Karry didn't like putting her whole journey on Skye at a pause but she did as she got a call from DC saying that they wanted to talk with her. Karry was excited and very happy to hear that they wanted to talk to her but she also was nervous. At the moment Karry was waiting outside the conference room, her stomach churning inside out and the nervousness and uncertainty evident on her face.

As her feet tapped nervously against the tile ever so slightly, Karry couldn't help but wonder why had they called here today? Was it to fire her? To tell her she had done something wrong? There were some many possibilities and ways this meeting could go.

Karry was only thinking about the negatives and as soon as she realized it, she mumbled to herself, "Come on Karry. Snap outta of it. Think positive and take deep breathes. Deep breathes."

As Karry bit her lip, filling her head with questions and thoughts of uncertanty, she felt a vibration radiating from her phone that had been snuck away in her pocket. As she pulled it out, a smile couldn't but from on her lips, curving upward in no time. It was a text message from Thomas.

Thomas: Stay strong in there beautiful. You'll do great, I know it.

Karry sent a kissed emoji and then said thanks before a Secretary at the desk said in a tender voice, "Ms. Karry, you may now enter the conference room, the council is waiting. Don't be nervous and be yourself. "

Karry nodded as she replied, "Thanks. I will."

With that Karry took a step past the doors as before her awaited the very men and woman who had decided her job earlier this month. It was hard to believe that a month had already sped on by. Karry was satisfied with her work and with Thomas's help, she felt much more confident. Karry knew she could hold her head up high with her work.

Karry sighed as she smiled towards the council. Once Karry was in there facing the council, she swallowed her fear and doubts and gave a confident smile letting out a long lingering breath. As the council began the meeting, Karry took her seat and carefully listened to everything the council had to say.

"Miss Edwards, we've been examining your work. I think we as a whole have made a conclusion about you. " The woman paused giving Karry an almost seeming glare that could kill, sometimes its not what you think.

Karry bit her lip as she asked, furrowing her brow, "A conclusion?"

The woman replied, "Yes, a conclusion. Your work led us to this conclusion, so it was by your work and actions that we've come to a decision and agreement, so yes, this is our conclusion."

Karry immediately thought of the words good bye every time the woman said the word conclusion. Conclusion means an end to something. An end. . .Maybe this was the end of her dream of working of DC. Maybe this was the end of memories in New York. Conclusion is an end. This end, the so called conclusion was making Karry even more nervous. The word conclusion never sounded so horrible. Conclusion, this is the end. As Karry sighed at the thought of not being accepted, she said, "Does this conclusion concern me as a whole working here?"

The woman nodded, "Very so. Smart girl. Here at DC, your work means very much to us. It reflects a lot on you as a person and your creative output is what DC uses to make it better. Your output is what we use to make DC a better company. For years, many generations have enjoyed our comics. Why do you think that is, hmm Miss. Edwards?"

Karry thought about it before saying, "Each person has a different output and that output is what makes DC different. DC uses the ideas of different people from all walks of life to make a masterpiece. Anyone can relate to it. Its complex plot lines make collectors and men and women and children from all around the world love these heroes. Heroes such as Superman, Nightwing, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Justice League, etc. Its the output of different people that make these characters so different that attracts the attention of all types of people. Who knew that a small comic book could reflect so much off the company and people that put time in making what it is. Its worth the grit and work that those people put in. The generations that will and have enjoyed it is what makes those people satisfied. Knowing that they have made people smile for generations and generations to come is what keeps DC alive. At least that's what I believe it to be."

"Miss Edwards, why do you we've called you here? " She said taking in like a sponge in water, what Karry had said.

It was quite surprising what this one girl thought about the generations and generations to come. The future. It was infinite stream of possibilities. Such possibilities could either make or break the company in the future. It was interesting how the mind works, in this case Karry's mind. Karry didn't really know what to say, she stayed silent.

"Well? Isn't it amazing how the mind works? You've recently told us about your beliefs and what you think this company is capable of. Your mind was able to process the idea of why we are still here. The mind is something special, which is why we take creative output and input so seriously. Now, the mind can only go so far before is breaks and snaps and old age takes over making it difficult for legends to rise again. Newer generations come and go, getting older and having a different mind set on what people now think. The mind of a person, the creativity of a person is reflected of your work. We have seen it and examined it. It is quite interesting how your writing is so deep yet diverse. No one writes like you, Miss Edwards. That's quite astonishing. More than 7 billion people on this Earth and yet no one can match the way you write. Isn't that quite interesting?

Miss Edwards, we have called you here today to consult about your future here in DC. If you thought we were going to fire you, your quite wrong. Its crazy how I made it seem that way. Miss Edwards, don't let people ever tell you that you can't do something because when you put your mind to it, anything is possible. Now, we will print out your idea and see if it sells. If it begins selling we will begin working with our character management crew and writing crew and creative department crew and we will have a few issues printed. If its accepted by the people and they like it, then we will begin distributing them all around the world. Now, how long will it take for you to move your things here to New York? " The woman asked giving a smug grin.

Karry was astonished. Are they really gonna show the public her idea? Her idea, printed, published into a comic and sent out to millions of stores and comic book shops around the world. Millions of people, children, reading her work. Karry couldn't believe it. She was about to squeal before she cleared her throat and gave the more professional answer, "I can try to move as soon as possible but I would need to find an apartment to stay in."

