushka, Ritika, Rohit, Vami and Sammy in one car while Shubman, Varisa, Shahneel and Ishan in another. Akaay was at home with his nanny as the baby was taking his nap and they didn't feel it right to wake him up and carry him to the shopping session only to get him exhausted and cranky at last.

They visited few luxury boutiques and lastly finalized the couples outfit at Sabyasachi, which Varisa's label and Sabyasachi are co-designing for Shubman and Varisa. All of the others also finalized their outfits at the same label, which would get delivered at their respective houses on the day before engagement.

While shopping it was already noon and they decided to visit one8 to have their lunch before heading for a movie and dinner at the Kohli residence. After having their lunch all of them were back home lying at different places, Virat, Anushka, Rohit and Ritika in the lawn, Ishan and Shubman in front of the TV playing video games, Shahneel and Varisa in Varisa's room deciding over the wedding stuffs and looking for inspos for the wedding outfits while the kids at the play room.

It was evening when Anushka asked Shubman to go and call Shahneel and Varisa downstairs as they were about to start their movie in few minutes. Shubman got up from the couch heading to the first floor where Varisa's room was. 

Shubman: Guys! niche chal lo yaar ab subah se room mein pade ho dono!

He got in to see Shahneel and Varisa sleeping all cuddled up. He face palmed himself seeing the two grownup women sleeping like babies.

Shubman: yeh toh mere jagah meri behen ko cuddle kar k so rahi hai!

Shubman: oye uth bhi jao ab dono!

The duo opened their eyes adjusting to the lighting in the room. They saw a sulky Shubman standing with his hands crossed at his chest.

Shahneel: ki hoya? aise muh kyun fula rakha h?

Shubman: tu meri bandi se aise chipkegi toh main ab muh bhi na banaun?

Shahneel: konsa teri bandi ko vyah k le ja rahi hun?

The brother sister duo was constantly bickering while ignoring the reason they were bickering about. Varisa sat on the bed looking at Shubman and then at Shahneel, waiting for them to stop which didn't seem to be possible.

Varisa: guys stop it!

The duo stopped bickering and became silent in just one command. Kohli genes yk!

Varisa: Shubi yaar kitni nautanki karte ho! ab neeche chale?

Shahneel: haan chal!

Varisa: chalo di!

The duo went out of the room while Shubman stood confused if Varisa was dating him or his sister. Shrugging of his nonsense thought he too came out of the room joining everyone at the theatre.

Varisa tapped beside her indicating him to sit beside her which he eventually did, getting in the blanket as all of the ACs were switched on.

They watched the movie and as soon as it ended most of them were in the kitchen preparing for the dinner.

Ritika and Anushka were busy preparing the chicken biryani, naan and butter chicken while Shahneel helped them. Varisa stood in front of the kitchen counter whisking the batter for the red velvet cake she was preparing for the dessert.

After almost being done with the dinner and dessert, the ladies joined the group of men that were sitting in the lawn enjoying the beautiful view of the mumbai skyline with the cold breeze blowing, providing a soothing feeling. Later after having dinner, surrounded by chaos and gossips. All others left for their home at nearly 12.

Varisa's POV:

Today is 25th of June, the day of our engagement finally arrived. In past four days I couldn't really meet Shubi and those days felt like months to me. In past months I've really got habituated of his presence. Currently I, bhabhs, Ritika bhabhi, and Athiya are in one of the rooms of hotel Taj Palace, which bhai booked for the engagement.

Even though we wanted a minimal and less crowded engagement, we couldn't really help but invited approximately 400-500 peoples, which just comprised of our close friends, relatives, ICT and WAGs, and some of the business personalities I've been in great relation with.

I wore a lilac lehenga for the day, that featured various intricate embroideries in it from the Zardozi work, Resham work and Zari work to having sequins sewn on it, adding up to the glamour of the outfit. 

 Bhabhs was fixing my dupatta while Ritika bhabhi made me wear the bangles. All of us were in chaos as it was already time to start the function and stuffs seamed to still not be done completely. We heard a knock at the door, which Athiya opened to find Nats bhabhi and Shahneel di standing their. They too got in shutting the door behind.

Shahneel: Oh my! Ri you look so gorgeous!

Varisa: thank you Sha!

Natasa: Actually Vari! you look so hot!

Athiya: Shubman flat ho jayega for sure!

Varisa: Athiya yaar!

Anushka: what? She's spitting facts only!

Varisa: bhabhs aap bhi?

Ritika: me too! Shubman will not be able to take off his eyes from you!

Varisa: okay okay ladies! thank you for all the compliments!

Shahneel: don't worry Ri I bet you're also gonna have your eyes on Shubman all the time!

All of them chuckled at me while my cheeks flushed red.

Anushka: guys it's time to go! Athiya tu Vari ko leke niche aajana 5 min mein humlog jate hain

Athiya: don't worry bhabhi main hun Vari k saath!

Shahneel: bhabhi main bhi Athiya di k saath aa jaungi Vari ko leke!

Anushka: Thank you! we'll go first!

After 5 mins of bhabhs, Rits bhabhi and Nats bhabhi leaving, we too left behind them. Coming to the main hall I saw Shubman surrounded by Ishan, Khushpreet and Abhishek. He looked ethereal in the lilac kurta with an overcoat featuring intricate hand embroideries of banarasi thread work delicately put on the piece of cloth accompanied with the Resham and Jali work, for our outfits to have a similar touch of sophistication to it.

I could see him scanning every inch of me as soon as his eyes fell on my. We shared a short eye contact before he followed by his friends came in our direction. He put his hands on his chest with a dramatic look on his face.

Shubman: hayeee! mrs. Gill!

I blushed at his comment as all of them gave me a teasing look.

Khushpreet: yeh toh flat hogaya aapko dekh k bhabhi! aap batao aapko humara bhai kaisa lag raha hai aaj?

Varisa: to be very honest hot and handsome as usual but aaj thora zyada!

Ishan: ohhh hooo! hot and handsome hunhhh!

Shubman: ab woh apne pati ko compliment bhi na de?

Shahneel: pehle shaadi toh hone de kaka!

Shubman: ab koi chance nhi hai she's stuck with me for lifetime

Varisa: I'm glad to be stuck!

Khushpreet: ohhh hooo lovebirds!

After talking for a while maa and Keart mom came to us taking us to the center of the hall which had an elevated area. After getting done with the rituals, Shahneel di came with an wooden tray decorated beautifully with white lilies consisting the rings in it.

Taking the rings from the tray Shubman forwarded his left hand asking for mine. I slowly forwarded my hand and within few minutes the rosegold ring was in my ring figure as a signature of me being committed and devoted to him. I too did the same, slipping the ring in his finger, earning tons of hoots and applauds from the peoples present there, witnessing the auspicious event taking place. 

After the roka Shahneel di and Ishan announced for a couple dance, to which Shubman asked me for dance and I gladly accept, placing my hand over his. He wrapped his hands around my waist pulling me closer, while my hands rested on his chest. Our bodies grooved to the slow yet romantic beats of Shiddat in each other's arms, with our eyes never leaving each other's sight.

And finally we are engaged! Engaged to the love of my life no matter how much issues we face and no matter how many times we fight but every time we'll come back stronger, never leaving each other's side!
