Rick annoyingly stared at the guards while Gad walked in front of them as they took him to the courtyard where he would get hanged.

" Is this necessary? I only started a bar fight," Rick sternly tells Gad.

Gad smirks as he turns his head back to stare at Rick.

" You are getting hanged because you are ostensibly under the charge of deserting your post in the French Foreign Legion," Gad bluntly tells Rick.

Rick's blue eyes widened as he stares at Gad with a surprised expression.

" The fuck!" Rick cursed, feeling shocked that Gad would know about him deserting his post in the French Foreign Legion.

" Men! Walk O'Connell to the hanging post," Gad motioned to the hanging post where a hangman is standing there waiting to hang Rick by the neck with a noose knot.

Rick warily stared at the hanging post as he begins to struggle, but the guards kept a tight grip on him.

The guards soon started to push Rick up the stairs to the hanging post where the hangman is smirking at the scared adventurer.

Rick begins to glare at the hangman while the guards roughly turned his body to look forward at the courtyard where Gad is smirking, and a couple of guards stood by to watch what is going to happen.

" Any last words before you die?" The hangman asked Rick while holding the noose knot in his hands.

Rick silently stared at the courtyard, feeling scared since he thinks that his younger sister, Felicia, will not make it in time to save his ass.

' Maybe this is Felix's way of saying that she is mad at me for not making it to her university graduation ceremony. So, she probably wants me dead,' Rick tells himself, feeling sad.

" Oi! Cat got your tongue," Gad mockingly laughs at Rick when he sees that the adventurer isn't saying anything.

Rick glares at Gad, and he then turns his gaze to the hangman.

" Yeah! I have something to say. Fuck you all!" Rick snapped at the hangman as he spits on his face.

The hangman glares at Rick as he begins to put the noose knot around the adventurer's neck, and he tightens it, causing the brown-haired male to start coughing and gagging.

A gasping sound grabbed everyone's attention, and they turned to see the Carnahan siblings watching the hanging in horror.

" What are you two doing here?" Gad shouts as he walks up to the Carnahan siblings.

Rick's blue eyes opened a little as he intently stared at Evelyn's Hazel eyes, looking at him with a worried expression.

' Am I finally going to be saved?' Rick asked, sounding hopeful.

Gad stopped walking as he stands in front of the Carnahan siblings.

" Is hanging necessary for someone who caused a bar fight?" Evelyn sternly asked Gad.

Gad annoyingly rolled his eyes at Evelyn.

" The idiot is ostensibly under the charge of deserting his post in the French Foreign Legion," Gad explained to Evelyn.

Evelyn's Hazel eyes narrowed at Gad.

" You should know that the Legion has no presence in Egypt," Evelyn firmly tells Gad.

Gad smirks at Evelyn.

" Well. With a fee of fifty pounds, the prison can execute deserters and saved the Legion the trouble of dealing with them," Gad merely tells Evelyn.

Evelyn furiously stared at Gad, which Jonathan noticed, and he took a step away from his sister, finding her scary whenever she is angry.

Evelyn opened her mouth to say something, but she stopped when she sees Gad turning to stare at the hangman. She immediately assumed that the warden was going to stop the hanging.

" Do it!" Gad shouts at the hangman.

Evelyn and Rick's eyes widened.

The hangman smirks as he goes to walk to the side and his hand tightly grasped a handle.

" Richard!" Evelyn screams, and she begins to run past Gad as she heads to the hanging post.

" Evelyn!" Jonathan screams, looking scared that Evelyn is going to get hurt.

" Shoot her!" Gad furiously shouts at the guards.

Rick's heart skipped a beat when he sees Evelyn running towards the hanging post. His blue eyes narrowed when he sees guards pointing their guns at her, ready to shot the woman.

' No! No! No! I cannot let someone die because of me,' Rick tells himself, sounding scared.

Unbeknown to everyone in the courtyard, three mysterious individuals, Felicia, Isabella, and Ardeth, are hidden in the shadows witnessing everything.

Felicia lightly bites her lips when she sees Evelyn about to get killed by the guards for trying to save her idiot brother.

" Ardeth. Put the shadows down," Felicia firmly speaks to Ardeth in Arabic.

Ardeth nods his head, and he puts his hands down as the shadows disappeared, revealing himself and the two sisters to the public eye.

Felicia glanced at Isabella.

" Isa. Use those senbon needles that I gave you to strike the hangman's neck so that he can get paralyzed for the time being," Felicia firmly tells Isabella.

Isabella nods her head as she pulls out three metal needles from one of her pockets. Her dark brown eyes narrowed, and she swiftly throws them at the hangman.

Ardeth watched Isabella throw the senbon needles in amazement since she threw them with such accuracy.

The hangman's eyes widened when he felt something stung him on the neck. He immediately puts his hand on his neck as his body starts to feel strange. His vision begins to blur as he unknowingly pulls the handle down, and he falls to the ground.

Rick and Evelyn's heartbeat as one as they stared at one another with a mixture of emotions.

Time felt slow as Felicia starts to run towards the hanging post when she sees the lower part underneath Rick's feet begin to open.

Isabella and Ardeth watched, feeling confident that Felicia is going to save Rick.

Evelyn slowly held her hand out to Rick. She did not know why but she does not want him to die.

Isabella's dark brown eyes narrowed when she noticed that the guards were about to pull the trigger. She knew that Evelyn could die if she does not do anything. She then pulls out many senbon needles with her two hands.

" I need to get there in the middle so esos hijos de puta cannot harm that sweet lady that is trying to save ese idiota," Isabella firmly yet worriedly tells Ardeth. [Translation: Those motherfuckers]

Ardeth immediately noticed an opening in the middle.

" I found a shortcut," Ardeth quickly wraps his arm around Isabella's waist, and he holds her close.

Isabella's dark brown eyes blinked, looking confused as she gasped when she sees a shadow-like door appear in front of them.

Ardeth securely holds Isabella as they walk through the shadow-like door, and the two appear in the middle of the courtyard.

The guards placed their fingers on the trigger, and they were about to shoot when they suddenly see Ardeth and Isabella standing in the middle of the courtyard.

Gad's eyes widened when he sees many stuff happening in his courtyard.

" Kill them all!" Gad furiously shouts.

Ardeth lets Isabella go as she takes a step away from him, and she begins to twirl, throwing all the senbon needles to the guards.

The guards all grunted when they felt something stung their necks, and one by one, they begin to fall, unknowingly causing them to shoot at Isabella and Ardeth.

Ardeth twirls his hands in a circular motion as a shadow-like shield appears in front of him and Isabella as it protects them from getting shot by the bullets.

Isabella turns to look at Ardeth as she softly smiled at her knight and shining armor.

" Ricky!" Felicia shouts, causing everyone to look at her.

Rick's eyes widened when he finally sees Felicia in his vicinity. He felt the noose knot getting tighter around his neck as he starts to go down.

Felicia uses strength on her feet as she jumps, and she then pulls out a dagger from one of her pockets, and she swiftly cuts the rope.

Rick stared at Felicia in disbelief, thinking that he is dreaming. He then felt a weight on top of him when he sees that his sister threw herself on top of him as they both fell to the ground.

Evelyn stops running as she falls to her knees, seeing the woman from earlier saving Rick's life and tumbling on top of him. Her Hazel eyes intently stared at the two as she wonders who the woman is and what type of relationship she has with the adventurer.