The woman stood up, pushing her glasses to the bridge of her nose. Her brown locks hanging on her shoulder and looks as sharp as a razor. She fixed her suit as she said, "That will be your job. As soon as your find an apartment then contact us and you can begin moving. You will then bein working. As I said before, we will test your idea out. Its quite intricate. Which is a good thing."

Karry smiled big, letting her teeth be seen. She was very happy. Her expression reflected it, like a mirror. The council nodded and stood up as Karry said, "Yes maam. I will get to work on moving and finding an apartment. Thank you for this chance, This is unbelievable, a dream."

The woman nodded as she said, "Your welcome Miss Edwards, you are free to go. Oh before you go here. I have this for you. Enjoy."

With that the council bid her farewell. The woman walked towards Karry and handed her a white envelope. A sealed white envelope. What could it be? Why would she give her a white envelope? Are these instructions? Karry put it in her bag ever so carefully and walked out of the once terrifying room. Now, she was relaxed and she couldn't wait to tell Thomas about this. She just couldn't. She could just imagine his face and expression at her telling him the great news. She was so excited. As Karry walked out the building she made it to the car where Thomas was once waiting. Where had he gone? His car was once here and now it isn't. Where could he have gone?

Karry was about to call Thomas before she felt hot breath hit her neck giving her goosebumps. . . As she felt strong arms wrap around her arms, Thomas whispered, "I'm here. You didn't think, I'd leave such a beautiful woman all alone. . .did you?"

Karry felt her cheeks blush, the heat rising, "T-thomas, not in public. . ."

Thomas kissed her neck and then her cheek, "Ok, but that means you owe me. I'm thinking in the bedroom later. . ."

Karry blushed as her cheeks got even redder, " T-thomas! "

Thomas chuckled before saying, "We can agree on this later. How did it go?"

Karry turned around and said,"Guess what?"

Thomas looked at her with pure excitement and curiosity, "What?"

Karry squealed saying, "They accepted me! I got the job!! Now, I have to find an apartment here and move to New York!! I'm staying!!"

Thomas picked her up and spun her around saying, "Thats great babe. I'm proud of you! I told you so!! "

Karry kissed him passionately and then smiled replying, "Now I have to find an apartment here. Any ideas?"

Thomas thought about it before saying, "I've got an idea. How about we share my apartment? Just you and me."

Karry blushed before her eyes widened, "Thomas. . .us, sharing an apartment? Just you and I?"

Thomas nodded, "Just me and you. Don't worry, work at the coffee shop covers the rent and groceries."

Karry only blinked saying with a blank expression, "But that's unfair, I don't get to help you with anything."

A cheeky smirk appeared on his face as he replied, "You can keep the bed warm at night and never ever change because your perfect just the way you are."

Karry's cheek once again heated up before she kissed Thomas' cheek replying, "Deal, but I'm help with groceries and at least half the rent."

Thomas sprinkles peppermint kisses all over her face as he said triumphantly, "It's you and me against the world Karry. We are a team. "

Karry smiled before calling DC and telling them that she now had a new home, a place to stay. Now that Karry had a job and a place to stay, it was on the next step. Moving in and getting acustomed to sharing an apartment with Thomas and to living in New York.

Karry remembered what Thomas had said earlier which reminded her of a song as she began singing softly, "her eyes, her eyes make the stars look like they're not shining. Her hair, her hair falls perfectly without her trying. She's so beautiful. And I tell her everyday."

Thomas chuckled before singing back, "Yeah, I know, I know when I compliment her, she won't believe me
And it's so, it's so sad to think that she doesn't see what I see. But every time she ask me do I look okay?"

As Karry and Thomas laughed their heads off Karry was now much calmer and she was once again happy with she had accomplished.

Karry then remembered the letter the woman had given her. It was neatfully in her bag. The white paper envelope didn't seem to have any crinckles or indentions or creases of any kind. Karry opened the letter carefully. She couldn't believe what was inside. . . 2 tickets to the Comic Con!!! Karry only squealed as Thomas directed his attention towards her.

"Babe, what's that?" Thomas asked with curiosity shining in his eyes behind his glasses.

Karry had excitement plastered on her face before she said, "We have 2 tickets for the Comic Con!!! Thomas, we are going to the Comic Con!!!"

Thomas hugged her and spam her around before saying, "We?"

Karry nodded, "Yes, we. You and me remember?"

Thomas nodded as their fingers intertwined, "Yeah, you and me."

Karry couldn't believe it, she and Thomas were going to the Comic Con!!! It was an honor to do so. Karry thought that maybe she could meet the legendary Batman. In any case, it was an amazing accomplishment. Today has brought, two accomplishments for Karry and Thomas and there was nothing stopping them now. There was one accomplishment she still wanted, to find her friend again.

It's crazy how things happen but slowly, the messages became more than just messages and more than 2 people talking. They became friends, good friends. They would console each other when things were hard and make each other happy and laugh. They would stick together through thick and thin. Karry missed that. . . she missed it greatly. Thomas was here for her now, but it couldn't compare to how much she missed Skye, how much it left a hole in her heart.

Nonetheless, she was determined to find her and now that she was here, she wouldn't rest until she found her. Even if she had to go asking to every person in New York. It was that important to her.  She didn't realize that her friend might be closer than she thought and that maybe, fate does have a twisted connection and that she didn't realise it yet. . .
